GAMMA: Year summary

Global Association of MMA, Fight Organization, London
Company profile by Mentor Guru Corleone

I would like to say...............Merry Christmas to all our managers, business associates at GEG and even to our competition (you know who you are).

Most of all i would like to thank Mike for his great work with MMA Tycoon. As a game owner myself, i know how hard it is to create a top level text based game and keep the members happy.

So once again It has been a very eventful 2013. GAMMA's one man show continued for yet another year. While most orgs in the game are changing owners like they change their underwear and have about 10 people working for them, it is not always easy to compete, but we grinded it out.

A lot of our success obviously goes to our managers and fighters. In fact i would like to give all the credit to them. They often approved lower level contracts to stay with GAMMA. In fact over the 4 1/2 years of our existence, we only once lost a GAMMA champion and i am happy me and that fighters owner are on good terms now with him back in GAMMA, hopefully for another good run at the title.

I would say that 3 major developments occurred in 2013.

#1 Was the creation of the Global Elite Group (GEG). Unlike what many people think. GEG was a survival plan. When our competition announced their "super bully group" (link can be provided) they shut the door on the international super fight scene and first to lose out was of course GAMMA which always relied on super fights to keep the org interesting.

GEG's main goal was to provide a platform for "the other" top level orgs to compete in super fights. The group now includes CEC, Versus, TTFC, CW Hilo, AD Montreal and GAMMA and i am very very happy with the progress and general communication in the group. Most of all though i am happy that all of the GEG orgs are still very active and have improved their roster depth during this period.

#2 Was the creation of my own alliance Legion of Doom (LOD). I always avoided alliances. I wanted to keep GAMMA as neutral as possible for as long as possible. However fact is, most top level orgs are supported, usually directly by their alliance. GAMMA never had anyone and that put us at a disadvantage when looking for top level talent as most of the FA's stayed loyal to their alliance orgs and i understand why they would do that. My goal with LOD was to help younger managers get involved in the game and if they picked GAMMA in the future, then great. It will at least put us on even terms with our competition.

#3 2013 was the year when GAMMA finally went global. Many can argue that GAMMA is not at the level of the top 3-4 orgs, but at the start of the year we was a borderline top 10-15 org most of the time. This was the year we went global, doubled our top 1000 p4p talent and started running PPV level events every week. Which basically means we can compete financially with the best orgs out there.

Overall though, i would like to say that i am very very happy with out progress over 2013. We got to where we are through the front door and that is always very tough. Doing it the hard way through communication, careful booking, hyper activity and organization was always the tough root to take, especially if you consider that i lack the time to idle the chat channels.

Most of the top level orgs are there simply because they "out muscled" their way to their top, usually merging a few orgs on their way or using their cash to gain position, so doing it the way we have is a massive achievement.

Once again, thanks to everyone for their contribution and have a happy holiday period!
