SFL 04 | HALLI VERSUS SITSONGRIT PREVIEW
209 ARENA, AMSTERDAM

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1596667891sfl4.jpg

Xavier: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the 209 Arena in Amsterdam!

Styles: Not to be that guy, but wasn’t there a CNN report the other day that said Amsterdam is falling apart at its foundation near water-laden areas?

Xavier: Actually, yes, Styles. That’s correct, but this excellent arena isn’t near those areas, plus the finances generated by this outstanding night of fights, as well as by this very reputable organization, will greatly assist the local community with addressing those issues.

Styles: Oh, I see. We’re magnanimous and kick ass? How awesome is that?

Xavier: Very. Tonight, not only do we have an explosive card filled with potential brutality and punishment, but the Featherweight Championship is on the line! That will absolutely be intense and nasty, and the fans will eat it up!

Styles: Of course they will! They know what the Stoner Fight League brings to the table!

Xavier: Indeed they do! Although we’re slated to review the Top 5 fights of the night, let’s give our quick opinions about the first five fights. Shall we?

Styles: Let’s!

Xavier: The first fight of the night is a Light Heavyweight battle between Habi George (2-0 MMA; 3-2-1 KT; 2-fight win streak) versus Ruben Ruiz Mangas (2-1; 2-fight win streak). In a nutshell, Styles, if this fight stays vertical, Habi George scores the knockout, and he may pull that off with a nasty knee to the head!

Styles: Mangas wins this fight by taking George to the mat and making him lament while tapping out furiously!

Xavier: The next fight is a Heavyweight battle between Blanco “El Guapo” Domingues (3-4) versus Brian “Super Brian” Nielsen (1-2). Overall, I think Domingues will be quite comfortable in this fight due to his overall abilities, but specifically, I think keeping this fight vertical is the key to victory for him tonight and the knockout.

Styles: Nielsen is just one happy looking dude, maybe so happy that it’s disturbing, and he could throw Domingues off his game with that odd smile of his. I say Nielsen wins with a counterstrike because he’s going to trip Domingues out too much with that weird smile!

Xavier: The Featherweight division sees Gareth Keenan Jr. “Investigates” (3-2; 2-fight winning streak) and Brandan Quiniou (3-1) go at it. Even though he wears a very unique outfit when not fighting, Keenan Jr. is an effective fighter. If he keeps this fight vertical, he wins by knockout, plain and simple.

Styles: Despite having a 3-fight winning streak snapped recently, I say Quiniou, which sounds like some type of yogurt or seed, wins this fight by dragging Keenan Jr. to the horizontal plane and making him tap out from there.

Xavier: The big boys clash as Tembo Laibon (6-3) and Jeronimo “Pinoy Savage” Puno (5-1; 2-fight winning streak) lock horns. When I saw the 27-year-old Jamaican backstage, Laibon didn’t look like he wanted to fight. I’m not sure if there’s a personal issue he’s dealing with but I hope for his sake he gets it together before this battle or it’s going to be a very short one. The odds are stacked against him anyway, and the only way he defeats the highly-skilled 23-year-old Puno is to catch him with a counterstrike that rocks him badly or a counter-takedown he doesn’t see coming then lock him in a submission immediately.

Styles: Usually, I get amped when there’s an inter-alliance fight, X, but in this one, I can only hope that Puno doesn’t completely wreck the other dude! They may as well call this fight the “Manila Mauling” because that’s what it’s going to be! Hopefully, Puno puts Laibon out of his misery quickly by knocking him out quick!

Xavier: The Lightweight division takes the stage with Grigoriy Petrov (3-3) and Egill “the Demon King” Skallagrimmson (5-3). To put it simply, the tattooed warrior from Saint Petersburg needs to keep this fight in the standup, and he could even take the chance of clinching with Skallagrimsson to keep it that way. He does that and he wins this fight by knockout.

Styles: The dude with an SAT word for a last name looked a little butt hurt when I saw him, X, but I don’t think he’s upset enough to render him less effective. Avoiding the clinch and getting this fight to the mat as fast as possible is the key to victory for the Icelandic warrior. Dude definitely looks pissed and I won’t upset anyone that carries a war axe, so I expect him to win this battle by submission!

Xavier: All right, we’ve now reached the Top 5 fights of the evening! The party gets started in the Welterweight division.

WELTERWEIGHT DIVISION: LEON “VIRTUOSO” LOUIS (10-4; CURRENT STREAK: NONE)
VERSUS
MELDRICK TAYLOR (10-5-1; CURRENT STREAK: 2 WINS)

Xavier: The shorter warrior from Philly steps into the cage representing La Familia, and the 26-year-old carries solid boxing, good Muay Thai, world class wrestling and a purple belt into this battle. The bottom line for Louis, and his flashing multi-colored aura, which is kind of cool, actually, is to get this fight off its feet as soon as possible! To do that is his choice, so to speak. Either he feels he can withstand the punching power and prowess that Taylor possesses. Louis has shown the ability to withstand power strikes and keep right on moving so that’s a definite possibility. Or, he counterattacks the assumed aggression from Taylor to shoot in and land the takedown he seeks to then float immediately into a dominant position and try to finish this fight early via ground-and-pound!

Styles: The 26-year-old warrior from “The Big Apple” represents the Syndicate as he steps into battle tonight. He knows full well that he has to use his height advantage to its utmost and he could quite possibly live with using a high volume of accurate punches as opposed to trying to knock Louis out, especially with the very tough chin Louis has displayed. Additionally, questions have been raised about his ability to withstand power strikes so he doesn’t want to open his defenses for Louis to test his chin! Keeping this fight vertical and out of the clinch is the meal ticket for Taylor tonight, and he’s going to have to use a hell of a lot of energy to keep Louis off of him. He’ll dig deep and do exactly that to win this by unanimous decision!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Taylor by Unanimous Decision; Xavier – Louis by TKO

FEATHERWEIGHT DIVISION: TREE “AGENTDOUBLEONINE” FORTAY (13-3; CURRENT STREAK: NONE)
VERSUS
“THE ORIGINAL RUDE BOY” AZACCA TROUNVOUCHE (9-2; CURRENT STREAK: 2 WINS)

Styles: The 26-year-old Bay Pines product represents the Keyboard Warriors tonight, and, if my wits are working, his name is a play of words referencing South Park. The old man who says, “About tree fiddy” is what I think is being mocked and I dig it. Poking fun at a crazy cartoon like South Park is always funny to me so kudos to Fortay! He has a bit of an experience advantage over Trounvouche along with a very slight height advantage, but in this fight, that won’t prove to be much of anything. I say that because he wants to get this fight on the ground so he can exploit his black belt advantage. In order to do that, I suspect that he’s going to counterattack Azacca and he should be able to do that successfully. With Golden Gloves boxing, solid Muay Thai, and outstanding wrestling to support the black belt, he should be all right as long as he stays away from Azacca’s kicks and clinch! Also, he’s fueled by recently having a 6-fight losing streak snapped by Obi Wan Kenobi at UnderGround FC 132. It will be a struggle, but Fortay eventually gets this fight to the ground where he forces the tapout by Trounvouche!

Xavier: YABAI is on the board as the 25-year-old Jamaican from Kingston steps into battle. Slightly shorter but heavier in this fight, look for Azacca to keep this fight in the standup as much as possible, and if he feel it’s necessary, he can lock Fortay into a clinch and keep him close in an effort to thwart his takedown attempts while landing his own power strikes. Azacca has proven that he has the knockout power to stop any fighter in his tracks, but Azacca also has to be wary to not get overconfident and forget to keep his chin tucked. As we all know, anyone can get dropped like a sack of rocks in the blink of an eye if they leave their chin exposed too long! Azacca had a 7-fight win streak snapped by Third Eye and then he lost the next fight against Anthony Cirelli by TKO, but he’s obviously managed to turn things around with the 2-fight win streak he’s on so he’s definitely wanting to carry that momentum over into this scrum. Sinking his weight into his strikes will be key tonight, along with obviously not being taken to the mat, but if that happens, he has enough skills to avoid being tapped out. Azacca takes this one home by knockout!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Trounvouche by KO; Styles – Fortay by Submission

BANTAMWEIGHT DIVISION:”THE TINY TORMENTOR” JUAN KEMONITO (12-6; CURRENT STREAK: NONE)
VERSUS
ANDRES BONIFACIO (16-3; CURRENT STREAK: NONE)

Xavier: Quite a bit shorter and lighter than Bonifacio, Kemonito, who wears a rather…unique outfit when he prepares for battle, is going to have to use agility and speed to avoid Bonifacio’s striking prowess. The La Familia representative from Mexico City wants to get this fight to the ground as quickly as possible, so he can use his speed and diminutive stature to manipulate the longer limbs of Bonifacio, and Kemonito is stronger than one would suspect so he’s able to twist body parts in ways they aren’t normally supposed to. He has solid boxing and Muay Thai, but his bread and butter are his world-class wrestling and brown belt. He’s accustomed to battling men who are taller and heavier than he is so that’s nothing new, and there’s no experience disadvantage for either man here, so a battle of will is going to determine the outcome of this battle. If Kemonito feels he can’t get the tapout then he can go wild in an effort to ground-and-pound Bonifacio into submitting or until the referee decides enough is enough! Despite the physical odds stacked against him, I think Kemonito takes this victory home by way of TKO!

Styles: Bonifacio is six years older than Kemonito and that means he doesn’t want to play the game of trying to match the younger warrior’s energy. That being said, Bonifacio knows he has a solid height advantage in this fight and he’ll be able to use that to his full advantage despite, technically, having the same abilities in boxing as Kemonito. Bonifacio does want to avoid taking too many kicks from Kemonito because that could be used to set him up for being taken down and he wants to avoid that like the plague! The 32-year-old Filipino from Tondo, Manila, has respectable wrestling and a purple belt, so if he is dragged to the ground, he should be able to defend himself long enough to either get back to his feet by standing on his own or holding on until the referee decides to stand the fight up. Early in his career he was a feared striker and he may still possess enough pop in his fists to make a lot of trouble for Kemonito, so Kemonito can’t throw caution to the wind and keep his chin exposed. If Bonifacio can keep this fight vertical and on the outside, even if he doesn’t score the knockout, he’ll be able to land a multitude of accurate strikes to score the vital points on the scorecards and win this fight by unanimous decision. However, I think he has enough power to score the knockout win!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Bonifacio by KO; Xavier – Kemonito by Submission

CO-MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING

ezgif-com-gif-maker-29.gif

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION: JACKSON “BANG BANG” TRIGGER (14-4; CURRENT STREAK: NONE)
VERSUS
JOHN “F-16” MAKRES (10-3; CURRENT STREAK: 2 WINS)

Styles: Hey X, you know that I love inter-alliance battles, but a close second? Revenge tours! These two crossed paths at RFC: Makres vs. Trigger on April 18th of this year, and Trigger won that by TKO in the second round! You better believe that fight, though some time ago, is very fresh in both of these fighter’s minds, and Trigger will more than likely use that as motivation to gain the upper hand in an attempt to duplicate that victory. Representing The Guardians, the 26-year-old from Cairns, Australia, steps into this battle with a very balanced skill set. Golden Gloves boxing, excellent Muay Thai, Olympic-level wrestling and a brown belt are his tools of the trade. He’s slightly taller than Makres but not enough to be a major difference maker in my opinion. His calling card is aggression, pressure and power! That’s one hell of a mix, X, and it can overwhelm any opponent at anytime. The downside of that approach? He exposes his chin too often and every single loss on his record has been a TKO, twice to Giuseppe Hopkins! So, in a nutshell, with Trigger he either puts his opponent to sleep or he gets put to sleep. He had an 8-fight win streak at one point in time so he knows what to do with momentum when he has it. The struggle will be snapping back into winning form after being lambasted early in the first round by Lenny Kowalski at RFC Live in Sydney 4! As the SFL president buzzed, Trigger has a “kill or be killed’ mentality and the fans love it, plus it put him in the Light Heavyweight Hall of Fame by amassing 13 or 14 wins by knockout. Trigger gets back on the winning track by knockout out Makres tonight!

Xavier: Makres gives up the mental edge in this fight, at least from my perspective, Styles. Thinking as opposed to knowing you can defeat an opponent makes a world of difference, especially with the level of confidence a fighter has knowing he can defeat someone. Both of these warriors are very confident, as they should be, because they’re devastating in the cage and they both know that very well. The 25-year-old Greek from Larissa represents The Stepdads in this fight and he brings solid boxing and Muay Thai skills, along with very good wrestling and a brown belt. Along with those skills, very much like Trigger, he has stones for knuckles, though Makres opts to make opponents lament while tapping them out, so he does have options available. Trigger looks to have more pure striking power than Makres does but that doesn’t mean Makres can’t drop Trigger where he stands with one clean shot, especially since we’ve all seen Trigger’s chin get rocked pretty brutally. The difficulty for Makres in this fight will be getting it horizontal where, despite not having the wrestling skills that Trigger has, he can make the most of his skillset in an effort to try and make Trigger tapout. Naturally, Makres can opt to try and land crushing strikes by counterattacking the aggression that Trigger is sure to bring into the cage, plus Makres can use counterattacking methods to shoot in and take this fight to the ground if and when he makes Trigger miss a power strike that causes him to lose his balance long enough to take advantage of. Makres gains vengeance by winning this battle by knockout!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Makres by KO; Styles – Trigger by KO

MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING

FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP BATTLE: REIJO HALLI (10-2-1; CURRENT STREAK: 4 WINS)
VERSUS
SAMKONGKOI SITSONGRIT (9-0-1; CURRENT STREAK: NONE)

Xavier: This promises to be one hell of a clash, Styles! Sitsongrit has never lost and Halli has only dropped two fights, plus he’s feeling a good amount of momentum heading into this fight, so the proverbial immovable object against the unstoppable force can be utilized for this battle! Halli is a submission specialist while Sitsongrit is a standup devil, so we have the classic standup versus ground fighter here, Styles. What this boils down to is desire and will. The man who wants to keep this fight in their realm the most, so to speak, will walk away the winner, plain and simple. Yes, there’ll be strategy and perhaps some luck, but sheer will is the deciding factor in a fight of this magnitude with skillsets such as these men possess. The FinnFighters representative is slightly taller and heavier than Sitsongrit, the 25-year-old Finnish fighter from Helsinki can try and land effective and damaging counterstrikes against Sitsongrit in an effort to set him up for the takedown that Halli wants to land, but he’s going to have to be extremely cautious of Sitsongrit’s nasty kicks! If Halli doesn’t literally keep his head tucked and chin moving, he may eat one brutal head kick and rattles his teeth, loosens his jaw and send him to the mat for a little sleepy time. Getting Sitsongrit to the math won’t be an easy task because technically, both of these men are pretty even in terms of wrestling ability, and that’s where the desire kicks in. Halli has very good boxing, good Muay Thai, outstanding wrestling and a black belt, and it’s obviously imperative he utilize that black belt as early and as often as possible. Even if he doesn’t score the tapout, getting Sitsongrit to the ground and keeping him there will allow him to score very vital points on the scorecards plus keep his chin from getting popped time and again. In what proves to be one hellacious fight, Halli emerges as the new Featherweight champion tonight by making Sitsongrit tapout!

Styles: The undefeated member of YABAI brings a world of confidence along with his world class boxing and Muay Thai skills, supported by outstanding wrestling and a brown belt. With Sitsongrit, who holds the UnderGround Fight Club Featherweight championship, by the way, where he defeated the man to technically put a blemish on his outstanding record, Juan Pique. Pique managed to battle Sitsongrit to a draw when they first locked horns at UnderGround FC 126! That was one hell of a fight but Sitsongrit took it to Pique in their rebound battle at UnderGround FC 134 by unanimous decision, and now this is his first fight in the SFL. He obviously wants to show the other Featherweight fighters, as well as all of the SFL fighters, staff and fans, that he’s the real deal and wants to put to bed any doubters. He’s not a devastating striker in terms of power, though he obviously has enough of that to put an opponent to sleep, but he’s a thinker in that cage. He understands that sometimes fights are more games of chess as opposed to checkers. If he feels he can’t get to Halli’s chin enough or can’t seem to cause him substantial damage then he can use his world class standup fighting skills to push ahead on the scorecards and stay there while ensuring he doesn’t get taken to the mat or get cracked by an unsuspecting strike. He also has the option of taking this fight into the clinch where he can be very effective with knees and elbows plus feel any attempts Halli makes to try and trip him to the mat. If he locks Halli into a clinch, expect him to keep the fight there as long as he can land damaging blows and maybe even try to cut Halli open with slicing elbows and brutal knee strikes! Sitsongrit emerges with the Featherweight championship by knocking out Halli and adding to his championship haul!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Sitsongrit by KO; Xavier – Halli by Submission

Styles: All right good people, that’s our time for tonight! Thank you very much for tuning in and allowing us to kick our insight and knowledge to you about the fights tonight. We greatly appreciate all of you and the time you give u!

Xavier: Yes, we’re very thankful to all of you and the SFL for allowing us to do what we enjoy a great deal, and a shout out to Conquer for being an excellent merchandise partner. Check out their gear and hook it up! On behalf of Furious Styles, I’m Esiah Xavier, signing off, and we’ll see you at the fights!

Extremely honoured to become SFL first champion, Sakmongkol had this to say:

"ฉันรู้สึกเป็นเกียรติที่ได้รับรางวัลเข็มขัดหิน หวังให้คนในประเทศไทยภาคภูมิใจ เป็นเกียรติที่ได้รับเข็มขัดและเงินทั้งหมด โบนัสการเซ็นสัญญาทั้งหมดสิบเปอร์เซ็นต์ที่โค้ชของฉันมอบให้ฉัน ทั้งหมดสองพัน"

Breaking News:

Former Fartma and Rapid chump HOPKINS loses by KO2 to Undergound Champ LOMAX.

Giuseppe Folilio outspoken and largely disliked manager of HOPKINS, drowns in Convicted GOLDEN SHOWER.

"Former" Underground 205 champ. It took me 38 seconds to unify the Underground 205 title and Rapid FC title under the SFL Banner. Plan on making short work of the next contender, and if you feel like getting slept a 3rd time, I'll be waiting.

SFL Monday Morning Hangover:

SFL 4 and SFL 5 took place over the weekend, and if you missed it, here's a rough summary.

SFL 4

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1596667891sfl4.jpg

FOTN: Sakmongkol Sitsongrit vs Reijo Halli

KOTN: Brian Nielsen

SOTN: Jeronimo Puno

SFL 5

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1597091152sfl-05.gif

FOTN: Riley Ferguson vs Bryant Smith

KOTN: Valentin Taneyev

SOTN: Don Vigo

SFL 5 AFTERMATH:

Main Event: Taneyev def. Kowalski via TKO (Strikes) 0:38 in the 1st round

In the Main Event of the evening we saw our 2nd world championship between Underground LHW Champion Valentin Taneyev and RFC LHW Champion Lenny Kowalski. The Stump got blown up by The Hand Grenade in 38 seconds in the first round. He was nearly starched with the first strike of the fight when he threw a sloppy right hand and was knocked off his feet by a rocket. Lenny bounced back up but Valentin had found his range and immediately followed it up with another right that rocked him and drew applause from the crowd. Lenny went down like a warrior swinging a hook of his own but Valentin landed a massive overhand right hand behind the ear that sent Kowalski crashing to the canvas and Taneyev went in for the skill battering him from every conceivable angle until the ref decided Kowalski was in need of a savior and stepped in. The one sided beating earned Taneyev Knockout of the Night honors and some extra cash in his bank account.

Result: Taneyev def. Kowalski via TKO (strikes) 0:38 in Round 1

Co-Main Event:

In the Co-Main Event of the evening between two bitter rivals we seen Vincent Lomax (15-2) hand Giuseppe Hopkins (12-1-1) the first loss of his MMA career in brutal fashion. Lomax set the tone early with a devastating leg kick that chopped Hopkins to the floor, and although Hopkins bounced right back to his feet many fans suspect he sustained an early injury from the powerful kick as Lomax went on to dominate the rest of the fight. Barring a right hand that stumbled Vincent in the 1st round, he landed more shots and landed with more authority. 2nd round didn't last long before Lomax hit Hopkins with a head kick that separated him from his senses. Lomax continued to put on the pressure with strikes forcing the ref to jump in and a golden shower had officially been given.

Result: Lomax def. Hopkins via TKO (strikes) 1:37 in Round 2

Maincard: Win Streak Snapped, Black Belt Tapped
Dom Severini ended John Goldberg's 10-fight streak. The most impressive thing about that winning streak was it all came by way of knockout but it was actually Severini who rocked his opponent with an uppercut in the 2nd round and came close to finishing him. Goldberg survived and continued to grind his way into action and managed to dictate the pace of the 3rd after securing a couple takedowns, but the judges had it 2 rounds to 1 in favor of the fan favorite from Jersey City, Dom Severini.
Result: Severini def. Goldberg via UD
Dubaku Womba's highly anticipated SFL debut was going according to plan until the unexpected happened in the 2nd round. The Blanc Fitness Academy brown belt hooked one of Womba's legs and used it to take Womba's back. This brought all of Don Vigo's fans to their feet as they were calling for the finishing move before he applied it.

Vigo is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Womba's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Womba's back!

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/3.gif
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Vigo's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Vigo is not going to allow Womba to sit and survive in this position.
Vigo lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Womba hold on?!
Vigo punches the canvas rather than the man.
Womba is really stuck here.
http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/sub2.gif
Vigo looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Womba taps!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Don Vigo!

Don Vigo has never won by rear naked choke before but his supporters must of knew he had a slick one in his arsenal. An excellent win for Don Vigo and his camp that earned him a Submission of the Night bonus, but it was a disappointing setback for Kelly and Dabuku, son of Womba.
Result: Don Vigo def. Dabuku Womba via Sub (RNC) 3:45 in Round 2

Undercard: Barn Yard Fighting At It's Finest

On the undercard Riley Ferguson and Bryant Smith duked it out like two whiskey fueled rednecks behind a barn at a hoedown in Nebraska. They seemed content to stand there and go toe-to-toe and play rock em sock em robots with each other in the second round before Ferguson clipped Smith with an overhand right that sent him to canvas and forced the ref to call the fight. The slugfest earned them Fight of the Night honors.

Result: Ferguson def. Smith via TKO (strikes) 2:28 in Round 2

Richie - Have you any advice for Hopkins?

SFL 07 | BAD BLOOD PREVIEW
209 ARENA, AMSTERDAM

Xavier: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! Welcome BACK to the 209 Arena in Amsterdam!

Styles: It’s great to see everyone rockin’ this arena already, Xavier! Every one of the 21,209 seats are filled and I see how amped everybody is for these fights!

Xavier: Absolutely, Styles! This will be yet another exciting action-packed night that will surely spark some choice words, as well as elation from people who win bets and curses from those who don’t win.

Styles: I bet more people would have better luck with their bets if they listened to me!

Xavier: Maybe, but I don’t keep track of our predictions record because it’s probably not that great, actually.

Styles: Say what you will, I think I do pretty well at predicting fights!

Xavier: We’ll see how you do with the results of this card. Let’s get down to it!

BANTAMWEIGHT DIVISION: JO “RUBBER BAND” CHEWY (3-1; CURRENT STREAK: 3 FIGHTS)
VERSUS
YAMAOKA YUKINOBU (5-1; CURRENT STREAK: 5 FIGHTS)

Xavier: The 23-year-old Canadian from Toronto represents the UnderGround Fights Enterprise in this contest. He has solid boxing, excellent Muay Thai, good wrestling and a purple belt. Chewy will want to keep this fight standing as much as possible where he can exploit his standup advantage and secure the knockout over Yukinobu!

Styles: When fighters combine for an 8-fight win streak, you know it’s going to be a good one! The 24-year-old Japanese product from Tokyo wants to drag Chewy to the ground and keep this fight horizontal as long as possible! He’s taller and heavier so he can lay more power into his strikes and that’s exactly what he’ll want to do before he secures the takedown he needs to bring this fight into his comfort real. Solid boxing, good Muay Thai, excellent wrestling and a brown belt, specially the grappling, is what brings this win to Yukinobu via submission!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Yukinobu by Submission; Xavier – Chewy by KO

LIGHTWEIGHT DIVISION: ANGEL “EL JEFE” MORALES (5-3; CURRENT STREAK: NONE)
VERSUS
SHEN “LIL SAO” PO (4-2; CURRENT STREAK: NONE)

Styles: The Stepdads are on the scene with Morales. The 25-year-old Sonora product has solid all-around skills, but for this fight in particular, I think he’ll look to keep the action focused in the standup as long as possible because he doesn’t want to have to spend unnecessary time defending against the grappling skills that Po possesses. While he has a brown belt as well, along with very good boxing, excellent Muay Thai, and solid wrestling, he doesn’t want to risk being outwrestled and losing by decision. Knocking Po out obviously avoids the judges and that sits very well with him! Morales wins by knockout!

Xavier: The 22-year-old Phnom Penh, Cambodia, product steps into battle representing YABAI. He recently had a 4-fight losing streak halted by Ryan Landry so he wants to get back into that winning form as quickly as possible! A little taller and 16 lbs. heavier, Po may very well look to land power strikes in the standup to either try and rock Morales’ chin or stun him at least to set him up for the takedown. Once this fight goes to the ground, Po wraps it up by submission!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Morales by KO; Styles – Po by Submission

FEATHERWEIGHT DIVISION: AL “THE ARABIAN TEMPLAR” GHOUTI (5-2; CURRENT STREAK: NONE)
VERSUS
SHOWTIME SITSONGRIT (4-2; CURRENT STREAK: 2 LOSSES)

Xavier: I know you normally get amped about inter-alliance battles, but when it’s fellow YABAI members, it’s a little different. The 24-year-old from Drapsaka, Afghanistan, is a grappling specialist but does have Golden Gloves boxing and solid Muay Thai to support his world class wrestling and brown belt! The seven-pound weight advantage he has over Sitsongrit could be the difference maker because it could tire Sitsongrit just enough to allow Ghouti to control the action to lock in the submission he seeks!

Styles: Yeah, man, normally I’d dig an inter-alliance battle but it is what it is. Sitsongrit has Golden Gloves boxing, world class Muay Thai, outstanding wrestling and a brown belt. Look for Sitsongrit to exploit his superior Muay Thai skills to give Ghouti fits with multiple kicks from all angles, and possibly lock him in a clinch to make life miserable for him. Sitsongrit will rely on the slight speed advantage he has to repetitiously punish Ghouti’s legs with kicks while looking to sneak the one head kick he wants to land to daze Ghouti and set him up for the knockout blow!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Sitsongrit by KO; Xavier – Ghouti by Submission

WELTERWEIGHT DIVISION: ANDRE GALVAO (6-3; CURRENT STREAK: NONE)
VERSUS
JASON ROCKS (9-6; CURRENT STREAK: NONE)

Styles: The 26-year-old Mexican fighter from Sinaloa didn’t look too happy when I saw him earlier this week. His management team has expressed their warranted concerns about that because if his mind isn’t right, this is going to be a very short battle! Galvao wants to get this fight to the ground quickly because he’s badly outmatched in the standup, especially if Rocks is able to secure him in a clinch. Counterattacking and looking for the knockout there is probably his best bet at victory tonight but I just don’t see that happening, Xavier! I know it’s a rare occasion but I think we’ll be on the same page for this fight. Rocks wins this by knockout!

Xavier: That’s definitely not a common occurrence, Styles, so when it does happen, I definitely take a note of it. The 30-year-old from Jangan, China, is technically superior in the standup to Galvao and he’ll look to take full advantage of that fact in this fight! As you said, Styles, if Rocks is able to lock in a clinch, this fight will be a wrap, so look for him to do just that if he can’t score the knockout from distance. He’s the taller and heavier man and that sits just fine with him as he blasts Galvao’s chin with power strikes until he falters. Rocks by knockout!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Rocks by KO; Styles – Rocks by KO

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION: JACKSON “BLIZZARD” STORM (6-3; CURRENT STREAK: 2 WINS)
VERSUS
JAMIE JAMES (4-2; CURRENT STREAK : NONE)

Xavier: Representing YABAI in this battle, Storm steps into battle with some momentum due to winning his last two fights by letting his fists fly, and you can be certain that’s what’s going to occur against James. The 24-year-old from Radiator Springs won’t have a physical advantage in terms of height and weight since both of these warriors are very similar in physical stature. Storm does have a bit of a combat experience advantage so he could lean on that. He’ll have to be wary of James’ kicks and if this fight goes to the clinch, I don’t know if either man has a distinct advantage. However, Storm wins this battle by knockout!

Styles: The 24-year-old from Waterloo represents UnderGround Fights Enterprise, and he brings a solid set of skills into this fight. Very good boxing, excellent Muay Thai, solid wrestling and a brown belt is what he brings to the mix. My money is that James will want to not only keep this fight in the standup, but he’ll also take the chance of locking Storm into a clinch and try to obviously do as much damage as possible while in very close quarters. He has knockout power and will look to exploit that as quickly as possible to avoid having to try and outwrestle Storm. James wins this fight by knockout!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – James by KO; Xavier – Storm by KO

Styles: Now we’re into the Top 5 fight of the night!

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION: AAPO JUKOLA (11-3; CURRENT STREAK: 2 WINS)
VERSUS
JOHN McSULLEY (8-4; CURRENT STREAK: NONE)

Styles: Yes! An inter-alliance fight! The UnderGround Fights Enterprise member from Nurmijarvi, Finland, brings an excellent MMA record into this fight along with Golden Gloves boxing, solid Muay Thai, outstanding wrestling and a purple belt. He had an 8-fight winning streak at one point in time and he’s not shy about being aggressive or letting his fists fly. On the downside of that brutality, each of his losses have been by way of KO or TKO, so there are questions and doubts about his chin’s ability to absorb much punishment at all. He’s taller and heavier than McSulley and I expect him to try and use that weight to deliver more punishing strikes to get the job done tonight, and if he feels he’s not able to drop McSulley then he can take the chance of locking him into a clinch and trying his luck there, or even going for a takedown if he wants to control the pace and space of this fight, though that’s a bit of a risky proposition Since McSulley is technically just as skilled in BJJ. I think Jukola wins this fight by staying on the outside and only clinching is absolutely necessary to level McSulley with a knockout!

Xavier: The 24-year-old warrior from Old Vegas not only knows he’s a little less experienced, but he know if he loses this fight then he’ll have to hear Jukola talk about it very often. That in itself is enough motivation for McSulley to dig deep and find it in him to pull out this win! In order to do that, he’s going to have to rely on what got him to this dance in the first place: Aggression and knockout power is what he brings to the table, but for him, he’ll need to keep his chin tucked and head moving the entire time, because he’s undeniably suffered some tough losses due to being clocked and put to sleep early! Counterattacking may be the best method of approach tonight because he does have Golden Gloves boxing and very good Muay Thai, along with solid wrestling and a purple belt. He can even make a concerted effort to kick a multitude of times, especially if he can get inside of Jukola’s defenses, and that will enable him to score vital points plus prevent any potential takedowns Jukola may opt to try for. McSulley wins this battle by knockout!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – McSulley by KO; Styles – Jukola by KO

MIDDLEWEIGHT DIVISION: JAMES “DANGERZONE” STORMCHASER (10-6; CURRENT STREAK: 2 WINS)
VERSUS
“OG” SPANKY LOCO (9-5; CURRENT STREAK: 2 LOSSES)

Xavier: The FinnFighters are on the scene as Stormchaser, cool last name by the way, steps into battle. We have the classic standup versus ground fighter battle here and for Stormchaser, avoiding the ground like it’s lava is the key to victory tonight! He absolutely wants to avoid being taken to the mat as a result of a shoot takedown or a trip takedown from the clinch. Staying active on the outside is what Stormchaser must do, plus it gives him the opportunity to have better footwork and head movement to avoid the various strikes that he’ll see coming from Loco. Stormchaser is slightly taller and heavier than Loco but there’s no real advantage there. Taking advantage of Loco’s aggression is a key aspect of this fight. If Stormchaser can land some timely and destructive counterstrikes to keep Loco off balance, that will be a very good achievement for him! Counterattacking with power is how I see Stormchaser approaching this fight and if he’s able to land enough clean shots then Loco’s chin is going to waver under the pressure and he’ll end up looking at the lights on the ceiling as Stormchaser has his hand raised in victory! Stormchaser by knockout!

Styles: “OG” steps into battle with his trademark purple high-top fade representing The Stepdads. The 25-year-old fighter from Inglewood definitely wants to get this fight to the ground as soon as possible and utilize the black belt skills to make Stomchaser’s life very uncomfortable! Loco has very good boxing, solid Muay Thai and very excellent wrestling to support that black belt, and I think he’ll be aggressive in this fight, particularly in the standup, because he’ll want to do his best to obviously knock Stormchaser out if he can, but if not then look to stun him enough for takedowns to become far easier to manage! Loco has never been knocked out so he may be more brazen with Stormchaser and that could work to his advantage because he could make Stormchaser be more aggressive than he planned to, per se, and cause him to fight Loco’s preferred pace of battle. If nothing else, Loco can always try to lock Stormchaser into a clinch and see if he can land damaging blows from there before taking him to the ground and looking for the tapout. Either way, Loco wins by submission!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Loco by Submission; Xavier – Stormchaser by KO

LIGHT HEAVYEWIGHT DIVISION: SAMMY “MIAMI” BEACH (10-6; CURRENT STREAK: NONE)
VERSUS
“THE SHADOW” ARMAND CHRISTOPHE (8-3; CURRENT STREAK: 5 WINS)

Styles: The slightly taller and heavier Beach represents the LEGION OF DOOM in this battle, and it’s imperative he keep this fight in the vertical plane at all costs. The 23-year-old from, big surprise, Miami, brings solid boxing, very good Muay Thai, good wrestling and a blue belt to the mix. In a nutshell, when it comes to Beach, he either wrecks or gets wrecked! His aggressive style and punishing knockouts have made him rather popular with SLF fans and this is his debut in this organization. Unfortunately for him, his fans can’t take bone-crunching strikes for him and that means he’s paid the price four times by getting knocked out or TKO’d. If he lands the power strikes first while keeping his head moving and chin tucked, he’s in business. If he allows Christophe too many clean shots, he may not need to concern himself with Christophe’s ground game because he’ll e staring up at the arena lights! I highly doubt Beach will take any other approach other than applying as much pressure as possible from the moment the bell rings and continue that approach until he blasts Christophe with the one shot he needs for the knockout!

Xavier: The 25-year-old from Anvil brings the Renegade Warriors onto the scene with his entry into the cage. He’s been feelin’ himself since a change in management, and that’s reflected with his 5-fight winning streak! Confidence, trust and belief can go a very long way in this business, Styles, and he’s exuding all three. Yes, he’s a grappling-oriented warrior but don’t forget that he knocked out his last opponent early in the second round before signing his SFL contract. You know he’s putting added pressure on himself to keep that momentum going so he can make an impression in this organization right from the start! Since he can expect all-out aggression from Beach in this fight, Christophe should have the ability to be effective in counterattacking that aggression and maybe even knocking Beach out despite that not being his specialty, if you will. There’s no doubt Christophe wants to get this fight to the ground so he can control the pace and space while being very effective by outmaneuvering Beach before setting him up for any number of submissions at Christophe’s disposal! Christophe wins this battle by tapout and gets to return to his gothic-like castle a happy man!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier – Christophe by Submission; Styles – Beach by KO

WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP BATTLE: “MASTER” KOBAYASHI JIN (13-4; CURRENT STREAK: 2 WINS)
VERSUS
“BEAST FROM THE EAST” SERHEY RISHKINOV (17-4; CURRENT STREAK: 6 WINS)

Xavier: This battle for the Welterweight championship will certainly be intense, if nothing else, Styles! Combining for eight wins in a row, somebody is going to have to start their winning streak all over once the smoke clears from this fight. Add to the mix that these two locked horns previously in UnderGround, specifically at FC 105 where Rishkinov forced Jin to tapout in the middle of the third round via Triangle, and you better believe both men remember that encounter very well. Extra motivation to defeat Rishkinov will definitely be palpable as Jin looks to avenge that loss. A submission specialist, he brings good boxing, very good Muay Thai, solid wrestling and a black belt to this fight. Physically both of these men are quite evenly matched so skill and will are the determining factors here. Jin had a 10-fight winning streak at one point in time so he knows how to use momentum when it’s there. Make no mistake about it, this fight will be a struggle as well a measure of where he stands in this division. Obviously, if Jin wins the championship then he sits atop the proverbial mountain and that’s an indelible feat! Lastly, look for Jin to tenderize Rishkinov’s legs with multiple leg kicks. Jin becomes the champion by forcing Rishkinov to tapout!

Styles: The 26-year-old Russian from Moscow represents LEGION OF DOOM in this title fight and the 6-fight win streak he’s bringing with him to this fight speaks volumes about his abilities in the cage! Toss in the fact he has the psychological edge in this fight because he knows he can defeat Jin, and you have the makings of a warrior in a mission. He’s very popular with SFL fans already because of his aggression, along with his penchant to knock people out! Rishkinov is a very streaky fighter so when it’s going well, he’s quite a force in that cage. He has amassed six wins by TKO and has forced numerous other tapouts, so the guy can get it done in any area of fighting. There are some concerns about his chin’s ability to withstand powerful strikes but that can be solved with very good footwork and head movement. Solid boxing, good Muay Thai, outstanding wrestling and a black belt are what he brings to the table. Since both of these fighters are more at home on the ground, I think Rishkinov will be right at home trying to score a knockout over Jin using counterattacking measures. He knows he has the power to drop Jin but he also needs to make sure he stays away from the clinch because that’s where Jin may be able to take ample advantage of the skills he brings to the table. Rishkinov emerges as the welterweight champion by forcing Jin to tapout!

PREDICTIONS: Xavier - Jin by Submission; Styles – Rishkinov by Submission

HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP BATTLE: BLEEDING SPANNER (14-2; CURRENT STREAK: NONE)
VERSUS
ALEXIE “BRICK SHITHOUSE” BABINSKI (14-2; CURRENT STREAK: 7 WINS)

Xavier: These two hard-hitting behemoths have identical records for a very good reason. They’re both outstanding fighters and forces to be reckoned with! Spanner, the 26-year-old Irishman from Dublin, recently had an 11-fight win streak snapped at the hands of Alexei Babinski by bleeding out at UnderGround FC 124! He bounced with back with an early second-round knockout of Kilo Maluga and is looking to continue using that momentum. Representing The GBU, he’s a world class boxer with very good Muay Thai, very good wrestling and a brown belt. Aggressive with high-impact strikes, he’s been surprisingly involved in many battles that have boiled down to the judges’ scorecards. He’s won every fight he’s been in that ended in a decision so that’s a testament to his training regimen as well as his abilities and passion! Make no mistake about it. He wants to knock Babinski out so he can not only avenge that loss by TKO I referred to earlier, but to also prove to any doubters that he’s fully capable of bringing serious striking power when the time arises. Since knows what Babinski is capable of, his defensive capabilities will be sharper because he’ll have a far better understanding of what to look out for. Spanner wins this fight by knockout to claim the heavyweight championship and even the series between these two outstanding competitors!

Styles: Slightly taller and lighter than Spanner, the Russian from Kopeysk represents The Stepdads in this battle tonight. As you mentioned, X, Babinski has the psychological edge over Spanner because he made dude bleed like a victim in a slasher film! He also has major confidence due to the fact he’s only been knocked out once and has ended all but one of his fights before they reached the fifth round! That’s destruction and he has bone-crushing power! With seven KO’s and seven TKO’s, he likes to get in the cage, brutalize his opponent, overwhelm them with power then walk out with his hands raised high. With very good boxing, outstanding Muay Thai, solid wrestling and a purple belt, I think Babanski will look to slow down Spanner with various leg and body kicks, and try to land the devastating strikes from the counterattack! Both of them will be very aggressive during this fight because neither one of them wants this to go the distance and put the decision in the judges’ hands. They’re established themselves as men who get the job done and that’s exactly what they’ll want to do here tonight! Babanski will add to his very impressive array of knockout victories by wrecking Spanner’s chin enough times to make the big man tumble to the mat with his eyes wide in shock!

PREDICTIONS: Styles – Babinski by KO; Xavier – Spanner by KO

Styles: All right, good people, that’s our time yet again! Thank you very much for allowing us to bring our insight and perspectives to you. It’s our pleasure and we hope you enjoyed the show.

Xavier; It’s an honor and privilege for us to be able to share our opinions with you, and as always we thank the Stoner Fight League as well as Conquer, the outstanding merchandise partner of this organization! On behalf of Furious Styles, I’m Esiah Xavier, signing off. Take care, be well, be safe and we’ll see you at the fights!
