Welterweight - "Nom" Nom Nomm Unanimous Decisions "Clap" Igor Wietrzny

What a way to start the main card. Nomm got taken down pretty early on. After a few submission scares, he decided he put on enough of a show on the ground and kicked Igor off of him. On the feet, Nomm looked like he was completely in control. He was throwing like a mad man. The second round was entirely at the distance. Igor landed a few shots in there, but there was no doubt that Nom had everything under control. He just looked so relaxed! The final round saw a brief stint in the clinch, but that didn't last long. The two of them looked exhausted, but Nomm did everything right at the distance again. In a last ditch effort to finish the fight, Igor managed to take the fight to the ground and threw down a few submissions. It's a shame they didn't lock in, because that would have been an amazing comeback. But Nomm was the more dominant fighter and walked away with a nice 'W'.

Lightweight - Victor Bonifacio Split Decisions "Mini" Fenton Meeks

The fight opened up and it looked like Bonifacio was trying to use a classic Wall-n-Stall technique. But Meeks didn't want that kind of fight. At the distance, the two looked fairly even. But in the clinch Meeks looked like he was doing the better of the two. This round looked similar to the last. The fight took place at the same places, but Bonifacio was landing much more effectively that round. The final round was pretty close, the two went at it just as much as before. They both wanted the huge finish, but neither was able to finish the other off. It was Bonifacio that was able to walk away with his head held high this time.

Lightweight - Abu "Bonecrusher" Davee knocked out Suchart "Fishbowl" Chaowanungkarn with punches at 1:05 in round 2.

Man, Davee was all over this one. He was landing those head shots like there was no tomorrow. "Fishbowl" had a great plan, go for the body and legs with kicks, but Davee just kept throwing and landing. "Fishbowl" made it out of the first, but he took a lot of damage. The second round looked a lot like the first. It was a counter right hand that sent "Fishbowl" to outerspace, and a straight right to ground him. A great victory for Davee.

Co-Main - Lightweight - "Kana" Kuroda Atsushi submits "Douser" Johnny Woo with an armbar at 2:26 of round 1.

This was a quick one. Atsushi waas doing great at the distance. Woo tried to clinch it up, but that didn't last long. Woo took some serious damage before he could take it to the ground, but it was all for nothing; Atsushi threw up an armbar that finished things in a flash. A great display of skills from Atsushi.

Main Event - Welterweight Title! - Jake Shields dethrones Hepatitis See with a guillotine at 4:45 in round 5 to become the new welterweight champion.

Talk about your barn burners. The first round saw Jake take a bad cut early. I was worried they would have stopped the fight because of that. He worked through it and was able to get a takedon right into mount. From there he looked for submissions, but it was to no avail. The second round started with more punishment from See, before Shields was able to take him down again. From there he just worked on him some more until the second round came to an end. The third round is where things turned around. See was able to keep it standing the entire time. I mean Shields looked like he was in some serious touble there. Everywhere he got hit, there was a painfully bright looking red mark. The fourth round had See keep things up for the most part. He brought on the pain that he did in the third. Late in the 4th, a combination snapped Shields out of his funk and he was able to get a takedown. He did what he could to get a finish, but it wasn't enough. The final round had See try to finish things early at the feet, but it was not what Shields had in mind. Shields was able to get a takedown half way through the fight. If it was going to be a close call on the judge's cards who would take the round. Shields was doing what he could to prevent that from happening. He hopped up to grab a guillotine and cranked on it. And just as the round was about to end, See was tapping. An amazing display from the new welterweight champ Jake Shields.
