AD66: Fall Down Go Boom preview

Event Preview: AD66: Fall Down Go Boom
Aggressive Damage
2012-10-07, Montreal, The Expo
Author:Cause McDubree

Three key match-ups at the top of the card, with a LW title shot on the line for the winner of our Headliner, Pablo Santos (20-13) vs Per Saukko (16-10-1).  Both these die-hards have versatile games that they display every time out, so this eliminator promises to provide us with salivating slobberknocker. After a back and forth battle back at AD50 back at AD50, Per took the belt from Pablo via GnP stoppage in rd. 3 but relinquished it in his first defence against current title holder, Tony Parts.  That said, the winner of this toss up will have a clear path for a shot at the Champ in the near future.  Keep in mind he first takes on the highly ranked Felix Basilan at our first ever PPV, the super-stacked AD67: Greatest Show on Earth and the winner's obligated to defend against the last man standing in our Welterweight Rocky tournament; either Leandro Alves or Ryou Misaki.  So to the victor the spoils, as long as he doesn't lose the "stay busy" fight between now and then.

Our co-main sees Middleweights Nathan Audet (18-15-1) welcoming Lynard Carlson (18-9) to AD and with our just announced, latest Rocky tourney scheduled to go off in this division, these two will be jockeying for top seeds tonight.  Audet's scored himself a trifecta medal since signing on with the org three fights ago, winning by Dec. TKO and sub during that run.  Nate's not especially stellar in any discipline but he has displayed solid skills in all aspects and seems physically capable of capitilizing on his opponent's mistakes.  Carlson's a high-end striking practitioner who will want to keep this one on the feet at all costs.  He's seen some prominent success in his career while fighting for top orgs in NYC and looks to rekindle the magic here in Montreal with an early finish against the game Audet.

Leading up to those doozy's is a LHW rematch between ferocious striker Melvin Manhoef (20-21-1) and the more well rounded Joe Clark (21-11).  These two crossed paths back in '11 while signed to RAFL and it was Clark who came out on top with a first round stoppage- but that was then.  Since getting off to a disheartening 1-3 start with us, Manhoef's managed to alternate wins and losses to go 3-2 .  Most impressively, the L's were to one time champ, Joh Jah and current title contender Brian Schulte while all of his wins were the result of violent KO's inside the 6 minute mark, with the hit list including the well regarded Templeton Peck.  Clark will likely need to weather the early storm and start bringing the heat incrementally once the dust starts to settle to have his hand raised at the end.  AD fan fave Manhoef needs only to connect clean once to put his opponent to sleep and believes he'll be able to that against JC.

Odds for the entire event can be found at our official wager house so if you want to find out if your guy's the favourite or underdog, check the line there.  Got a chuckle out loud from Johhny's poster for Fall Down Go Boom so today we're accessing A Good Cause through the Bookmakers text link on the Event page-
