Hello ladies and gentlemen, to the review of a fight night 10, presented by yours truly, Sam McCarthy...please do not clap for me, it's embarrassing. Anyways, moving on, well this was a night when this steel cage right behind me (I'm literally narrating this by standing in front of the cage cause the organizers have said I'm not getting paid otherwise btw for context) became the stage for triumph and heartbreak and NAFL fight night 10 delivered everything fans crave, knockouts that shook the arena, grappling clinics that tested literally everyone's endurance and a main event that indeed did live up to it's hype. From early prelims to the final bell, the card showcased rising prospects alongside some seasoned pros just to remind us in case any of us forgot, how unpredictable mixed martial arts truly is, so without further adieu, let's analyze the bouts a little bit more closely...shall we?

UNDERCARD BOUTS

Right then, so before we truly move onto the big boy matchups for the evening, we had some serious action lined up on this packed undercard, cause tell you what these guys were hungry, fearless and boy weren't they ready to throw it down. Every punch, every kick and every move they made out there was a chance to prove themselves to the hierarchy of this organization that these 10 bright talents deserves their time under the spotlight too, so i hope you didn't blink during these bouts, as you'd have missed a helluva lot, because as we know it, the undercard is where the fireworks begin...

1) Shake "Chief" Spear vs Andrzej "Bebo" Bebok (Bantamweight Bout [135 LBS])

Result: Shake Spear won via submission (Kimura) Round 1.

2) Caden "Post" Malone vs Albert "Killer of Wysteria" Martinez (Bantamweight Bout [135 LBS])

Result: Caden Malone won via a brutal (Head Kick KO) Round 1 which indeed won him the Knockout of the night award.

3) Partick "The Trash Bag Killer" Kearney vs Tenzin "Tibetan Slaughterhouse" Tsering (Heavyweight Bout [265 LBS])

Result: Patrick Kearney won via a Unanimous Decision.

4) Renaldo "Chino Rican" Chang vs Kari Mountain (Middleweight Bout [185 LBS])

Result: Renaldo Chang won via some brutal ground n pound (TKO Cut) Round 1, btw the cut on Kari looked proper nasty.

5) Ze Jiurgite vs Cavalho "Papao" Atunes (Light Heavyweight Bout [205 LBS])

Result: Could have gone either way but Jiurgite won via an incredibly close Unanimous Decision.

MAIN CARD

Right then, so with the nitty-gritty bit of the event now firmly behind us, we move onto the stage where the big boys finally come to play, and so if the undercard was fireworks going off, then expect this main card to be nothing short of Iran vs Israel, with missiles flying everywhere...i won't keep you guys waiting any longer with my blabbering, don't worry, let's take a look at the bouts...

1. Viktor Van Der Sloot vs Philip Marcus (Featherweight Bout [145 LBS]

Now to kick off the main card, we witnessed a bit of a masterclass in grappling by one of the most technically sound fighters on our roster in Viktor Van der Sloot, as he just simply out grappled Philip Marcus in this completely one-sided contest.

Round 1 review: Well the fight did start with Marcus scoring a few early sneaky hits on Viktor, but soon enough it all came crashing down for him...Literally, as got countered upon and taken down to the mat, and from there on, unfortunately it was really an uphill battle for Philip throughout the round...To be fair he did thwart every submission attempt by Viktor during that round, but when the bell rang to signal the end of the round, Philip knew he got dominated.

Round 2 review: Much like the first round, Philip again got a few punches and kicks onto Viktor at the start of this round too, and mind you this time there was some good connections in them this time... but unfortunately disaster struck once again as he swifty got taken down to the mat once more during a moment when Philip just lacked abet of concentration, although credit when credit's due, he did manage to reverse the position very soon...but of course that didn't last long either as the superior grappling skills of Viktor Van Der Sloot finally came to the fore, as he singled one of Philip's arms and swifty locked in the devilish armbar, forcing Philip to tap out and thus end the first bout of the evening.

Result: Viktor Van Der Sloot wins via Submission (Armbar Round 2)

2.  Harry "Opie" Winston vs Aleksandr "Kowen" Zuev (Light-Heavyweight Bout [205 LBS])

Next up, this feature bout also happened to be the fight of the night award winners of this event, so tell you what, you're in for a feast on this one, so buckle up and join me for the ride as we take a closer look at what exactly transpired during this bout.

Round 1 review: This fight started pretty much on expected terms as Aleksandr being slightly superior technically standing up took full advantage of his abilities as he aggressively pushed forward with intent upon poor ol Harry, but although Harry managed to duck and counter and weave away from a few of the punches, the constant body shots took a toll on him as one of the punches, possibly a jab sneaked through his defences and produced a significant cut on his face and since then, possibly sensing Harry weakening due to the blood rushing out of the cut, Aleksandr pressed home his advantage and absolutely opened up with strikes in between clinches and some sneaky jabs and hooks here and there. Harry to his credit fought back, broke the clinch and managed to sneak in a few kicks and punches of his own, but by then the round was already lost.

Round 2 review: Round 2 started in pretty much the same fashion as round 1 ended, with Aleksandr getting Harry into a quick Clinch and getting to work on his head early with a few jabs and punches, but Harry again showed his resilience and broke the clinch, this time getting some proper leg kicks into Aleksandr, possibly leaving a slight reddish print on his calves, but at the end of the day, the Russians superior standup fighting abilities again laid bare for all of us to see, as he constantly kept going and connecting with Harry's head at regular intervals resulting in yet another dominating round.

Round 3 review: With both fighters now slightly tiring, they constantly exchanged clinches and kept probing each other with punches and kicks, mainly with Harry striking from a distance and Aleksandr closing in and striking within the clinch, but at the end of the day, the Russian was just that slightly better in every field, so with the final bell ringing to signal the end of the fight, it was clear for all to see who was that slightly bit better on the night.

Result: Aleksandr Zuev won
