Goood afternoon MMA fans! Jimmy Normal here, bringing you the goods on this weekend’s fantastic double feature brought to you by SMASH FC!  Grab your nuts and buckle up!  We’re in for a rough ride...

SMASH: Niska vs Bee

The H20 Arena - London

SMASH FC returned to it’s weekly spot at The H20 Arena in London and were welcomed back by 19,275 screaming fans.  The brand new concession booths were looking to be in a bit of disrepair and the arena owners, looking to save some expense, have fired the slower servers and added their duties to the security teams.  Fans were generally more well behaved.

205lb CONTEST:  Sol Kwon vs Soul Taker

https://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=1039401

Both fighters enter this bout on a bit of a tear.  Kwon is 4-1 in his last 5 fights, with his only loss coming at the hands of current Smash LHW Champion Cerberus Dionsy.  Taker is also 4-1 in his last 5 fights and seems to be picking up momentum since his change in management.

Kwon and Taker have their sights set on a stand up fight in this one, as they bring their gas tanks and proceed with high output striking exchanges.  The game plans are almost identical except for Taker utilizing the clinch  to his advantage and he walks away with a unanimous decision victory over the former title contender.

WINNER:  Soul Taker (UD)

205lb CONTEST:  Simon Gustafsson vs Paul Joseph Watson

https://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=1039403

The 2nd fight on the main card shares features a similar statistic with Cerberus Dionsy handing Simon Gustafsson his last loss.  Gustafsson appears determined to claw his way back into the title picture with a follow up submission win against Rayful Edmond and now has his sights set on PJW.  Paul Joseph Watson seems to have found a lucky charm in HW Champion Juha Niska.  Appearing on the same card in his last 3 fights, seems to be working in Watson’s favour as he has gone 2-0 when occupying the same building.

In the lead up to this fight, Gustafsson frequently spoke of his wrestling partners and their preparation for Watson, but he might be on the lookout for new sparring partners as he gets taken down right off the bat.  Watson meanwhile has been all Namaste in Brazil, practicing breathing techniques and Yoga stretches.  This seems to have paid off as he rebuffs the sub attempts by Gustafsson and secures a Kimura at 1:59 of the 1st round.  Looks like PJW will be back on the beach in no time to bask in his victory and the warm sunshine.

WINNER:  Paul Joseph Watson (SUB)

265lb+ CO-MAIN EVENT:  Ted Bundy vs Desi Kraag

https://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=1039402

Neither of these men rely on their BJJ credentials to win fights with a combined 24 KO’s in their 36 wins.  Bundy has watched the tapes and witnessed Kraag decimate his last 3 opponents with a single punch and this clearly played into his gameplan.

After dodging Desi’s first offensive, Bundy lands a takedown and looks to control his opponent on the mat.  Did I mention Kraag is a Black Belt?  If not, Desi Kraag is a Black Belt.  Bundy’s plan goes south in a hurry as Kraag, constantly moving, manages to find the opening and tighten up a guillotine for the win!

WINNER:  Desi Kraag (SUB)

265lb CHAMPIONSHIP - MAIN EVENT:  Juha Niska vs Inspektor Bee

https://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=1039404

The main event was set to be a barn burner, again, with 2 fighters unwilling to settle for a grappling match and 27 t(KO) victories between them both.  I now wonder who is the lucky charm on these cards, Juha Niska or Paul Joseph Watson?

Round 1 gets underway and both men get to work testing one another and looking for the advantage.  Niska lands a 1-2 near the end of the round and puts the challenger on the ground.  Bee gets waved to his feet and appears unsteady with a fresh cut opened up.

Niska drags Bee into deep waters and employs the clinch to batter his opponent.  The plan is working well in the 2nd as the Champion dominates the round.  The 3rd is a close contest fought in the clinch as well, but the scorecards show Bee stealing it from the champ.  The 4th round showcases more quality dirty boxing, but the tides could be turning here as Inspektor Bee finds a rhythm and lands a damaging elbow, cutting Niska in the process.

Going into the final round, each fighter has taken 2 a piece and Smash owner Kishion Mathew is suddenly fielding calls from fight sponsor hopeful Tampax...there is a lot of blood in the cage.  Both fighters are proving their resolve to keep this one out of the judges hands and are going for it! Niska and Bee trading shots at range and in the clinch, but after this war, neither has enough left to finish the other.  They hug it out at the final bell, but during the post fight interview Niska acts as though he wasn’t very close to losing his belt.  Great fight and the reigning Champ does just enough to retain his title.

WINNER:  Juha Niska (UD)
