Behind The Scenes: Pinoy Savagery

Fighter profile of Jeronimo Puno by Chris Karter

Los Angeles, CA - Inside the elite facility Convicted Fight Club is a tank-sized fighter that swings a giant two-handed warhammer at a tire. He effortlessly increases the velocity before finishing off his set one handed with a thunderous roar.

Standing before us is the 6-1 MMA fighter Jeronimo Puno, his glorious black mane drenched in sweat as it pours down his hairy back. His hairstyle a swaggy trend in Manila known as the Filipino Mullet, AKA the Pinoy Flat Top, and it's the exact do that his grandfather rocked in the cage over 25 years ago.

Generations of pure Pinoy Savagery run in his veins. Son of former #1 P4P Heavyweight and Syn' champ Kajun Puno. Grandson to former #1 P4P Heavyweight and Syn' champ Fidel Puno. Hailing from the nutsack of a dynasty of greatness obtaining anything less than the pinnacle #1 P4P spot would be a disappointment for the next great hype out of the Philippines. It's not so much if he will achieve it, but when he will.

Jeronimo is current signed to the SFL and 2-0 inside their cage. He had one set back early in his career where he was submitted during a lapse of concentration, a loss he'd later avenge in the SFL arena with a heel hook that earned him submission of the night honors.

He's currently scheduled to enter the Aloha Hoi Heavyweight  Multi-Million dollar Grand Prix hosted by the SFL. He and fellow SFL Heavyweight contender Kevin Mcguire are the early favorites to win it all. An invitation was sent out to all the 350K fighters in the land but only the bravest combatants heed its call and rally to the SFL doorstep.
