 Empire: GP145 Grand Finale Preview

G’Day I’m Julian “The Jackal”  Wallace (Your parent’s favorite fighter) and we have a nice looking card coming up in the GP145 Finale! Let's get straight into it.

Our first match is between 1-0 Tony “Chipmunk” Alvin Vs 0-0 Cezare “The Prince” Borgia. Both making their Empire debut, Tony and Cezare are both planning on making their mark in the competitive Empire 205 division.

It’ll be interesting to see how this fight plays out, with older fighter Tony already making his debut (winning a decision) and having a more grappling style, with nice clinchwork and some mediocre ground grappling.

On the other side of the cage from Tony is young and spry Cezare “The Prince” Borgia. Cezare is only 18 making him not one of the most skilled fighters, but he does have wonderful wrestling which we will see if he can use to his advantage.

Our second match is a rematch between 7-0 Ricardo "Monkey Style" Morra Jr Vs 5-1 Hukkelberry Flint. Both incredible fighters with Hukkelberry planning on getting revenge for his second round KO loss. If you remember, I said just a little bit ago Ricardo was going to cause problems in this division, but the other person I was considering was Hukkelberry. Though the fight went Ricardo's way last time, I think Hukkleberry could steal this one with his superior submission skills, definitely a good match to watch.

For our third match of the evening we have 3-2 #6 Jimmy "Killer Bee" Murphy Vs 2-1 #3 Valentino Piskochini. Jimmy is a very well rounded and skilled fighter, though his finishes are by submission he has shown off his great striking in past bouts and it would be nice to see how the rest of his career goes.

Standing across from him though is dangerous former title challenger and submission artist, Valentino Piskochini.

You can not let Valentino get you in a hold on the ground or he will lock something in and you will tap/nap/snap. Valentino has just recently fought for the title and is looking to bounce back to show he still is a huge threat for the champ. Make time to watch this bout as it will be an interesting watch.

And coming up next in the fourth match is 1-0 Sokhan "Terror" Gaki Vs 1-0 Alexander "The American Patriot" Adams. 2 skilled fighters who are recently coming off KO wins, it will be interesting to see who cements themself in the fight first.

Alexander has superb boxing skills (Bout the same as mine) and having his fight ending in a first round KO. Alex has very heavy hands, but he is also heavy himself… In fact I’ve heard he’s not even on weight right now, lets see how much that will affect the match.

Standing across from him is Sokhan “Terror” Gaki. Sokhan has incredible skills and wonderful Muay Thai, you better not let him control a fight because he will pick you apart, with his debut winning in dominating fashion and stopping his opponent early round 2.

This fight is a good watch for any of you knockout lovers out there.

And then in the fifth match of the evening is 4-0 Robert "The Child Catcher" Helpmann Vs 4-0 Ahura Mazda. Holy, I’m so excited for this match! These 2 undefeated young fighters are already so good at there age and could easily become p4p #1 in the future (This is of course after I retire).

Robert has been on a tear. Knocking out 2 of his opponents in a row and destroying his other opponents for 15 minutes straight (With some scorecards being 30-25 in his fights) Robert is so skilled and will cause lots of problems in this division.

On the other side of the cage is a huge test for him though as he will be fighting Ahura Mazda. Ahura has proven how skilled he is in his last 4 fights, dominating every single one. If anyone in this division could already look at fighting the champ, It would be Ahura. But of course he has a big match against Robert and this fight could go either way.

Everyone seriously needs to watch this one.

The fighters competing in the sixth match are 0-0 Rickson "Ricksoninho" Almeida Vs 1-0 Poritambe Munduruku.

Not too much to say about this fight as combined they’ve only had one fight. But that being said it’s still a great matchup between the 2, 18 year olds. With Rickson being a great Jiu Jitsu fighter holding a brown belt and Poritambe having wonderful wrestling skills.

Lets see how this fight goes.

Now the next 2 fights I have already written about but if you never read that or can’t remember what I said, here they are.

Big fight coming up soon between 6-1 Champion Ricardo “The Soca Warrior” Miles vs 2-0 #1 Contender Jubei Akechi. Though there is a 6 fight difference between the 2, they are incredibly well matched up skills wise, both holding purple belts in BJJ, Ricardo Miles holds the wrestling advantage while Jubei has the better stand up, knocking out former champion Michael Howardson in the first round.

145GP Grand Finale takes place between the 2 young undefeated fighters, 4-0 “Slick” Steve Barnes Vs 3-0 “Troublesome” Matthew Fritz. Fighters who seem like they’re going to cause havoc in their division in the near future, but who will come out on top between them?
