HFC KO 2 - Havoc Vs. Cabrera Event Review

Folks, this night was just bonkers.   The Champ VS. Champ fight gave us 3 action packed rounds, KO’s were all over the place and statements were made by multiple fighters saying “I am here come and get it”.   After a night like this, the HFC is extremely excited.  They will have their hands full getting the rankings in order as there is sooo much great talent in this Organization.  President J.W. Hardman embraces the challenge. “It gets tougher every week, but I love it.  Every event is bigger, all our fighters are improving, and our roster continues to grow.  Me and the HFC team are processing all of this and making great cards every week”.    Let’s jump into this card and look at the fights.

©Heller Cabrera (10-1) defeats ©“The Maniac”  Wreak Havoc (11-3) via Decision (Unanimous) - 145lb Featherweight non-title cross promotion bout (Fight of Night).

Tonight was not Havoc’s night.  Our champ fought valiantly through three brutal rounds.  Cabrera’s punching was just relentless, he ripened the body and face of our beloved  Havoc.  Post fight Havoc said “Man, tonight I was outclassed, going in, we knew his boxing was top class but when you’re in there live it's just different”.  We know our champ will be back stronger than ever defending his belt against a hungry opponent soon. I will say this must be encouraging for any HFC 145lb contender; the champ can be beaten.   Hats off to Cabrera, he is only 20 years old and clearly has a bright future.  Perhaps another super fight between HFC and WolfPac Fighting Alliance can take place in the future.

Conor “Eat Meat” Butcher (6-0) defeats Arnao Vanegas (4-2) via 1st round TKO (Strikes) - 155lb Lightweight bout.

It's really rare I get to use a quote from my event preview in my post fight write up, but….drum roll please…. “Conor Butcher gets a fresh slab of meat after he finishes Arnao with some nasty ground and pound.” - Me HFC KO 2 Preview.  This tells the whole story folks.  Quick takedown for Butcher early in round one, move to mount, proceed to bash and then proceed to party. Conor Butcher now sits at #2 in the rankings, we will keep an eye on this red hot undefeated contender.

Boris Balkan (3-0) defeats Fred Freds (4-3) via 2nd round KO (Punches) - 265lb Heavyweight bout.

Boris Balkan confirmed what pretty much all of us thought.  He is pretty darn good.   By knocking out Freds he solidified himself in the top ten and could be drawing a legitimate contender next.  “I'm excited” Boris said, “I know I'm the young buck of the division but when the ref says “fight” does age really matter?.... No! Skill, size and strength matter, and in those aspects I am willing to compete with ANYONE”.  Strong words from a brute of a man, another fun prospect to keep an eye on.   On the other side Freds needs to get back in the W column.  Look for him to draw a top 15 opponent next.

John “Horse” Henry (5-1) defeats Mild “Peppa” Paplano (3-1) - 155lb Lightweight bout.

Here’s a great example of a pre-fight prediction being wayyy off.  We thought this would be a back and forth chess match with each fighter feeling each other out for a bit.  Henry was having none of that.  Out of nowhere, less than a minute in,  John “Horse” Henry unloaded a bomb that put Paplano down.  We all knew Paplano had to get the fight to the ground for him to stand (pun intended) a chance.  Henry knew if that did happen it would not be good.  Hats off to Henry for great execution, he is rewarded with a place in the top 10 and KO of the Night Honors.

UnderCard

Such a great undercard.  The judges took the early part of the night off as every fight was a finish.  I swear after the third fight they just stopped working for a while and took a break.  Shout out to Balink Tarlah as he deservingly cracks the 155lb top 10 rankings for the first time after his performance.   Every fighter that won on the undercard is now ranked somewhere in the top 10 of their divisions.  HFC does a great job of keeping their fighters active, and making fights that promote healthy division movement.
