Hardcore Media Presents: Rovi Flexner

Fighter profile of Rovi Flexner by Outlaw Bleak

Hello HARDCORE MMA fans!  Welcome to another sit down with Hardcore Media featuring fighter Rovi Flexer.

This interview was held a couple of weeks ago prior to his fight with Ryu Hamada.  If you have seen the resutls of that fight, you might find some humor to this interview as we crack open the fighter that is Rovi Flexner.  A rough and rigid personality who shows more respect in the cage than out.  A true warrior, and not one to hold back his thoughts.

J.W. "Hello Rovi, thank you for sitting down and talking with me today. I know you are busy, as am I, so I will make this as brief as possible. Looking ahead, less than two weeks away you have a fight coming up against Ryo Hamada. How do you feel at this point in your training as you prepare for that fight?"

Rovi " I feel good, my training is good, new gym and a very nice one with good fighters in it. They have one of the best kickboxing trainers in the game and I am glad that can teach me new things so I can chop the motherfuckers legs. "

J.W. "What is your mind set going into that fight? You are sitting at 5-2 and on a 3 fight win streak. I know you want to keep that streak alive, so how focused are you?

Rovi "Yes, 5-2... I wanted to be 7-0 but you know... It is what it is. My first loose come with Bogger and I was at the beginning of my career, second loose come with a heavy handed Shelby. and this guy is no joke, today I am the only one who was fighting at 3 round with that guy and my opinion is that I won that one but never leave a fight on the judges. And the rest 3 wins are fine on my record but I wan t more.’’

J.W. "Hamada comes in at 3-1, having just lost his last bout against Payakaroon in the HFC tournament finale. I am sure he will be looking to bounce back after that loss, do you think he will have anything special reserved for your fight?"

Rovi "This guy Hamada or what is his name is a cool guy, at a conference he don t maked trash talk or something, I give big respect for him and I will love to do my best with him in the next fight. Tough guy, good stand up, good bjj but my plan is to do what I do, what I do? I can KO guys, grapple guys and of course slam guy so hard to the mat."

J.W. "You've been in HFC as well as SMASH back before HFC took over the roster. How do you feel about HFC, and how would you compare HFC to SMASH that you knew before?"

Rovi " HFC is great, I wanted for a long time to be here but my manager negotiated with someone before the hype, my friend Tarlah from 155 is here and he alwys says to me that I will be great here. In smash was hard, fights were a little bit hard for the newcomers. When I fighted Nathan fucking Dylan in my second fight in mma he was already 5 fights in front of me and is hard or when I accepted the fight with James pussy Bogger that nobody accepted I was 2-0 and experience 0..."

J.W. "Do you have any words for your upcoming opponent, Hamada?"

Rovi  "Any words? Buddy let s do a nice fight and let s try to be very serious, both we need a win and if will be idk... a draw or a win for me? I will try to move to 185 or fight at 170 with Nathan Dylan and after this with Bogger. ‘’

J.W. "And how about those HFC fans?? Aren't they great? Anything you would like to say to them before your fight?"

Rovi "When I came here i brought my own fans, HFC must give me a beer or something because is an honor to have Rovi Silver Flexner.’’

J.W. "So, Rovi, tell me about your nick name? Silver isn't very common by itself. You might hear quick silver, silver striker, or something like that, but just silver? Fans can be mislead by this. Do you always come in 2nd and win a silver medal? Are you one of those guys who is already full of silver hair before even hitting 30? Give us the scoop!"

Rovi ") He he, good one with the 30 and all of that man but no. When I was little i watched cartoons and I liked the X men series a a lot! Quick Silver, Magneto son and tried to run like him but every time when my mom was not at home I hurt my self outside with the kids or everywhere because I never was a good runner and my mom says one day to not give up and when she pronounced Quick from "Quick Silver" I continued with Silver, and this is it. Bad for me that my mom broke up with my dad when I was 8 and I moved to USA and stared boxing but I will never forget that days when I was Silver’’

J.W. "Tell the fans a little bit about yourself, who's the real Rovi Flexner away from the cage?"

Rovi "Rovi Flexner is a good guy, a good friend if you know how to talk to me and show me respect if not I will fuck you up. I was moving with my dad in USA and he never wanted me to stay there with him so at 21 I moved and never talked with him only with my mom on Skype because is my mom. I stared boxing at 9 and Japanese jiu-jitsu at 10, my father was himself a trainer at boxing so... This is the only good thing that he do it in his life. I looking to make my money, if I will fight for the belt is no problem if not, same for me. Is only a belt, I think at 31-31 I will retire because I don t want problems for my head, I am a fighter that get in a fight easy and is bad for my brain. And this is it, I wanna make money and make a business and make a name for myself.’’

J.W. "Thank you for your time Rovi, and good luck on your upcoming fight. I will be watching and maybe Ill catch up with you after the fight!"
