GP 33 O Neil vs Nemesis Preview

205lbs Title Fight - Geezers Palace light heavyweight champ Mickey O Neil is set to defend his crown in what will be an outstanding rematch against the young and hungry Zork Nemesis. Their last contest was a rather one sided affair in which O Neil nearly finished the fight with a crippling right hand, rocking his opponent and sending him to the canvas. Nemesis showed true grit and determination by gutting it out and fighting until the final bell and he knows that he can take some of O Neil's hardest shots while retaining the heart of a lion. Flaunting a 3 fight win streak and coming fresh off a brutal head kick knockout victory gives a huge momentum advantage to the challenger. He also cut a fair less amount of weight than the champion which might benefit him in the later rounds. Despite the kicking abilities of Nemesis, O Neil has a daunting muay thai advantage and will surely be looking to expose his foe mainly in the clinch.

185lbs - Hacksaw Jim Duggan will be hopefully making weight as he is scheduled to fight mean muggin Russian Eyeonly Fuckwell. This fight is actually a rematch stemming from their first bout in April. Duggan surprisingly beat this slimy Russian by form of TKO, snapping his 4 fight win streak. The styles of these middleweight titans are, as Mike Goldberg would say, virtually identical. They both enjoy throwing heavy leather and often end up recieving it on the rough end of the spectrum. This is a good fight not to bet on but I think Duggan will get him with a Bonerbar in the late rounds.

265lbs - Heavy hitting rising star Gun Slinga looks to further his success by putting a royal beatdown on Quantrelle Jackson, a South African muay thai practicioner who hails himself as 'big dirty'. Slina is a young and hungry up and comer, and seems to have learned the game very fast at only 21 years old. He has finished his last 4 opponents over some grueling battles, showing lots of heart and pursuit for the finish. Jackson has shown his submission capabilities in the past and it could prove to be a factor in this bout. He will need to avoid a boxing match and try to force a grappling exchange or a tie up to be successful with his skills.

265lbs - The classic striker vs grappler matchup will be on display in it's purest form as Ingo Pavlik looks to replicate his prior performance against heavy hitter Golden Boy. These guys have locked horns in the past, with Pavlik emerging victorious with a seamless Kimura in the very first frame. Golden Boy is basically a pure grappler, rarely throwing strikes and only intent on fighting in his comfort zoneIf he can't manage to secure a takedown he will be at a large disadvantage. Both men are actually coming off 3 fight losing streaks and will be hopeful to once again taste victory.

170lbs - Durable punching Jargo Leek will be looking to smash some teeth in and end his 2 fight losing streak when he faces off against skillful ground fighter Bin JinJu in the welterweight division. Leek has a tremendous advantage on the feet and is very confident in his boxing skills but has shown a major hole in his submission defense. The Shaolin Creeper aka Bin JinJu is a highly talented black belt with supplemental muay thai skills to boot. There is no surprise in the camp of JinJu, they want to take Leek down and expose the flaws in his ground game without getting hit in the process.
