KCM - The Avenging Fist" took place tonight at "The Underground" in Las Vegas, Nevada.  It was a great night of fights for a near sold out crowd of die hard MMA fans.  Let's take a brief look at how things unfolded ...

Tyrus Murphy (1-1) vs Georges Georges (0-6)  *185 Pounds

As I predicted would happen, Tyrus Murphy picked up his first win via 2nd round armbar submission.  Murphy dominated for the entire fight taking down Georges 3 times during the fight, landing 37 strikes and attempting 7 submissions.  Georges should seriously consider another profession or at a minimum, switching to Kalashnikov MMA Gym to get some elite training.

Barney Assjacker (2-2) vs Luke Opilka (0-2)  *170 Pounds

Barney dominated this fight winning via unanimous decision (30-24/30-24/30-24).  Basically, Opilka did not show up for this fight as his only output was one head punch.  Assjacker mixed things up well as he worked well from the clinch, landing punches to the head and body, using his elbows extensively, connecting 30 times and using his knees to the head and body too.  It's hard to tell where these fighters go from here.  Assjacker looked good, but who doesn't look good when their opponent does not show up to fight?  That said, I predicted Opilka to win, so I'm 1-1 on the night, so far.

Geronimo Apache (4-4) vs Noel Diaz (1-2)  *155 Pounds

I predicted this fight correctly and like I said in my preview, Diaz hype was due to his name affiliation alone.  This was an action packed fight, though it only lasted for 1.5 rounds.  Right off the bat, Apache took Diaz down and was looking for submissions.  Basically, that is the tale of this entire fight as Apache had 11 submission attempts, while landing 27 ground strikes.  He won via TKO due in the 2nd round due to an elbow, followed up with punches to the head.  I'm 2-1 for this event.

Dickie Murphy (2-1) vs Mike Chang (1-1)  *185 Pounds

I said in the preview >>> "If the fight stays on the feet, Murphy will probably KO Chang and I think his wrestling is sufficient enough to fend off any submission attempts that Chang attempts" ... and that is exactly what happened in this fight!  Chang attempted 7 takedowns and that was it.  Murphy landed 9 punches from the clinch and he TKO'd Chang at 1:17 of round one.  3-1 now.

Stephen Jackson (1-6) vs Jourdan Peppers (1-0)  *205 Pounds

There is not much to say here.  Peppers through 5 punches and connected on each one of them, KO'ing Jackson on the final punch.  Jackson is another fighter that might want to seek other employment as fighting does not seem like a good fit for him.  I had no pick for this fight.

Dirk Ironfoot (1-2) vs Novak Strasur (3-2)  *205 Pounds

This was another quick fight and it won Novak Strasur KO of the Night.  Five punches were thrown and three of them connected, specifically, the final punch thrown by the winner of the fight, Novak Strasur at 48 seconds of the first round.  I leaned Strasur, but I did not make an official pick for this fight.

Islam Ramazanov (2-0) vs Eduard Folayang (0-1)  *170 Pounds

Like I said in the Preview, Folayang should have rested for at least 3-4 days before this fight.  He over-trained for this fight and it showed.  He landed one punch for this fight and that was it.  Ramazanov landed his one and only take down and from there, he landed multiple strikes and ended the fight via Kimura submission at 3:57 of round one.  With that submission, Islam won the Submission of the Night award.  Updated prediction record 4-1.

Walter White (3-2) vs Shelton Benjamin (3-1)  *155 Pounds

This was another lopsided and dominating performance for this event.  White did not do much of anything, except be a punching bag for Benjamin.  White had one take down in the fight and that was it.  On the other hand, Benjamin connected on everything.  From the clinch, he landed 31 punches in total and he also landed 12 punches at distance.  Surprisingly, this fight went in to the 3rd round where Benjamin knocked White out cold at 2:30 of the 3rd round.  Updated prediction record 5-1.

Sisiphus Aioros (2-1) vs Lee Murray (3-0)  *185 Pounds

Lee Murray was fortunate in this fight as he was taken down immediately and he did just enough to force the Referee to stand the fight up.  From there, he threw a body shot to the Aioros Liver and he followed that up with a superman bunch knocking Aioros out cold!  Updated prediction record 6-1.

Davy Quick (6-0) vs Jimmy Bowie (2-1)  *205 Pounds

I think Davy Quick just earned himself a Title shot for his performance in this fight.  Bowie did nothing in this fight as he threw zero punches.  Quick threw a total of 6 punches, connecting on five of them and he KO'd Bowie at 29 seconds of the 1st round.  This fight was awarded the Fight of the Night.

Ok, so to wrap up this event, I went 7-1 on my predictions as posted in my Preview.  Be sure to buy your tickets for Kalashnikov Combat MMA's next event, "KCM - Fist Fight" on Saturday 12/24/16 where 3-0 Mike Mathis will be taking on 3-0 Salva Gomez in the main event.  This event will be held at The Underground in Las Vegas, Nevada.
