DFC - Las Vegas Proudly Presents Mayhem 8 Klein vs. Lahey

Preview and Predictions by Jay Lawrence

On September 2nd, DFC brings another exciting event to the people of Las Vegas and MMATycoon.  This event will be held at Hayashi's Lounge and bets are rolling in quick at Sin City Bookies.  The owners of Sin City Bookies have offered a $25,000 bonus to any manager who correctly predicts the winner of each fight.  Predictions MUST be placed in the DFC Smacktalk prior to the event airing.  Additionally, this may or may not be the last event sponsored by Bad Company Fightwear who's owner went missing after a ride on a small airplane over the Sierra Nevadas in early August.  The search party has located parts of the wreckage, but Frankie Fasthands is believed to be deceased.  DFC will be holding a small memorial at Mayhem 8 to commemorate Frankie Fasthands and Bad Company Fightwear.  DFC has also send $1,000,000.00 in funds to the surviving family of Frankie Fasthands.  However, the partnership with DFC and Bad Company will be ending and DFC will soon be announcing their new partner!

Main event Boris Klein vs. Jim Lahey for Heavyweight Title

Boris Klein (2-0-0)
25 years old

230 pounds

190cm
Managed by Zuzana Holm

Stand up boxer with good wrestling skills

Last fight - win by decision vs. Arrin Mccreth @ Sin City 3 on 8-6-16.

Jim Lahey (4-0-0)

25 years old
256 pounds
202cm

Managed by Rambro Schmal

Muay Thai fighting with good wrestling skills

Last fight - win by decision vs. Paul Evans in QFC on 7-31-16

These two fighters are very evenly matched. There only difference really is Lahey's Muay Thai skills.  Boris comes in with wins over more challenging opponents (James Myers and Arrin Mccreth) and Lahey has not really been challenged yet. This fight will likely remain in the standup and clinch.  Expect each fighter to be trying to the head off their opponent right from the start.  my money is on Jim to win it by decision though, but perhaps that is because I am partial to the Muay Thai fighter.

Co-Main Event - James Myers vs. Arrin Mccreth

These two have something in common - they have both lost to the champion Boris Klein. Mccreth did slightly better in his fight vs. Klein, but James Myers bounced back after Klein and scored a first round underdog win vs. Le Monstre on 8-6-16.  Both of these fighters are fans of the stand up and have very limited abilites on the ground.  Myers probably has the better punch, but Mccreth has a tough chin.  This one is difficult to predict, but I think Myers will find a way to win in the first round by KO.

Granat Zhaka vs. Asdrubal Corachan

These two fighters had impressive wins in their QFC careers, but they have put QFC behind them and look to make their professional debut with DFC here.  This is a class standup fighter vs. ground attack.  Xhaka is a Muay Thai fighter with strong takedown defense, but will that defense hold the grappling artist of Corachan at bay?  To supplement Corachan's ground skills, he is a decent boxer and Muay Thai fighter too.  Balanced fighters have a tough time making head way in MMA, but Corachan may have figured something out.  I just don't think it will be enough to finish Xhaka.  I've made my bet at Sin City Bookies for Xhaka to win this one and I think he will do it by KO in round 2.

Robbie Billie vs. Petie Mcpot

Billie had a tough debut at DFC vs. current champ Artur TheAxe, but he has since then proven his capabilities as a competent fighter.  Petie Mcpot is not a pushover fighter for Billie though. Both fighters prefer the ground game, however neither fighter has managed a single submission.  Their combined 4 wins have all come by decision.  I don't think this fight will be much different, expect these fighters to leave this one to the judges and I think Billie will have the judge's favor.

Jackie Lee vs. Gabriel De Angelico

This will be an interesting bout as young 20 year old Jackie Lee will be taking on the 25 year old De Angelico. Angelico is a stronger fighter in every category other than Muay Thai, but I think Jackie will surprise us.  Jackie is managed by Blake Phoenix who has a knack for figuring out how to win. I predict Jackie to do just that and he will probably do it quick...perhaps a KO in the first round!

Soloman Palmer vs. Connor Mcdavid

These two fighters are both coming off strong wins almost 2 months ago now. With 8 weeks of training it will be interesting to see how they have developed.  McDavid is the better fighter in term of skill and he is the only one of the two to have finished an opponent.  Both undefeated, both young fighters in DFC, whoever comes off with a win here will likely be securing a good future for themselves.  Whoever loses might have to get a second job to pay the bills.  I suspect Palmer will find a way to win and I think he will do it in the second round by KO.

Sausage McMuffin vs. Renato Sanches

On paper Sausage appears to be the better fighter in just about every category.  This will likely be Sausage's fight to lose, but it will be challenging. Both specialize in ground fighting, but Renato has a strong kick that could knock out anyone out there.  I expect Sausage to win by submission, but I wouldn't be surprised if Renata finds a way to finish the fight first.

Victor Lutko vs. Rolo Hardware

These two debuting youngsters will be hitting the cage for the fans and trying to impress the staff at DFC. Unfortunately both managers have gone inactive since accepting the fight and we don't really care what happens here.  Rolo will probably win, but only because Lutko has been abused worse.  Security will be standing by after this fight to remove both of these fighters from the cage and give each their pink slip.

Basil Super vs. Marty Delgado

I am excited about this fight. Both 18 year olds with balanced builds and active coaches.  It is going to be very interesting how this ends up.  Marty has not yet been in a cage in any MMA event and Basil only has 25 seconds of cage time (that's all it took for him to finish the one opponent he has had). It is anyone's guess how this one will end, but Basil was impressive enough in his debut that I think he will take this one too.

Opening fight - Christoph Griffinsky vs. Shane Robinson

This card is full of 18 year olds starting off their young careers, so why would the opening fight be any different?  To start off the teen fest that is this event, we have two very capabale stand up fighters who are cross-training in ground fighting. If this stays in the standup, Griffinsky has a slight advantage, but if it goes to the ground Shane has the potential to get the win here. This is a tough one to predict, but I think Griffinksy will get his hand raised for the first time after the fight is left to the judges.

DFC brings you another exciting Friday Night Mayhem!  We have plenty of fights going on, mostly with 18 year old teens going at it there will be a lot of scouting and managers evaluating their fighters to determine their future potential.  Additionally expect Jay Lawrence and DFC Staff to be in the VIP booth watching their future stars perform for the people.
