Hey yo what's up MMA world here is Victorio again! And I am bringing the preview of LKO's upcoming event - LKO 12 Debaser on 30 Jul in Hard Knocks - New York. There will not be any title fights on the line but I am sure the matchups are interesting enough to catch your eyes!

FW bout: Lauri Lintunen L vs Stephen Warner

First fight of the night we have two 24 year old FW warriors that are ready to go. The red corner Lauri Lintunen L is a 6-2 prospect who won his LKO debut recently by first round submission. He has very impressive purple belt level Jiu-Jitsu but vulnerable against brown belts. Anyway, his opponent Stephen Warner isn't a brown belt, he's a decent Muaythai striker who has good knockout power and a weak chin. He also lost to a BJJ purple belt in his LKO debut recently. I am not sure about Lintunen L's striking but with Warner's recent loss, his confidence will bring him down so I'm picking Lintunen L by submission.

WW bout: Jack O Donald vs Olaf Thorsson

This is a matchup between 0-2 Jack O Donald and 2-0 rising star Olaf Thorsson. O Donald is winless in his career and all of his losses are by finishes, one submission, one TKO, both in the first round. He's unable to show off his decent boxing in his career so far and his opponent, Olaf Thorsson is going to give him hell. As a 20 year old prospect, he has world class Muaythai and BJJ brown belt as his strongest parts in his game. Even though he's not a good finisher, his skills are ahead O Donald by a wide margin so I'm picking Thorsson by anything he wants.

MW bout: Jan Paul Valens vs Joe Laston

This is an interesting matchup between 18 year old debutant Jan Paul Valens and a 25 year old Joe Laston with 2-1 record. Valens hasn't fought but we all know he's a high level wrestler with BJJ blue belt. He's going to show it off without a doubt against wrestleboxer Joe Laston who has heavy hands but also a suspect chin. I believe Valens will win the ground battle and Laston will win the standup battle, it's not an easy pick but I will go with the more experienced Laston by TKO.

HW bout: Bas Buitenwesten vs Fedor Vladimirovich

Two 24 year old prospect are ready to bang! The red corner Bas is 4-0 and won all of his fights by (T)KO. He's an elbow machine in the clinch and has shown his ability to cut, punish and even submit his opponents with his elbows. His counterpart Fedor better be careful as he's a clinch wrestler. Fedor is a good prospect though as he's 3-1 and he has decent wrestling who loves to clinch and takedown, also his GnP is dangerous but I can see him having a hard time trying to outclinch Bas. I believe the undefeated prospect will score a finish there as we all know Fedor has a suspect chin.

WW bout: OJ Nordberg vs Hershel Hasselhoff

This fight is between two 19 year old WW prospects with 1-0 record. The red corner OJ Nordberg is a world class Muaythai striker who showed his head kick technique in his lone win. He's managed by tactician Mamado and he will be looking for another win against the BJJ brown belt Hershel Hasselhoff. The BJJ expert won his lone fight by first round submission and he's looking for another quick finish against the dangerous Nordberg. Stylistic matchup is always interesting but also hard to pick a winner. Since I'm a friend of Mamado, I am biased this time and would go with Nordberg.

BW bout: Joseph Wolf vs Leo Carmicheal

Two undefeated 25 year old fighters are clashing. The red corner Joseph Wolf is a world class wrestler with decent Muaythai. He has shown his well-rounded gameplan in his lone win as he's able to use his boxing to outstrike his foe and also the ability to dirty box effectively. Can his gameplan work against the 2-0 Leo Carmicheal? Leo is a BJJ purple belt with some Muaythai and wrestling skills. All of his wins are by submissions so if he could bring the fight to the mat, Wolf will be done but Wolf's world class wrestling will prevent it to happen and I'm sure he can brutalize Carmicheal in the clinch.

Openweight bout: William Adama vs Shotgun Trua

This is a very intriguing matchup between two veterans in the sport. The red corner William Adama is 23-19 and has fought many world class fighters in his career. He's a high level striker with dangerous power with his punches, kicks and knees but also a weak chin as he received 15 losses by (T)KO. His opponent Shotgun Trua is also that type of fighter who has good power and a weak chin. Their striking skills are similar and Trua has better overall ground game but I assume this will be a standup war. With Adama's chin, I don't think he can make it as he lost his last two fight by (T)KO. I am picking Trua by finish.

Openweight bout: Quirinus Saturn vs Saint Nick

Damn, this matchup is insane! They are both 300 pounds huge motherfuckers and their record is also insane! 1-0 vs 35-10! That's such a huge difference between their experience and I'm sure this fight won't disappoint. The red corner Saturn is 1-0 who has decent boxing and the ability to finish a fight real quick. But he's facing the hard hitting Saint Nick who's 35-10 with all of his wins by (T)KO! His power is crazy but most of his wins are against QFC level competition so actually this fight is closer than you think.  Nick is more experienced, more skilled boxer but his morale is almost zero despite riding a 7 fight win streak so I go with the much greener Saturn by TKO.

Co-main event

Openweight bout: Vaclav Mika vs Jesse McGulloch

This is the co-main event of the evening folks! 15-8 Vaclav Mika is facing 5-3 Jesse McGulloch. Mika is a good fighter who is the former 2-time USFC title challenger but he lost his last two fights by TKO and now his morale is very low. Despite a better skilled fighter, he will have a hard time against McGulloch who's holding the CTS HW belt. He's a type of kill or killed fighter who put lots of bad intentions to his strikes. He hits hard enough to finish Mika who has 8 (T)KO losses with very low morale. I am calling a upset in this one.

MAIN EVENT

Openweight bout: Subotai Hyrkanian vs Sam Crow

This is the main event folks! And this is another low morale vs high morale matchup. I don't know what can I say. The red corner Hyrkanian has low morale but he's coming off a win against Crow, yeah Hyrkanian beat Crow before and this is the rematch. To sum up the first fight, Hyrkanian simply just kept looking to clinch and dirty box but with real low accuracy. His aggressiveness won him the fight. Crow was able to outbox him at distance but failed to keep Hyrkanian away from him. I'm sure their gameplan will be the same but with Hyrkanian's low morale, his highly aggressive gameplan will cost him. I think Crow can get a finish this time.

So yeah this is the preview of LKO 12 Debaser. All the matchups are interesting and I can't wait for them! Thanks for watching and see you next time!
