To have the best fighters.
To run the best organization.
To train my fighters to perfection.
To break down every single aspect of this game and use my mathematical prowess to crack the code.
All of the above are solid answers, but all are missing one particular aspect: THE FIGHTS!
To be the best, you have to fight. To have the best fighters, you have to fight. To run the best organization, you have to have the biggest and best fights. Why train your fighters to perfection unless they fight? You crack the code to win the fight. The fight is why I keep coming back.
My favorite moments are the anticipation leading up to the fight. I might log on once or twice a day to do a final scout of my opponent, and make some tiny adjustments to my sliders. Then, about thirty minutes before the fight, I log into Tycoon and wait. Ill go check some other sites, browse the forums, drop a troll post or two, and keep checking the time. On the hour, Ill go get a drink or get a smoke. By the time thats done its about seven minutes after the hour. I wait for the magic number to hit twelve, when the fight finally shows up on my spoiler page. Thats when the blood starts boiling and the heart beats a little faster.
The enjoyment of reading a fight for the first time is probably the most fun experience in this game, regardless of the outcome. To me, the outcome has become secondary to this tradition. If I win, Im happy, especially if its over a superior opponent I thought I had no chance of beating. If I lose, and its an upset, it stings for a bit, but then I realize how many times Ive been on the other end of an upset.
Once the fights over, I miss it already. I want that feeling of anticipation back. I want another fight. All the training, all the changes of clothes, all the slider adjustments, all the calculating, it all leads up to that moment every few weeks where you see if you really are better than the other guy.Good managers their fighters in getting the best training, and know when their fighter will pop and peak almost to the second.Good managers do a lot of things right leading up to the fight. But the great managers, well, great managers win fights, and the rest just doesnt really matter.
