USFC 81 Preview

Hey what up MMA world? Here is Victorio! It's been a long time since my last write up and I'm back in action! I am bringing an anticipating event: USFC 81 which is taking place in Liberty Dome, New York on 21st November so ready for your tickets! This event has no title fights on the line and we have two solid HW contenders to headline the event as the former two-time title challenger Scott Parker is colliding against another former title challenger Vaclav Mika. This gon' be good. The rest of the card is going to deliver too as we have fighters from top to bottom layers and from different weightclasses there so......what are you waiting for? Let's take a look at the preview first!

LHW bout: Maxwell "The Great" Koko (5-7, 1-6 in USFC) vs Dido Vicini (0-0)

Starting off the event we have two young LHW fighters, one looking to rebound, and one looking to shine. The red corner Maxwell Koko used to be a 4-1 fighter before joining USFC who is known of his purple belt BJJ skills. Anyway, perhaps the competition in USFC is too much for him so his career went downhill since then. He is 1-6 in the org and somehow still having love of it. But he has to win a fight so bad. Anyway, Koko isn't going to have an easy time to score a win against David Morrison's own Dido Vicini. In first glance I thought his name is dildo but nevermind. He's a 20 year old BJJ brown belt who has yet fighting in MMA but already took a match in TWGC which he lost. Still, his BJJ skills is something that can expose Koko's vulnerable defensive grappling once again. Losing three times by submission in USFC against blue belt, purple belt and brown belt fighters, I don't see Koko can survive against Vicini, who's manager is known for managing submission artists. Despite having no experience so far in MMA, Vicini should get a win in his debut. I would say by first round submission.

Prediction: Dido Vicini wins by first round submission

FW bout: Cedric "The Flash" Jackson (5-13, 3-6 in USFC) vs Jimmy "Little Superfly" Snuka (5-10, 0-1 in USFC)

For our second fight in the event, we have two rather experienced FW fighters who really want to get a win. USFC veteran Cedric Jackson has 9 fights in the org but only managed to win 3 and all of them are by decision. The reason behind that I believe is because despite being a excellent boxer, Jackson doesn't have good KO power and he has a suspect chin and heart. 7 of his 13 losses are by way of (T)KO and he tapped to strikes before so he really need a serious change of his style or training camp to make him a better fighter. Anyway, Jackson will be finding really difficult to get a win again because he is fighting a well-rounded fighter in Jimmy Snuka. Snuka is the former Island fighter who only can find some success in QFC stage and is looking for a win so bad like Jackson. He has decent striking, excellent wrestling and a BJJ purple belt. His only skill disavantage is boxing so I guess Snuka can finally bring home the bacon. Jackson doesn't have KO power to back his boxing skills up so Snuka will not need to worry about getting KO'd. Snuka's favorite finish is GnP from dominant position, he will use his far more superior wrestling and BJJ to control and finish vulnerable Jackson there in the first round.

Prediction: Jimmy Snuka wins by first round TKO

LHW bout: Der "Tapang" Debil (9-13, 4-4 in USFC) vs Matthew "The Cyclone" Campion (4-6, 2-5 in USFC)

Another LHW rematch between two fighters who want to string their wins together. In their first encounter, BJJ purple belt Der Debil who has 6 wins by submission tapped Muaythai specialist Matthew Campion in the third round. Debil will have no doubt going to extend his win streak to 2 fights with another victory over Campion, who is riding a 2 fight win streak and wants more. I think Campion's momentum is higher than Debil but he will lose again. Let's take a look at their first fight, despite winning the first round, Campion's weak TDD and positioning costed him the fight. Debil could take him down effortlessly and straight to side control. Campion can hang on for a while but he couldn't do anything meaningful against the better BJJ player. I don't know if Campion improved his TDD, the skill difference is still there. Indeed, the striking advantage goes to Campion but he couldn't trouble Debil who has decent striking so this time I still think Debil can win and he will sneak a submission, in second round I guess.

Prediction: Der Debil wins by second round submission

FW bout: Aleksei Boyka (5-3, 1-1 in USFC) vs Alex "The Outlaw" Morrow (9-6, 0-3 in USFC)

So we have an interesting matchup in FW division between the 23 year old BJJ black belt Aleksei Boyka and the former INY BW champion and the former FW title challenger against the notorious Neymar Junior in USFC, Alex Morrow. Boyka is a BJJ wizard who is managed to win all of his fights by submission, but Morrow looks like he can outclass him easily in any areas except BJJ. I have to say it would be all over if Boyka can take the fight to the mat. But Morrow, as a world class striker, excellent wrestler and a BJJ brown belt, will be comfortable to use his wrestling to defend Boyka, lesser wrestler's takedown attacks and utilize his striking, which made him last 4 rounds with Neymar fucking Junior to outstrike Boyka. Morrow doesn't have KO power but good enough skills to win. Boyka has taken down some excellent wrestlers before but I think Morrow is in different level because he only lost to solid fighters so I think Morrow will win by decision.

Prediction: Alex Morrow wins by Unanimous Decision

WW bout: Tony "The Hitter" Banno (4-6, 0-1 in USFC) vs Ovaltine Jenkins (4-1, 2-1 in USFC)

Two WW strikers are going to bang! Muaythai sensation Tony Banno has yet to taste a victory since the change of management. He will need to get a win against world class boxer Ovaltine Jenkins who just lost againet a solid contender. It's tough to tell who is going to win in terms of striking skills. Banno has the advantage in Muaythai and Jenkins in boxing. Banno's favorite tactic is to clinch and punish which can give him a good advantage as Jenkins isn't that keen on clinch area. Jenkins has the KO power to knock Banno out though as all of Jenkins' wins are by (T)KO and Banno has been finished by strikes 4 times so I guess this is a big factor of this fight. With Jenkins' boxing skills I am sure he can knock Banno out in the second round after being controlled in the clinch by Banno.

Prediction: Ovaltine Jenkins wins by second round TKO

LW bout: Stone "316" Cold (6-5, 1-0 in USFC) vs Pat Tillman (2-2, 1-0 in USFC)

This is a LW matchup between two fighters who is 1-0 in USFC. One of them is going to improve to 2-0 that would send a message to the contenders. BJJ brown belt Stone Cold used to lose 4 in a row but after he joined the USFC, he cherished the chance to shine in his debut there and tapped his helpless foe in 27 seconds. He is motivated coming to this fight but his opponent Pat Tillman is no slouch. Tillman is also a BJJ brown belt with two fight win streak, including a submission victory in his USFC debut. Tillman used be a 0-2 fighter in his previous management but he is vastly improved after he is managed by Aylib 2.0 who's a very good manager. Also Tillman is only 21 years old so he will have a bright future but first of all he should get pass Stone Cold, who's a solid fighter himself. Despite both men having high level striking, the fight will have no doubt taking place on the ground as their preference. The fight would be close but with Aylib 2.0's experience and Tillman's little advantage in wrestling, he can edge a close decision win in my opinion.

Prediction: Pat Tillman wins by Unanimous Decision

LHW bout: Rio Yaj (4-1, 0-0 in USFC) vs Brutus Kowalski (4-2, 3-2 in USFC)

I believe this fight will be a good one. Everyone loves watching two young guns killing each other right? The red corner Rio Yaj is looking to be victorious in his USFC debut against Brutus Kowalski, who is one year older but already had 5 fights in USFC and won 3 of them. Yaj is a BJJ brown belt who found some success mostly in QFC by tapping guys out with ease so he's still unproven. However, Kowalski is a solid wrestleboxer who has top level wrestling and world class boxing. He also has good KO power to test Yaj's chin. Both men had lost by submission before so I guess they don't have really good defensive grappling. They are brown belts but Yaj will be the one who use it as offense and Kowalski as defense. Anyway, is Yaj going to take the fight to the ground? Kowalski is a top level wrestler who possess KO power and better striking. Kowalski's takedown defense may be a little bit suspect but his overall skills are still better. Yaj might sneak a submission win but Kowalski only tapped to a solid black belt it wouldn't be a big matter for him.I think Kowalski will slowly testing Yaj's chin and eventually beat Yaj by third round TKO after two intriguing rounds.

Prediction: Brutus Kowalski wins by third round TKO

MW bout: "The Ruthless" Brady Burns (5-2, 1-1 in USFC) vs Sergiu "Hades" Petrescu (6-2, 6-2 in USFC)

We have two potential contenders right here in MW division. The red corner Brady Burns really looks like Robbie Lawler and his nickname proves that he is Robbie Lawler 2.0. Just like Lawler, he has good KO power which helped him to score 4 (T)KO wins. Also he has a notable win against the reigning USFC MW champion Jermaine Wright in Imperial in February. Well, we will know Wright is a far better fighter now but still a solid win. His counterpart Sergiu Petrescu is a true USFC fighter as all of his 8 fights are under the USFC banner. He also has good KO power who has 4 (T)KO wins in his book. Both men only lost to contender Cu Chulainn in USFC so they are really solid. This fight will be a striking war for sure because they are dangerous strikers. What makes it more exciting is they have suspect chin. This fight should be ended by a knockout, but in which side? It's tough to tell. Burns is a better striker overall and he has a win over Jermaine Wright which can be a statement coming to this fight. Anyway, Burns is coming to the fight with a KO loss and Petrescu just knocked out a solid fighter Psycho Russell after new management with one punch so actually Petrescu has better momentum. Plus he is more familiar fighting in USFC so I think Petrescu will score a knockout victory after a close and exciting battle.

Prediction: Sergiu Petrescu wins by third round TKO

Co-main event

HW showdown: Jacek Kaminski (3-2, 0-1 in USFC) vs Darius Miller (4-1, 4-0 in USFC)

For the co-main event we have a very good battle in HW division, the division which produces shit tons of KOs. The red corner Jacek Kaminski is a solid striker who has a various techniques to finish his opponents. He can cut his foes' face in the clinch with his world class Muaythai and knock them straight out with flashy techniques such as spinning back fist. Kaminski is quite an exciting fighter to watch. His opponent Darius Miller is a dangerous wrestleboxer who has natural KO power and good dirty boxing. His momentum and morale is very high coming to this showdown as he is undefeated in USFC. He is going to prove that he is a contender with a win over the better striker and wrestler in Kaminski. I believe Kaminski will have the advantage in the clinch because looks like he has more weapon there and he is also way more superior in Muaythai and wrestling which can help him too. Miller isn't far worse than him in the clinch though as he is very effective in this area too so I expect a grueling battle there with both men cutting each other's face. In the striking distance I think it would be a tie up. Kaminski has more tools and Miller will knock guys out straight away so I can tell a clear winner. Anyway, with both men's tendency, the fight will mostly take place in the clinch and Kaminski will edge out a close decision victory because as I mentioned above, he is a better clinch fighter and he is going to end Miller's win streak.

Prediction: Jacek Kaminski wins by Unanimous Decision

MAIN EVENT

HW collision: Scott Parker (10-3, 2-2 in USFC) vs Vaclav "Wenceslaus" Mika (12-2, 2-2 in USFC)

WOW this is the fight we are waiting for! The former 2-time USFC HW title challenger and former INY SHW champion Scott Parker is colliding against the former USFC HW title challenger and former VFC HW champiom Vaclav Mika! Both men are solid contenders in the division and quite successful outside the USFC. Both men have experience in title fights so I am excited for this one. The red corner Scott Parker had never leave his fights to judges. He is kind of "Kill or be killed" style of fighter. He has world class boxing and Muaythai which allows him to knock his opponents out with either a punch or a kick. He only lost to former HW champion Slade Traylor in his USFC  career so Parker is really a dangerous fighter in his weightclass. His counterpart Vaclav Mika coming off with two straight losses, including the loss to Slade Traylor for the title. He used to be riding a 10 fight undefeated losing streak and now he needs to rebound himself with a win over Parker, a way better and well-rounded striker. Mika's biggest disavantage coming to this fight is his losing streak and striking arsenal. Mika is primarily a boxer who concentrates on punching. He only has limited Muaythai comparing to Parker's world class Muaythai. Parker is also a slightly better boxer who seems to have more power too. Mika is going to deal with Parker's one strike knockout power, especially Parker's head kick because Mika's big disavantage in Muaythai. Parker will no doubt looking for kicks more and eventually knocks Mika out. Parker is the real deal in my opinion.

Prediction: Scott Parker wins by 1st round KO to close the show

So that's the preview of USFC 81. Don't forget it's on 21st November so keep in touch with USFC! Let's get pumped up and enjoy the show!
