Event Preview: HONOR Wednesday Warfare XII
HONOR Fighting Championship
2014-04-23, Las Vegas, Hayashi's Lounge - Las Vegas
Author:Tony Rossi

Welcome to Wednesday Warfare XII, we have a great line up of fights to offer you this evening. I am feeling a bit under the weather so unfortunately this might go by a little quick. Meet the Future will be presenting the event and as always you can place your bets at Barbarian Betting or Rissa banking and bets.

Preliminary Bout Number 1- Heavyweight Fight (265lbs)

Jack "The Bottle" Daniels (1-0) {1-0} versus Ayrton "BigFoot" Silva (1-1) {1-1}

Two young guys are set to go at it in this one. Jack Daniels is sixteen years old and he recently made his debut. He quickly disposed of Jon Moxley who has the same manager as Silva. The fight only lasted eleven seconds so it could have been a lucky punch. The eighteen year old Ayrton Silva is one and one as he has defeated a wrestler but lost to a striker. The brown belt will need to get this fight to the floor if he wants a winning chance. I think Daniels might have to much power for Silva so I am picking him to win with a quick knockout.

Preliminary Bout Number 2- Bantamweight Fight (135lbs)

Darco "The Desperado" Goncalves (1-0) {0-0} versus Coors "Silver Bullet" Light (2-4-1) {1-4-1}

Goncalves will be making his Honor debut tonight and he will be looking to strike. He is a devastating Muay Thai striker who won his only fight by TKO in just one minute and eighteen seconds. Darco will need to avoid the ground though as he lacks any wrestling ability. Light has been an under achiever. He has a one four and one record here in Honor and something needs to change soon. I honestly don’t see Light being around too much longer because I see Gonvalves winning this fight in the first round by TKO. It just might be the time for Coors Light to retire.

Preliminary Bout Number 3- Light Heavyweight (205lbs)

Reginald Leslie (5-4) {2-1} versus Derec "The Smile" Negreanu (2-2-1) {2-2}

Leslie is twenty years old and he has already had nine fights. That early age experience can certainly give you a big boost in fights especially later in life. He has a Honor record of two wins and one loss and he will need to beat someone at their own game to get his third win. Maybe Leslie should rely on nothing but the clinch. Negreanu may have had fewer fights but he is older, he is a better striker, and he is coming off back to back wins. All signs point at Negreanu winning but I am going with Leslie to win by TKO in the second round.

Preliminary Bout Number 4- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

Darc "The Wild One" Von Hayek (1-0) {0-0} versus Alex "Almighty" Irwin (3-2) {2-2}

We have another fighter here making their Honor debut. Darc Von Hayek is one and o with a strong stand up game. He can clinch, box, kick box, and even wrestle a little bit with his opponents. He is at his best when he can stand at range and change levels with his kicks. Irwin is three and two and he is a better striker than DVH. He won’t complain if the two stand at range and strike as all three of his wins have come by TKO. The only losses Irwin has taken was against submission fighters so it would appear that he has the advantage in this one. I am going to take Irwin to win by TKO in the late part of round two.

Preliminary Bout Number 5- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

Yoshito "The Snake" Silva (5-4-1) {1-1-1} versus "The Wasp" Wayde West (4-2) {4-2}

Silva has been getting better and his record shows it. He lost his first Honor fight, and then had a draw, and in his last HFC fight he got a decision win. The natural progression would be a win with a finish and to get that he will need to take West to the ground. Even though Silva is only a purple he is a good submission fighter as three of his five wins have come by submission. West is four and two and he is looking to stack wins so he can get a rematch for the middleweight title. The nineteen year old lost his last fight by TKO do to a cut so the rebound process is taking a little longer than expected but the young guy has plenty of time. I think we see an adjusted better West in this fight and I am picking him to win in the first round by TKO.

Main Card Bout Number 1- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

Taylor "woob woob woob" Clark (27-17-1) {2-2} versus Takahiro Jouda (6-5) {0-1}

Clark is a very experienced fighter but that has not translated into a big winning streak in Honor. He is twenty seven seventeen and one in his career but only two and two in HFC. He is a well-rounded fighter who can stand and strike or grapple on the ground. Clark is always looking to out point his opponents as he has thirty five fights that have gone to decision. Jouda is six and five and he lost his only fight in HFC. He does have striking skill but Jouda is much more of a ground fighter. He is a world class wrestler and he holds a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I know Takahiro has not won a bunch of fights but I think he wins this one by submission in the second round.

Main Card Bout Number 2- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

"Psyhco" Walter Bishop (12-3) {0-0} versus "The Impaler" Vladimir Ignatov (6-2-1) {2-0}

In this next fight we have Walter Bishop making his Honor debut. He has a record of twelve and three in his career and he is a great ground fighter. I know this because I had the pleasure of working with him over in the WFL where he was the former welterweight champion. He will look to ground and pound Ignatov or submit him if he can. The Impaler has burst onto the scene in the HFC winning both of his fights so far. This top tier striker has won both of those fights by TKO and welterweight stand out Bobby Shamrock is his latest victim. Ignatov can handle himself of the ground and he will dominate Bishop in the standup so I am picking him to win by TKO in the second round.

Main Card Bout Number 3- Middleweight Title Fight (185lbs)

Donovan "Ronin" Robertson (7-1) {4-1} versus Kshitij Singh Negi (12-4) {2-2}

Donovan Robertson is putting his title on the line against the man who just beat the former champion. Robertson has looked great in all of his outings and he even avenged his only professional loss. The Florida native will need to get this fight to the ground if he wants to retain his title. Negi won’t be comfortable on the ground but I am sure he will enjoy throwing head kicks at the champ while the two are standing. The longer this fight stays standing the more chance Negi has to win, but I don’t think Robertson will let that happen. I got Robertson to retain his title by unanimous decision after a five round war.

Co Main Event Main Card Bout Number 4- Lightweight Fight (155lbs)

Riley Cooper (19-6) {1-1} versus Mac Hansen (29-19-1) {1-0}

The co main event tonight is a rematch from Wednesday Warfare VII. The first time Cooper and Hansen fought each other Hansen came out the better man when he knocked out Cooper at the end of the first round. If Cooper has been working on his striking defense this could be a whole new game, but it’s only been five weeks. I think Hansen takes this fight making it two in a row in which he defeated Riley Cooper. This fight could go either way but I think it will have a similar ending so I got Hansen to win by TKO in the second round.

Main Event Main Card Bout Number 5- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

Richard Hickock (23-15-2) {0-0} versus Dexter Morgan (12-6) {2-1}

In our final fight of the evening we have another fighter making their debut to Honor Fighting Championship. Hitchock is twenty three fifth teen and two and his forty first fight will take place here in Honor. Hitchock is a phenomenal striker and he has a great ground game to go with. He does have good power to go with that good striking as he has fourteen wins by TKO. Morgan doesn’t even have fourteen wins yet but he has fought under the bright lights of the HFC. Morgan only has one chance in this fight and it is to get the fight to the ground. Since Hickock is just as good if not better on the ground and he is the supior striker I have to pick Richard Hickock to win this fight by TKO in the second round.

Like I said this may have been quick but I am just not feeling up to. Have a great night of fights everybody.
