Event Preview: Hostility: Saturday Slaughter
Hostility (235K)
2014-04-05, Hilo, The Underground - Hilo
Author:Calvin Hobbes

Hey guys, hope you’ve all had a great week. I sure have and I’m glad to be back. Saturday Slaughterfest is going down tomorrow night at The Underground. I’m also excited to announce that we have worked out a merchandise partnership with our good friends over at 4 Leaf Fight Gear in Los Angeles, head over there for some awesome clothes, or pick some up at the fight! Speaking of which, here’s a little preview of what you can expect to go down tomorrow night.

Preliminary Bout Number 1 - Heavyweight Fight (265lbs)

Derek “The Boogeyman” Boogaard (0-1)  VS.  Vitvirivirit Minfirinfirivirk (1-1)

Boogaard is Wonderful boxer with some good wrestling coaches helping him learn to keep his fights standing up. His last fight he put on a great show, but the fight came to a questionable stoppage late into the third by the doctor due to numerous cuts. He’s looking for a comeback here, let’s see if he can reset his record. Minfirinfirivirk, first of all needs a name change, or at least a nickname. That shit is way too complicated for our announcers! Anyway, we don’t know much about this guy other than he participated in a QFC tournament and lost in the second round, we do know that he likes to standup and trade shots. Let’s see if he does that again here.

Prediction: I’m going with Boogaard on this one, He seems much more disciplined. Not sure how it will end, but I’m assuming by KO/TKO in the second.

Preliminary Bout Number 2 - Heavyweight Fight (265lbs)

Morum “ The Worm” Watanabei (1-1)  VS.  Toli Saleloyla (1-1)

Here we have a couple of fresh 18 year olds throwing it down. Both of these fighters are 1-1 and are coming out of second round defeats in the same tournament! Watanabei is a strong Muay Thai fighter with some average wrestling skills. His opponent, Saleloyla seems to be more of a Wrestler. With a tiny bit of experience everywhere. Let’s see who’s going to be able to bounce back from their loss.

Prediction: Watanabei seems to be the better fighter here, unless he makes a mistake and Saleloyla is able to get the takedown I think he’ll take this one with ease. I’ll go with TKO in the second.

Preliminary Bout Number 3 - Bantamweight Fight (135lbs)

Mahamed “El Tigre” Berrou (0-1) VS.  Jong Un “Gangnam Style!” Kim (1-0)

For our third fight we have Berrou, an all-around fighter with his focus in his hands and Boxing skills. He lost his MMA debut to Alex “Swarm” Gurmorow who picked up his first another win at our opening event. He’s going to be taking on Muay Thai practitioner, Kim. Kim had a very exciting first fight, trading blows with his opponent the entire time. In the last few minutes of the fight his opponent took him down and tried to finish the fight with some strikes, and a sub attempt before being caught with his arm out and got caught in an armbar and was force to tape out just five seconds before the end of the fight!

Prediction: I think Kim will put on another great show, but this time put his opponent to shame a little earlier. I think Kim will take this via some form of KO in the second round.

Preliminary Bout Number 4 - Bantamweight Fight (265lbs)

Wannalikiliki “Nasty Boy” Mastinkistinki  VS.  Renato Portaluppi

Next up is another Bantamweight Fight, both of these fighters are just 18 years old and are coming out for their first professional fights ever. We got a little info from their managers and were told that “Nasty Boy” has been training in all disciplines and has some average-mediocre skills just about everywhere. On the other hand Portaluppi just likes to punch people in the face with his boxing skills.

Prediction: They key here will be for Portaluppi to keep the fight standing and Nasty Boy to try and take it to the ground. I think Nasty Boy will eventually get this fight to the ground and be able to pull off the win, either by decision or TKO/sub on the ground.

Preliminary Bout Number 5 – Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Ken Jacobs  VS.  Osvaldo “Mestre” Santos

Our last prelim fight is another one where both fighters are making their professional debut so we don’t know too much about them, but this is what we’ve heard. Jacobs is a well rounded fighter with little BJJ skills and really likes to train hard and become a complete mixed martial artist. His opponent, Santos, is an amateur boxer who has spent the last 5 years of his life training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu earning him a purple belt.

Prediction: This one is gonna be dependant on where the fight takes place, but like most fights I think it will eventually get to the ground and Santos will use his superior BJJ and get the win via submission.. maybe in the second round?

Main Card Bout Number 1 – Middleweight fight (185lbs)

“Coach” Gennero Ed  VS.  Ill “Savin Lives” Boogie

Our first fight on the main card will be another set of fresh 18 year olds looking to make a name for themselves. Ed seems to be a well-rounded fighter but with a big right hand. He’s coming off a TKO win in the first round of his first pro fight. Boogie is a professional Boxer who’s well known and just made the switch to MMA, let’s see how well his Boxing experience will serve him and if he can keep this fight standing.

Prediction: I think Ed will use his superior wrestling and take this fight to the grab and pickup his second pro win.

Main Card Bout Number 2 - Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

Luke Rockstar VS.  Kanaka “Bloodline” Roots

Up next on the main card is another middleweight fight. Rockstar will be making his MMA be here as well as many other fighters. He’s got a strong BJJ background and has been working on the rest of his game, let’s see how much progress he’s made. His opponent, “Bloodline” is coming off his first win of his 3 MMA fights, which he won in 20 seconds with a beautiful headkick. We know he has some solid Muay Thai a Purple Belt in Jiu Jitsu and a Granite Chin. I think he’ll be looking to keep this fight standing

Prediction: I think this fight will end up on the ground and Rockstar will use his dominant BJJ to seal the deal and get a submission victory in the second round.. maybe the third. ….if he lasts that long

Main Card Bout Number 3 - Bantamweight (135)

Francis “Wrong Way” Falkenrath  VS.  “The Karate Kid” Daniel Larusso

Next up we have some more fresh young fighters, at 18 and 19 years old they’re both coming in here for their third professional fights. These guys have opposite records, Falkenrath lost his first two fights by decision, and Larusso won his first two by decision, and TKO, respectively. They both seem to like fighting on their feet, even though Falkenrath has a strange 22 takedown attemps with some pretty terrible wrestling skills.

Prediction: I think if Falkenrath fixes his gameplan he’ll have a good chance at knocking out Larusso. But I don’t know if that’s going to happen so I’ll go with Larusso by... decision?

Co Main Event – Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

Travis “Exacto Knife” Sharpe  VS.  “Crazy” Jose Gutierrez

All right, now time for our Co-Main Event. This seems to be somewhat of your classic Grappler VS Standup fight. Sharpe is a wrestler coming off his first MMA win landing a Triangle Choke in the second round, which shows he also has some BJJ skills, not bad! His opponent, a “Crazy” Mexican from just barely south of the border, Tijuana, Mexico also known as “TJ”. Despite being Heavy Handed this guy won his first fight with a head kick coming out of the clinch in the third round. That fight drove the fans crazy and they loved the show he put on. I hope we get a good show this time out too!

Prediction: To be honest, we saw Sharpe a few hours ago and he looks like he was enjoying the Hawaiian hunnies in Hilo a little too much. This dude needs some rest and I think that’s going to cost him the fight. I’m going with Gutierrez by KO/TKO in the second.

Main Event - Lightweight Fight (155lbs)

“The Bad Guy” Razor Ramon  VS.  Teryy “Boomer” Johnson

And now, for the Main Event of the evening, we have two fights with a little more fighting experience, although not in MMA. Ramon lost his first fight by Majority decision but came back strong scoring back to back TKO wins. He’s got some strong Boxing and Wonderful wrestling skills. He likes to take his opponent down, impose his will and beat the shit out of them. Johnson is coming off a decision win in his first pro fight. He’s a Muay Thai fighter who’s been recently working on his ground game. Let’s see if he can stop this monster and set Ramon’s record even.

Prediction: I think Ramon has the superior Wrestling and will be able to do whatever he wants with Johnson. I go with Ramon by TKO in the second.

Thanks for taking the time to check out tomorrow night’s fight, I hope it turns out well. Hope you all enjoy the previews and let’s see some finishes!

I’m also looking for some graphic work done, logo, maybe a full time poster job. If anyone is feeling creative shoot me a message and we can work out some details.
