LFC 11 Karoa vs Berzins Preview by Merrick Shamrock

Hello ladies and gentlemen, here you have the 1st preview ever written for a LFC event by me. I’m Merrick Shamrock, I’m from Belgium, you might know my fighter Miron Karoa, he’s gonna fight at the main event of LFC 11. I am officialy signed by Métra M’Bolé as the writer. This is the first time I done this so I hope it’s good enough. The event takes place in The Underground (1000) on 15 March 2014. So let’s begin with our Main Event.

Welterweight: Miron Karoa (6-0-0) vs Samuel Berzins (3-1-0)

To begin with you have the main event of the evening. The manager of LFC promised that the one who would win this bout will get a shot for the Welterweight Title against the winner of the Askren - Leigertwood fight. Karoa is one of the most dominant grapplers on the Island, he has finished all his 6 fights with a 1st round submission. Berzins is a very strong striker who uses his boxing to end his fights and sometimes he uses the clinch. Karoa is currently number 7 and Berzins number 8 of the Welterweights on the Island. Karoa warned Berzins that he will break his arm or choke him out if he doesn’t tap, I (manager of Karoa) asked some people for their predictions for this fight, 2 said Karoa by submission and 1 said Berzins by KO.

If Karoa gets Berzins down its all over, but if Berzins keeps the fight standing its all over. Berzins is Karoa’s biggest challenge, it’s going to be difficult for both of them. In the end I think Karoa is going to win, but not in the 1st round.

Prediction: Karoa wins by Submission (rd 2 or 3)

Lightweight Championship: Brad Shaw (6-1-0) vs Nich DiMag (7-3-0)

This one is for the LFC Lightweight Championship, Shaw is a dominant grappler who uses his BJJ Brown belt effectively, he has won the majority of his fights by submission. DiMag is a Muay Thai fighter who uses the clinch often to win his fights, he only finished 1 of his 7 wins. The key to win this fight for DiMag is keep the fight standing and just dominate his opponent with strikes, Shaw needs to use his wrestling and jiujitsu skills to finish DiMag on the ground. I will give DiMag a tip on this one, STAY ON THE OUTSIDE, if DiMag clinches Shaw, Shaw will take him to the ground. I don’t really know the outcome of this one, but it’s gonna be an epic bout.

Prediction: Shaw wins by late Submission and takes the Lightweight gold home.

Welterweight: Ben Askren (2-1-0) vs Twyin Leoex (3-1-0)

A fight between 2 grapplers who finished all of their fights with submissions. Askren has the wrestling advantage, he only lost one fight against the Irish Micky Feck by TKO, but Askren doesn’t need to fear to get knocked out. Leoex has the boxing advantage that he is not going to use probably, Leoex is low on morale because he was defeated by my fighter Karoa in a dominant grappling battle and his energy is not full. Askren morale is also pretty low but his energy is full. I just think that Askren is better prepared for this bout.

Prediction: Askren wins by Submission (rd 1)

Middleweight: Josiah Mudzuri (2-0-0) vs Shimmy Sinner (2-0-0)

Personnaly I’m very interested in this bout. 2 middleweight prospects with both a lot of talent. Mudzuri is a grappler who finished all his 2 fights with submission and Sinner is the stand-up fighter who uses his dangerous boxing and sprawl and brawl technique to knock his opponent out. There is a lot of smacktaking for this bout, Sinner who said he would win this bout like usual with KO and that he will get the 185lbs belt. Mudzuri was more creative with his poem that he will end the fight on the ground with jiujitsu. If Sinner can sprawl Mudzuri’s takedowns he will finish him with his brutal punches, if Mudzuri can get Sinner on the ground he will get the submission victory.

Prediction: Sinner by KO (rd 1 or 2)

Other Fights:

Welterweight: Daniel Berzins vs Morgan Freeman

Prediction: Freeman wins by Submission

Featherweight: DeMarcus Bojan vs Jack Milpid

Prediction: Milpid wins by Submission

Featherweight: Kant Gaunov vs Milan Zitska

Prediction: Zitska wins by KO (Strikes)

Lightweight: Blagojevic Batakovic vs Jan Dobrik

Prediction: Dobriks wins by Decision (Unanimous)

Welterweight: Jay Fall vs Buster Knott

Prediction: Fall wins by TKO
