A Short Introduction to Golden Glory

Fighter profile of Golden Glory by

September 15th 2010, a match was scheduled between two 280lbs fighters. The fight was a quick booking, two unknown fighters to go head to head to boost their career to stardom. For one of the fighters this would be the case. Within 45 seconds of the first round Rick Ross fell to the future P4P king, Golden Glory.

When he first laid eyes on the young man his  goal was to see Golden Glory become the best there ever was at least for the time and there was no doubt that this was the case. The fighter would go down in the record books known to have defeated 8 straight victories against top ten heavyweights becoming the youngest fighter to reach the #1 P4P fighter in all of history at the age of 21. He became the youngest fighter to be inducted into the hall of fame of MMATycoon and would eventually headline the card with the highest rating, revenue and attendance in MMA history. The young Hall of famer grew up in the streets of Brazil before he was taken under the wing of his manager GunMetal Grey. Greys wish was to see Glory become the greatest fighter at the time, little did he know he probably held the greatest fighter ever right under his wing.

After his first fight in the QFC he took another to keep the ball rolling forcing the referee to stop the fight due to a cut handing the undefeated Cisterna his first loss.  The clinch work Glory had shown in the fight was no doubt beyond what his manager could have expected. This was the moment where his fans started taking notice and so did the ORGs around town.  Glory not only defeated the 3-0 Cisterna but he completely dominated him.  His final fight in the QFC was the true ticket he needed to join a top org while having the referee or the doctor stop the fight was great there was nothing like actually knocking a man out as he did against Mauricio Silva with a knee in the clinch. Glorys Clinch would be to deadly for opposition to play with.

Glory was immediately signed to The Big Bang a small organization in Rio de Janero Brazil where he fought his fourth fight under contract. In his first official org fight he earned fight of the night in the event. It was one of the very few times he was not the actual main event but even here he was the Co-Main Event. Finishing his opponent within 3:38 Seconds of the first round he did not disappoint.  By his Sixth fight he was the actual main event in what would be known as the No.1 contender match to go up against Bush. In the event We Be Banging, Ivan Drago was put to sleep by a beautifully placed knee by the future P4P king sealing the opportunity to go into his very first title fight.

Bush against Glory was  one of the first times that Glory was not expected to win. In the fight Glorys opportunity to win the gold was huge to him, this is what he worked so hard for and now that opportunity was finally here. The 9-0 Bush was a little weary of the 6-0 Glory but Bush was confident in his abilities. Fighting undefeated fighters was truthfully nothing new to him and he knew where he would end up if he defended his title against a man like Glory. Golden Glory took the fight to the clinch where he dismantled the champions’ abilities and pursued the cut. The announcer was heard talking about the cut saying the cut was nasty and he needed to protect himself, And Unfortunately for Bush Glory did not relent and he continued to open up on it.  When the doctor finally stormed in the cage he had seen enough and told the referee the fight must be ended. The fans began to cheer a new champion. The ORG owner demanded a rematch would be set, he didn’t feel a champion should be built on a cut. With the rematch Glory did the same exact thing except for the first time ever he went into the second round of a fight. Something that no one expected, he personally gave Bush his first two incredible and unforgettable bloody losses.

After his dismissal against Quim Bastos he began the journey of P4P king and started to defeat 8 straight top 10 opponents. Finishing Abreham Killyousovizh, Veto Remmi, Ernesti Vihervaara, Logan Glotka, Abayo Bokhari, Stu Ungar, Sebastian Bantrell, and Mitchell Stehling. Finishing Harry Bush was the last time he finished a fight by cutting them open he began his Referee stoppages again picking up where he left off until he met Ernesti Vihervaara, which was the first time his fight went to a decision. Losing the first round was probably such a sore feeling that he wanted the rest of the rounds, he wanted them so bad he outscored with a combined judges scorecard of 49-44. That means, two rounds were scored 10-8 rounds for Golden Glory and he deserved nothing less literally scoring more than 7 times the amount of strikes than his opponent. Vihevaara who had only lost once up until then was immediately humbled to be in the cage with someone with this kind of skill. It was here that people began to see he was more than another fighter, he was a soon to be Hall Of Famer.

One of the toughest fights of Glorys career if not the toughest was his fight against Abayo Bokhari. Bokhari and his manager were probably the only ones who believed he stood a chance. In one of the greatest displays Bokhari truly showed the holes in the game of Glory avoiding 29 leaving Glory to land only 16 of his total punch stats and 13 of his leg kicks while landing 1 of his own leg kicks Bokhari threw 2 head kicks that actually connected along with four of his own leg kicks. The fight really could have gone either way it was so hard to judge and Glory won out due to aggression and more strikes landed. The fight rating was only 43% but this infuriated Bokhari, he believed he won that fight and wanted a rematch. He would eventually get one and it would have been worth the wait.

Two fights later and Glory claimed his second fight of the night award against Bantrell in a great 5 round fight that he won by Unanimous Decision. People begina to think Glory had gotten a little soft at this point wondering if he could still knockout out dudes. What people forgot was Glory was well over 200lbs and a man that weighs anything above 200lbs has natural KO power. Glroy went against a man named Mitchell Stehling in NFC 117 for the title. Besides being rated P4P king it was only Glory’s Second time in claiming a title by knocking out Mitchell in the 2nd round. It was A beautiful moment for all of Glory’s fans to see him knockout another opponent. It showed supremacy and no one dared to go against him. Except one man who believed he deserved a rematch against Glory that man was none other than Bokhari.

The first Round of the second match started off with trading of shots you would have thought it was a cowboy movie. Neither guy backed off they kept swinging and connecting. It wasn’t until the 2nd minute that everything took a wild turn. Glory had thrown a kick that was in plain sight and Bokhari decided to land a hook to the body that left Glory gasping for air, the step back from Bokhari only gave him a greater reason to step in and connect with a hard shot on the jaw. As Glory hit the floor screams from the audience began. The once unexpected fighter to defeat Glory jumped on him landing multiple strikes. Glorys fans rose to their feet screaming for them to get up but he was never able to. The Referee was so hesitant to step in you could tell even he did not expect to see what had happen happen before his own eyes. The new champion was now Abayo Bokhari. Glory had finaly suffered his first defeat after 17 straight victories. Abayo came in with a completely opposite gameplan this time and instead of being the counter striker he was much more the aggressor and The Hellbent Sponsored Glory suffered for his lack of timing. Although losing his last three matches Bokhari certainly had one of the greatest achievements in being the man that dethroned the greatest fighter to live.

Glory lost his next match against Tonal which was crowned fight of the night. His third fight of the night award and you could tell, Glory was still missing something. Going back to NFC he had the opportunity to fight for the belt again and he forced the referee to stop the fight in the first round against the man he originally took the title from Mitchell Stehling. One fight later he would suffer probably a defeat that would stay with his fans for a lifetime as they watched Silva drop Glory with a solid punch that put him on his back in the first round. There was no doubt in everyones mind Glory was finished. It seemed he should take a break from MMA and do some soul searching when in NFC 136 He took on McTrigger and within 15 seconds of the fight he knocked out McTrigger. This was his fastest victory to date and it showed all the Glory fans that he was not going anywhere and if anything he was coming back for that number 1 spot.

Still sponsored by HellBent the NFC champion looks to fight Cedric Myton on march 30th 2012 to For the Ascension title.  19-3 is not a bad record at all its not a record everyone achieves and in all honesty not many people get the titles he has held in his career. #1 P4P king, Youngest Hall of Famer, two time NFC champion, Greatest pay per view event holder, 8 straight victories over top ten opponents, and a fan base that still awaits their P4P king to return. “Regaining The #1 P4P will always be goal until the day I retire.” ~Golden Glory
