UPF 30: Cena versus Wilson is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by Ultimate Pit Fighting on February 2, 2014 at Hayashi's Lounge in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

(The Prelims)

-[Welterweight bout]: Mark McGilivary(n/r) (3-8-1) vs. Pedro Silva(n/r) (5-3)

-[Preview]: Mark McGilivary is a veteran of the sport that is on one hell of a losing streak. He is at his best when he is on top of an opponent and working his Jujitsu on them. Pedro Silva is a veteran of the now defunct Iron Fighting Combat organization. He utilizes a straight forward strategy of diving in for a takedown and advancing position until he can catch a submission. McGilivary's wrestling could award him a great advantage in this fight but Pedro Silva will likely have the superior submissions of the two.

-[Lightweight bout]: Urban Fox(6) (2-2-1) vs. Dwayne Griffin(n/r) (7-5)

-[Preview]: Former welterweight contender Urban Fox returns at lightweight looking to climb the ranks. He is a pure clinch striker and dirty boxer. He favors knees in the clinch although he has been known to shoot for takedowns on occasion as well. The most concerning thing about his style is that he seems to be susceptible to returned strikes along the cage. Dwayne Griffin, likewise, is a clinch fighter that loves to throw knees against the cage. At a range, he also throws a variety of kicks.

-[Lightweight bout]: Brian McCarthy(1) (3-3) vs. John Sy(n/r) (0-0)

-[Preview]: Brian McCarthy is a well rounded fighter that is capable of bringing the fight into any position that he deems advantageous. On the feet he may lack horse power but he makes up for it in versatility. In the clinch he smashes guys with strikes from all different angles. And on the ground he controls fighters as well as anyone in the division. John Sy is an unknown newcomer. He is reportedly a Muay Thai stylist with a rudimentary ground game as well.

-[Welterweight bout]: Antoine Petasse(n/r) (2-2) vs. Johnny Charco(n/r) (2-2)

-[Preview]: Antoine Petasse is a technical Muay Thai striker. He lacks in wrestling but survives on the ground with his Jujitsu experience. He uses it to advance position and stay out of danger on the ground. He has survived a few scraps on the ground and even scored some submissions but I wouldn't expect him to be looking for one more of those in this fight. Johnny Charco is a pure Jujitsu brown belt. He lacks any real standup or clinching ability but more than makes up for it with his submission experience.

-[Light-heavyweight bout]: Conan Howard(n/r) (4-0) vs. Jack Tombstone(7) (3-7)

-[Preview]: Undefeated boxer Conan Howard is making his long awaited UPF debut. Despite being a boxer that is comfortable on his feet, as well as in the clinch, he has found the most success on the ground where he has submitted two foes. He will be facing a man that needs a win more than any other fighter in the history of Ultimate Pit Fighting. Jack Tombstone throws a volume of strikes at a range but is a fish out of water anywhere else.

-[Light-heavyweight bout]: Andrew Soltys(n/r) (4-0) vs. Diego Lindien(3) (4-1)

-[Preview]: Andrew Soltys is the winner of the Light Heavyweight QFC Tournament 324. He defeated four straight foes, battering them with heavy punches, to claim the tournament title. Diego Lindien is back from his successful UPF debut. While Diego is comfortable trading punches at a distance, he is exceptionally superior with dirty boxing in the clinch.

(Main Card)

-[Heavyweight bout]: Ivan Vanko(3) (10-7) vs. Ben Breeze(5) (4-2)

-[Preview]: Former heavyweight champion Ivan Vanko returns to the cage for the first time since Felix Cena defeated him for the title. Ivan Vanko utilizes a rudimentary standing game to set up takedowns. Once on the ground, he utilizes ground and pound to damage opponents en route to a submission attempt. Ben Breeze is an exciting young prospect that has been quietly improving since he joined the UPF heavyweight division. Breeze has progressed in his training to the point that he is a legitimate threat to all signed heavyweights. On the ground these two fighters may very well be even with a slight edge going towards Breeze.

-[Lightweight Championship bout]: Dark Hunter(c) (6-0) vs. Chad Mendes(7) (7-3)

-[Preview]: Lightweight champion Dark Hunter is a BAMF. There is really no other way to say it. His fast paced boxing and sledgehammer of a right hand have led him to six straight victories, almost all of them within the first round. Chad Mendes is a power wrestler with a specialty in arm lock submissions. He favors the armbar but will go for other holds as well if the situation arises.

-[Light-heavyweight bout]: Cain Cormeir(c) (10-4) vs. Mohammed Jihad(6) (4-0)

-[Preview]: Light-heavyweight champion Cain Cormeir intends to move up to heavyweight. He has had a distinguished career at light-heavyweight as a division breaker. There are no more challengers for him at light-heavyweight that could fairly face him except one: Mohammed Jihad. Jihad is an elite wrestler in his own right. Both fighters are highly skilled on the ground but Cormeir will likely hold a tremendous edge if he can keep this fight standing.

-[Heavyweight Championship bout]: Felix Cena(c) (7-3) vs. Mickey Wilson(1) (5-1)

-[Preview]: Felix Cena is a young boxer that is a veteran of the RFC fight league before he made the jump to UPF. After stopping Mickey Wilson with quick punches between being taken down the first time around, he battered then heavyweight champion Ivan Vanko into a bloody pulp. Ironically, Vanko was coming off two consecutive victories via doctor stoppage when the bloody affair that stole his title occurred. Mickey Wilson is perhaps the premier heavyweight wrestler inside of UPF. His singular focus is to take opponents down at all costs to allow him to score with ground and pound.
