2013-08-07, Las Vegas, MMA Grand
Author:Louie DePalma

Greetings everyone and welcome to Syn’ 247: The Package.  This event will be our companies first of many Wednesday night ventures into the MMA Grand where we expect to see close to 17, 157 excited fight fans take in the action along with many hundreds of thousands doing the same from the comfort of their own homes.  Like always our show tonight is brought to you by our Merchandise Partner Reaper Combatwear.  First off we have our Prelim fights where many young and old fighters alike look to make a name for themselves and work their way onto our Main Card, here is a list of those who will be appearing in action.

Preliminary Matchups

205 lbs Hildebrand G.W. Blackwood vs Yama Mama

185 lbs Sergei Kravinoff vs Doc Holliday

185 lbs Eric Britt vs Johnny Storm

135 lbs Brian Peppers vs Mitsuyo Maeda BW Title Fight

265 lbs Jayden Ray vs Thorbjorn Rekdal

Main Card

135 lbs Kyle Le Blanc vs Frankie Pep

In what could possible determine the number one contender and the next opponent for tonight’s BW Title fight winner sees a pair of cage veterans do battle.  Le Blanc comes into this fight riding a more then impressive 7 fight win streak including one in his debut within the Syn Banner.  Pep on the other hand is also on a win streak albeit a less impressive 3 fight streak and is also 1-0 in his career with Syn.  Le Blanc and Pep have very similar backgrounds and also skill sets however Pep has the decided size advantage holding an 8.1 lbs advantage.  Both fighters are excited for this showdown and when speaking with him during their training camps they are both looking for a big finish as they want to get in on the money being offered around by company owner Louie DePalma.  I say let them go for it as the more exciting the fight is, the better, but my money is on a Le Blanc Decision victory.

185 lbs Sepp Maier vs Matt Sabre

This matchup sees two newcomers to Synchronicity make their debuts.  Maier comes into this one on a one fight losing streak after Steel Penn ICON in London went silent while Sabre comes to Syn following 4 wins in 6 fights with legendary Fight Company CFC in Montreal.  When you look at this fight on paper Maier holds a distinct advantage on the ground while Sabre is a KO artist but when you dig deeper, you see a flaw in that thinking as Sabre has not once been subbed in 54 trips into the cage while on the other side of the coin Maier has seen himself go to sleep by way of the fists on 8 occasions.  Sabre holds a slight reach advantage but we believe Maier will try and use his small weight advantage against Sabre to wear him down and finally pop his sub cherry, too bad for Maier as I see him completing the opposite as he will drain himself of his own energy in his attempts leading to what could be a KO of the night contender!

170 lbs Barry Allen C vs Stephoune Father – WW Title Fight

In our second title fight of the evening recently crowned Welterweight Champ Allen faces Father who is making is long awaited debut with Syn.  Allen has won 3 of his past 4 fights including what some may say was an upset victory in his debut over former Champ Ben Stone, but I am sure his camp won’t agree with you meanwhile Father came over in the UPG NY merger and is riding a 5 fight win streak and is more hungry then ever after sitting idle since late in May.  When you look at these two warriors on paper they are very equal on the ground however Allen holds a decisive advantage in MT which I fully expect he will use this advantage to expose Father and end this fight early.  I just do not see Father being given the chance in this one to utilize his slight BJJ advantage and am sorry to say it will likely be lights out within the 1st round and another impressive victory for Allen.

155 lbs Stephen Hawking vs Boris Cekada – LW Title Fight

Our Co Main Event of the evening see’s Synchronicity’s first Lightweight Title Fight take place since Hakuin Ekaku and Billy Dressler fought to a draw back at Syn’ 240: New Years Eve.  Hawking and Cekada are both riding 2 fight win streaks and both have close to 50 career fights under their belts.  Hawking is making his debut tonight after coming over from Steel Penn ICON’s London Org where he had 4 wins in 6 trips to the cage.  Meanwhile Cekada makes his debut in Syn following a long stay with IMMA in Helsinki where he failed in his 2 attempts to win gold.  Cekada won’t let those 2 past failures deter him as he is clearly the favorite on paper in this one as he is either the stronger fighter in all disciplines other then Wrestling where they are equal.  Hawking looks for the KO in the majority of his fights holding an amazing 26 KO victories to his credit however Cekada is extremely proud of the fact he has never once fallen prey to the knockout.  Cekada’s well balanced attack will prove to be too much in my opinion as he will ride his talents to victory and Championship Gold in this one.

205 lbs Jack Turnbull vs Johnnie Stalker

Now it’s time for our Main Event of the evening!!  This battle in the Light Heavyweight division sees young KO specialist Jack Turnbull face off against veteran Johnny Stalker.  Turnbull comes into action riding a 7 fight win streak where he has won by way of Submission Strikes, TKO or KO in all 7 encounters.  Meanwhile the crafty Stalker who is also a KO artiste has had a slightly less than impressive road to this battle yet we won’t take anything away from Stalker as he comes in after winning 5 of his past 7 fights also by way of TKO/KO with one Decision victory mixed in.  Both warriors won their debut fights with Syn and are looking to carry on that success in tonight’s Main Event.  Stalker holds a slight reach advantage while both fighters are almost identical in weight.  When you look at this fight on paper it looks like a complete mismatch as Stalkers skill set towers over Turnbulls however many a man has found out the hard way that looks can be very much deceiver because when Turnbull lays fist to face, most go to sleep.  This one is just too close to call folks, so I won’t predict a winner however if you want to, make your way down to Syn’ Betz http://www.mmatycoon.com/bookmakerpublic.php?bid=8050 and place your money on your favorite Syn fighters!!

Once again I would like to thank our sponsor for tonight’s show Reaper Combat Wear and hope to see you in attendance as Syn continues its strong return to the Fight Game!!  Enjoy our fights and we will see you next at Syn’ 248 where our HW division takes center stage!!
