BFT 212 Review

Heavyweight - With now 7 finishes in 7 victories, "The Freak" Brock Lesnar KO'ed 2 time BFT "KO of the Night" winner "Lapper" Kim Boshesh with strikes at 2:56 of round 1.

Kim starts off looking for the takedown, and gets it on his third attempt. He was throwing up some strikes, but nothing really stuck. Boshesh dove for a leg, and then Lesnar was wiggling around until he was able to get up. Boshesh was able to get another takedown, but Lesnar was quick to flip things on Boshesh and acquired mount. Lesnar had no hesitation on raining down some pain and put Boshesh out cold.

What's next for "The Freak"? Something's already in the works, but it seems hush-hush at this moment. I think it will either be Josh Barnett, Laguna Lunaris, or Alistair Overeem.

Light Heavyweight - Former Title Challenger "Money Pacman" Floyd Pacquiao knocked out 2 time BFT "KO of the Night" winner "Mr." Bones Jones with a cut at 3:55 of round 1.

Jones had landed a solid strike and that was enough for Pacquiao. He brought the fight to the mat quickly, and got to work on his ground and pound. He opened up a cut early and hammered on it until the ref was gagging. Needless to say, the fight needed to stop.

What's next for Pacquiao? That's just the kind of win I Pacquiao was looking for to get back into title contention. Looking at who's free on the roster currently, there are only 2 viable competitors. There is the legends in Jake the Snake or the Former long time BFC champion Trinidad Suarez.

Co-Main - Middleweight - Tarik Gibson KO'ed the former BFT Middleweight Champ Amir "Scorpion" Khan with a punch at 3:15 of round 1 to raise his current winning streak to 7 straight knockouts.

Gibson was the agressor early, and landed some good strikes. He moved things into the clinch soon after, and he went all 'Diaz Brothers' on Khan. He was landing punches to the body and head in large quantities. Khan broke things off, but on his way out he got hit with a huge head kick that just about signed his fate. A few more shots put him away.

What's next for the BFT new commer? A great win to start off his BFT career. A bout with the former champ Hermio Junior would certainly be interesting, especially since they are both 7-1, with 7 fight win streaks, all KO's. Brick Taylor would bright a great fight too.

Main Event - Light Heavyweight - The Former BFT and TCA Light Heavyweight Champion Shananigan Lurendrejer Unanimous Decisioned 2 time BFT Middleweight title challenger and 2 time BFT Light Heavyweight title challenger Antoine "A-Train" Wallace.

In the first, we saw Lurendrejer land some solid strikes before taking the fight to the ground. Wallace tried to to submit him, but Lurendrejer was just too slippery. Lurendrejer was able to control the position and land some ground and pound through the end of the round. Wallace got the take down early in the second round, but he wasn't able to really land anything too terribly successful. Lurendrejer took advantage of his position, get into butterfly gaurd, and push away. Lurendrejer took advantage of his position was landing the shots that he could. It was too little too late for him, and the round had ended. It looked like each fighter had a round a piece, and it looked even better for Wallace when he got the takedown just as the fight got started. But it was a brief moment of success, as seconds later Lurendrejer was able to work some more Jiu Jitsu magic and reverse the position. Wallace tried and tried to end it or get back on top, but it was to no success. Lurendrejer was able to maintain position and land some ground and pound when he could to ride the fight to a decision.

What's next for the former two org champ? The obvious route is another go around with the champ MacMillan, which if it is his next fight he has totally earned, but I personally want to see him fight another guy or so before a third meeting with Dallas. He has yet to meet up with Jake the Snake, who is always in a fight. Rematches with Suarez and Pacquiao are also viable options.
