Inside The UPF: Jimbo MImbo

Fighter profile of Jimbo MImbo by Dale Saw

Welcome to Inside The UPF. I am your host Fred Meyer. And today we have a great show in store for you all. On the set with me will be a very funny individual who also fights in the UPF-Hilo's light-heavyweight division. Ladies and Gentlemen please help me welcome Jimbo MImbo.

[Jimbo enters the stage wearing a cowboy hat and holding a candy bar.]

Freddy: Hey Jimbo. How are you today?

Jimbo: [Omnomnom] I'm fine Freddy. [Omnomnom.]

Freddy: Wow, you really look like you are enjoying that candy bar. Haha. So, Mr. Mlmbo tell us a little about your self, besides the fact that you've got a sweet tooth. Haha.

Jimbo: [Omnom] yes. I enjoy candy bars, and my weight cuts are usually pain in the ass. [Omnomnom] Well, I started boxing when I was young, but it didn't work out since I was kicking, [Omnomnom] so I tried kickboxing.  Probably because all those Van Damme movies I watched as a kid. It kinka worked, but I got bored, since I was getting my ass kicked in my sparring sessions. Then I found out about bjj the rough way, when some dude choked me out when I was hanging out at the bar. He did the basic lapel-choke, I was wearing a leather jacket, and before I knew, I was kicked out of the bar. [Omnomnom. Jimbo finishes the candy bar, puts the wrapper in his pocket and pulls another one out of a different pocket] Well I got pretty angry, as you might expect, so I went back in side and broke a bottle over his head. The next week, I posted bail, and then I started training brazilian jiu jitsu. [Opens the candy bar and takes a bite] The gym also has boxing, wrestling, and mauy thai classes for the same price! So I took those as well. And, that's the road I'm on right now.

Freddy: So, jiu jitsu became your favorite thing to train in? And, your last fight did not come out so well. Sheng Jen Kuo managed to cut you, rock you, and then knock you down all in the first round. Would you like to comment on that?

Jimbo: Well,  these days I like to train everything, but , excuse me, [Omnom], but bjj was the first thing I really liked. About my last fight, I had a bad night. It was one of those days you know when you wake up and everything seems to be wrong. [Omnom] Your morning coffee tasted bad and felt all worn out. I tried to shake myself up, but it didn't work. My warm-up session was a disaster and the fight continued that way.  Man Sheng hitted me hard, almost dropped my mouthguard.

Freddy: I bet that didn't feel good. Haha. And, I hate those kinda days. Haha. So, where do you see yourself in UPF-Hilo? Who would you like to fight next?

Jimbo: I have no clue. I really have no plans right now, except that I'm going to have some barbacue and some beers later tonight. I'll have a few beers and think about what I should start training next. If some fight offers comes along, I'll take them.[Omnomnom. Jimbo finishes the candy bar, puts the wrapper in the same pocket as earlier.]

Freddy: Well that sounds like a good time. I love me some barbecue. Haha. Now your last opponent Sheng Jen Kuo beat you to get a shot at the title. Hugo is a dominate champ. How do you feel that fight will pan out? Do you think Kuo might be our next champ?

Jimbo:  I really don't know, anything is possible. I just Like to focus on myself and get ready to face anyone. Freddy: Well we are starting to get low on time. Jumbo, real quickly, if you could fight anyone in all the tycooniverse, who would it be?

Jimbo: I would like to clone myself and fight myself. That would be mind blowing!

Freddy: Haha. I'd pay money to see that. Haha. But, would he have the candy bar weight problem too? Haha. Food for thought. Haha. Anyways we are completely out of time. Jimbo thank you so much for coming on the show today. Folks lets hear it for your candy bar eatin' UPF-Hilo light heavyweight fighter who will someday fight his clone Jimbo MImbo. And next week on the show we have the bantamweight fighter that is probably favored to win the 135lb Championship Tournament and be the next Bantamweight champion, Test  Ninja. So don't forget to set your TiVo and DVR because this is one you'll want to watch over and over. Until next time, I'm Fred Meyer signing off.
