1 on 1 with Don Marciano

Fighter profile of Don Marciano by Chris Karter

Reporter: How would you describe yourself?

Don Marciano: "Damn near perfect and tough as nails."

Reporter: "What is your greatest strength that helped you accomplish your goals?"

Don Marciano: "These two anvils you call hands."

Reporter: "What is your greatest Weakness that has been the source of de-motivation or resentment?"

Don Marciano: "Age but I'm too damn hard headed to hang the gloves up."

Reporter: "Tell us about your specific goals, other than those related to your occupation?"

Don Marciano: "I would like to start a chain of Italian restraunts that featured real exquisite Italian food and not none of that Olive Garden or Carabba's crap."

Reporter: "What motivates you to fight?"

Don Marciano: "Money."

Reporter: "Tell me about your proudest achievement?"

Don Marciano: "I have so many of them. From winning the EMPIRE Heavyweight title to establishing myself as the best HW on the planet. I don't know where to start. Avenging all my losses is right at the top. I think the single thing I'm most proud of is how much of a badass my little brother Raph is."

Reporter: "What’s your dream job?"

Don Marciano: "I think I'm a perfect candidate for Hugh Hefner's position at the helm of the playboy empire. You can't find a man with better credentials."

Reporter: "How do you deal with criticism?"

Don Marciano: "Fist to face."

Reporter: "What do you think matters most, skills or hard work?"

Don Marciano: "A combination of both. You can be the most talented fighter in the world but if you don't push yourself or train hard enough, you'll come up short. You can be the hardest worker on this planet but if you're not blessed with the intangibles you won't always cut it. I think it's more about the hidden intangibles and natural talent. You can train chin or KO Power and you can't train toughness."

Reporter: "Any idea who your next opponent is?"

Don Marciano: "We've narrowed it down to Fidel Dubbery or Dustin Douglas."

Reporter: "Do you have any thing to say to your potential opponents?"

Don Marciano: "Take advantage of every moment you have in the gym and perfect your technique, because when you step in the cage with me if you make one mistake, the smallest margin of error, you'll be waking up to my hand in the air and that belt around my waist."
