UNDER CARD

Featherweight Fight
#16 Mark Reynolds (3-0 NGF) v #5 Vladimir Parkachev (7-8, 3-2)

This fight went exactly as I had previewed.  Mark Reynolds continues his march up the featherweight ranks by getting a 1st round TKO over Vladimir Parkachev.  Parkachev started this fight by stunning Reynolds just seconds into the round with a 3 punch combo.  After that, Reynolds was able to land one stiff jab that cut Parkachev open and the whole fight changed.  The fight was ended at 1:50 when Reynolds landed a massive left hook that knocked Parkachev to the mat and the ref dove in to stop any more punches from landing.  Reynolds looks very good and he needs to be tested in his next fight.

Heavyweight Fight
#11 Frederick Frost (3-1, 2-0 NGF) v #10 Patricius Satanae (7-6, 2-2 NGF)

Frederick Frost showed in this fight that he is a major force and the heavyweight division should be on watch.  Frost came out like a bull, charging straight ahead and Patricius Satanae threw some strikes out of desperation, but Frost brushed them off like a mosquito and unloaded an overhand right that cut Satanae and set him back on his heels.  A big uppercut seconds later dropped Satanae like a sack of potatoes, but as the ref looked to move in to stop the fight, Frost stepped back and Satanae popped back to his feet so the fight continued…bad move.  Frost moved in, fainted high, Satanae dropped down, and Frost brought an uppercut from hell that KO’ed Satanae and he fell to the canvas like a tree.  A KOTN award and a huge win for Frederick Frost…WOW!

Welterweight Fight
#19 Ramazan Temel (6-3, 0-1 NGF) v #10 Dominick Napolitano (5-3, 5-2 NGF)

Dominick Napolitano used his smarts in this fight to beat and frustrate Ramazan Temel.  Napolitano came out and instantly started with his monster leg kicks that he’s known for.  He landed one early that looked like it did damage.  He then used the leg kicks followed by going to the clinch.  Temel was reduced to a defensive fighter, often throwing frustrated punches that didn’t land or just weren’t very strong.  Napolitano landed 20 of 29 leg kicks and by the end of this fight, Temel was limping and just couldn’t use his legs.  While in the clinch, Napolitano beat up Temel, he landed a huge knee in the clinch early in the 1st round that cut open Ramazan.  Dominick dominated the fight and ended it at 4:59 of the 2nd round after landing a right hand that rocked Temel, Napolitano grabbed Temel, after a shoulder strike, Napolitano got his right hand free and landed a uppercut that sent Temel crashing against the cage, out and the ref jumped in to save him.

Welterweight Fight
#15 Yusuke Urameshi (8-6, 0-2 NGF) v #11 Alastair Gridlock (4-3, 1-0 NGF)

Well make it 4 for 4 after this fight for my predictions.  Alastair Gridlock moves his winning streak to 4 fights after getting the 1st round TKO over Yusuke Urameshi.  I wrote that Gridlock likes to fight in the clinch, and that’s what he tried to do in this fight, he wanted to make this a Muay Thai fight right from the bell.  Yusuke Urameshi tried like hell to get out of the clinch, but he just couldn’t and he was totally dominated.  Gridlock landed 8 of 14 head punches in the clinch and 2 of 4 body punches.  The big moment of the fight was when Urameshi did manage to break a clinch, he pushed out and as he walked away he took a look up at the clock, Gridlock took advantage and landed a right hand right to the jaw and Urameshi was rocked.  Gridlock clinched up, almost holding up Urameshi, put he was able to land more strikes in the clinch and after knocking Urameshi to the ground, the ref jumped in and ended it at 3:55 of the 1st.

Super Heavyweight Fight
#8 Ted Bundy (7-3, 2-1 NGF) v #4 Chilemba Murithi (2-0 NGF)

There is one thing to say about Chilemba Murithi…OMG!  Murithi destroyed Ted Bundy in this fight, Bundy attempted 18 strikes, I think most of them were just desperation attempts to get Murithi away.  Chilemba attacked Bundy with a relentless barrage of kicks, most of them being very significant.  Bundy simply had no answer, Murithi landed 9 of 9 leg kicks, 12 of 13 body kicks and 6 of 7 head kicks, with the biggest coming just seconds into the fight, a monster head kick that drilled Bundy above the right eye, snapping his head back, buckling his knees and opening up a nasty gash above the eye.  As the fight went on, Murithi could smell blood and he kept kicking the eye.  Ted Bundy was a nasty, bloody mess, he was swollen and I was surprised he came out for the 2nd round.  It was after 2 more head kicks landed somewhat in the 2nd round that the ref called in the doctor, you could tell Bundy couldn’t see out of that eye, and when asked if he could see, Bundy told the ref no.  This fight was called at 55 seconds of the 2nd round.

MAIN CARD

Middleweight Fight
#14 Ivan Dulin (6-3, 1-1 NGF) v #3 Purpura Mortis (9-3, 3-1 NGF)

A very interesting game plan from Purpura Mortis, he initiated the clinch, a area where Ivan Dulin has been deadly.  Mortis came out aggressive, attempting a spinning back fist, but he then took the fight to the clinch.  When the fight was in the clinch, Mortis took over, destroying Dulin at his own game plan.  Ivan Dulin came into this fight averaging over 23 elbows in the clinch per fight; he attempted just 1 in this fight and didn’t land it.  Mortis was masterful in the fight, landing 3 of 3 punches standing, 6 of 6 head punches in the clinch, 3 of 3 body punches and 2 of 2 elbows, one of doing the most damage, a elbow to the temple rocked Dulin.  A straight left hand to the jaw of Dulin sent him to the canvas, and after Mortis followed up with several bombs, the ref had no choice but to stop this fight at 1:43 of the 1st.  Mortis is certainly showing he’s back and has got to be considered for a title shot soon.

Light Heavyweight Fight
#11 Kert Nigobson (8-6, 5-4 NGF) v #8 Jack Poldi (11-5, 6-2)

Well this looks like the last fight for a possible NGF hall of fame fighter in Jack Poldi.  Poldi was a dominating champion for the organization, but as contract extension talks broke down last month, the writing was on the wall.  Kert Nigobson didn’t care about all that, he just was focused on getting a chance to beat a very good fighter and he was more than willing to be the fighter who sent Poldi packing with a loss.  The fight ended up being not all that exciting, both fighters showed respect to each other and spent a lot of time just trying to feel each other out, not attempting a whole lot of strikes.  Nigobson took the fight in the clinch early on, but the fight stalled there, both fighters attempted a few strikes, but nothing really landed and a few boos actually rose from the crowd.  Nigobson pulled guard and took the fight to the mat as his next move, but once again, nothing much happened and the ref stood the two fighters up.  After the fight started again, Nigobson landed the 1st real significant strike, a counter right hand landed on the jaw, snapping Poldi head, and you could tell Poldi was wobbly as he tried to grab Kert and hang on.  The fight changed when Nigobson, on his 4th take down attempt, was able to get the double leg take down and get Poldi down.  Nigobson dominated the ground game, landing 6 of 8 ground strikes and controlling Jack.  Nigobson improved into mount, and he began to drop major bombs on Poldi, one landed that had Poldi’s eyes roll back in his head, and after 3 more landed, the ref jumped on top of a zombified Jack Poldi at 4:58 of the 1st.  Nigobson gets the big win and says farewell to the former champion.

Heavyweight Fight
#16 Sang Eek Moon (11-3, 1-1 NGF) v #7 Andrew Golota (10-5, 5-3 NGF)

Sang Eek Moon took his pin point accuracy into this fight and he picked apart Andrew Golota until he found his opening and finished another fight.  It was Golota who pushed the fight early, Moon was moving nicely, but he also wasn’t able to land a few early shots, but Moon was able to land a big shot to the body that clearly hurt Golota as he took a big deep breath.  For the next few minutes the fight was beautiful, both fighters standing toe to toe, throwing strikes, landing and using great defense, it was a great two minutes to watch, very entertaining.  After the two minute mark, the fight slowed down a bit as Moon took the fight into the clinch, where both fighters didn’t do a whole lot.  I would have given the round to Moon, but who knows.  As the 2nd started, both fighters came out ready, Moon went to a few more head kicks, but both fighters traded strikes.  Just after the 2 minute mark, Moon was able to get a beautiful counter head kick that rocked Golota, his legs were gone and as he tried to recover, Moon connected with another huge bomb, that put Golota out on his feet and crashing to the mat at 2:08 of the 2nd.  Massive win from Sang Eek Moon and one that makes him a clear contender again in the heavyweight division.

Welterweight Super Fight
Bowser Stormcrow (12-1) v #3 Aurelius Schultes (13-5-1, 1-1 NGF)

The first Super Fight ever in NGF history had the crowd in a buzz, had people frantic and it also left people torn when it was over.  It was a fight that really showed how good Bowser Stormcrow is.  He seemed to be toying with Aurelius Schultes at times and then other times he looked to be bored with Schultes game plan.  The first had a lot of strikes, but also a lot of swings and misses.  Stormcrow pushed the action, taking the fight where he wanted; stand up, distance, and in the clinch.  It was a decent round, but it was a bit surprising that Schultes came out in a counter style more than push the pace.  The 2nd round was fought at an even slower pace than the 1st, which was a complete disappointment.  Schultes was the one, who took the fight into the clinch, but he did more stalling than anything and when he was throwing strikes, not many landed or did any damage.  The round turned when Stormcrow kicked Schultes in the balls, it was a hard shot and Schultes took the full 5 minutes to recover.  After the fight started again, Stormcrow took over the striking, landing several good shots to end the round.  In the 3rd, Bowser Stormcrow came out and pushed the pace, he was all over Aurelius Schultes, and he turned it on, found his range and landed most of his strikes in that round.  Schultes had no answers in the 3rd, he played defense the entire round, only landing a few kicks and un productive punches in the round.  Stormcrow ended landing 13 of 31 head punches standing and 9 of 22 leg kicks while also landing just 5 of 17 head punches in the clinch.  Schultes got just 1 of 4 take down attempts, but even when he did get on the mat with Stormcrow, he didn’t do enough, he attempted just 3 ground strikes and landed 1 and then he stalled and was stood up.  Overall Schultes attempted just 32 and landed 18 of them.  Stormcrow won all three rounds according to the judges and he takes the win.  Many fans left talking about how they were disappointed in the lack of action in the fight.

Super Heavyweight Title Fight
#3 Vyacheslav Romanov (9-0, 2-0 NGF) v #1 Castiel Angel (9-0 NGF)

This fight was one that I have been counting down the days for it to be here.  Vyacheslav Romanov and Castiel Angel, two of the best fighters in the super heavyweight division came out and as soon as they touched gloves to start this fight, you knew this was going to be great.  In the first 45 seconds of this fight, both guys threw big hay maker punches and kicks, both guys showed good footwork with lightning quick jabs and both guys just avoided a KO blow.  At the 1:10 mark of the round, Castiel Angel landed the first significant strike, a quick jab that left a cut on the nose of Romanov.  A turning point of the fight was the take down defense of Romanov, Angel who usually can take down his opponents at will was unable to get Romanov down and you could tell it took a lot out of Angel and you could almost see he was very discouraged.  Angel had to change his game plan and he started throwing some wild punches that Romanov avoided with ease and countered.  It was one of these counter punches that snapped Angel’s head back and allowed Romanov to follow with a big uppercut landing right under the chin of Angel and knocking him to the mat.  Angel managed to scramble to his feet, but the damage was done, he was dazed and completely confused.  As Angel stumbled forward, off balance, Romanov landed a monster right hook, knocking Angel out cold and he feel in a heap to the mat, a brutal KO!  AND YOUR NEW SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION VYACHESLAV ROMANOV!
