James Chandler Q&A

Fighter profile of James Chandler by Alika Webb

James Chandler is a 21 year old wrestler from South Africa. He's currently signed to the

SkrapBox Fighting Championship in St Petersburg.   Q: You're currently ranked 5th in the 145 division, do you see a title shot in your future? James: Absolutely, even though I haven't fought yet here in St Petersburg it's the only thing on my mind.   Q: Even though you're only 21 years old, you've already travelled a lot, how come? James: I was born in South Africa but I moved to Hawaï when I turned 18 to train in MMA.  I then decided to travel to Holland because everytime my manager sent me new clothes and other stuff, it took a long time to get to me. I had a good run in Holland but when I was looking for a new organisation I got a really good contract offer from  SkrapBox Fighting Championship, it was an offer I just couldn't refuse.    Q: Did you learn a lot in Hawaï? James: I only really trained my boxing in Hawaï. I got the best training so far in St Petersburg,  but that's mostly because I haven't fought in a while.   Q: So it's been a while since you last fought, do you want to fight soon? James: I like to train, but I also like to fight. So my answer is yes, but the training I'm getting now could  prove crucial in my next fight, you never know.   Q: You've compiled a 5-1 record, but only finished a fight once, don't you like to finish people? James: I love finishing people and I'll definitely finish people in the future, trust me!   Q: Thanks for the interview and I wish you luck in your next fight. James: Thanks but I don't need luck, I just need to believe in myself and my coaches and everything will be alright.
