God Damn You, Snow

Ever get snowed in at a booty call's house? Ever find that booty call to be the most irritating human being possible? ANYWAYS! Sorry I didn't get the preview sent in time, here's the REVIEW for your latest and greatest.

KRT 185 GP Tourney was a mixed martial arts event held by Kage Ryu Taijutsu on March 8, 2013 at the Hard Knocks arena in Tokyo, Japan.

-[Middleweight bout] Jack Dawkins def. Ikuhisa Minowa via TKO (Strikes) at 9:56 of round 1.

-[Review] Say what you will about this match but Minowa put up a hell of a fight. Jack Dawkins was clearly the more skilled of the two in every facet but Minowa went out on his shield. He cut Dawkins early and struggled for submission attempts. Despite his continuous efforts, Dawkins was just too much when he started dropping bombs on his pinned foe. What an outstanding main event!

-[Welterweight bout] Tatsuya Aoki def. George St Pierre via TKO (strikes) at 5:55 of round 2.

-[Review] Aoki took St Pierre down almost at will. Tatsuya Aoki was simply too much for the long time ONI veteran and is a horrifying opponent for any welterweight as he finds himself on a four fight winning streak.

-[Middleweight bout] Susumo Komota def. Hanamichi Sakuragi via Submission (Triangle) at 1:55 of round 1.

-[Review] In one of the quicker bouts on the card, Komoto did his Jujitsu school proud by immediately taking Sakuragi down and choking him out in the time that it takes a heavy set person to carry a box of fried chicken up a flight of stairs.

-[Lightweight bout] Woohun Do def. Craig Adamson via TKO (Strikes) at 9:58 of round 1.

-[Review] After a rather rocky KRT debut, former AJFC lightweight champion Woohun Do laid any doubts to waste in this one-sided beating. He took Craig Adamson down almost immediately and worked him over with ground n pound while looking for the submission. Ultimately, the punishment Adamson took en route to the end of the first round was too much and the referee was forced to step in when Adamson wasn't protecting himself.

-[Middleweight bout] Male Nurse def. Ollie Ritch via Unanimous Decision.

-[Review] Are you kidding me, bro? You're a male nurse! Male Nurse landed takedown after takedown, pulled guard, and brutalized Ollie Ritch with ground strikes en route to a very well earned unanimous decision.

-[Featherweight bout] Yusuke Nakamura def. Hiroyuki Okamoto via Split Decision.

-[Review] This fight was filled with two tough rounds to judge. Okamoto outworked Nakamura on the ground but was slightly edged out in other areas of the fight. Irregardless; it may not have been entirely fan-friendly but it was a good showing for both fighters.

-[Middleweight bout] Miguelito Dragon def. Aegon Blackfyre via Unanimous Decision.

-[Review] Miguelito won an ugly decision in a grueling fight here. Both of these guys were pushing the pace with takedown attempts, clinchwork... Miguelito simply outworked Blackfyre in virtually ever facet of the game.

-[Bantamweight bout] Scott Smith def. Tiny Dong via Submission (Triangle) at 0:18 of round 1.

-[Review] Scott Smith dominated quite possibly the most unfortunately named fighter in history. Smith was on a horrible losing streak coming into this fight so many believed that, erm, Dong had his number. The results don't lie, however: Smith dominated the Dong. If you're reading this, I'm sorry Mom.

-[Welterweight bout] Jim Fortaleza def. Ben Funkyama via TKO (Strikes) at 7:32 of round 2.

-[Review] Despite possibly having an edge on the feet, Funkyama opted to take the brown belt down on repeated occasions to try to work his own submission game. This plan proved to be erroneous in that Fortaleza was simply too good for him on the ground, reversing him and working his submission attempts in with powerful ground n pound that inevitably put Funkyama away.

-[Welterweight bout] Random Collective def. Jimmy Miller via TKO (Strikes) at 8:22 of round 2.

-[Review] In this back-and-forth affair, both fighters hit each other with everything up to and including the kitchen sink. As the fight dragged on, the fighters would engage in the clinch and at a boxing range, landing punches and kicks and elbows, whatever they had. Due to his propensity due fall to strikes, Jimmy Miller did everything in his power to bring this fight to the ground. However, Collective is a fantastic wrestler in his own right and he was able to stave off the ground game long enough to score with powerful strikes that ended the contest.
