MAIN CARD

Main Event

Heavyweight Title Fight

#4 Elbrys Gora (12-1, 0-0 NGF) v #16 Sam Winchester (5-2, 0-0 NGF)

Two fighters making their NGF debut and it will determine the new heavyweight champion.  With the belt stripped from Leifur Lee, the heavyweight division has been searching for someone to win the title.  The consensus is Elbrys Gora will be it.  Gora, 12-1 in his MMA career is simply amazing when he gets a fight to the mat.  A black belt in BJJ, he’s submission skills are the best in the organization.  11 submission wins prove to anyone, you do not want to test his BJJ skills.  Sam Winchester enters this fight 1-2 in his last 3.  He is very good on the ground too, but his standup is exceptional.  He has KO power and he’ll look to keep this standing at all costs.  Gora is a very good wrestler also, so this will be a test of Winchesters take down defense.  This looks like a great fight on paper, I can’t wait to see these two guys fight! PREDICTION:  Gora 2nd round submission

Co-Main Event:

Featherweight Title Fight

#1 Andreas Almdudler (5-0 NGF) v #2 Vito Ferrari (8-4, 1-0 NGF)

We will finally be crowning the first featherweight in the NGF after this fight.  Andreas Almdudler is 5-0 in the NGF; he is 1-0 in the featherweight division.  He is a well-rounded fighter at 20 years old.  He can win in different ways and adapts his game well during fights.  Vito Ferrari is coming off a very impressive win over Billy Perez at NGF 30.  He is a former DPEF champion and has wonderful stand up, both boxing and Muay Thai and will put a lot of damage on fighters.  It’s not just fists that you have to worry about, Ferrari has very nasty kicks also, and he can end a fight quickly with a precision head kick.  This one has fight of the night written all over it!  Let’s get this one started!  PREDICTION:  Ferrari 3rd round TKO

Light Heavyweight Fight

#10 Johnny Jackson (9-3, 0-0 NGF) v #4 Martyn Musgrave (17-9, 3-3 NGF)

We will see two fantastic fighters face each other in this one.  Johnny “JJ” Jackson will make his NGF debut in this one.  A former FMMA champion, JJ is a dynamite puncher.  He has had just 1 fight in his 12 career fights go past the 1st round.  He rarely has to use his wrestling or BJJ skills, he will stand in front of an opponent and trade punches.  He loves to use his remarkable Muay Thai skills to punish the opponent.  Martyn Musgrave looks to get back on track with a win.  He lost in his title fight last time at NGF 29.  Musgrave needs to get this fight to the mat.  He is out matched in the stand-up game, and he holds a slight advantage in BJJ, where he holds 6 SOTN awards.  PREDICTION:  Jackson 1st round KO

Light Heavyweight Fight

#6 Dmitry Boitsoff (9-4, 1-2 NGF) v #5 Andrej Kavelin (6-2, 4-2 NGF)

Dmitry Boitsoff is coming off win over Kert Nigovson at NGF 29 and he’ll look to get into the top 5 with a win.  Boitsoff, a black belt in BJJ, has won all 9 of his career wins by submission.  He looks for the take down, and then uses those superior BJJ skills to end fights.  His troubles come when he’s not able to get the take down, he has very poor stand up skills and his striking defense is suspect.  Andrej Kavelin has good BJJ skills as well and his submission defense is very good.  He holds a distinct advantage in the stand-up game, and I think he’ll try to avoid the ground.  He has 4 submission finishes, but I think in this one, he’ll try to pick apart a less skilled stand up fighter.  This one is too close to really predict, but I think it’s going to be a fantastic fight, one that’s the early favorite for SOTN.  PREDICTION:  Boitsoff 2nd round submission

Light Heavyweight Fight

#3 Rogerio Mustacho (6-1, 5-1 NGF) v #2 Zergatron Megalopolis (7-1, 4-1 NGF)

I mean, can you get a better main card of an event?  Seriously, these fans that attend will be for sure entertained as we have 5 of the top 6 ranked fighters in the light heavyweight division in action on this card.  Rogerio Mustacho will try to get into the #1 contender spot with a win.  Mustacho is simply a good, good fighter.  He has really no weaknesses and he can be deadly in every area of a fight.  He’ll punish an opponent standing up, and then will use his excellent take down skills to move a fight to the mat, where he can ground out wins and use his BJJ skills to submit.  Zergatron Megalopolis has lost just 1 time in his career, but some are saying he’s the underdog in this one.  He has an advantage standing up, he has more power than Mustacho, but he must keep from getting taken down.   He will look for the big punch and end this one.   He will certainly be next in line for a title shot with a win.  I’m shaking I’m so excited for this one.  PREDICTION:  Mustacho 2nd round TKO

 PRELIM CARD

Middleweight Fight

#7 Darius Elerman (8-2, 1-0 NGF) v #5 Lenard Skinnard (5-2 NGF)

Darius Elerman is will look to move close to the top 5 with a win.  He is an exceptional wrestler, he has some of the best take down skills in the NGF, and he holds a black belt in BJJ.  He can beat you two ways, ground and pound and submission, but regardless, he’ll look to take this to the mat.  Lenard Skinnard is still trying to develop his all-around game, but he is a very good boxer at this point.  There is no way he wants this to get to the mat, he needs to defend the take downs, and use his stand up skills to keep Elerman on the outside.  One thing he can try to do is take this to the clinch and dirty box or use some Muay Thia, where he holds a slight advantage.  Skinnard can punch and he can KO Elerman, but I don’t know if he can fight off the take downs long enough.  PREDICTION:  Elerman 2nd round TKO

Featherweight Fight

#3 Vladimir Parkachev (6-6, 2-0 NGF) v #9 Billy Perez (7-1, 0-1 NGF)

Vladimir Parkachev will try and move into title contention with a win and a 3-0 record in the NGF.  Parkachev has changed up his style over the last few fights and certainly since joining the NGF.  He was once a fighter that looked for submissions, but after going through 5 fight losing streak, he seems to look to stand up a lot more.  He’s still developing as a fighter, but his stand up game has come a long way to a point where you need to look out for his punches.  Bill Perez lost his NGF debut at NGF 30, but he’ll look to get back into the win column buy trying to use his BJJ advantage.  He has exceptional wrestling skills and he’ll shoot and take down just about anyone.  If he’s able to do that, this one won’t last long.   PREDICTION:  Perez 1st round submission

Bantamweight Fight

#15 Tony Frost (4-2, 4-1 NGF) v #17 Jack Judo (2-0 NGF)

Well this one is a classic matchup of fighter vs a grappler.  Tony Frost has lightening quick hands, he also has some very good power for a bantamweight fighter, as all 4 of his wins have come by way of (T)KO.  Jack Judo is a BJJ specialist; he will use his wonderful take down skills to get an opponent down and has looked great with his submissions thus far in his early career.  He has yet to be tested in either of his two fights, so this one will tell us a lot about Judo and his chin or his ability to handle a wonderful stand up fighter who has shown good take down defense skills.   PREDICTION:  Judo 1st round submission

Welterweight Fight

#21 Pavel Petrov (4-3, 0-1 NGF) v #12 Daemon Mustacho (3-0, 1-0 NGF)

Pavel Petrov lost his NGF debut against a very good opponent in Carlos Rey.  He now draws Daemon Mustacho who is 3-0, ouch.  Petrov is a skilled fighter, he likes to stand in there and bang with anyone.  He uses a lot of leg kicks to try and slow down his opponent and he has shown to have a big right hand.  He has wonderful wrestling skills, but hasn’t used them often, and he holds a brown belt in BJJ.  Daemon Mustacho is exceptional standing up, he will trade punches, but has shown little KO power.  His first two career wins were both decision wins in spite landing 74 head punches.  He has said he was working on his power, and he was able to TKO Edvard Westerlund in his last fight.  Mustacho will have to defend take downs, because Petrov will certainly want to get this fight there.  PREDICTION:  Mustacho 2nd round TKO

Light Heavyweight Fight

#11 Travis Jones (6-3, 2-2 NGF) v #14 Mamed Khalidov (3-1, 2-1 NGF)

Travis Jones will try and slip into the top 10 with a win over Mamed Khalidov.  Jones, a submission fighter, lost a unanimous decision at NGF 28 vs Geoff Strangle in his last fight.  Jones is a middling fighter; at 28 years old you would think he’d be a little more skilled.  One thing for sure, he has shown excellent submission skills.  If he’s able to get this fight to the ground, he will submit Khalidov.  Mamed has shown more power than Jones, and that where I think he’ll game plan.  He needs to stay off the mat and look for that KO punch.   PREDICTION:  Khalidov decision win
