Highland Games 125 Preview

Event Preview: Highland Games 125
Highland Games
2015-11-07, London, Knights Court
Author:Callum McGregor

Vice Versa (5-2) Vs Yuki Masakazu (7-3) - Bantamweight
Been quite hard to get Vice a fight recently, but he's always there and he's always game to fight. After his HG debut put him in the green, he's gonna have a tough time against a guy with a lot of Highland Games experience. Like many guys,Yuki seems to be destined to be a lower card guy. He's a good fighter who has beat a lot of guys, but he's fell every time he's been the underdog. He should be the favourite here so we'll see if that makes a difference.

Dan Sten (14-8) Vs Zakari Moss (14-11) - Bantamweight
Two time title contender Dan Sten had never lost two in a row in his career. He's lost his last 3. It's been a harsh taste of reality for the clinch expert who 's still been fighting at a solid level but hasn't really been having any success. Some may be calling for retirement in the near future for Sten, but he's got a winnable fight here to keep himself relevant. Moss lost to Sten at HG 64 as he couldn't deal with the clinch. Moss will be trying to pull guard to get this on the mat where his submissions skills will com

KOTB 16: Gringo

The King of the Beach promotion is back to Hayashi’s Lounge a week after their most successful card in promotional history, and I have a feeling they may repeat that achievement this weekend. KOTB 16’s stacked main card will see a light-heavyweight title fight, a middleweight title fight and a pair of number-one contender fights between some of KOTB’s most popular fighters.

Diesel Hendrix (3-1, 1-1) v Carlos Fierro (3-0, 1-0)

Opening up the aforementioned main card will be a pair of welterweights on the fringe of contention, as Las Vegas-born Diesel Hendrix takes on a fellow sprawl and brawler in Rio’s Carlos Frierro. Hendrix is coming of a tightly contested decision loss to future title contender Rick Sharp and will be looking to get himself back on track here. Fierro, on the other hand, is coming off a knockout win over former KOTB-

After an impressive career in KT at EFFA, I noticed that Murphy was starting to take qfc's and I checked with is manager to see if he was working towards a transition to MMA. Harry told me that it was indeed the case and before he could say much more, I put a contract on the table and told him that I had a bright future in mind for his fighter at NY FIght NIghts. Eager to make the step towards MMA, Murphy accepted the contract and made his debut against the undefeated highly skilled beast Costanzo. His debut lasted only 17 seconds as he destroyed him in brutal fashion. I decided to set him up against a world class boxer with a granite chin next , being the highly feared D'Amato. 2'30 was all it took to defeat the highly touted prospect and make himself the number one contender

Rising Phenom

Fighter profile of Adam Johnson by Rain Thunder

Elite Build is a private gym in New York owned by MMATycoon's veteran manager Mister Worldwide. This gym is home to these rising figures like Micheal Alvarez, Osvaldo Gomez or Roger Pott. It is also home to a prospect named Adam Johnson, a guy which is said said by his coaches to have an incredible amount of potential, but is still yet to have a professional MMA fight.

Ruben Aguirre (2nd degree BJJ Black Belt, 2 time No-Gi Absolute World Champion, Elite Build grappling coach) - To me, Adam has this mysterious element. When he came to our gym, he said that he has never had any martial arts experience before, and joined our beginners class. As soon as he showed up, he has instantly paid for 3 months of training, bought his mma shorts, mouthpiece and started training. It caught my eye that he was very silent, had white hair and white beard, and his eyes were pitch black, almost as of a bug. He is small, as he is fighting in the Bantamweight division, but for me, there was somet

Soa Palelei (9-3) v Corey Parker (9-3)

The USFC is back in action as it celebrates its first year on the Tycoon scene with USFC 78, Live from the Liberty Dome in New York!

One year ago yesterday the USFC opened its doors and went looking for the top 250 ID range fighters in the world, and boy did it come up big!

Among the first wave of early recruits came two promising young heavyweights, Corey "Punishment Walk" Parker out of the camp of Martin O, and Soa Palelei out of Camp Jursllla. Parker made his debut along with the org later that month at USFC 1 on Thanksgiving Day, and went on to capture the crown in January of 2015.

Palelei made his USFC debut that same month with a pair of KO's to earn a title shot against Parker in February, finishing the champ in Round 1 with a dominant performance. After both fighters won their next fights, Parker found himself as the #1 contender and poised for the rematch with Palelei.

However, Palelei intially declined stating that Parker was no challenge after just crushing him in convincing fashion. After hearing Parker's claims that he just had a bad night and that he knew how to bring down the seemingly invincible champion, Palelei accepted the challenge and the rematch was on!

The two squared off at USFC 33 as Parker took the champ down early and began to wear on him with a slow and steady attack, chipping away at Palelei with ground and pound. With just 3 seconds to go i
