Event Review: TTFC:A Tuesday Night Fights
Ultimate Fighting Federation

Attendance:750, Event Rating:109
Author:

This was a big day for the newly formed organisation as it was the debut event in the small 750 capacity venue at Wild Bob’s Bar in New York. The event was a success and with a sold out venue the fans were treated to six stoppages, five of which were stopped in the first round which added a lot of excitement to the event and showed that TTFC:A has the roster to hold their own within the lower tier organisations. Let’s take a look at last night’s card and how things went down.

[MAIN CARD]

[02] David Cross def. Arn Anderson via first-round TKO

Malevolent 3: Preview

Event Preview: Malevolent 3
Malevolent Inc.
2012-02-26, Las Vegas, Hard Knocks - Las Vegas
Author:

How's it going sugar tits? K-Rad here and pretty bloody excited about the fact too. I get to spend a bit of time in Vegas these days and with Malevolent 3 coming at you from the Hard Knocks arena you know you're in for something special. A great location, a great organisation and a great card make for good (GREAT!) times and I'm here to give you the run down of the impending 10 fights that are going to be taking place. The promotional poster looks fantastic, some sort of tree with big man tits and a tribal tattoo, so I am assuming it is what trees look like in New Zealand. Anyway, let's get down to the action:

Dennis "Y U No" Trollface vs. Alan Johnstone

Welterweight

We kick off the card with "Y U No" Trollface and Johnstone representing the 170lbs division. "Y U No", of "Y U No call me!" and "Y U Go CostCo No Say Hi Me!" fame is most likely of Filo descent, a hypothesis backed up by his love of boxing. Johnstone is more of the wrestling type but both men are evenly matched on the mat making it fairly likely that if Johnstone manages to avoid having his head removed from his shoulders very early in this fight that we're going to see a lot of ground work going on. Johnstone is the taller man by a clear 10cm and given that both men are rookies it is too early to know what their capabilities are in terms of grappling. With th

Event Preview: BFFL 41
Bloody Fist Fight League (xXx)
2012-02-25, London, The Underground - London
Author:Kurt Hustle

Bloody Fist Fight League is well on its way to hosting its 50th event and the march towards that carries on with BFFL 41 to be held in the 1000 seat Underground arena in London on the 25th of Feb. With what is looking like a great card topped by a title fight for the Welterweight belt in the Main Event this should be a great watch for everyone and so without further stalling lets see what’s going down on the main card

145lbs

"Italian Stallion" Marian Pozzollo (5-1-0) vs. "The Mighty" Marlin McCann (7-7-0)

Things begin at Featherweight and this fight see’s the debut of McCann in BFFL. Its hard to see many harder fights he could start with in the Org to be honest, Pozzollo is looking for another shot at the title after missing his chance to win it during his first challenge while McCann is looking to make a positive start to life in a new Org. As good as Pozzollo has been he may have come up against his match now, with his stand up being weak its usual

NFC 135: Tolonen vs Da Man Review

Event Review: NFC 135 Tolonen vs Da Man
Nordic Fire Championship
2012-02-18, Helsinki, Suomi International
Attendance:19,500, Event Rating:422

CXXXV was a common year starting on a Friday. 135 film refers to the film cartridge still for photography introduced by Kodak. There are 38 highways around the globe with the number 135. On Saturday, February 18th, 135 took a whole new meaning when the Nordic Fire Championship returned to Helsinki, Finland for NFC 135: Tolonen vs. Da Man. It was a compacity crowd as nineteen-thousand-five-hundred filled Suomi International to watch the #1 fight organization in the world put on another three solid hours of non-stop MMA action. The main event of the evening was a clash between the #1 and #5 superheavyweight fighters ranked in the world, co-headlined by one of the most prestigious titles put on the line.

The main card action began with a welterweight bout pitting James Kirk (13 - 4 - 0)against Waldorf Astoria (28 - 8 - 0). Both fighters had lost two-in-a-row previously and were looking to get back on the winning track. Astoria used his muay-thai experie

SPFT 33 Jordan vs Briggs

Jared Hart and Renato Pilav Bring us our last Light Heavyweight fight, Jared “Flying Hawaiian” Hart has a record of 1-2-0 Since he has signed with SPFT he has had 2 losses and both in the first round so he will be looking to turn things around in this event with his awesome stand-up skills and very quick hands, Renato “Rensi” Pilav is looking for his first victory within the SPFT leagues as well, with the advantage of having natural KO power Rensi just might get it tonight but as his skills and style are very similar to the Flying Hawaiian this will be a very hard fight to call.

Our penultimate fight comes in the form of another Light Heavyweight between Brick “Smasha” Fist and Chuck Liddell, Smasha  with a record of 9-5-0 was doing fantastic with only 2 losses until back in November when he lost a title fight to Boris Ivanovic and has had a losing streak since, if he doesn’t use his awesome stand-up skills to finish this streak of losses then his morale with take a real thumping, we all know he is very strong and has a chance against Liddell, Chuck has a record of 11-15-0 is at an all-time low with his morale right now and really needs to keep his head in the game, he has come from an org called Isle of Man so is looking to impress SPFT in his first fight for them, although Liddell is better on the ground he still has a very good punch and is very strong so will be a force to be reckoned with in this fight, he will be going al

The Next Greg Jackson?

About Me: James Rhoton

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the new Greg Jackson of MMA Tycoon. There is a new manager that has burst onto the scene, and his name is James Rhoton. At first, people called it beginners luck. That was when his manager record was 5-1. When it was 10-2, they said maybe it was a mix of beginner's luck & some skill. Now, sitting with a historical record of 21-2, & a current record of 21-0, there are no longer any doubts. James Rhoton is for real. His only 2 losses stem from a definite "no hoper" as they are called in our world. Out of 11 fighters, 10 have never lost, 2 are 3-0, 7 are 2-0, and 1 is 1-0. The only 2 losses he has ever incurred as a manager are from just 1 fighter, & he lost both fights easily and in the first round, a definite "no hoper" all other things considered. Not to mention those that watched this fighter in the gym said he never seemed to progress much. Rhoton gave him his chance, and after his first loss allowed him another shot in the cage. He lost this second fight quickly to an opponent sporting a 0-3 record, and that was enough. Rhoton is a fair manager, but a tough one. When you have 11 fighters, and 10 have never lost, then 1 losses twice & easily each time, he cuts them without hesitation. Rhoton runs his fighters like the great organizations, prove yourself worthy at all times or you will be history.

It must be stated, however, cutting people is not what this manager is all about. That is actually the smallest part of this story. Starting off with just 4 fighters, he tried his hardest to create the best talent possible. Young and raw, these first 4 fighters had a lot to prove, but also a lot to gain. The first 4 fights ended with Rhoton going 3-1, & 2 of those victories came by decision. The one that didn't, was a late 3rd round finish. But, now that he had sent his fighters out with the best gameplan possible, it was time to analyze results and make adjustments. Marcus Richardson, still the only fighter under Rhoton to ever lose, was given another chance. All fighters, however, would start training at the best gyms money could buy. They would also be a lot more aggressive next time out.

You see, James Rhoton is a true student of the game. No aspect of the fight game goes unnoticed by him. As big of a MMA fan as they come, plus being a man who trains himself, he understands the game as few others do. What to look for in a new fighter , how to train his fighters for an upcoming fight, and most important how to analyze both his own fighter & the opponent to create the most dominating game plan possible. These are the 3 rules he lives by. His fighters will tell you that if you work under James Rhoton, you work your rear end off. No excuses and no distractions. You train, you fight, and you win. That is the life. He is also as fair as he is tough. For every hour a fighter puts in at the gym, he matches it, finding opponents, setting training schedules, and analyzing previous fights. It's all

Untouchable Fight League

Video article by John Hetfield

Earlier in the week, the MMA world welcomed a brand new fight organization; Untouchable Fight League. Untouchable Fight League (UFL) has covered ground very quick and currently have signed 41 fighters and booked their first two events; UFL 1: Uprising (March 3rd) & UFL 2: No Remorse (March 10th).

Both events have great fighters on it and all of them will be featured in our future previews and reviews for each event.

Of course like every company the UFL is looking to grow more and is still looking for fighters. If you are interested to sign with the fight organization, contact John Hetfield via PM. We’re hiring fighters for the 155lbs, 170lbs, 185lbs, 205lbs and 265lbs divisions (ID 150k+ only) and also will provide the newly signed fighters with a sponsorship from Untouchable Fight Gear, another branch from the same founders as UFL (John Hetfield & Logan Ulrich). New fighters and managers will make a good amount of cash as well as having fair matches. The company also offers support to its fighters and managers, financially and by giving advice.

The UFL has decided to wait with title matches for the first few events and are looking to be putting the championship gold on the line from the UFL 5 show and onwards.

So what are you waiting for? Come and join the league!

My take on Ascension Anniversary

Editorial by Speedy Gonzaitev

First off, I want to congratulate Josh on this momentous card and for being a lot tougher than me when it came to running orgs as i quick after 6 months to almost certainly never return to running them. Josh your a great guy, a great org owner and a pretty good manager to boot. I am privileged to have the ability to call you my friend. I may not have the name recognition when it comes to writing as some other managers but I do my fair share of work and I will share my take on this momentous moment, journey and event.

Its early in the morning on a Saturday in mid February outside of Spetznaz Training Center, the secretive gym and headquarters for the recently displaced crazy Russian Alexi Zaitev. Mr. Zaitev has been a somewhat respected member of the Tycoon community for almost 2 years now with that day being in early June. For roughly a year of that time, he has become good friends with many org owners though arguably the best relationship that he has developed is with Josh aka Skinny Vince. Mr. Zaitev had the privilege of welcoming him into the then International Fight Clan early last year and was a good soundboard for Josh as he first entered the organization ownership standpoint. While it was very tough sledding in the early going, Josh's flair for business became evident with numerous mergers he pulled off with organizations in Los Angeles slowly becoming the dominant org in the city. Towards the end of the year, Josh chose to leave IFC for another alliance but there were no hard feelings between either of us. Today, we are hear to

Big Trouble in The Big Apple

Editorial by

As a new member of the MMA Tycoon community, and thus also a new manager, I skimmed through the “New User’s Guide” and immediately wanted to bust out a profile, create some real Franken-fighters, and get to crackin heads and decorating my gloves with someone’s guts.  I mean, that IS the fun of it, right? Why wait and read, and read, and then read some more? I mean “F*&%”, I graduated with 2 degrees ( none of which I’m using by the way), so I’ve basically already read half of my life away, right?

Getting all caught up in my own excitement, like Ellen DeGeneras at a Victoria Secret’s Panty Party, I thought,  “Well, where is a better place to start this thing than in one of the biggest hotspots in the entire world”? That’s right, I’m talk’in about  “The Big Apple”!  New York, NY! Home of my beloved pin-striped Yankees, storied legends like the Babe, Joe Dimaggio, Cassius Clay, the American gangster, Broadway, Madison Square Garden, and the New York style hotdog.  It was
