    • This preview has come out a bit early because I was planning to write this over the course of the week but I obviously didn't follow the plan so you guys can enjoy the write up a few days early. A review will come out 1-2 days after the event has taken place.   UCF 36: Hunter v LaFleur - Preview   Main Card   Heavyweight -  Isopaa Hunter v Jean Francois LaFleur   The undefeated European, Isopaa Hunter has achieved an impressive 12-0 record in professional MMA fighting so far in his 11 month old career. This will be his first fight at UCF and arguably the hardest fight of his career yet.   He will be facing up against one of the LaFleur twins in Jean Francois LaFleur. He is currently coming off of a 3 fight win streak against some very tough competition in which he finished all 3 by way of (T)KO. The Frenchman will be looking to use his momentum to run right through Hunter and end his winning streak whilst adding on to his.    Only time will tell who comes out of the cage victorious but what I can tell you right now is that this fight will make waves in the UCF heavyweight division.   Featherweight - Gopnik Skwat v Tolgot “Amarok” Tochukwu   The 22 year old Russian native is facing up against an extremely skilled grappler that boasts a 12-1 record with 11 submission wins to their name. In his last fight he unfortunately lost his 12-0 undefeated streak to the new featherweight champion Jimmy Nguyen.    This is going to be a very difficult fight for both men to win as these are two very high level fighters. Skwat holds the advantage on the feet so he will want to keep the fight standing, hope is not lost if he does end up on his back though because the Russian does sport a brown belt in BJJ and has shown off his dangerous submission game in some of his previous fights.    Will Skwat’s dangerous striking and submissions be enough to win him this fight or will Tochukwu’s superior wrestling simply be too much for him to handle?    Light Heavyweight - Jab “The Dab” Buddha v Henry Shorts   This is a classic striker vs grappler match-up with Buddha taking the role of striker and Shorts of course being the grappler. Both fighters have gone 2-0 during their time fighting at UCF; this fight will determine which of these fighters remain undefeated at UCF.   Will “The Dab” be able to catch the Englishman clean as he tries to transfer the fight to his world or will Henry’s elite wrestling make his efforts obsolete?   Lightweight - Caleb Jones v Macho Fantastico   The 5-0 Caleb Jones will be fighting to defend his belt against Macho Fantastico in a 25 minute bout.   After Jones successfully captured the championship belt in his last outing by way of (T)KO in the very first round he will be hoping to have the same outcome here with this fierce looking challenger. Macho will be praying that his granite chin will be able to withstand the force of Caleb’s punches as he is known to have incredible stopping power with only 1 of his fights going past the 1st round.    Will Macho be bringing a nice new belt back to his home country of Antigua & Barbuda or will it stay strapped around the 22 year old's waist?   Undercard   Heavyweight - Toni “Britadeira” Camacho v Boney Boat   Camacho, the new addition to the heavyweight roster is debuting against the versatile Boney Goat.    Toni seems to have a knack for losing via submission which Boney can try to use to his advantage especially since he pulled off a last second triangle against a skilled wrestler in his last fight. Meanwhile, “Britadeira” has heavy hands and has 6 (T)KO wins to show for it and Goat isn't known for having the best chin...    If this fight doesn't end in a finish I’ll definitely be surprised that’s for sure!     Heavyweight - Charles “SlamJam” Barkley v “Vicious” Vitaly Volkanov (Not Confirmed)   These fighters are both very evenly matched which will either make for an extremely exciting and fast paced battle or a slow paced snail crawl to a decision.    “SlamJam” has a 19cm reach/height advantage and is 15 lbs heavier than “Vicious” Volkanov. These 2 variables paired with his KO power may prove to be hard for Vitaly’s granite chin to handle.    In my eyes Volkanov is the underdog in this matchup but anything can happen and I do love an underdog success story.    Featherweight - Dharya “The Diamond” Bhate v Mateo Sierrra   Dharya will have his debut UCF fight against Mateo Sierrra who is going to try his hardest to keep the fight in his comfort zone.   “The Diamond” holds a BJJ black belt which will definitely be a factor in this bout with Sierrra only holding a purple belt.    The Indian will be looking to stay away from Mateo’s big right hand in his efforts to try and bring the fight down to the ground where he can use his superior BJJ and work for that submission victory.   Heavyweight - “The Masculine Child” Lou Cabrazzi v “Super” Sam Owen   The Italian native will be standing across the cage from the 23 year old Kiwi; Sam Owen.    Lou will be comfortable keeping this fight within striking range due to the sheer amount of power he has while Sam may want to get a bit more personal and try to wrestle him to the canvas. He has shown us a glimpse of his submission game during his 5 grappling fights so there is a possibility of the Kiwi achieving his first MMA submission victory here.    This fight is destined to end in a finish and I personally can’t wait to see this fight unfold!   Middleweight - Enver Karacan v Stephen “Rough” McGarvey    Enver Karacan will be looking to kick start a win streak while the Scotsman will be looking to extend his streak to 3 in this bout.   The big hearted Turk will be setting his eyes on McGarvey, hungry for a knockout after his last loss came from an easily avoidable kimura.    Stephen has a very unorthodox approach to fighting with a big majority of his strikes thrown per fight being kicks. This strategy somehow seems to be working though since he holds a record of 3-1.    Enver better make sure that he’s prepared for the mountain of kicks that will be thrown at him or else his legs will look like mince meat by the 3rd round if it manages to go on that far.   Welterweight - Chester Mackintosh v Bjorn “Hammer Fist” Haelfson   Coming off of a submission loss, Mackintosh will be fighting Bjorn Haelfson.   The Swede is a grappler that holds 4 submission victories on his record who has also pulled off an impressive anaconda choke finish in his last fight. Chester’s key to victory in this bout is to keep the fight on the feet in order to make sure he won’t endure the same fate as he did in his last fight and of course Bjorn's path to victory is the complete opposite... Let's see who can incorporate their fighting style the best in this fight.
