Brian shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Brian was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Stanley is trying to control Brian's posture but Brian avoids it.
Stanley is trying to get back to half guard.
Stanley manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brian can do anything to dispel that myth.

Stanley is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Brian to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Brian shrugs it off.
Stanley cracks Brian with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

River dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Brian. That did some damage!#CL#
Brian drives through and clinches with River against the cage.

Brian breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
River swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Brian decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Brian in particular looking to stall.#SUB#
Brian is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, River has managed to free his arm - good work.
River is trying to control but can't.

Brian's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Brian sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Brian fakes high and swings low for a body shot but River manages to avoid it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Brian decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on River, up you get!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
