enabling Balaev to counter with a crisp jab.
James dives in and grabs Balaev's left leg, looking for a takedown. Balaev pushes down on James's head and hops out.
Balaev throws out a counter right but James avoids it with no problem.
Balaev wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Balaev moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Balaev lands a nice shot that snaps James's head back.
James tries a head kick but it misses.
Balaev scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. James doesn't seem bothered though.
Balaev lands with a hook. James tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Balaev drops James with a straight left! Oh this is bad for James! Balaev dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
