“Mikael”

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3 of a 5 part special

The Interview

Our journey finally brings us back to London, and we have obtained an exclusive interview as part of the documentary with Mikael.

EJ: First off Mikael, this is my first chance to say congratulations to you in person on defending your title against Bua Khao in your last fight. Did it go how you expected?

MB: Considering their change in management, it was a bit of a throw up on what he would do in the cage. We figured the best thing we can do is stick to what we do best, and it turned out well. People talked extensively about how good his chin was in the lead up to the fight, but in the end it just wasn’t tough enough to survive.

EJ: It’s a bittersweet victory for you however, with the announcement of Primal closing shortly afterwards. Now you sit here, a Free Agent. How did you find your time in Primal?

MB: Well I had two different spells in the org with two different org owners – War Pig and Peel Steel – and I have to say they were both a pleasure to deal with. Primal will always be the org that I began to make my name in, so I’ll remember it fondly.

EJ: And now the big question. Where do you go now?

MB: Well I feel I am coming up to my prime and I am in good form so there are no plans to stop. My management team and I have had numerous orgs contact us about a potential future with them, but so far no org has grabbed our attention yet.

EJ: What org would you hope to join in the near future? It would be interesting to look back on this when it’s released and find out if who you join indeed matches your ambitions.

MB: I would say I am destined for great things. Honestly, I look at the most well-known organisations in the world and sure there is some appeal, but I wanna be a part of something that will be big in the future. I want to spearhead the rise of an org to the very top of the food chain. If an org can match my level of ambition, then I would say I would be very happy with joining them.

The World Tour

With that, our interview was concluded. With his new found free time, Mikael decided to engage with his fans around the world, which included a UK tour, and overseas trips to Sydney, Tokyo, Groningen (Where he held a seminar alongside John Hetfield and his sparring partner Stefan Struve) and he finished it off with a US tour.

First off in Las Vegas, he was the guest host for their one night tournament and even participated in the celebrity game, placing 3rd out of 12. He would have a meet and greet the next day before flying out to New York the next day. Wanting to soak in the sights, he spent the day touring the city, meeting many fans along the way, before flying to his final destination for the trip, Los Angeles.

A meet and greet and a training seminar awaited him, and his popularity amongst the fans was at an all-time high. His seminars were a huge hit, with the fans appreciating his knowledge and insight into the MMA scene. It was at his Meet and Greet however, that he would find his future becoming more decided.

The Man In The Suit

It was the 18th of March, and coming towards the tailend of the meet and greet. The clock had just hit 2pm and Mikael got up having sat there for hours on end meeting everyone. In walked a man wearing a deluxe Armani suit, a beaming smile on his face as he greeted the staff on hand who he knew on a first name basis. His skin surprisingly pale considering he was in Los Angeles, but with a distinct lack of perspiration about him, as if he was used to being in the heat while dressed to impress. He approached the table where Mikael had just stood up from.

?: I understand I am likely a bit too late for the meet and greet but I had to meet you in person

He said it in a very excited manner, yet there was an aura about the man that made you feel you could immediately trust him, despite the usual sort you would find dressed like he was. Mikael’s manager Grant addressed the man.

GB: And who are you if you don’t mind me asking?

?: Oh forgive my intrusion. My name is Adam Holland and I have to say, I am a big fan of Mikael.

GB: Holland? Your name is familiar but forgive me for not being able to place it.

AH: Not to worry sir, I can imagine you would find it hard to place me considering my relatively recent exposure to the MMA scene. I’ve just recently taken over as the owner and operating CEO of Aspire MMA here in Los Angeles, formerly known as Just Bleed.

GB: Ah yeah now I know you. You sacked my fighter Red Brophy from the your orga…

AH: Ah yes apologies for the suddenness of that, but we had to do some cutbacks due to the size of the roster. I hope it won’t affect potential future business between our parties. Speaking of which, that’s why I am here. Aspire is looking to become the next big name in the MMA world, much like you did with Troid and then Trinity Grant. We’ve identified some key targets among the Free Agency and I have to say, Mikael is our biggest target and I was hoping to be able to talk to you about what Aspire hopes to achieve and offer you a contract to sign with us?

GB: I tend to let my clients form their own opinion so I’ll go and conclude our business with the venue and you can talk with Mikael.

With that, Grant Brophy leaves and Adam takes a seat to talk to Mikael.

AH: Would you like to hear about our organisation?

MB: Sure go ahead, just be warned I don’t like my time being wasted so I hope this is a serious negotiation. I’ve already turned down some BS contract offer from some Duel Fanny League or something like that.

AH: You can be rest assured sir, we are highly serious with our offer. First off, I should talk about myself a bit. I recently got into MMA management and was given the chance to take over Just Bleed, albeit at a significant cost. I am fully confident in my ability to commit to making the org the best it can be and as such I am looking to sign the best talent available, and that would be you.

MB: Out of interest, why should I sign with you instead of everybody else?

AH: Well, I understand there may be some scepticism due to how things happened with Red, but you have to understand the decision to release fighters wasn’t just for our benefit, as this also allows him to fight elsewhere on a more regular basis than he would be able to at Aspire which I think is best for all parties involved.

MB: Fair enough, okay let’s start talking money. I already got a bunch of offers and while money ain’t exactly the most important thing for me, I ain’t gonna turn my nose up at a decent offer.

AH: Of course, we feel considering your current level that our opening offer would be ….

*Due to a confidentiality agreement we are unable to discuss the exact terms of the deal that was offered to Mikael*

MB: Well, that offer is a bit underwhelming if I am being honest here. I figured you could offer more than that.

AH: Well, I do feel we have something to offer you that no other org can. You know, I first became a big fan of yours in the TUF tournament. The power and skill you displayed was phenomenal, and it was purely unfortunate that you lost to Alejandro Scott…I am sure you would love to be able to avenge that loss in the future….

MB: Are you saying you have Scott in Aspire?

AH: Have him in Aspire? My dear friend, he is the Aspire Light Heavyweight champion. He won the title last month…

At this time, Grant has returned and seats at the table

GB: So, how have things been progressing?

MB: I’m signing with Aspire immediately

GB: I can imagine you must be tensely in the middle of negoti- … Wait what?

Demons Of The Past

That night, at Aspire MMA – Just Bleed 29, the main event saw Mikael’s alliance mate Riff McGee defeat Derui Pake to retain his Featherweight championship. Mikael was cageside to witness the fight and was cheering along with the crowd. Adam Holland entered the cage to make an announcement.

AH: Good evening ladies and gentlemen. As you know, Aspire is looking to sign the very best talent available to it. I am pleased to announce the latest group of people we have recruited to our roster.

Adam proceeds to list off some names and the camera pans around to each one individually. 3 names go by, and the crowd is still intrigued for who else the organisation have signed.

AH: And now ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to announce our final signing to Aspire MMA….

The lights go down and Mikael makes his way to the cage. The lights kick on, with Mikael standing in the centre of the cage, with Metallica’s I Disappear firing over the sound system once more, just like the glory days in Primal.

AH: Please everyone welcome TUF Season 1 Runner Up, and the last ever Primal Light Heavyweight champion … MIKAEL BROPHY!!!

The crowd explodes into a round of cheers and applause. On the outside of the cage, a nervous look comes over the reigning champion Alejandro Scott and his manager. Mikael is handed a microphone and the noise dies down. He looks around the arena, and spots Scott. Mikael spots him, raises the microphone to his mouth and merely says

“…..I’m coming for you”

The crowd roars in approval as Mikael drops the mic and walks to the back, a grin on his face, and redemption raging in his mind.

“Mikael”

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4 of a 5 part special

The First Trial

We re-join our hero….I mean Mikael….The day after he was announced to the Aspire audience. He has a scheduled meeting with Adam Holland and his 5 million executives to discuss his first bout. The gym doors open, and in the man steps, this time dressed in Dolce & Gabbana. His shirt is open collared with the top button undone. He took off his Paco Rabanne sunglasses and tucked them into his shirt pocket before walking over to Mikael.

AH: My newest star! We’re delighted to have you on board with us and looking forward to seeing you drive the org up the rankings!

MB: Likewise, now, who is it you are offering for me to knock out?

AH: Well, we know you want Alejandro, but he is acting funny since last night. Plus, from a promoter’s standpoint, it makes more sense for you to have at least one fight in the company before you get a title fight.

MB: That’s fair enough. So who is it going to be?

AH: We got a guy called Tung Fo. He’s a former Olympic alternate for Canada in The Olympics. 7-2 currently and he’s been making noise about not giving up his spot in the org so we figure it makes sense for him to fight a newcomer, that being you.

MB: And this means a title fight if I win?

AH: Dependant on if we can get in touch with Scott, but we got a couple more fighters potentially coming in so we gotta reassess the division after. I’m not gonna make you the promise if I don’t know 100% if we can keep it.

So with that, the fight was set. Mikael Brophy’s debut in Aspire was happening on the 22nd April. As usual with Mikael’s preparations, we maintained our distance but showed up on the night of the fights.

Mikael and Tung Fo are already in the cage, the bell just having rung to signal the beginning of the fight.

Mikael finds himself defending takedown, after takedown with Fo ruthlessly looking to get the fight to the ground. He is punished as Mikael lands a brutal kick to the body on the minute mark. Mikael continues to land strikes, with Fo having not thrown a strike of his own. Mikael lands a big right hand to the body which visibly hurts Fo as he is gasping for air now. Mikael lands a leg kick, and another, and then a third leg kick. Mikael throws another kick, Fo attempts to check it as he expects a leg kick, but it’s swinging towards his head like a baseball bat. Fo immediately crumbles to the floor, unconscious.

*Mikael's highlight head kick KO of Tung Fo*

Mikael is announced as the winner and is immediately asked who he wants next.

MB: Alejandro Scott! You’re officially on notice, you got 2 choices. You can either leave Aspire, or you can get your ass kicked for a second time by yours truly. You might have won last time, but everyone knows you were getting beat from pillar to post and I promise this time you won’t even make it out of round 1!

New Challenges

Days would go by. Despite the many attempts of Aspire CEO Adam Holland, Alejandro Scott could not be reached for comment. The proposed title bout between Mikael Brophy and Alejandro Scott simply could not be made.

Refusing to wait for the champion to show up, Mikael asked Adam to find him another opponent.

AH: Well, you know with the recent announcement of us acquiring Revolution XC with a view to merging it into Aspire, we might have just the fighter for you to compete against. I’ll organise a press conference where you will find out who that is.

So at the Credit Card Centre in Los Angeles, Mikael showed up and was ready to find out his opponent. Adam Holland addressed the attending crowd.

AH: Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to our impromptu announcement. Following his victory over Tung Fo, Mikael is in prime position for a title bout. Unfortunately, due to issues in getting in contact with Alejandro Scott and his management team, we are unable to do that, but we will be having an Interim Championship bout.

The man you see before you, Mikael Brophy, will be the first competitor in the bout. And now I am proud to announce that his opponent will be….

Into the room walks a huge man. 6’3 and weighing close to 220lbs. He walked up to Mikael with no fear and stared him straight down.

AH: I am pleased to announce that Mikael’s opponent for the bout will be the Revolution XC Light Heavyweight champion – James Adams!

James Adams was a perfect 14-0, with all of his wins coming via (T)KO. The bulbs were flashing, and the crowd was on edge looking forward to this bout.

Slaying The Bear

On the 12th May, at University Park in Los Angeles – They did battle in the Main Event, Mikael’s 2nd main event in 2 fights with the org.

Mikael was both the smaller man and also the older one, so he would have to use his experience and his speed to his advantage for the bout. Both men failed with their initial strikes, before Adams brought the fight into his specialty as he instigated the clinch.

While Adams was looking to grind Mikael down in the clinch, Mikael was looking to punish his opponent with punches. He landed three body punches in quick succession which looked like they had winded Adams badly. He continued to land more punishment in the clinch before using an opportunity to get the fight back to striking range.

He could sense Adams was hurt, and while he missed with a body kicks, and subsequently got hit with a punch, he decided to bring the fight back into the clinch and punish Adams at his own game. Mikael continued to wear Adams down with strikes in the clinch for the rest of the round, as he scored an early advantage.

Mikael came out in the second round smelling blood. He landed a big overhand right that made a nasty noise, but Adams still remained on his fight. Much like he did in his fight with Tung Fo, he hit him with a couple of leg kicks, but followed it up with a body punch. With Adams feeling his lower half was being targeted, he attempted to block the next kick but this was going straight for his head and he crumbled. Adams suffered the triple penalty of being rocked, cut and knocked down in one more, and sluggishly made his way back to his feet.

With Adams remaining wobbly, Mikael weaved his way into range before landing another overhand right which knocked Adams out on his feet. He laid on the canvas, motionless and out cold. The cameras started flashing everywhere, with Mikael cementing himself as the #1 Light Heavyweight in the organisation, and potentially the #1 P4P fighter in the entire organisation.

He took hold of his interim belt, and once again called for the champion to step up to the plate and take him on.

While he stood there, taking in the glory that he had earned, he couldn’t have been prepared for what fate had around the corner for him in his Aspiring career…..

Aspire 44 - Live from the University Park (14,000) : Attendance - 13,393 : Event Rating - 321.59

Betting: Aspire Casino

Thoughts from the CEO:
Last week we had a less than fantastic review in light of the world events but let's put that right behind us and get right back at it, Aspire 44 represents the pinnacle point of our promotion to date with the Gerrald James vs Mikael Brophy main event marking the start of a new era in Aspire MMA, we have talked a great deal over the last couple of month's about our road towards PPV viability and I'm proud to announce to you all we are at that point, that time is now.
The road-map for our PPV launch starts tonight with many of the bouts booked intentionally to provide challenges and main events to the next set of shows with our very first PPV outing set for the 1st of July "Aspire 48: New Spring". The card main eventer by 265lbs champion Dimitri Zaitsev vs Dignity 265lbs champion Kimbo Slice with top 205lbs contender Valentin Skovgaard taking on Spank Crank and 265lbs titan Odin Thorsen in his rematch with Jan Mo, this event is expected to set the base-line PPV hype for us going forward and as such is expected to run at a significant fiscal loss initially.
Our plan is to follow up directly with a 42,000 seat arena Tokyo Bowl on the 8th of July show for "Aspire 49: Eye of the World" to raise our baseline PPV hype and then cement our position on the 16th of July with a PPV at the 93,000 seat Wombley Arena for "Aspire 50: The Great Hunt" and the 93,000 seat LA Memorial Colossuseum Arena on the 23rd of July for "Aspire 51: The Dragon Reborn".
Some might ask "What's with all the weird names?" for the moment we are experimenting with the idea of using book series's such as the Wheel of Time as part of a revamp of our naming scheme as we move away from the "Just Bleed" monika that has dominated our event names to date, it's part experiment to see how I feel about it and part homage to the Blitzkrieg organisation that used to run a similar naming pattern, run and operated by our very own Shiv Redux.
What does this mean for you the managers of our fighters? well the truth is we have had to lay out significant investment to book the 93k arena's and to provide operating funds for the PPV shows and with the recent acquisition of Dignity there may be some wait times for fights as we try to best place you all on these up-coming PPV shows for maximum effect, I ask for your continued patience if you are waiting for a fight to be booked theirs almost certain a good reason for it and I encourage you to use this time to get some solid training in.
Financially the intention is to see how things go leading into August when we will have a solid picture of how the transition to PPV is likely to play out, at that point an overhaul of our organisations entire pay-scale with the intention to reward our fighters with PPV quality contracts will be implemented with increased emphasis on really putting money into the pockets of people who helped us get to this point in the form of additional signing bonus's that reflect our appreciation of your service to date, I have no intentions of running the kind of PPV company that fills its own pockets for the sake of profit, you, my managers, will reap the rewards of the organisations continued success because it's you who provide that very success week in, week out and give me the support I need to continue to do this at the high level we have set ourselves.
Ok let's get on with this momentous event review, but before we do I want to again remind everyone we have a number of ongoing "kayfabe" storylines that reference contractual disputes, issues and other storyline driving strife that we intend to play out over the summer, this is 100% for entertainment purposes only as I have received enquiry of late as to if some of this is "real" it's not, don't worry folks :)
Oh and lastly if you are yet to join the fun over at Aspire Island it's not too late to create a 25-year-old and jump right into the action so be sure to check that out!

Pre:
Aspire 205lbs champion Gerrald James was crowned at Aspire 40 following his historic Unanimous Decision victory over Alejandro Scott in a guttsie performance to secure the victory from behind during the championship rounds. No love is lost tonight between Gerrald James and his challenger Mikael Brophy whom he feels disrespected by in the lead-up to the Alejandro fight with mainstream media outlets covering tonight's event as a major sports happening based largely off the bad-blood, but also speculation online about Brophy's contractual status and apparent displeasure following what he considers Alejandro Scott's "ducking" of him and a direct promise from CEO Adam Holland that Brophy would be provided with an opportunity to avenge is only career loss that seems to have failed to materialise, much like the speculated movie featuring Brophy and his childhood hero Eddie Clark in a move that is described by industry insiders as a power-play on Holland's part.
Sources within Aspire MMA reportedly taken by surprise at the lack of communication from Brophy's management team in the run-up to the fight it became clear at the press conference the reason why his team had until now refused to comment on his future as Brophy launched into what has been described on social media as "pipe-bomb" sitting down calmly at the entrance ramp and instigating a twenty-seven minute uninterrupted rant about his contractual status, displeasure over the stalling of production on his movie and issues regarding his demand for Metallica to be in attendance for all future fights in addition to a growing concern that despite significant fiscal investment into the organisation by the Hollyweird movie studio's fighters requests for medical cover and other workers rights complaints seem to have lacked appropriate attention. Brophy continues to reference a "Summer of Brophy", quite what he means nobody is sure but everyone seems to agree he's very serious about it.
CEO Adam Holland finding himself in-between the proverbial rock and a hard place, stood half way up the ramp with the world's media stood directly behind him loving every moment of it, ever aware of the precarious nature of his predicament Holland allowed Brophy to air his grievances in their entirety for all to see, heard muttering under his breath "God damn it, Brophy" before resigning himself to the humiliation of the situation as Brophy made it known he intended to walk out of Aspire 44 as the 205lbs champion and walk right on out the door if he didn't get his demands, Holland was forced to agree to the terms laid out by Brophy's management however extravagant. "I'll do it, Brophy ill get you the god damn band but don't ever pull this shit again" Holland said before finally storming off.
Fight:
As the challenger moves in to start things off James fires off a swinging hook to the body that fails to land and Brophy miss-places a left before both men find bone-on-bone action as Brophy checks a low kick that's likely to leave both men bruised in the morning. The champion fakes a jab before scoring with a low kick and following up with a nice hook to the body but stalled in his tracks by a solid strike by Brophy that leaves James bleeding profusely from the right temple area, not deterred James fired back with a left of his own and tries to push forward with another series of leg strikes but Brophy defends them well before eating a stiff hook to the body.
James landing another stiff shot to the mid-section really working on destroying Brophy's energy reserves as a matter of strategy but takes a stiff left hand from Brophy who is now trying to instigate a clinch but the champion wants no part of it and circles away with some haste, Brophy now stalking down his opponent cracks James with a massive hook to the jaw and really seemed to hurt before following up with a series of strikes that continued to apply pressure to the reigning champion.
A series of critical strikes delivered by Brophy to the legs of James leave the champion with a noticeably slower pace as James continues to fire off heavy shots in retaliation making Brophy pay for every successful strike, James throws a big-time hook but fails to land allowing Brophy to land a left and a right that send's James crashing to the mat, dazed. Brophy thinks about following hm down but think's better of it waving his opponent to his feet, the fan's now at a fever pitch as the roof of the University Park arena looks set to explode.
Showing the heart of a champion James climbs back to his feet and audibly yells "You want my fucking title, come and fucking get it" with his arms wide open taunting Brophy forward as James swings wildly, Brophy counters with a stiff shot to the ribs as James continues to bob and weave in and out of shots, OH NO! James has taken a devastating shot the right eye socket and his eye is swelling up like a peach!!! he's got blood all over the place, that's a nasty one. Jab jab jab as James tries to keep Brophy at bay followed by a big right, the champion is in trouble but not out yet as he circles to safety.
James working on instinct here looks more dangerous than ever landing crisp jabs and heavy rights as he moves cautiously backwards against the incoming onslaught of Brophy who wades forward working strikes tight from the inside, James's head snapped back again by another big shot and he's cut open for a third time with his other eye now covered in blood due to a gash above the left eyebrow, he's in a bad way as the bell rings calling time on the first round.
James team did the best they could but the referee has given his cuts a second and third look dubiously allowing the fight to continue as James pleads for a chance to defend his title, reluctantly the referee seems to have agreed to allow this to continue but James misses with a body shot due to Brophy's fantastic footwork and finds himself quick off-balance following a failed leg strike that allows Brophy to counter with a nice right hand that sends James toppling to the canvas! James scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Brophy finish him?! James is rocked! BAM! Brophy delivers a spinning backfist that drops James like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
Following the fight as the winner was announced and Brophy's team stormed the cage to congratulate their new champion the lights dimmed down to pitch black and a platform above the cage seemed to begin to lower as shining lights around a platform hovering above the cage seemed to descend as the bells sounded loud and the opening chords struck the riffs of Metallica - For Whom The Bells Toll played live by the band themselves who were all too pleased to see Brophy's team lift him up onto the platform to join them, holding his championship high in the air for all to see as the platform began to raise the triumphant Mikael Brophy into another stratosphere of global fame.
As fireworks erupted over the open air University Park Arena CEO Adam Holland leaned over to Vinnie McCan from the World Wrestling Pro and said "Think you can top that with Wrestlentertania this year?" laughing to himself Vinnie McCan responded "Well you know that was real special Adam, but The Crock's coming back and we are going to make this little get-together look like a barn dance in comparison" contemplating this for a moment the cogs turned as Holland had a wonderful thought "Wayne The Crock Nonsen vs Mikael Brophy at Wrestlentertania 2017... ill give you it, but I want The Crock for a three movie deal?" considering how to respond, trying hard to hide his delight Vinnie McCan simply said "Who goes over?, who wins???" and Adam Holland at this point cackling hysterically said "Ill let you fight that one out with Brophy, he's a hard man to negotiate with, good luck".
Winner - Mikael Brophy by way KO(Spinning Backfist) : Fight Rating 57%

185lbs: Dawid Lewandowski vs Ajax Aquila Corvus

http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14540208712630.png vs http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14505198513137.png

Age: 24 Age: 24

Height: 188 cm Height: 185 cm

Weight: 195 lbs Weight: 187 lbs

Record: 12-3-0 (WLWLW) Record: 12-2-0 (WWWWL)

Pre:

Former Primal Fear 185lbs champion Dawid "Lewy" Lewandowski at just twenty-four years of age represents the next evolution in MMA fighters in the ID range, possession the holy trinity of Elite level boxing, Olympic level wrestling and a strong defensive BJJ base, holding all of the tools required to be a top level main event talent with only three career loss's to his otherwise stellar record against big time opponents all during title bouts at the very top of the mountain in the Primal Fear organisation.

His opponent tonight Ajax Aquila Corvus with just two decision loss's during his Primal Fear run has picked up two straight victories since his Aspire debut decision victory over top prospect Khunbish Borjigin at Aspire 34 and his TKO(Strikes) victories over Silent Bob at Aspire 39, considered to be one of the rising stars of the 185lbs division with his sights firmly on reaching the upper echelon's and a growing groundswell of fan support following his appearance at the Milan fashion show in May were he was seen holding hands with world-renowned actress Kayten Payton star of the hit TV show "Villans" and a string of red carper events over April that kept him constantly in the media spotlight in the run-up to his bout with Lewandowski.

Fight:

Lewandowski quick to instigate the clinch before having his chin tested by Corvus who landed a mighty uppercut before pressing his opponent to the cage and landing a series of sharp short shots tot he head it was Corvus that seemed to get the better of the opening round clinch action with Lewandowski defensively blocking as many incoming strikes as possible while eating numerous heavy hands from the Italian leaving little in the way of doubt that Corvus had taken the right despite a late-round resurgence on Lewandowski's part following a break from the clinch.

Corvus throwing a hook to the side of Lewandowski's head to kick things off for the second round but Lewandowski see's it coming and ducks just in time before returning fire with a stiff body shot, a nice jab by Corvus maintains the distance as Lewandowski looked to paw his opponent seeking a big strike at a moment of perfect opportunity, loading up Lewandowski landed a monstrous right hand that snapped Corvus's head back and proceeded to unload with strike after strike that the audience in attendance raised to their feet in appreciation of, Lewandowski looking strong continued to pressure Corvus who looked significant off his game in comparison to the first round even feeling confident enough to instigate the clinch again Lewandowski pressed his opponent against the cage and this time seemed to be able to employ his original game-plan landing pointed strikes to Corvus's head. Corvus returning fire with a couple of heavy shots of his own gave Lewandowski pause enough to allow the clinch to be broken as Corvus circled away.

Lewandowski landing a big looping right hand before following up with a crisp jab continued to stalk down Corvus for the remainder of the round with Corvus scoring some solid points with the judges from the outside with big counter strikes but lost the momentum of the fight following an accident strike to the genital area allowing Lewandowski time to recover, closing out a very close round overall for Lewandowski.

Initially very aggressive in the third and final round Lewandowski seemed to become exhausted after failing to land a series of wild strikes allowing Corvus to really apply the punishment in the early goings of the round outclassing his opponent at almost every step but sensing the danger of losing the fight on points Lewandowski went out of his way to run into the fire delivering as many significant strikes as possible regardless of the incoming damage he was taking as a result of such a reckless path doing just enough to convince the judges, much to the outrage of the fans in attendance that he had won the fight leading a split decision that nobody in the arena seemed entirely convinced by.

Following the fight, we took a few moments to check in with CEO Adam Holland who was awaiting the main event from his front-row seats, sat next to him interestingly enough seemed to be Vinnie McCan from the World Wrestling Pro organisation who seemed to be enjoying the raucous audience.

When asked to comment on the result of the Lewandowski vs Corvus bout Holland had this to say "Listen, that's MMA, you leave it to the judges and that kind of thing can happen, ill have to sit down with my team and look at this one again but theirs every chance in the world these guys go at it again, listen its difficult because we needed one of these guy's to challenge for the 185lbs title next, I don't know where this leave us right now, we have negotiations ongoing with a number of world-class 185lbs talents and I guess their stock just went up because if these two need to go at it again, I'm going to need someone on short notice".

Refusing to add to Holland's statement Vinnie McCan simply continued to grin to himself as he awaited the main event with great anticipation sending the internet into meltdown as social media hubs exploded with pictures of the two men sat next to each other grin's ear-to-ear alike.

205lbs: Shawn McLean vs Philo Beddo

http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14125840584863.jpg vs http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/27/27w30.jpg

Age: 25 Age: 23

Height: 192 cm Height: 191 cm

Weight: 219 lbs Weight: 214 lbs

Record: 12-5-0 (WWLWL) Record: 8-3-0 (WLWWW)

Pre:

San Fernado native Philo "Cowboy" Beddo has a unique mix of world-class striking and high-level BJJ with an ability to execute a finish at any moment in a fight, his raw determination underpins his ferocity in the cage and has quickly become a fan favorite since his debut at Aspire 17 in a losing effort against Darth Sidious, going on a three-fight win streak before feeling defeat once more at the hands of Cleon Wright at Aspire 33 it was his most recent fight against big money player Tung Fo at Aspire 39 where Beddo dominated via TKO(Strikes) in the very first round that will stand out in most fans minds, a tenacious charismatic performer who knows how to turn that southern charm on for the cameras it's speculated Philo Beddo is one of the ensemble of men involved in the up-coming Hollyweird movie production, MMA-Western "The Extravagant Seven".

His opponent Shawn "Gravex" McLean a member of The Corporation fighting out of Essex, England and known primarily for his extensive amateur boxing background and absolute top-tier world-class striking ability made his Aspire MMA debut picking up a dominant second round TKO(Strikes) victory over legend Thoreaux AssKicken at Aspire 40, looking to continue his rise to the top of the division he was eager to accept a fight with the "Cowboy" and was recently featured in an article regarding child health and nutrition in the June edition of the Aspire Magazine where he revealed as a child he had struggled with weight issues ballooning to 275lbs by the age of 18, but with controlled nutrition and regular exercises managed to get into a stunning 219lbs ripped shape, you can follow McLean's monthly training advice column in future issues of the Aspire Magazine so be sure to pick up a copy at all good outlets!

Fight:

Beddo scores with a hook to the body that leaves McLean stepping back to try and catch his breath but Beddo leaves no time for that by landing additional jabs to the body and delivering a stiff strike to the side of his head that put McLean instantly on the defensive, clean shots by Beddo as McLean tries to circle out of danger but Beddo continues the pressure by shooting in and taking McLean to the ground without much trouble, looking to improve his position Beddo looks frustrated as McLean defends rolling into a sweep and securing the top position, McLean now able to recover his senses for a moment before the referee was forced to stand the fighters up due to a relative lack of action and we are back to where we started. McLean takes a straight right to the face as Beddo continues to be the more aggressive of the two in this first round but McLean is landing some nice shots since the action got reset and goes to the watering hole and comes back with a three-punch combo that got a clear nod from the judges before pressing forward with an another big combo that left Beddo bleeding like a stuffed pig. Now in trouble, Beddo looked cautious as McLean looked to capitalise but Beddo managed despite issues with his vision to keep the Londoner at bay long enough to draw out the round.

Beddo's cut man is working over time as he does a pretty good job of closing up the wound as Beddo rushes out for the second round eager to secure the victory today, missing with his opening flurry and allowing McLean to land a couple of well-placed counter-strikes, Beddo was becoming increasingly frustrated and decided rather than trade with McLean who was now getting a fair proportion of the stand-up war his way, it was now time to take the fight to the ground with Beddo dropping down and driving through a powerful takedown into the guard. The referee instantly warned both fighters not to make use of the cage as McLean struggled to control his incensed opponent who by now was throwing wild strikes that McLean was able to again convert into a successful sweep taking the top position.

McLean content to recover from the top position holding Beddo down as best he could, was eventually forced to standup by the referee following multiple warnings, McLean looking for a finish really took the fight to Beddo and seemed to be getting the better of the round overall until he found himself out of position following a wild hook and Beddo counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends McLean down! Beddo is looking to finish but McLean is intelligently defending himself. McLean is rocked! Beddo loads up on a big left hand. McLean felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Beddo looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! McLean can't hide his disappointment, as Beddo celebrates the victory

Thoreaux AssKicken fresh of his recent "Stars, Stripes & AssKicken's" book tour following his New York Times bestseller list autobiographical debut last month will be keen to avoid the distractions of his literary success having turned down an appearance on his favourite TV show "American Chopper" set to take place just day's before Aspire 44 out of respect for his fans who he said "They deserve the best I can be, I'm a real American, I fight for the rights of every man, I fight for whats right, fight for your life!". A true legend of Aspire MMA having been with the promotion since it's inception it's hard to imagine the organisation without AssKicken who has provided some of the greatest memories in the history of the company and you can follow excerpts from the book in next week's Aspire Magazine as he documents his first encounter with current CEO Adam Holland, be sure to pickup his tell-all story at all good book retailers now!.

His opponent tonight "The Dark One" Darth Sidious commands respect with dominate victories over top contenders Adlet Mayer, Philo Beddo and Thomas Peterson to his name over his Aspire MMA career but high-profile losses to former Aspire 205lbs champion Alejandro Scott at Aspire 23, and current 205lbs champion Gerrald James at Aspire 33 in addition to Rauta Kansleri the former Primal Fear 205lbs champion at Aspire 37 have left many feeling Sidious lacks the ability to get it done on the big stage and when it comes to Aspire their's no bigger stage than against the AssKicken, tonight we find out if "The Dark One" has what it takes to break down the gate he's been keeping of late.

Fight:

Sidious finds himself turned around in a commotion as AssKicken rushes to... kick his ass??? come on now let's be serious lads! Sidious laughs off the mild strike as the audience erupts into a frenzy but quickly returns to a more serious deminer checking another incoming strike and firing back with a counter strike that failed to land, AssKicken shooting inf or a takedown and he's got it as we move to the ground with AssKicken keeping the action moving by trying to pass into guard but Sidious is defending well, with the action largely stalled by Sidious's impressive defensive posturing AssKicken looked for a lose kimura but was unable to advance to a finish and the referee following his third warning was forced to reset the action to the standing position with AssKicken continuing to pressure Sidious picking up vital points to edge out the round in his favour.

Faking high and swinging low AssKicken fails to land his opening strikes of the second round but continues determined to get his man as Sidious continues to back-track narrowly avoiding a big right hand that looked like it was on course to do some serious damage, checking another leg kick Sidious is looking for a major counter-strike at the perfect moment as AssKicken continues to press forward looking to instigate a trade but Sidious ducks a wild strike and lands a nice series of shots of his own that make AssKicken reconsider his path forward, both men making a solid account for themselves with Sidious stepping up his aggression towards the end of the round changing levels on numerous occasions to secure well placed poignant strikes that left AssKicken a little wobbly on his feet at moments but overall AssKicken most likely did enough to bring home the judges decision this round.

Out for the third and final round Sidious looks to close the distance early and secures a clinch, unloading with a fury unseen in the rounds prior and with AssKicken looking noticeably exhausted it was Sidious who went to town on a manifesto of pain delivering stiff crunches to the midsection that stole the air from AssKicken's lungs and pressuring the stalwart American hero with a series of crucial elbow strikes that left AssKicken covered in a bloody mess as his face was sliced open, the punishment continues as Sidious viciously snaps AssKicken's head back as Sidious breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance. Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Sidious engages and cracks AssKicken with a massive lead left hook - AssKicken tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Sidious is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

155lbs: Johnny Vegas vs Bruno Tepes

Height: 173 cm Height: 176 cm

Weight: 161 lbs Weight: 167 lbs

Record: 7-0-0 (WWWWW) Record: 4-1-0 (WWWWL)

Pre:

Following a four-fight win streak that includes TKO victories over Jake Tyler at Dignity 13, Dyno Mite at the QFC, former Pulse Fighting Championship's 155lbs champion Justin Midget at Aspire 30 and Ray "Stack" Bundles at Aspire 40 it's time to see if Bruno is ready for the big time with his biggest test to date undefeated Convicted fighter Johnny Vegas. Primarily a decision grinder with win's over former Aspire 155lbs champion Billy Bolek and top contender Peter "The Crimson Killer" Redfield at Aspire 34 and Aspire 39 respectively, currently coming off the back of a seven-fight win streak Johnny Vegas stands as the fastest rising star of the 155lbs division with many fans speculating a win over Tepes could catapult him into the main-event stratosphere, this one's expected to be an all-out war.

Fight:

A strong showing for Johnny Vegas in the opening round with aggressive pacing set by the Spanish superstar delivering crippling leg strikes and a devastating inside stiff shots well placed to do maximum possible damage from the comfort of the clinch as Tepes desperately looked to reset his fortunes by pushing out of the clinch and utilising his significant reach advantage, when free from the control of the clinch Tepes looked solid, when placed under the pressure of the mounting clinch assault Tepes looked troubled leading to an easy decision in the first round for the judges.

Tepes noticeably stepping up his aggression for the second round was quick to land a nice body kick before following up with a keen cross that left Vegas bleeding from the mouth but not deterred by the pain it was Vegas who leaped forward delivering a cobra shot jab that stunned Tepes and followed up with a series of significant strikes that put Tepes firmly on the back foot as Vegas continued to stalk down his opponent expending significant time and energy on eventually securing the clinch and again dominating the action as he had in the first round.

Out for the first Vegas looked significantly less aggressive than before, perhaps tired from the previous two rounds it was Tepes who at last had a firm grip on the fight making Vegas pay for every moment of the first round with a contingent of heavy hands that seemed to have the potential to bring about a finish at any moment, but showing the resilience of a champion Vegas weathered the storm as Tepes continued to bring the pain, clearly securing the final round with the judges, in a fight that could potentially swing either way we leave this one to the judges.

155lbs: Rodney Smith vs Reno Rawlings

http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/15/15b18.jpg vs http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/40/40b10.jpg

Height: 173 cm Height: 178 cm

Weight: 151 lbs Weight: 165 lbs

Record: 15-4-0 (LLWWL) Record: 5-6-0 (LWLLW)

Pre:

It would be fair to say Reno Rawlings has struggled to find himself since his Aspire 21 debut KO(Strikes) loss against Alexander Nevsky, going on to pickup a decision loss against Elijah David at Aspire 25 and struggling to pull an eventual TKO(Strikes) victory from the face of defeat against Glen Taylor at Aspire 28 only to be dominated by a Guillotine submission loss to Miles North at Aspire 35 it's clear to see why Reno Rawlings finds himself in a must-win situation if he hopes to ever rise to the top of the Aspire rankings with many fans suggesting he may be more comfortable moving down a lower level of competition.

Rodney Smith the former two-time StrikeForce Union 155lbs champion made his Aspire debut at Aspire 15 vs then champion Billy Bolek losing via KO(Punch) in the early goings of the very first round before bouncing back with a TKO(Strikes) victory over Ryan McCarthy at Aspire 23 and a fantastic submission of the night victory over Justin Midget at Aspire 26, since then big time fights against George Nassar and Alexei Chernokov at Aspire 31 and 36 resulted in TKO(Strikes) loss's that have left series questions about the former champions chin and he finds himself facing off against lesser ranked Reno Rawlings as a result.

Fight:

Serious concerns for Rodney Smith following what has been a three-round decimation by the on-paper less skilled Reno Rawlings who decimated Smith following several miss-calls by Smith's corner such as to break the dominant clinch position when Smith was clearly getting the better of the situation and Smiths failure to capitalise on a number of solid submission attempts in the first round as Reno continued to dominate the striking game leading to a second round rocking following a series of devastating ground and pound hammerfists that left Smith seriously hurt. Fan's seem to be turning against Rawlings who has been mocking clearly hurt fan-favourite Smith during the round.

In the third and final round Rawlings yet again secured a takedown as if at will and easily parlayed Smiths attempts at a submission into a dominating control of the situation as he laced ground and pound onto his now clearly out of position and hurt opponent with free-reign leading to Rawlings landing with some vicious ground and pound - can Smith hang on? Rawlings drops a big elbow. That's hurt Smith! More shots from Rawlings and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Following the fight Rawlings drew the ire of the Aspire MMA fan's by claiming "You don't believe in me, fuck you, fuck all of you fans, my contracts up and I'm talking out of here to an organisation that know's how to take care of its fighters, one with a real health care plan in place, look at Smith he's fucked up, he's broken down and they threw him in here with me and none of you appreciates it anyway, fuck you I'm going to QFC" before dropping the microphone and sticking his middle finger up to the cage side camera to a chorus of boo's from the audience in live attendance.

Winner - Reno Rawlings by way TKO(Strikes) : Fight Rating 62%

Pre:

Undefeated Donsone DeNeville makes his Aspire debut tonight following his devastating TKO(Strikes) victory over Manuel Rios at Dignity 49, part of the Legion of Doom camp training out of the LOD: Contenders facility based out of Las Vegas, Donsone has the privilege of training alongside the likes of Gerbert Bryant the GAMMA 265+ champion and Chang Thong Song the MMA Helsinki 145lbs champion.

His opponent tonight also undefeated Burt Rhinehold making his Aspire debut following his Dignity 49 TKO(Strikes) domination of Tom Vos, with a combination of exceptional all round skills and a BJJ purple belt Rinehold from Bad Voslau, Austria is considered one to watch for the future if he can develop in a top class training environment like DeNeville, hoping a couple of wins will provide him with the financial support to do so only time will tell if he can survive to reach his limitless potential.

Fight:

In an initially fairly one-sided affair Donsone DeNeville largely had his own way delivering a stinging head kick early in the first round that left Rinehold with a clear gash across his forehead and dominating the striking throughout the first round only to compound the issue by quickly securing a takedown in the opening moments of the second round before been stood-up due to a lack of activity by the referee.

Rhinehold experienced somewhat a resurgence at this point putting the second round into some doubt with numerous significant strikes noted by the judges by both sides and Rhinehold despite covered in a mess of his own blood finishing out the round looking strong.

Closing off the fight Donsone DeNeville delivered a five minute exhibition as he picked his shots and landed with freedom against Rinehold who seemed to be delaying his shots looking for a big counterstrike to finish the fight but DeNeville put the kybosh to them plan's by taking the fight to the ground following a nice double leg into the guard, looking to control the action but maintaining activity by delivering occasional elbows DeNeville was able to ride out the round with only a momentary pause for excitement when Rinehold in the closing seconds began to look for a submission finish but failed to secure his target much to the disappointment of the fans in attendance.

Winner - Donsone DeNeville by way Unanimous Decision : Fight Rating 44%

Pre:

Having recently atained his BJJ Brown belt from te 3Band MMA gym based out of Los Angeles, Kilo "The Coke Dealer" Jackson defeated Jack Rackham at Aspire 39 to move up the ladder and find himself tonight facing off against "Emperor" Kuroda Atsushii, now on a three fight win-steak following his promotion debut at Aspire 30 "Emperor" Kuroda Atsushii was last seen during a decision war victory over Andre Soares at Aspire 39 and is said to be eager to return to combat with former rival Xi Lim recently debuting with Aspire and a deep rooted desire by the "Emperor" to rise again and re-claim his TKO(Strikes) loss suffered at Revolution XC 12 back in January of 2017, before that can happen he will have to get past veteran warrior "The Coke Dealer"

Fight:

A nice right hook tot he body by Jackson to start things off as Atsushii skillfully avoids a combination of incoming strikes as the fight is pressed into the clinch by the clashes of both warriors, Jackson looking a little on the skinny side is forcefully moved around the sides of the cage by Atsushii's clear weight and strength advantage as Atsushii applies pressure with a series of nasty lefts to the head. Positionally Atsushii has a significant advantage but Jackson wildly throwing and landing strikes regardless is scoring well with the judges and Atsushii is going to have to be careful here as Jackson now free of the clinch is able to effect his significant speed advantage against the "Emperor", to the untrained eye Atsushii is dominate in most respects during this round but Jackson's whily veteran skills have ensured at least on paper he has secured the nod from the judges for this very first round.

Out for the second and Jackson is keen to remain on the outside scoring again with some stiff strikes that will get favourable nods from the Judges as he tries to close the distance and Atsushii lands a nasty looking cross that rocked Jackson and left him doing his best to avoid showing how hurt he was, clearly slowed by the strikes Jackson hobbled forward as if to instigate a clinch but was again hit with another stiff shot to the head before almost falling forward into the clinch utilising the sturdiness of Atsushii to remain standing as Atsushii used the opportunity to land a series of big shots before finally pushing off from Jackson and throwing a really nice straight left hand that drops Jackson to the canvas! Jackson doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Atsushii keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Winner - Kuroda Atsushii by way TKO (Strikes) : Fight Rating 52%

185lbs: Silent Bob vs Ronnie Rolla

Weight: 184 lbs Weight: 200 lbs

Record: 5-3-0 (LWWWL) Record: 8-5-0 (LWWLL)

Pre:

Having picked up a loss to rising star Ajax Aquila Corvus via TKO (Strikes) at Aspire 39 it was clear something had to change in Silent Bob's camp with calls from fan's on his SilentButDeadly.com fan-forum for his coaching staff at the White Eagle training facility in Los Angeles to be sacked and publicly admonished by Bob's team following a series of revealing text messages leaked as part of the wider ongoing celebrity phone-hacking scandal last month show Elite Punishment heavy hitter Louie DePalma had several scathing remarks to make about the quality of training his client had received during the run-up to the fight, with speculation high that Bob could soon be training out of one of the world's best establishments with top team's vying for his attentions sensing the great potential Bob innately seems to have it came as a shock when Bob opted to stay with White Eagle in the run up to tonight's fight with Ronnie Rolla.

"ChiN PoP" Ronnie Rolla representing the Bullet Proof Mafia is a sensational boxer with a world-class wrestling background that has faced the very best at 185lbs in the ID range picking up a succession of (T)KO victories early in his career it was a shocking decision loss to Kiovani Aro at Aspire 37 the last time we saw him in action, determined to take advantage of the hysteria surrounding Silent Bob's camp Ronnie was quoted as saying "This guy can't even get the basics right, it doesn't matter if he has all the potential in the world I'm gonna knock him the fuck out if he steps in the cage unprepared for me".

Fight:

With both men looking to keep the action standing and central we have on our hands a real boxers fight with Rolla maintaining good distance cautiously weighing up the more aggressive Bob who pushed forward with a series of slapping inside leg strikes and clobbered Rolla with a nice overhand right that had the crowd gasping in anticipation of a finish, it seemed Bob came into this with the intention of domination as he picked apart Rolla with crisp strikes to the mid-section and a continuous press of unrelenting strikes that left Rolla largely on the back foot for much of the first round, doing exceptionally well to even survive the onslaught as Bob maintained a pace of destruction that would of put a lesser man to sleep, Rolla would be thankful he survived the first round at all as the judges score this one up firmly for Silent Bob.

Out for the second and it's Rolla again on the end of a series of vicious strikes and Bob again setting an aggressive tone that seemed to leave Rolla firmly on the back foot and reeling in pain, Rolla clearly must have a plan here, perhaps he hopes Bob will tire himself out or maybe he's actually hurt from one of the earlier exchanges but this is most peculiar as Rolla seems unnaturally timid in the face of Bob's domination so far.

Rolla's corner seem's to be delivering some serious words as he comes out with a look of determination across his face not often seen by men defeated in two straight rounds, the eye of the tiger some might say. Determined to plow forward Rolla eats a nice jab from Bob and an inside leg kick but Rolla now in range throws a massive hook that Bob manages to narrowly avoid, Bob continues to get the better of the standup outclassing Rolla at every turn with many fans expecting this one to end in a unanimous decision the 13,000 strong in attendance found themselves white-knuckle stunned when Bob in the closing seconds of the round having comfortably and soundly defeated Ronnie Rolla decided instead of taking it safe to plow forward with a massive uppercut that sent him off balance and allowed Rolla to land perhaps the most impressive counter strike in Aspire MMA history landing as crisp hook directly to the side of Bob's head and leaving him staggered and rock for all to see, trying desperately to check a leg strike Bob fails and is still wobbling all over the place as Rolla steps in with a hook that catches Bob right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Rolla follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Bob looks absolutely devastated.

Shocked by his own performance Rolla took to the microphone and had this to say "Hey fan's I know that wasn't the best, but I got him in the end, Bob... damn son you must be heart broken, you had me early and I just couldn't get back on track till right at the end but I watched tapes of you from that Khunbish Borijigin fight at Aspire 21 and I just knew I would drop you given the right moment, fans thank you so much, ill be back and better than ever."

Winner - Ronnie Rolla by way TKO (Strikes) : Fight Rating 99%

155lbs: Ray Bundles vs Pekko Wannanen

http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/4/4b20.jpg vs http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/41/41w33.jpg

Age: 26 Age: 25

Height: 175 cm Height: 172 cm

Weight: 170 lbs Weight: 161 lbs

Record: 5-8-0 (LWLWL) Record: 4-2-0 (LWWLW)

Pre:

Pekko Wannanen made his promotion debut at Aspire 32 defeating top prospect Brandon Lee via TKO (Strikes) in the 54th second of the very first round before moving up in competition to pickup a contentious unanimous decision loss to Kai Yamaguchi at Aspire 40 with many fan's feeling Pekko had done enough to secure the second and possibly the third round despite the result, determined to show his worth "The Northern Wolf" requested a quick turn-around and was handed tonight's opportunity as a result, his opponent Ray "Stack" Bundles follow's a similar path having picked up a decision victory over Jack Wilder during his promotion debut at Aspire 31 before going on to be defeated by Bruno Tepes at Aspire 40 and will undoubtedly be looking to restore the faith and return to winning way's at all costs.

Fight:

Wannanen moving in early to secure the clinch, landing a stiff shoulder strike before been on the receiving end of a massive right hand by Bundles that forced his corner to call for a break from the clinch that Wannanen happily obliged, Bundles with a stiff jab that seems to have left Wannanen cut below his right eye as Bundles continues to test Wannanen's chin with some heavy shots but Wannanen digging deep begins a policy of instigating a clinch and leveling as much devastation against his opponent as possible before breaking from danger to avoid any real retaliation scoring well with the judges despite his clearly visible gash that by the end of the round was firmly gushing leaving his corner much work to do in the interval.

Out for the second Bundles uses good footwork to avoid Wannanen's opening strikes and made him backup in consideration of his life choices with a monstrous shot to the nose that drew blood as Bundles tried to fire back with a massive swing that Wannanen was able to duck before a series of strikes from both fighters traded in the center of the cage lead the audience in live attendance to give a standing ovation. Confident in his striking ability Wannanen continued to take Bundles to task for the remainder of the round clearly outclassing his opponent with his pin-point accuracy and impressive speed.

More of the same for the third and final round with Wannanen getting the better of the action and Bundles doing his best to stay in the fight but it was the fan's who really won tonight with many considering this first bout of the night a front-runner for bonuses as Wannanen patiently waited for a big counterstrike to finish the onslaught Bundles waded in for a failed wild hook and Wannanen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Wannanen lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Bundles can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Wannanen and Bundles drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Wannanen.

Winner - Pekko Wannanen by way TKO (Strikes) : Fight Rating 86%

“Mikael”

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

Part 5 of the critically acclaimed documentary

By Eugene Jarecki

Following Mikael’s monumental victory over James Adams to become the Aspire Interim Light Heavyweight champion, we were in attendance at the Post Fight Press Conference as Mikael made his way into the room, 15 minutes later than scheduled. Carrying his interim title, he put it down on the table in front of his microphone, drained an entire bottle of water in one go, before settling down in his seat to address the media.

MB: Sorry about the delay guys, knocking out undefeated fighters in just over one round is tiring work, you gotta understand. I’m here now anyway, so feel free to fire away with your questions.

Reporter: Mikael, you have just come out of the fight relatively unscathed compared to what most people who face Adams end up like. How important do you feel your gameplan was for this fight?

MB: Well to be fair, most people who face him lose so no surprise that the person who beats him is also looking the best afterwards. Gameplan was pretty simple, he is a one dimensional clinch rapist. That’s all he had tonight in an attempt to beat me. The issue is, my manager knows how to win in the clinch and we worked in the training camp leading up to this on how to nullify him in the clinch, and also beat him at his own game. I’d say it worked out pretty well from my point of view.

R: You are 14-1 in your career thus far, a 6 fight win streak with all wins coming by (T)KO. Do you feel there is anybody who can beat you in the division?

MB: Not at all. Right now I am the most inform fighter in the division, I’m the most dangerous striker in the division and I am also the biggest name in the division. I have the confidence of a champion, I have the mentality of a champion, and soon enough, I will have the rightful championship gold of a champion.

R: Recent reports have come up that you are unhappy with your current situation in Aspire due to a number of issues. Do you care to elaborate on those?

MB: Well now we get to the interesting stuff. Fuck yes I am not happy with my current situation. Too many things that were promised to me when Aspire were looking to sign me, and not enough of them are happening. Alright, we’ll start off with the obvious issue that I was supposed to be fighting Alejandro Scott sometime soon, yet the little surfer boy who could is spending his time dodging the fight. He tasted my power once, and he doesn’t want any. So instead he’s signed up to fight some guy called Gerrald……Fucking Gerrald……James. Now, I’m not rocket scientist although I am a fucking mental marvel, but I see it as both myself and James Adams were more deserving of a title shot. I just smashed Adams, yet now I gotta wait for them two to fight before I get my title fight? Sounds like a plan to keep me away from the real gold if I am honest.

R: You certainly aren’t holding back any punches, but wh…

MB: Well no, I’m a fighter. That’d be counter-productive, but go on.

R: ….Right. Well, people are wondering what else you would have a grievance with Aspire about?

MB: How about the fact I am getting paid fuck all for getting people in all them seats? Let’s do some fact checking here. I just found out the numbers for todays event. You know how big the gate was? Over $580k. Biggest in Aspire history right now. You know how much everyone on the card got paid? Not even top 10 in the promotions history. I’m pretty sure it’s actually 11th. I want Aspire to start spreading some of that wealth they are storing up like a squirrel with its nuts.

R: According to many MMA publications online, they rated this the best Aspire event to date also.

MB: Well there you go. Thank you Cedric for that nugget of info.

R: My name’s not Cedric. It’s Da…

MB: As you just got told by Filipe over here, we also just put on the best event in Aspire to date. Yet here I am, earning peanuts for the exposure and attention I bring this org. I want myself and my fellow fighters to start getting paid what we are worth. Myself especially, at this point I think I am worth my weight in gold.

R: Something many people are looking forward to is the summer thriller “The Fast and the Forsaken”, starring yourself and “Fast” Eddie Clark who is one of your inspirations growing up. How is that going to fit into your training plans?

MB: *Takes a drink of a beer that showed up on his table* I’m not being funny mate, but are you trying to piss me off? That got cancelled for some reason due to “unforeseen circumstances”. Fucking bollocks that. Hollyweird Studios are pulling movies out their ass for every fighter on this roster, yet mine is the one pulled due to “unforeseen circumstances”? I call bullshit on that, and I’m starting to think that management have done this just to get me riled up. I’ll stay calm about it for now, but soon enough you’ll get your desired reaction to that question.

R: Can you tell us more about the fighter pay situation?

MB: I sure as hell can Karen. I can’t say the specifics, due to “confidentiality agreements”, but I can tell you that Davie Brophy is earning more than me, my new mate at the gym Giacomo Benvenuti, he’s earning more than me. Yet here I am, busting my ass trying to get this org on the map, seemingly on my own from the fighter side of things I might add, and I am only getting paid T-……I nearly gave away the gig there. Close one, but I think you can see from my reaction Samantha that I am clearly not in a happy place when it comes to my finances.

R: Hi Mikael, Tom here from Generic MMA magazine. There are rumours that you want Aspire to start providing their fighters with medical insurance coverage. Is there any truth to that, and is it something you are asking for yourself personally, or for the entire roster?

MB: Entire roster of course. I mean, we get paid sweet diddly squat as it is. When you factor in that we have to pay for our own medical bills which we incur to earn Aspire money, I feel it’s the least they can do to ensure we are looked after medically. It works to both the fighter’s benefit and also Aspire themselves. No malice involved in this answer Tim, I feel like everyone benefits from this and that’s why I am fully behind it.

R: I guess the final question we have for you is, what is your plan for your next fight?

MB: Fight whoever wins the pussy match between Scott and James. I’ll beat either one of them, but naturally I would prefer Scott to hold onto that belt for one more fight just so I can knock him unconscious and take it away from our soulless body. That motherfucker has been running scared for too long, and now it’s time for him to meet his maker. He can only hide behind Aspire management for so long before I get into the cage with that asshole and finish his career for good. When he wakes up in the hospital, he won’t even remember that he was a professional fighter, but he’ll still have nightmares of me. And when I have that title, there ain’t jack shit that Adam Holland or his band of merry fairies can do to stop me from walking out of this place and signing with whoe-….

-The press conference is cut short, with Mikael’s microphone being turned off and security directing reporters to leave the room. Mikael is shouts to the reporters before they leave

MB: Just remember – Aspire 44. You’re looking at the real fucking champion regardless of who I fight!

Exactly what GBK said man. 310k is very new and honestly, he would get murdered by any fighter on Aspire's roster right now. Go to a 310k org for now - at some point in the future - he'd be able to take fighters in Aspire's divisions on. Or if you have another more suited fighter who gets available.

Very happy that you wanted to come over, mind you :)

BREAKING NEWS: Macon Sackett signed a 5-fight contract at Aspire MMA just moments ago.

One of MMA's hottest and best prospects has inked a deal with Aspire MMA, so we have heard from some very reliable sources.
It was not an easy process, as over 10 orgs wanted his signature, but after weeks of chilling at the beach and letting his manager do all the negotiations, Macon Sackett is no longer a high-in-demand free agent. Speculations as to why he chose Aspire MMA over some other top orgs have already been building up, so what better way to clarify it than by speaking to the youngster himself;

( The room darkens and the soundsystem is put to the test by ' Kind van de Duivel')

On the soundwaves of this epic beats, Sackett confidently walks into the meeting room:

cec44790-2d76-0131-5429-2ac446b406c4.gif

Macon Sackett

"I do not have a lot of time today, so can only answer 5 questions.

Pick wisely...."

Eeeuhm, ok, I'll do my best.

First of all, what other orgs were trying to sign you and why did you sign the deal at Aspire?

" I will not disclose what orgs missed out on me, but lets put it this way, there were was a lot of interest in signing me and a lot of org owners will be gutted that they were not able to sign me. As to why I decide that Aspire would be my new home, I can be short as well. Adam Holland. He was very clear about where he sees his org going in the future and that he believes in me. "

Does that mean that you are going to get paid Mayweather-style?

"Absurd question, but counts as your second questions. I do not care too much about money, fame, girls and other distractions. My only weakness are cars.
I love to drive exotic cars, but I heard from my manager that such a thing is worked in the deal. I'll be getting a sweet Aston Martin for daily travels, so I'm not complaining. Should I win the belt, than something very exotic might follow. "

Who do you consider the best fighter at 185lbs , besides yourself?

"That would be Casper Timmermans. He is probably the only one who can come close to me as for level of striking.
I'm sure that we will throw down sometime in the future, even if he would lose his title fight. "

Has anything changed since you were raised by Barn himself? What did you learn from your new coaches?

"Well, Barn is the grandmaster, so anyone after him would struggle to try and walking his footsteps. Harry is a very friendly guy, but for some unknown reason, we couldn't find a balanced way to win. Bjorn on the other hand is not so friendly, as he is not an easy guy to deal with. He has no mercy on me, as he has me sparring Origi every one or two days. He has more of a military-style method than the others, but so far it has been working, so I shouldn't complain too much.
Keep this between us, but I will ask Origi next week if he can perhaps tune down his damage a little bit, as he is fucking killing me every sparring session, even with huge boxing gloves on to soften the hits. "

Last question, how do you feel about Mikael Brophy, our highest ranked competitor and probably one of the most vocal ones?

"As a fighter, he seems pretty solid and I look forward to fighting him one day, to unify the 185lbs and 205lbs belts.
But one thing... my god did you see his blablablabla about his career and life?

Brophy is 24 years old and already is rivaling Churchill his 9,2 million words long biography...what a boring idiot."

Firstly I would like to take a moment to welcome world renowned 185lbs Dignity! champion Macon Sackett to Aspire MMA, after an extended period of negotiations, I would like to announce that our intentions are to unify the Dignity! and Aspire MMA 185lbs title's following the up-coming Reuben Kincaid vs Casper Timmermans fight set to take place at Aspire 47: McGee vs Sarkisyan with Macon Sackett in line to take on the winner in a PPV main event in the very near future.

Regarding the situation at 205lbs, I would like to welcome Meichizedek Halo the reigning Caged Combat Rio 205lbs champion to Aspire MMA, we have long desired his services and look forward to seeing him in action against top contender Philo Beddo at Aspire 48: James vs Moura , with that said I want to clarify that I personally made a mistake when sending out fight offers last night that resulted in Darth Sidious been offered a fight with Halo for about half an hour before I fixed the situation and re-sent the offer of his currently accepted fight Stanislav Gushchin also on the Aspire 48 card, I anticipate it won't be long before Sidious and Halo meet in the cage if they both continue on their current trajectory but I just wanted to clear that up in case it was the source of any undue animosity.

And finally I want to address something publicly that's entirely unrelated to the above recent additions, I'm really not a fan of Split Decisions, they provide a winner but they don't provide a satisfactory outcome, they happen sometimes and that's entirely unavoidable and as such I put no blame on the part of the fighters or managers, it's just part of the game and I understand that.

With that said I make it a policy here at Aspire MMA that if you go to a split decision I will offer you an immediate five round rematch regardless of how many rounds on paper you won, and will seek to make that match-up happen whenever possible, that's our policy, I just want everyone to understand the playing field. Thanks for all the continued support guy's and for the recent contributions to the thread, I love all of that stuff and it fills me with pride to see the smacktalk thread buzzing! Thank you.

Riff McGee - Champions Spotlight:
Perhaps the most dominate champion in Aspire MMA history the great Riff McGee doesn't just win fights, he devours them and spits them right back out with world class top contender after top contender defeated and returned back to the divisional pile-up created in the wake of his destructive reign of supremacy, with speculation that the winner of the upcoming Aspire 45: Isaac Hayes vs Rollo Gracie fight will face off against McGee for the title live on PPV in the very near future we decided to take a walk down memory lane with the face of Aspire MMA "Twinkle Eyes" Riff McGee.

145lbs : Riff Jetson

Age: 20

Height: 170 cm

Weight: 153 lbs

Record: 0-0-0 (-----)

Ever since bursting onto the scene at Intense Fighting Championships 5, Riff McGee has been terrorizing the opposition in two weight classes. "The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGee is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jetson's half guard."
Although IFC is now defunct, McGee went on from there to carve a warpath through the illustrious Gangs of New York tournament, going undefeated in five fights, with five submission finishes. Riff McGee was clearly something special.

Dennis Page Jr

Age: 21

Height: 174 cm

Weight: 160 lbs

Record: 1-0-0 (W----)

"McGee is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Page Jr has his hands clasped together but McGee extends and breaks Page Jr's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by McGee."

Dean Bennet

Age: 21

Height: 176 cm

Weight: 167 lbs

Record: 1-0-0 (W----)

"McGee has got one arm under Bennet's chin. This could be trouble... Bennet (Now known as Kai Yamaguchi) trying to control the other hand but McGee gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Bennet has tapped out! The fight is over! "

Sam Whitelock

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/23/23b8.jpg

Age: 22

Height: 173 cm

Weight: 159 lbs

Record: 2-0-0 (WW---)

"McGee has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Whitelock is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. McGee yanks on the arm and Whitelock is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by McGee."

145lbs : Rick Ross

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/32/32b3.jpg

Age: 21

Height: 175 cm

Weight: 164 lbs

Record: 3-0-0 (WWW--)

"McGee has hold of Ross's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Ross tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - McGee cranks the arm and Ross screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Ross, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body."

145lbs : Isaac Rainbow Killer

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14449390773815.gif

Age: 23

Height: 175 cm

Weight: 155 lbs

Record: 5-0-0 (WWWWW)

Only in the finals of GoNY, in his sixth professional fight, did an opponent finally survive a round with McGee, only to be ended halfway through the third round: "McGee is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Rainbow Killer is tapping! Great win for McGee!"

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/1482792032image.jpg

McGee, managed by veteran cage master G Wad and backed by the Muskateers alliance, clearly had all the tools for success in the fight world, as well as having the support system necessary for any top-class fighter. After the GoNY tournament, McGee took some time off to train at G Wad's Playpen in Montreal. Then it was right back to business.

145lbs : Tyrone The Crack Head

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/1/1b12.jpg

Age: 22

Height: 150 cm

Weight: 140 lbs

Record: 11-5-0 (WWWWW)

McGee made his Aspire debut at Just Bleed 22, grinding out a hard-fought win against longtime cage vet Tyrone The Crackhead. At Just Bleed 25, he silenced critics of his standup game by knocking out a very tough, undefeated Carl Kingston in the fourth round and winning the Aspire 145 lb. championship title.

145lbs : Carl Kingston

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14394960755570.jpg

Age: 22

Height: 175 cm

Weight: 145 lbs

Record: 7-0-0 (WWWWW)

"Kingston throws a leg kick and McGee counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Kingston misses with a telegraphed body shot and McGee counters with a right hand to the body. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Kingston takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McGee lands a body shot. McGee steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Kingston is out on his feet! McGee sets himself and nearly takes Kingston's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!"
Epilogue of a Champion:
Since then, McGee has defended the featherweight strap three times, winning all three fights by way of knockout. With no clear cut challenger for the belt and all opposition laid to waste, Riff McGee currently sits comfortably atop the Aspire Featherweight throne, patiently waiting for the next contender to step forward. No matter what happens moving forward, Riff McGee has made an explosive impact on the 145lb division like nobody before him. We can't wait to see what the future holds for this amazing young champion.

Mikael

Part 5 of the critically acclaimed documentary

(Well, part 2 of the 5th and final part)

By Eugene Jarecki

The Final Challenge Emerges

May 20th 2017

We are alongside Mikael in attendance for Gerrald James vs Alejandro Scott for the Light Heavyweight championship. I remark that Mikael looks surprisingly calm for this, considering what he was like at the press conference.

“If I say what I have to say in my normal way, nothing will get done. Nobody pays attention to that quiet guy who is rising up the ranks, they pay attention to the guy who gets the spotlight put on him. Personally I never cared for it, but if it gets me where I wanna be, then I’ll happily talk that way to whoever I need to.”

“You got anybody else on the card you are looking forward to seeing fight?”

“Yeah I got 2 buddies fighting each other. McLean who was in the TUF house with me and AssKicken. My manager and his manager are good friends so I am here to support both of them and hope they put on a good fight.”

The night of fighting progresses. A lot of solid action takes place, and during the fight Mikael displays his knowledge of MMA with me as he gives me some insight into what each fighter is trying to set up during the fights. The time comes for McLean vs AssKicken and Mikael is actively cheering on both men. I manage to gain some insight into his past at this point.

EJ: The way you cheer for them, you sound like an active fan of MMA yourself and not just a fighter.

MB: Well yeah growing up in a fighting family, a lot of people don’t necessarily expect you to be a fan of it and sometimes view that you are only doing it because the family want you to. I was hooked on MMA when I must have been about 5 years old. Syn Supernova IV, two of the best Heavyweights ever man. Bubba Killsinwater vs Fidel Puno. That shit was intense as fuck and I immediately had to watch every Syn event that was happening.

EJ: And your training, when did you start?

MB: I would have been about 13 years old. Funny enough, it was another fight that got me wanting to be a fighter rather than just a fan. Jeremy Tonal vs Smokudju Womba at Rising Sun 9. I mean, these two guys are seen as two of the best of all time, and watching the two fights they had, but the first one especially made me wanna be a fighter so I started training immediately. Funny enough the Co-Main event that day had Eddie Clark vs Garrett Bukovsky and watching Clark fight was just inspirational man. He became one of my heroes. Lucky enough for me, both of those guys eventually signed with my manager and I got to train with them both.

Just as he finishes that sentence, McLean unleashes a barrage of strikes to AssKicken, forcing the referee to stop the fight and he is declared the winner.

MB: I feel bad for Thoreaux but that was just brutal by Shawn. Holy shit. I’m sure we’ll see both of them at Sully’s when we get back to London anyway.

The time had come for Scott vs James.

Both men entered the cage, and as I saw Scott walking to the cage, I noticed that Mikael was burning a hole in him with his eyes.

Throughout the entire duration of the fight, Mikael remained quiet, unwavering and unflinching. He saw as Scott narrowly edged the first two rounds, but he pointed out to me that Scott was already drained of energy.

Rounds 3 to 5 were a domination job by James, as Scott was simply unable to do anything to prevent the English born striker from picking him apart seemingly at will.

The bout went to a decision, and the commentator announced it to be a Unanimous Decision victory for James. Mikael was still analysing James as the decision was read, but then got up to leave, until James took to the mic following the fight.

"Yo Brophy, to be the man you have got to beat the man, and I'm the fucking man now, what of it? Come get some".

Mikael looked like he was almost about to get into the cage to confront him, but decided better of it as we made our way out of the building.

Aspire Family BBQ

Shortly after we were invited to attend the first Aspire Annual BBQ held in Orange County, which was organised by the Aspire Wife’s Association. This was to be a chance for Aspire Management to get to know their roster better along with some announcements to be made also.

Mikael was in attendance and we asked him about the event.

EJ: You don’t tend to see much of this in the MMA world, so how do you feel about something like this which is meant to give you a chance to get to know your fellow fighters and your employers better?

MB: I tend to just stick with the guys I already know. Thoreaux and Shawn showed up and look like they are competing in a food eating contest. I saw Riff McGee and Alessandro Orsini. Riff’s already the champ and Alessandro is going for the title like me so we had a good talk about different things. I’m just looking forward to seeing what these announcements will be. But hopefully I get to have a chat with Adam since I got some issues to talk to him about.

We didn’t have to wait long, with Aspire CEO Adam Holland taking to the makeshift stage set up for the event.

AH: Ahem, hello everyone and welcome to the first annual BBQ, the first of many I hope! I want to give a big thank you to the Aspire Wife’s Association for the organisation they put into this event and I think we can say it has been a huge success. I just wanted to use this platform as a way to inform you of some of the things happening on the administration side of the org.

Firstly, I would like to announce that we have completed the signing of an agreement with an unnamed organisation that will see their fighters join the current roster of Aspire. We will be honouring their contracts they had over there before negotiating them within our pay scale since some of them are on, it has to be said, unfitting contracts.

I could see Mikael tense up a bit at hearing this, likely because he had recently been feeling underpaid and underappreciated for the work he put into promoting both himself and Aspire, along with something he said he couldn’t discuss with me due to confidentiality.

AH: On top of that, we are pleased to announce that as part of our ongoing partnership with Hollyweird Studios, we have a number of new projects that will be going out soon starring the fighters of Aspire! We have already released Here Comes The Doom!!! Starring Boners McGee, Never Back Up with Rollo Gracie, and The Beetle King with Casper Timmermans. We have a number of future plans that we feel will be exceptio-

At this point, Mikael has already left me and it now walking up the stage.

MB: So you are planning on producing more movies instead of fulfilling some of those that you already promised to your fighters? Where exactly is that movie role I was supposed to be given with Eddie Clark in The Fast and The Forsaken?

AH: Mikael I can explain, just allow me to…

MB: In fact, I got a number of issues here that I might as well get off my chest while we are having a discussion about grievances. First off, my contract at this point for everything I have done for the company absolutely sucks. Then you got the issue of my movie role being taken away. I don’t know how many times I have said it, but I wanna have Metallica play me into the cage live at an event. Oh, and I’m willing to let the fact I never got my fight with Alejandro Scott go as long as we don’t have any more issues in the future.

Adam Holland is just stood there, looking stunned. Not a word came out of his mouth, before Mikael made one last request.

MB: Oh, and if at all possible considering how difficult it seems to be for you to organise something, I’d like your Wife’s Association to set up a meeting between us and whoever the Hollyweird Studios guy is, since they seem to be the ones who are actually capable of getting shit done.

The Press Conference

- 9th June 2017 -

One day before the biggest fight of Mikael’s career, and he is sat in his chair at the press conference along with Adam Holland, and Gerrald James on the opposite side, along with other main card fighters. The conference got underway, with Holland welcoming the gathered journalists and inviting them to open the questioning, suggesting they begin in order of the fights on the main card. Around 30 minutes after the questions begin, they get onto the main event, which they have left plenty of time for in anticipation of a war of words between the two men.

James is asked questions such as what the title means to him, how his training went, and what he expects to come from Mikael in the fight. His answers were standard, offering no major insight into his training or his thought process, as he clearly looks to limit the amount of information he gives to the public on his preparations. Finally, the journalists begin their questioning of Mikael.

R: Mikael, this is possibly the biggest fight of your career, a chance for you to claim the Aspire MMA Light Heavyweight championship. How do you feel your career has prepared you for this bout?

MB: No comment.

R: Oh um well….How do you feel that you are fighting Gerrald James and not Alejandro Scott for the title?

MB: No comment.

R: How do you feel about James as the champion?

MB: No comment.

R: Are you refusing to answer due your reported unhappiness with Aspire management?

MB: *Mikael gives a little smile, looks at Adam Holland, before returning his view to the journalists* ….. No comment.

R: I suppose the final question is there has been speculation as to what potentially may happen should you win the title. Can you confirm or dispel the rumours that you are apparently willing to walk away from Aspire MMA as the champion should you not be granted the requests and demands you have laid out to them?

MB: No comment.

With that, Mikael simply gets up and leaves the room. The media are left stunned at Mikael’s unwillingness to answer their questions and they try questioning Adam Holland on what just transpired, with the Aspire CEO left just as confused as the press hounding him.

Taking The Spotlight

The night of the fight had finally arrived, it is shortly before the event is due to begin and I am talking with Mikael in his locker room.

EJ: Well Mikael, the time has almost arrived for us to bring an end to the documentary. I have to say, it has been a pleasure to have talked to you, recorded your journey through TUF all the way up until this point and I think regardless of whether you won or lose, you can be very proud of yourself for what you have accomplished.

MB: Thanks man. It was a pleasure to take part in this project. Feels weird that I won’t have a camera following me all the time now but I’m sure I’ll get used to it again.

EJ: I better head off and get to my seat, but best of luck with the fight tonight.

With that, I left Mikael to complete his preparations. As I leave, his manager Grant Brophy walks into the room, gives me a greeting, before closing the door behind him. I hear faintly through the door Grant say “It’s all set” before I decide to leave and get to cageside.

It was another entertaining night of fighting, with many of the fights providing some appreciated spectacles. One thing I did learn from Mikael’s preparations is that he doesn’t look at the results from earlier on the card until after. Perhaps a good idea, as both Shawn McLean and Thoreaux AssKicken would suffer losses. Both by (T)KO.

The Co-Main Event has just finished, and everyone is gearing up for the Main Event to begin shortly, but an announcement on the PA system would start up.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, there will be a brief intermission before the main event begins. You are advised to use this time to buy refreshments or to use the toilet facilities available to ensure you do not miss any of the action!”

Many were confused at this announcement, as there was an intermission just before the Co-Main Event. Barely a soul would arise from their seat, and I had noticed Adam Holland began to look flustered and worried by the walkin ramp.

Suddenly, Mikael appeared on the stage, dressed in his fight gear, but was not making his way down to the cage. Instead, he sat with his legs folded in a meditation-like way, and proceeded to address the audience in attendance.

MB: You know, I try to be the best person I can be. Ask anybody who knows me, and they’ll talk about how I’m a nice guy, I help people, et cetera, et cetera. But the issue with being that nice guy, and not speaking your mind, is that people then start to believe they can just walk all over you when they feel like it.

Some people feel that they can do whatever they please in regards to you, since they don’t believe you will actually do or say anything. I found myself in one of these situations recently. I’ve done my best for this company, I have put my body on the line for this company, and my numbers speak for themselves when it comes to me appearing in an Aspire MMA cage.

I was the Main Event against James Adams, and that event is #1 when it comes to the highest rated event in Aspire history. That same event, #2 when it comes to highest gate in Aspire history, although I heard rumours that this event broke that record so we’ll find out next week about that one. And yet, for an event so huge for the company, you know what the fighter pay was like? Not even top 10.

I work my ass off for this company, yet they don’t seem to appreciate when a fighter puts in the work needed to move this company forward.

So while we are getting paid jack shit in here for making the company one of the hottest things in the MMA world today, you know what Aspire are doing?

Buying a certain org called Dignity and bringing their fighters in, oh and paying them all a tonne more than we are earning here. Some might call this sour grapes, I call it getting a fair share.

I thought I was going to be getting the promotion for myself that reflects my worth to this company. I was supposed to be making a movie with “Fast” Eddie Clark. It was gonna be the blockbuster that kicked off the summer! That got flushed down the drain, with no explanation to me, yet I hear that “Hollyweird Studios” are planning on making more films without addressing the issue of what they already promised.

Now I have heard rumours and talk on why the movie failed to come into production, and some of them might be right. Myself however, I’m just gonna call it out right now.

*At this point, Adam Holland has moved from his seat and makes his way up the entrance ramp.*

Ah perfect timing Adam. So as I was saying….woah woah there Adam. You might wanna put a stop to your powerwalking regime to get to me and have a little listen to what I have to say. It might just help you in the long run.

*Adam is looking annoyed at being addressed in this way, but with the media staring at him and the potential negative press that could come the orgs way, decides to stand there and let Mikael continue*

MB: Glad we got that sorted! As I was saying once more, I have a feeling this is Aspire Management’s way of trying to keep me in line. I think it’s something to do with the fact I want fair pay among Aspire fighters. Maybe it’s something to do with me wanting some goddamn medical coverage. Who knows? It could even have something to do with the fact that they couldn’t come up with the Alejandro Scott fight for me, and this is their way of showing they are in control and have all the power.

But really who knows? I’m just a simple fighter am I not? And they are the people who pay my wages and allow me to compete. Except, I’m the one sat here, right now, with a microphone. Oh and this isn’t one of your microphones Adam, so don’t think you are gonna be able to silence me so easily like at the press conference.

So, now allow me to answer those questions from that press conference.

My thoughts on Scott? I think he is a surfing pussy who deliberately lost the title to James just so he wouldn’t have to fight me.

My thoughts on James as the champ? I think he is a paper champ based on the last question. If he beats me, fair enough I will congratulate him. I will also be looking for him to undergo a drug test cos he ain’t beating me without some kind of nutritional miracle.

Am I disgruntled at Aspire management? Just a little bit I guess. I mean, these are only small issues, but guess what, small issues add up. So Adam, here is a list of things you can do to aid your situation.

Metallica, one of these events, playing me into the octagon or out of it. Either way, don’t matter.

The promotion you are giving all these other fighters? Send some my way.

Pay fighters better, and sure as hell give them medical coverage.

I’ll give you credit, you do a fucking good job when it comes to running the company, particularly compared to the other nuts in the same job at other orgs, but I have no issue with winning that title, and walking on out of Aspire as the champ.

We are in June people, we got 3 whole months of summer to look forward to. This is going to be the “Summer of Brophy”. I’m the best fighter you can possibly find in Aspire today, I am the best man to lead this company forward, and I am going to one day become the P4P best fighter in the goddamn world.

We can solve all of these issues at a later date, but I’m telling you, that Metallica one better happen soon.

While not having a microphone enabled, sources claimed that Adam Holland was heard saying “I'll do it, Brophy I’ll get you the god damn band but don't ever pull this shit again”. He proceeded to storm off the ramp and back to his seat, where he can be seen pulling out his phone and furiously calling someone’s number.

As he does, Metallica’s For Whom The Bell tolls comes on in the arena, Mikael’s corner comes out to meet him, and they walk down to the cage. Ready to fight.

Conquering The Division

The fight is about to happen. Mikael is stood in the cage, in the last few moments, Gerrald has made his own way to the cage and they are staring each other down. Referee, Verb Lean, calls them into the centre and gives them their instructions. Neither man touches gloves and they both make their way back to their corner. Both are ready to begin the war.

TAKEN FROM ADAM HOLLAND’S ASPIRE 44 RECAP WHICH YOU CAN READ HERE

We leave this documentary with Mikael inviting Eugene Jaracki onto the stage, with the final shot being of Mikael holding the title up high, with the crowd roaring in delight.

While he was bursting with potential, this was the moment Mikael had made it as a fighter, and it was truly a moment that is worth savouring.

Aspire MMA - Just Bleed 45 - Live from the University Park (14,000) : Attendance - 14,000 : Event Rating - 312.67
Betting: Aspire Casino

Thoughts from the CEO:
With the Dignity! takeover now complete and the majority of its top stars moved over to the Aspire MMA roster we stand well placed ahead of our launch into PPV starting at Aspire 49: New Spring on the 1st of July 2017 with every show following that date intended to also be a PPV event as we commit out intentions to become one of the big boy's in the MMA world, we couldn't be in this position without the commitment, understanding and patience of our managers, you have given me the tools to make this thing a success and I thank you all so much for that opportunity.
I would also like to thank Tony Scatero of the 7th Circle alliance who began contributing written work for the Aspire Magazine this past week with a fantastic spotlight tracking the career to date of the Aspire 145lbs champion Riff McGee that received fantastic feedback from the managers, I really appreciate when someone takes the time to create content for the ongoing story I'm telling here at Aspire MMA and I'm really happy to let you all know Tony has just finished work on a spotlight for Aspire 155lbs champion Bonerz McGee in the second of what I hope will become many quality contributions in the future.
In regards to Aspire Island, I'm aware of the ongoing issues with the organisation, primarily due to the absence of key members of the staff due to rl situations. When we set about doing it we had a number of hopes, goals and standards we agreed to hold ourselves too that I feel at this time are not been met, serious talks about the future of the project are been held at this time and I want you all to know that the issues will either be fixed or the promotion will cease to operate sometime in the near future, when we bring you an Aspire product we want to be sure that you are getting the very best we can give you and if that can't be achieved steps will have to be taken, the quality of the experience you receive really matters to me and I just wanted you to be aware that I'm aware Aspire Island so far has been lackluster, to say the least.
145lbs: Isaac Hayes vs Rollo Gracie
http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13938683953524.jpg vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/10/10w14.jpg
Age: 25 Age: 32
Height: 179 cm Height: 171 cm
Weight: 146 lbs Weight: 154 lbs
Record: 12-4-1 (WWWDL) Record: 16-3-2 (WWWWL)
Pre:
Since joining Aspire MMA Isaac Hayes has gone to war for a record fourth time with nemesis former Primal Fear 145lbs champion Blake Green at Aspire 37 securing his place in tonight's main event with a submission of the night earning Guillotine executed in the closing seconds of the third and final round, his opponent tonight is the former StrikeForce Union 145lbs champion Rollo Gracie, never defeated for the title he found himself vacated due to contractual disputes with his former organisation and went on to unanimously defeat top contender Steve Barover at SFU 53 on his way out the door before landing with an impact with an eerily similar third round Arm Triangle submission victory over Misha Collins at Aspire 40 in the closing seconds of the fight.
Both men are considered world-class BJJ practitioners with the key to victory potentially focused on the ground game reports suggest Rollo spent an extensive amount of his training camp rolling with 170lbs title contender Ramon Gracie to sharpen his skills while Isaac Hayes is said to have spent the majority of his time during the build up to the fight working with "Honey" Roy Palmer the UGD 265lbs champion known for his devastating KO ability and lighting quick hands anticipating a chance to knock Gracie out before he has chance to employ his exceptional ground skills at all.
Fight:
Out the gate Gracie is looking to clinch but Hayes is having none of it and circles away with a smile on his face waving his finger as if to say "no chance", Gracie taking the opportunity to try again but Hayes is just too quick on his feet, he's going to have to land something first if he wants to catch him! Hayes avoids a leg strike and returns fire with a jab that fails to hit its target allowing Gracie a chance to switch levels and attempt a takedown but despite failing to take the fight immediately to the ground he is able to salvage a clinch from the situation pushing Hayes directly into the back of the cage and proceeding to smother his opponent who fails to land a couple of inside shots as the distance is closed.
Heeding the call from his corner Hayes summons all his strength to break free of the clinch momentarily before circling away avoiding a series of incoming strikes by Gracie who continued to stalk Hayes down briefly re-instigating the clinch to pursue a failed takedown attempt before Hayes would once again break from the position leaving Gracie clearly frustrated. Hayes is looking for a big counter strike here as Gracie whips into position and secures a nice double leg into side control following a failed left hand by Hayes, quick to establish his half guard Hayes looked to improve his position as Gracie considered passing guard but found himself well defended, keeping the action active the two men jockeyed for position displaying some fantastic limb manipulation and posture with Hayes holding Gracie at bay despite two submission attempts closing out the round with Gracie in the dominant position and just about securing the nod from the judges.
Gracie isn't messing around as he storms out for the second round and instantly rushes Hayes into the clinch, quick to respond Hayes has delivered a nasty shot under Gracies ribcage that's stalled his advance as he takes a deep breath followed by another short left by Hayes that's left Gracie looking hurt and desperately in need of returning this fight to the ground, Gracie failing to pull guard gets right back up and goes for a second attempt! they never expect you to do the same move twice folks, pro tip! Hayes is in real trouble here as Gracie has managed to land in an advantageous position and is now working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Hayes frees his head nicely. Oh but Gracie has switched to an armbar! Hayes is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
That settles it folks, Rollo Gracie is going to the Tokyo Dome to face Riff McGee for the Aspire 145lbs championship, arguably the most prestigious title in the 280k ID MMA world, 42,000 strong will be on hand to mark the rise of Aspire MMA to the next level as we march towards our PPV destination, join us right here for Aspire 50: Eye of The World on the 8th of July 2017 to see the epic next part of Rollo Gracie's climb to the top of the mountain.

"xXx" Michail Podolski returning from his 3rd place finish at the Sports Elite Xtreme championship's last month, a frill seekers triathlon including skydiving, snowboarding and kayaking at the Yellow Stone, Park is said to be ready to take his career to the next level with what insiders are calling a "surprise weapon" he intends to employ against New York's own Balbus "The Bully" Michael in tonight's co-main event, with anticipation high this one is expected to be xXx rated.
Fight:
The fans are already on their feet for this one before a single punch is thrown with "xXx" pandering to the audience and Balbus looking more pissed by the second, that's the bell and Podolski has a leg kick checked as Balbus fires back with a big right hand that leaves Podolski covered in a smear of his own blood. As the fan's break into rapturous applause Balbus follows up with a sharp leg strikes of his own but fails to land a hook to the body allowing Podolski to strike back with a nice body shot before both fighters break out into a trade of strikes that sends the the fan's into a frenzy as Balbus closes the distance and pushes Podolski back into the cage instigating the clinch, both men delivering some serious shots here with a real tangible feeling in the arena that this fight could end at any second, knees fly but fail to land as Balbus snap's Podolski's head back with a vicious hook forcing Podolski to break the clinch and create some distance.
Firing off a massive uppercut Podolski cracks Balbus square stalling the big man in his tracks, that one really seemed to hurt him and he's definitely slowed down at this point as Podolski begins to make his speed count delivering well-placed shots with pin-point accuracy breaking down Balbus who by now is on the defensive looking for a big counter strike, Balbus snapping Podolski's head back with a nasty uppercut but Podolski digs deep to return fire with a lovely head kick that buys him enough time to recover, slipping another jab from Balbus it's Podolski who's able to land the majority of the significant strikes as the trade continues.
Podolski lands a hook that stumbles Michael back into the cage. Podolski follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Michael to the canvas! Podolski pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Michael has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
Winner - Michail Podolski by way Submission (Strikes) : Fight Rating 68%
170lbs: Don Julio Cesar Chavez vs Marcus Browne
http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/39/39w35.jpg vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/25/25b10.jpg
Age: 30 Age: 31
Height: 189 cm Height: 182 cm
Weight: 176 lbs Weight: 183 lbs
Record: 17-5-0 (LWWWW) Record: 11-6-0 (WWLLL)
Pre:
Marcus Browne made his Aspire MMA debut as part of the incoming wave of former Revolution XC talent, soundly defeating Dave Infamous via TKO(Strikes) at Aspire 38, despite the success questions were raised about Browne's ability to compete at this level having started his career later in life than most. More than willing to put his money where his mouth is Browne issued an open challenge to anyone in the division who wanted to test him, answering the call fellow Revolution XC alumni Don Julio Cesar Chavez a former RXC 170lbs champion with a well-documented path of destruction left behind in his wake during The Island Season 5 earning him a reputation for getting the job done by any means necessary, with only five career losses over the course of twenty-two professional bouts its clear to see Don Julio Cesar Chavez is by far Browne's biggest test to date.
Fight:
Chavez lunges at Browne with a series of strikes but Browne shows his quality defending well avoiding the majority of the incoming melee, Chavez clearly the more aggressive fighter in the early goings throwing some wild strikes but not landing too much at this point, Browne puts Chavez on notice feinting a takedown that will have given him pause for concern, the first big shot of the fight as Browne lights Chavez up with a big uppercut that's left the former RXC 170lbs champion wobbling on his feet but not out as he returns fire with a strike of his own, Browne remaining cautious avoiding a wild hook and scoring a nice counter strike in the process before committing and failing to secure a takedown attempt, Chavez responds with a monstrous uppercut and a lovely combination follow-up that's put Browne on the back foot as he tries to circle away.
Digging deep Browne has launched into a successful double-leg takedown but immediately seems to regret his decision looking to stand but Chavez controls the situation and works for a series of submissions that Browne somehow manages to escape despite clearly struggling on the ground, both fighters now standing and breathing heavily it is Chavez landing an overhand left as Browne looked to close the distance but a big one-two combination has left Chavez rocked and desperately clinging onto his senses as he rides out the remainder of the round in some serious danger with Browne never quite able to capitalise on the opportunity.
The second round proceeds with both fighters exchanging a series of strikes leading to Browne landing a beautiful combination that sent Chavez hurtling to the ground in a pool of his own blood having been cut in the exchange, allowing Chavez to stands back up it was Browne who pressed the action delivering strike after strike but again failing to make the most of his chances as upon entering the clinch Chavez immediately looked to pull guard and pursue a submission victory, again to no avail. Closing out the round following a standup that leads to another exchange of strikes with Chavez narrowly getting the nod from the judges as a result.
Out for the third and final round as Browne connects with a stiff jab but is instantly retaliated upon with a big right from Chavez who managed drop and rock Browne with a beautiful combination before ushering him back to his feet, Cesar Chavez lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Browne falls backwards - clearly groggy! Cesar Chavez dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Winner - Don Julio Cesar Chavez by way TKO(Strikes) : Fight Rating 82%
