My friends, Time for the Downunder Extreme Cagefighting to start making its presence known again. We have been kinda quiet with the smack talking and all, but now that Face Kicker has generously come aboard to do our event write ups, this should add another element to our dynamic growth fixing to take place. Without further hesitation, here is Face Kicker's first write up for the DEC.

DEC 55: Iverson vs Bornstein

Greetings fight fans, this is Face Kicker with the Postfight Breakdown, a new weekly segment for the D.E.C.! I'll be breaking down each week's fights and giving you the nitty gritty details that you just won't find if you were in the cheap seats. This week the Hard Knocks arena in Sydney was rockin' and rollin', as 20 D.E.C. warriors came to test their might in the cage. Let's get right to the action-

The night kicked off with a three round clinch demonstration, as Mike Wazowski took Will Messinger to school. Mike may want to hit the gym though, because he couldn't seem to finish this one despite landing over 90 power shots to the face. Messinger's record drops to below .500, and he'll need to train hard to get his career back on track.

Next up was a classic matchup of wrestler vs submission grappler. Thomas Andromalius was able to impose his will, getting 2 takedowns early in the first round, however Robert "Marley" Nester was more than happy to go to the ground, showing he has no problem working off his back. He worked the guard waiting for his moment, and just before the 3 minute mark he spun for an armbar that had Andromalius tapping like a seizure victim.

Two veterans stepped into the cage next, both looking for another step towards the title picture, as Frank "The Tank" Baker took on his long-lost cousin, Beast "The Maniac" Baker. The Maniac came flying out of his corner like a bat out of hell to start round 1, and quickly landed a huge 2 punch combo that sent Frank to the canvas with a split lip. The rest of the fight was all over the place, and Beast was able to out-point Frank by showing some great takedown defense and solid wrestling defense on the ground. While it was a nice win, he'll need to string together a few more wins if he wants to get in the picture for a title shot.

Jarrpi Huhtis came for a brawl, but Mike Child had other plans. Child managed to survive the first exchange with a nice counter-takedown into mount, and then working for submissions both from the mount and then from back control. Jarrpi showed determination as he never lost composure, and was able to escape back to standing after Child gassed himself out. From then on everything changed, as Jarrpi showed his dominance on the feet, before countering a takedown with a fantastic barrage of strikes, finishing off Child with a massive spinning backfist the had the fans going crazy! It looks like Jarrpi may get the chance to avenge a loss in his next fight, so keep an eye out for an exiting next fight from this DEC veteran.

The next two fighters to the cage were a couple welterweights. The Mammoth has shown that he's a very promising young fighter, and James Foster was meant to be a nice test for him. Unfortunately it appeared as if Foster didn't really come to fight, as he was largely inactive during the fight and The Mammoth just dominated him for 15 minutes to the delight of the fans. Foster will need to make some changes if he wants to get back on a winning path.

Enrique "The Judge" Rizzo was coming off of his first career loss, and really looked to have been training hard for this one. Markku Osteri always comes to fight, and both fighters looked good as it was a pretty back-and-forth battle, but Rizzo was able to win this one by showing off his far superior muay thai skills. Rizzo is back to winning, and back on track with his quest for the title.

"The Magician" Zedicus Jones had more tricks up his sleeve tonight, has he just plain beat up Philemon Christou for the entire first round before putting him out of his misery with a nice guillotine choke from the mount just seconds before the bell. He's now the number one ranked 135 lb'er, so it'll be hard to imagine him not getting a title shot in his next fight.

Next up we had two young undefeated fighters, as Zach Hardgrave and Tom Bombadil touched gloves before their fight. Hardgrave had a huge disadvantage in the striking game, but he managed to completely control the fight and keep it on the ground for the full 15 minutes. He showed great submission defense as he worked his ground and pound with some good success, and won a very decisive 30-27 unanimous decision victory. Zach may have won this one to remain undefeated, but he'll need to train hard if he wants to compete with the top of his division.

The Co-Main event was pretty one-sided, as "The Mamba" Svenson Silva used aggression to keep his opponent subdued for most of the fight. Brandon Thompson is always dangerous, but he just never seemed to really get in a groove tonight. Surely a disappointment for his manager, but I'm sure we'll be seeing more good things from him in the future. Svenson has had a real up-and-down career, having recently lost his first title shot, but we're happy to see him put another one in the win column.

Our Main Event featured a couple of the super-heavies, with Daily Bornstein getting his third chance at regaining the title that he held late last year. It was Bradley Iverson's first title defense, having won it just 3 weeks ago. Bornstein wasted no time, and opened a pretty big cut under Bradley's right eye with a nice jab-cross combination. It ended up being a preview of things to come, because Bornstein spent most of the next 20 minutes out-boxing his opponent and showing some pretty good takedown defense and ground defense. Mid-way through the final round, with both fighters looking a bit tired and worn, Iverson got caught with a big counter punch that sent him reeling, before a monster overhand right sent him to the canvas for good. Bornstein wanted to make sure there was no doubt in the victory, and got in a few more shots before the ref pulled him off. Daily was ecstatic with his victory and jumped up on the cage yelling thanks to his fans.

And that about wraps things up for this week. It was another great night of fights, and I look forward to covering things down under for the best fights in Sydney!

Greetings fight fans, the infamous Doeboy coming at you live and direct tonight giving you a break down from an action packed card brought to you again by Downunder Extreme Cagefighting, where if you think you got a rough and tough fighter, you bring him here to test his mettle. Another solid event with 4,941 screaming fans in attendance that scored the fights 179.47 for an awesome event rating, taking DEC to #5 in the world. Enough jabber, lets dive right in shall we?

First up for the night Beast Baker and Lawrence Soliman went right to war in a 3 round stand up fight much to the fight fans pleasure. Soliman worked over Baker pretty much the whole fight. Baker tried to take the fight to the clinch but Soliman didn't allow for that very long. Soliman absolutely put on a clinic tonight landing punch after punch and kick after kick, cruising his way to a very nice UD.

In our second bout of the evening, new comer Raging Douche took on DEC vet Will Messinger. The fight began with Messinger looking for an early takedown but Douche had none of it. They pawed at each other for the next few seconds before Douche drove through with a nice takedown and began his assault with some vicious ground and pound. For the remainder of the round Douche just obliterated Messinger with shot after shot, rocking Will toward the end of the first, but he showed a ton of heart and survived it. Douche at the end of the round tried for a kimura, but to no avail. 2nd round was more of the same and a quick end to the fight with a barrage of fists slamming into Will forcing the ref to stop the fight via TKO.

In our third bout, Devon Destroyer took on Robert Roberts. In a fight that didn't even last for a full minute, Devon poured on the heat from the opening bell, dropping Roberts to the mat with a nice 1-2 combo, and showed good patience in making Roberts get back up and finishing the fight with a big knee as Roberts tried to clinch, picking up a TKO victory.

Bout four Jesse James dropping down from Super Heavy to Heavy took on Jackie Moon. The fight opened with James smacking a few of Moon's teeth into the upper rows with a vicious headkick that dropped Jackie, fans immediately went nuts. Jackie showed good determination though and battled back to turn the fight into a great back and forth battle. Jesse got the better of the stand up but Jackie wouldn't go quietly getting a few takedowns through out the fight and putting the heat on with some submissions, one of which was a kneebar that looked to almost finish James. In the end James did enough work to pick up a UD.

In the fifth fight, Xtreme MMA took on Bradley Iverson. MMA took control of the fight early landing some nice punches to try and set the tone, Iverson however had different plans. Iverson shot for the takedown and began his assault. Landing some big shots, he paved the way into side control where he managed to grap an arm and try to tear it off with a NASTY kimura forcing MMA to tap out, picking up his 6th win. (On a side note, Iverson is a FA, looking for new management.)

For our sixth fight of the night, John Bender took on Scott Peterson. In a fight that turned out to be probably one of the most boring fights in DEC history, both men looked to counter each other the whole fight, but Bender did just enough to get a UD. Id imagine this would be how a fight between Lyoto Machida and Chuck Liddell would turn out. ;-P. Bender moves on to 6-0.

In the seventh fight Kha Ri took on Johannes Vaulen in which didnt prove to be much more exciting than the previous fight. Kha Ri did demonstrate he was the better stand up fighter and in round 2 gave the fans something to cheer about with a vicious KO and gave some lucky fan a slimmy, spit and blood filled mouthpiece! We'll be sure to have him pay extra for the soveigner...*whispers what, your kidding, oh.* This just in folks, he can have it for free, isnt that nice! *mumbles*

In our eighth bout, 11-4 Ken Cornwall took on 6-0 Henry Hazlitt. Cornwall wasted little time taking the fight into the clinch where he effectively pulled guard and began to work his game plan for a submission, catching Hazlitt in a slick triangle at 1:46 of the very first round.

In our co-main event of the evening, long time Welterweight Kingpin Konstantin Tszyu took on Sydney's best Welterweight, Stan the Man. A fight in which owner Brian C said would be one for the ages, and it lived up to the billing. Tszyu and Stan battled back and forth for 2 rounds inside the clinch. Tszyu got the better of the exchanges, and rocked Stan in the latter part of round 1 but couldn't get the finish. Start of the third round now and Tszyu opened up the flood gates catching Stan with a nice flurry of punches that forced the ref to step in and call an end to the fight. Tszyu retains his belt and moves to 11-0. After the fight, we caught up with owner Brian C for his thoughts. "It was a great fight. I loved every second of it. The only sad thing here is that it maybe the last time we see Konstantin in the DEC cage as his manager has declared they are going on a break for awhile. A great champ to be sure, and hate to see him go, may end up having to strip the title depending on if Konstantin decides to look for new management. All by ear right now."

In our main event of the evening, Syndicate vet Vaughn Taylor faced off against former Featherweight Champ, Rusty Trombone. In a ground fight from the start, there were 29 sub attempts between the two fighters, neither being able to finish. Trombone did work in some nice ground and pound and picked up the UD to get back into the win column.

There you have it folks another great night of fights brought to you by DEC. We are always hiring, so if you think you have what it takes, come get some. Doeboy signing off.

Well, I'm excited about the OW tourney that starts soon. I've got a 205 lb guy in the heavy division and can't wait to test his mettle against some of the brutes in DEC

OW tournament = Over Weight. The tournament for fatties. Brings new meaning to the phrase "Thunder Down Under"
