The man known in his home country of Holland simply as "The Bear Man" has today announced that at the age of 16, he will begin his transition into MMA. Although he has never officially competed in a wrestling tournament, he is widely regarded as one of the most feared wrestlers in the world, and two years ago featured on his own TV show at the age of 14 years old, where he single handedly put a grizzly bear to sleep via a rear naked choke hold, after executing two perfect suplex's. Born in a cave somewhere between the Red Light District, and Ann Franks House, in Amsterdam, Meanor has been an orphan his entire life. He is also the face of Baco Tell, Holland's spin off version of the widely known Mexican food restaurant ("Taco Bell"). We managed to have a quick word with Meanor this morning as he arrived at London Heathrow airport: MEANOR: "Today marks the day that I, Marco van der Meanor, become a mixed martial artist. I will train here in London, at Team Meanor MMA, and yes, it is indeed correct that this is my first official team of any kind. It will be strange to now be training at such an amazing facility, after being so used to taking my frustrations out on the local farmers sand bags for 16 years. It may be a couple of months before I am seen in action, but mark my words that when I am ready, I will destroy everyone that comes in my way. The cage will be mine, and I will one day be P4P number one. Thank you." It will be interesting to see how the transition goes, and we will be keeping everyone up to date with Meanor's progress! It wasn't long ago that we was introducing you all to the new Mixed Martial Arts sensation, and hottest prospect on the planet, Marco van der Meanor. The Dutch wrestling phenomenon has only been in London for just under a week, and the playboy has already found himself in a spot of bother. At 2.35am on Wednesday morning, a brothel in East London was raided by police task forces and van der Meanor was allegedly found with three women, though police denied to state what was actually going on seeing as he is only 16 years old! According to passer byes, when van der Meanor was being escorted to the wagon, he was explaining to the police officers that "this is a regular thing where I am from" and that "I'm famous man, give me a break!". Come on guys, he's a young lad... we've all been there! It seems that controversy and young up and coming fighter Marco van der Meanor go hand in hand. Earlier this month, after being busted in a brothel (all be it "just watching" the girls), the playboy has now shocked the public once again by being spotted in a hot tub with a bear... yes, you read that right, a bear. And not just any bear... the same bear that van der Meanor first got famous for choking out live on Dutch national television! It begs the question... does Marco van der Meanor ever actually train, or is this young stud simply milking the limelight as the class clown? It's been over half a year since we last heard from the Marco van der Meanor camp but today we can report that the wild wrestler, turned MMA fighter, who recently turned 18, has signed his first professional MMA contract with Finland-based organisation SPI: Helsinki. It's been a long road for the young fighter and it is still thought it may still be a couple months before his debut fight. We managed to have a quick word with the young stud as he left the contract signing, albeit accompanied by two of the ring girls who he seems to have already became acquainted with. Marco van der Meanor: "It's nice to finally have a home to fight now, not too far from my native Netherlands, and not too far to travel from my camp, Team Meanor, over in London. Training has been slow, yano, just learning the basic defensive arts of the game. But now I learn to attack, it's coming to me good. I'll be ready in next two months." Today Marco van der Meanor was spotted leaving Lakeside shopping centre in Essex, with two ring girls. However, it is not the girls that drew attention... It was the blue belt that was wrapped around his waist. When questioned about it this is what the young starlet had to say: Marco van der Meanor: "The belt is authentic, no it wasn't from eBay. I am now a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and my coaches feel that once I hit the Purple belt I will be ready for my first fight, I can't wait."It's been a long road just to get to this stage but finally the long awaited debut of van der Meanor is fast approaching.
