Eternal Rivals (Tokyo)

On January 29,2012 Live from The Underground in Tokyo Eternal Rivals partners with Zynergy Nutrition to bring you Rivals IX. Eternal Rivals is quickly become THE place to fight in Tokyo who else sells out The Underground two nights in a row every week. I’ve heard some diehard fans just bring their sleeping bags and campout over night!

Koji Satou (0-1) Vs. Speedy Loc (0-0)

265lb.

We start the night with an extremely even matchup. Koji is going to be fighting a funhouse mirror version of himself. Exactly the same skillset just bigger. Koji gives up 5cm and 20 lbs. Both these fighters are boxers and wrestlers. However Speedy Loc comes into this fight with no manager. As long as Koji rests before the fight he should be ok. Especially if Speedy’s manager never had a good talk about tactics before he bailed

Prediction: Koji Satou

Chu Park (1-3) Vs. Jon Holmes (0-1)

185 lb.

An interesting matchup here. Holmes is the better boxer and wrestler and the bigger fighter while this gives him a reach advantage to use his boxing skills it also puts him at a disadvantage on the ground and Park is a dangerous BJJ fighter. Holmes’ loss comes from a KO which means that Parks’ MT advantage could come into play. Park has lost by decision twice so look for him to end it early here. Unfortunately Park is training at Cozad Tokyo and his morale is in the tank.

Prediction: Jon Holmes

Jules Avalon (1-2) Vs. Freddy Berg (0-2)

145 lb.

MT vs. Wrestling in this matchup. Look for Berg to use his height advantage to kick Avalon in the head and end it early. Jules Avalon will probably hang back try to avoid the MT flurry of Berg take this fight to the ground and pound on Berg’s face. Both of Berg’s losses come by decision so unless he’s figured out how to be a bit more aggressive look for the same thing to happen here.

Prediction: Jules Avalon TKO Head Kick

Ralfy Ottoman (0-1) Vs. Mike Swanton (0-0)

Look for Swanton to use his extreme height advantage to full effect and keep this fight at striking distance for as long as possible and use his boxing advantage to full effect. Ottoman has a clear cut advantage on the ground Swanton is so tall and Ottoman has such skill that if this fight hits the ground look for Ottoman to tie him in knots. However Ottoman has to be careful not to get ahead of himself on the ground as Swanton isn’t a pushover and could still grab a surprise Submission victory.

Prediction: Ottoman TKO strikes

Leroy Rose (0-0) Vs. Eric Cartman (1-0)

Rose is the bigger fighter in this battle with a 30lb. weight advantage and being slightly taller. Look for this fight to stay up for the most part as these fighters look like they want to stand and bang. Cartman is the more experienced fighter. However it’s been said that he’s training like a demon and one has to wonder if he’ll be rested enough to use his MT advantage to full effect.

Prediction: If he comes in at 100% Cartman should take this one.

Jayson Rodriguez (2-0) Vs. Tajiri Kawa (0-1)

135lb.

The hands of Rodriguez Vs. The feet of Tajiri another standup battle. I think that neither fighter will want to take this to the ground as Tajiri gives up too much wrestling ability while Rodriguez gives up too much BJJ ability look for these two to rely on their moneymakers. Tajiri has a slight height advantage making his kicks all the more dangerous. 2 of 3 combined fights have gone to decision look for this one to go the distance as well. I have to go with experience here look for Rodriguez to take this one and make Rival’s management sit up and take notice of him.

Prediction: Jayson Rodriguez

Jeff El Jeffe VS. Jonas Dionizio

265lb.

With his height and weight advantage El Jeffe could end this fight before it even starts using his vastly superior boxing skills. Jonas is going to be looking to get this fight to the mat ASAP where he is the better fighter. While not having an advantage in BJJ he is by far the better wrestler so with caution he should be able to take it on the ground. Since Jeffe is coming into the fight with no Manager in his corner you have to think that Jonas will be able to pull this one out.

Prediction: Jonas Dionizo

Chiyo Ken (1-0) Vs. Blue Steel (1-0)

CO-Main Event

Two fighters yet to taste defeat face off in the Co-Main Event of Rivals IX and it should be a good one Ken is making his Rivals debut after scoring a win in QFC over Rivals Superstar Tajiri Kawa and the same with Blue Steel who scored an impressive victory over Rivals own Yoshi Sexyomoma in QFC. Ken is an impressive all-rounder while Blue Steel excels at MT and BJJ. All-rounders are difficult to fight however because damaging attacks could conceivably come from anywhere. Rivals Gaming is offering odds on this fight so be sure to bet.

Ken: +120

Steel: -147

Fabio Big Nasty (1-0) Vs. Chuck Severn (1-0)

265lb.

MAIN EVENT

Boxing Vs. MT in the Main Event of the Evening. These two fighters come in remarkably even for the main event. Both excel in one aspect of stand up and wrestling. Big Nasty has excellent MT skills while Severn has good Boxing skills. Both are coming in hot off wins at Rivals I and Rivals II respectively. Severn will have a slight reach advantage. However both of these fighters are without managers and would make a good pickup for anyone with space on their rosters. Once again Rival Gaming is offering odds on this Main Event

Big Nasty: -147

Severn: +120

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once again, thanks to Manager Mike Fletcher (60806) for doing these previews!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kyle Broflovski (1-0) V. Hendo Diaz (0-1)

170lb.

Diaz is going to need to use his height advantage to keep Broflovski at a distance in this one as Diaz has a distinct advantage in the stand-up while Broflovski is the better fighter on the mat. Diaz will be out for blood after his KO loss to William Dos Santos at Rivals IV will the MT expert get satisfaction or be resigned to another loss.

Prediction: Diaz by Decision

Santiago Alvares (1-1) V. Jamie Wallace (0-0)

205lb.

In this undercard matchup both fighters are about equal in size and ground skill however Alvares has a definitive advantage in stand-up fighting Wallace is going to have to take this to the mat and outmaneuver Alvares if he wants to stand a chance in this matchup. However word coming out of Santiago’s camp is that he’s feeling tired and worn out from overtraining so it is possible that the rookie will squeak out a victory. The longer this fight goes the more the tide is going to shift Wallace’s way.

Prediction: Jamie Wallace

Michael Do (1-0) V. Meogeedo Machida (0-0)

205lb.

Do is a very skilled wrestler while Machida is more of a MT specialist. Do is coming in hot after a decision win in his MMA debut at Rivals II and Machida is looking to make a name for himself in his debut fight. This fight could easily go either way but I have to side with Do. With the confidence of a win behind him look for him to take the fight to the ground and use his superior wrestling skills to keep it there.

Prediction: Michael Do

Yugi Kantana (1-1) V. Mon Key (1-0)

205lb.

These two fighters are evenly matched on the ground while Kantana is a better boxer and Mon Key is the better in MT. Yugi is going to have to put his height advantage and Boxing skills to use to keep the fight at distance and avoid the dangerous clinch of Key. Both fighters have scored wins by TKO so don’t look for this fight to go the full 15. One of these fighters is going to end up looking at the lights.

Prediction: Mon Key by TKO

Jimmy Dean (1-0) V. Cain Velasquez (1-0)

135lb.

In another fight of the 135lb. tourney we have Jimmy Dean facing off against Cain Velasquez. Cain is a young all round fighter with some skills in every category while Jimmy is pure wrestler. Velasquez will have to keep this fight standing to have a snowballs chance in hell. Ever since I saw the original lineup of this tournament Jimmy Dean has been my pick to win it all and I stand by it 100%

Prediction: Jimmy Dean TKO strikes

Chad Johnson (1-0) V. Rick Rude (2-2)

Both these fighters are great wrestlers while Johnson has an advantage in BJJ. Rude has good boxing skills as well so look for him to try to keep this one standing and use his reach advantage to pound on Johnson for a bit. Rude is a more experienced and skilled fighter. I think that Johnson`s going to have to get lucky to score a win in this one.

Prediction: Rick Rude KO (punch)

Marcus Graves (1-0) V. Ryan Agullana (1-0)

205lb.

One of these fighters is going to have their first pro defeat in their Rivals debut. Graves has excellent MT skill and is the better wrestler. Agullana has excellent Boxing skills and is the better wrestler. Graves scored his win by decision while Agullana won his fight by KO in 9 seconds. However Graves has a reach advantage and may be trying for a quick Head Kick victory.

Prediction: Agullana

Caleb Smith (0-0) V. Ryo Ishizaki (2-0)

170lb.

Caleb Smith is making his Pro MMA debut; He has excellent wrestling skills and is the better boxer in this matchup. Isizaki also has strong Wrestling skills but not as good as Smith, However he has some BJJ skill as well so may be able to get a second submission victory to his name. Ryo`s last win came via decision at Rivals IV so he is an experienced grappler. Smith does have a slight weight advantage but I`m not sure that will turn the tide.

Prediction: Ishizaki

Scott Smith (1-0) V. Wiesiek Kolano (2-1)

Two young guns square off in the second round of the Rivals 135lb. Tourney and it's shaping up like a ground war, The Wrestling and BJJ skills of Smith against the superior BJJ skills of Kolano. however don't put it past Kolano to use his superior stand up and reach advantage to soften up Smith before trying for the submission victory. Rivals gaming is offering odds on this fight.

Kolano: -186

Smith: 150

Chris To Short (6-4) V. Ben Tumbling (4-1)

155lb. Title

To Short has a tough row to hoe in his first title defense, Going up against Ben Tumbling who after dropping his first match in QFC racked up 4 impressive victories in Yakuza FC before coming over to Eternal Rivals to vie for the 155lb. Championship. His impressive MT and wrestling skills are not quite up to par with the Champion's but he’s a slight favorite in Boxing. With a slight reach and weight advantage look for him to take the champion to the limit and possibly beyond. However Mr. To Short is no pushover. Win or lose he gives it his all and has never heard the final bell in a fight. After an impressive win over Dante Smith to win the title at Rivals IV you can bet that Chris is pumped to defend his title. Rivals Gaming is offering odds on this fight, please support Rivals Gaming as the more bets placed the higher our event rating.

To Short: 150

Tumbling:-186

Rivals Kickboxing Tournament Rd 1

On February 11, Live from Wild Bobs. Eternal Rivals enters the kickboxing arena for the first time. The first round of the open weight Kickboxing tournament is a go. Sixteen fighters vie for the open weight Kickboxing Championship. I'm not going to write individual previews for these fights. It's sufficient to say that all the fighters on this card are excellent strikers with varying amounts of experience to draw on. Since it's an open weight tournament, weight differences of over 100 lbs. will be commonplace. Will a big man dominate the tournament? Or will Eternal Rivals give birth to a "Giant Killer" only time will tell. I'm actually really excited about this card and can't wait to see what goes down. The tournament brackets can be found at http://www.tycoontools.com/viewtournament.php?id=4f1785c44947a hopefully we'll see lots of exciting finishes and have a great time. There are a few fighters who are not going to come into these fights with full energy and they'll probably get their heads kicked in.

Rivals XII

On Feb 12, Live from The Underground 1000 fans will be packed inside to watch the mayhem that is Rivals XII with two titles on the line it should be a fantastic show. I've decided to stop making predictions on the fights. However I may make one or two when I feel strongly about the outcome. Also I've noticed that a lot of you are still training at Cozad and coming into fights with low energy. If you need help in the game and do not understand how to train etc. feel free to contact me. A link to my profile can be found at the bottom of Rivals Organization page. I also suggest you scan the Noob help section of the forum and read the Wiki. Coming into fights with low energy hurts not only your fighters and your pocketbook but the organization as a whole. (Not to mention losing sucks) I don't claim to be great at this game but I can get you pointed in the right direction. As you've noticed it really bothers me and I will trash your fighters in my previews.

At minimum all newer players should read this thread:

http://www.mmatycoon.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26132

Kenjo Hamura (1-0) V. Javier Rodriguez (0-1)

265lb.

In the opening match of the night both fighters are equally well versed in MT and BJJ. Hamura is the better wrestler, Rodriguez the better striker. Hamura has a slight reach advantage and a considerable weight advantage. This fight will probably be decided in the clinch and the more strategic fighter will walk away with the prize. Both these fighters are making their Rivals' debut so both should be especially hungry for the win.

Yoshihiro Kondo (1-0) V. Hans Spast (1-0)

185lb.

Both these fighters racked up a win in QFC before being signed by Eternal Rivals. Kondo is mostly a wrestler and a good one. Spast is more well-rounded with the ability to win in many different ways. Spast has a reach advantage so look for him to try to keep this fight standing. Kondo will want to put his wrestling skills to good use and will look to take this fight to the ground. If he gets it there he'll have to be wary of Spast's BJJ skill as it shouldn't be overlooked. Both these fighters have wins by TKO so I don't expect this one to go the allotted 15 minutes.

Jon Bones (1-0) V. Justin Henderson (2-1)

145lb.

Jon Bones is looking to build on his win from Rivals VII while Justin Henderson has a W from Rivals IV one from the now defunct PMF and an L from QFC. Justin's last win was an impressive KO victory while Bones' only W was by decision. Its boxer (Henderson) versus Wrestler (Bones) the boxer has a huge reach advantage making him very dangerous. However being that tall makes him easier to take down.

Danny Castillo (1-0) V. William Dos Santos (3-2)

170lb.

Danny Castillo is making his Rivals' debut while Dos Santos is trying to regain lost momentum after losing the 170lb title fight his last time out. In this fight Dos Santos is the better standup fighter while overall Castillo is better on the ground although Santos has better BJJ. Dos Santos also has a reach advantage. These two fighters are both out to make a name for themselves. Whatever happens it should be exciting.

Joe Satriani (2-1) V. Jeremy Stevens (5-2)

205lb.

Stevens, while a newcomer to Eternal Rivals is the more experienced fighter in this match. A ground fighter he has excellent wrestling and BJJ skills. Satriani with wins at Rivals II and VI is no slouch in the BJJ game with SOTN awards for both of those fights. However Joe has excellent MT skills and Stevens has only lost by KO so look for Satriani to put those skills to use in this fight. Satriani is right at the top of the rankings for 205 so you have to believe that a win here would put him right in the middle of the title picture.

Tom Bob (3-1) V. Roger McMillan (3-2)

185lb.

Tom Bob is looking to rebound here after losing to Noah Bennet in the 185lb title fight at Rivals VI. Roger McMillan is a Rivals newcomer after going 3-2 in QFC neither of these fighters have much of a stand up game so look for this fight to be fought on the ground McMillan is the better wrestler (not by much) while Bob is better at BJJ (Not by much) both these guys are near the top of the 185lb division so there's a lot at stake here. McMillan is a bit taller will this allow him to be controlled by Bob? Also looks like Bob has better conditioning, will he look to wear the newcomer out before going for a submission? You'll have to tune in to see.

Sly Fox (4-3) V. Jon Manuel (2-0)

155lb.

Two more grapplers face off in this battle. These two are both hot off wins at Rivals VIII now they face each other. While they’re both good wrestlers Fox has the BJJ advantage. Manuel is the bigger fighter. Both these guys are not far out of the title picture and a win at Rivals XII will go a long way to showing management that they're serious fighters who deserve their shot at glory.

Joe Mammoth (2-1) V. Kyler Patel (4-1)

205lb.

Patel's only loss comes in the 205lb championship fight that he failed to win at Rivals VII. He's a good boxer with good wrestling skills and is the more experienced fighter. Joe Mammoth it looks like will have a tough time making weight. If he does make weight his morale is in the shitter and Patel should easily win putting him back in the title hunt.

Co-Main Event:

Randy Couture (4-1) V. Chang Sun Son (2-0)

265lb Title

Randy Couture won his title at Rivals II. He has some boxing skill but is mostly a wrestler. His last three wins have been decision victories. Chang Sun Son has two impressive victories in which he has not spent more than 4 minutes in the octagon (combined) both these fighters are at the top of their game and both have a serious want to win this fight. Whose style will overcome the others? The grinding out of victories by Couture or the explosiveness of Sun Son. Couture's only loss comes by TKO early in the first round. If Couture can get Sun Son on the ground and keep him there his chances go way up. Either way this is a fight you don't want to miss.

Main Event:

Noah Bennet (4-0) V. Jake Wallace (2-0)

185lb Title

Noah Bennet; four wins, no losses, never seen a third round, two Knockout of the Night awards, two Fight of the Night awards, a head kicking machine. Jake Wallace; A Rivals original two KO victories. Both MT experts with some wrestling skills. This should be the most exciting fight of Eternal Rivals history. Nuff said.

Final Thoughts:

As I wrote this preview I had some thoughts. I know the fighters of this Org better than anyone (Except maybe Davy) and I feel that with this card Rivals is turning a page. No longer are we a startup org with new fighters on every card. We've developed a strong fighter base of young talented fighters hungry for success in this game. I predict that this card will have the highest event rating thus far (Unless Mammoth doesn't make weight and ruins it for everyone) so basically keep up the good work everyone and keep trying to improve your game. Thanks.

Rivals XIII

On Feb 18th, Live from the Underground comes Rivals XIII. Rivals is coming in hot after pulling its best event rating ever at Rivals XII. Rivals continues to grow and is THE place for up and coming fighters in Tokyo. Rivals has a new merchandise partner in Hell’s Kitchen Lab Corp offering cheap supplements to newer fighters and a quick laundry service so show them some love.

Danny Santos (0-1) V. Diago Asai (0-0)

155lb.

Danny Santos lost his first MMA fight at Rivals TV II. He has some MT skill and some BJJ skill. However his MT skill is over shadowed by that of his opponent, making his MMA debut Diago Asai who has some serious MT skill, even if it's his only skill. This may not matter though as at the time of writing this Santos will be overweight for his fight unless he stops training.

Noah Spence (0-0) V. Frank Greene (0-0)

265lb.

In this bout, Spence is the better boxer although he is at a reach disadvantage. Greene is the better wrestler. Both these guys are making their MMA debuts and both will be hungry to start out with a win here. Spence has a weight advantage he'll probably use to try to keep this fight standing so he can utilize his impressive boxing skills.

Sebastian Chloe (2-3) V. Heiwajima Shizuo (0-1)

145lb.

Chloe is a stand up fighter 100% with equal skill in Boxing and MT, Shizuo while having no boxing skill is the better MT specialist. Chloe after starting his career on a losing skid is undefeated in Rivals. Shizuo lost his debut fight by TKO. Even with his MT advantage you've got to think that Shizuo will try to take down Chloe and use his advantage on the ground to get a win.

Don Draper (1-1) V. Jon Holmes (1-1)

185lb.

It's going to be an uphill battle for Holmes in this fight he has a reach advantage hardly worth mentioning and a weight advantage, however skills wise he's at a distinct disadvantage. Draper has the edge in Boxing and BJJ, MT and Wrestling are equal. Holmes' manager will have to come up with a good fight strategy to pull off a victory in this one.

Cool Guy (0-0) V. Chad Smith (1-0)

265lb

Cool Guy is making his MMA debut while Chad Smith is coming into this fight off a very impressive victory in QFC. Cool Guy is a ground fighter while it looks like Smith is a Sprawl and Brawler. If Cool Guy can get Smith on the ground he has a chance to pull off a submission victory. He'll have to avoid the fists of Smith to do that though.

Jules Avalon (2-2) V. Mike Swanton (1-0)

145lb

Avalon is another fighter yet to lose in Rivals. He has impressive wrestling skills. Swanton is coming of a SOTN victory at Rivals IX and will be trying to replicate that here. Swanton has a distinct reach advantage so he may try to keep this fight standing to make use of it. Ultimately this fight will be decided on the ground though and Swanton will have some work to do if he wants the win. It also doesn't appear that Swanton will be 100% for the fight so he could gas early.

Oleg The Beast (2-0) V. Ben Whitchita (1-0)

265lb.

Beast has gone the distance for decision victories in his two previous fights at Rivals III and VI while Whitchita is coming in off a decision victory in QFC. Look for these two to grind it out they're pretty equal in skill with Beast having an advantage in wrestling. Beast also has a weight advantage while Whitchita has a reach advantage. Whitchita will probably try to keep this fight standing to make use of that while Beast will be looking for a takedown to put his wrestling skills to use.

Mo Lee (2-0) V. Smash Mouth (2-1)

135lb.

This is an interesting match-up; Mo Lee has excellent wrestling and MT skills while Smash Mouth has excellent Boxing and BJJ. Lee has two decision victories under his belt while Mouth had two impressive victories before losing by decision to Doc Holliday at the very first Rivals TV event. Both fighters are about equal physically so it will all come down to defense, That's right I said it. Who can better defend against a style not their own? These fighters are now in the middle of the pack as far as rankings go and a win here will be huge for either one. A loss means a long road back to the top. However this one goes both these fighters are excellent talents and will hopefully make big names for themselves here at Rivals.

Matthieu Saunier (3-1) V. Markus Hessburg (1-0)

145lb Title

These guys are both primarily grapplers. Hessburg is a wrestler while Saunier has skill in both wrestling and BJJ. That being said Saunier won his last fight with a superman punch 58 seconds into the first round at Rivals VIII so he's dangerous everywhere. He has two impressive first round submission victories on his resume as well. Hessburg is fighting in just his second pro fight after scoring a third round submission in QFC. I think that Saunier will use his boxing and reach advantages for as long as possible before this fight goes to the ground. In my mind this fight will never make it to the final bell. One of these two will walk away the first ever 145lb. champion, the other will just walk (or be carried) away.

Hindu Kush (4-1) Vs. Blue Steel (2-0)

135lb.

Number one ranked 135er Hindu Kush takes on the up and coming Blue Steel in the Main Event. Kush has victories at Rivals II and VII with two other submission victories before that. His last fight won (kind of) fight of the night honors in a hard fought decision victory over Tom Daniels. Blue Steel is Undefeated in his previous two pro fights, with a win in QFC and then an impressive submission victory at Rivals IX. These two submission masters are about equal in BJJ skill. Kush has a distinct reach disadvantage so he'll probably try to keep this fight on the ground where he is the better wrestler as well as avoiding the impressive MT skills of Steel. Blue Steel is going to be hungry for a win here as it would propel him up the ranks quickly.

Rivals XIII promises to be a great card filled with edge of your seat battles. As time goes by Rivals is quickly becoming the place that Tokyo turns to for great MMA action. Just a reminder to please support Hells Kitchen Lab Corp. Anyone who thanks them in their after-fight interview is entered into a weekly draw for 3k.

Rivals XIV

On Sunday Feb 19th live from the Underground Eternal Rivals and Hell's Kitchen Lab Corp. is proud to present Rivals XIV. The finals of the 135lb tournament are set and ready to go!

Jason Miller (1-1) V. Cole Tuck (0-0)

185lb.

The opening match features two grapplers Miller is a BJJ specialist coming in off a win at Rivals XI. Tuck is a wrestler with some BJJ skills who is making his MMA debut. Neither of these guys has much striking skill so look for this one to be decided on the ground. Tuck has a weight advantage and is more compact giving him an advantage. However he's going to have to stop training if he wants to come in at 100%. Will his wrestling skills be enough to overcome Miller's BJJ?

John Bill (1-0) V. Adam Smith (0-1)

205lb.

Two fighters make their Rivals debut in this fight. Bill scored a W by first round stoppage in QFC while Smith suffered a loss by decision also in QFC. Bill has a reach advantage so look for his MT to come into play in this one. Smith is exhausted and should probably get out of the gym. Look for the more skilled and rested fighter to take this one.

Justin Ruiz (1-0) V. Toyama Tokonava (1-0)

205lb.

Two Rivals rookies face off in this fight. Both scored wins in QFC before signing up. Both have good boxing and wrestling. Ruiz is the better wrestler while Tokonava is the better boxer. Tokonava has the reach advantage and he'll try to put it to use in this fight.

Joe Alves (1-0) V. Jaius Garcius (1-0)

170lb

Two of Cozad's finest face off in this one. Alves is the better striker while Garcius is better on the ground. Hopefully both these guys make it to the fight without contracting some kind of disease from training at Cozad, Tokyo's filthiest gym.

Ryan Agullana (1-1) V. Yugi Kantana (2-1)

205lb.

Agullana is looking to regain momentum coming off a loss at Rivals X while his opponent is coming off a convincing win at that same event. Both these guys are boxers but Kantana is a bit more diversified. Kantana also has a considerable reach advantage. Both these guys are mid-pack 205 guys and they'll be trying to rise up the rankings in this one.

Rick Rude (3-2) V. John Cena (2-1)

265lb

Rude is coming off a Fight of the Night victory at Rivals X after losing to now champion Chang Sun Son in the outing before that. Cena’s last two fights have won him Fight of the Night honors. Both these guys are good wrestlers and boxers although Rude is better. Cena is more diversified with some MT and BJJ skill. Rude has a nice reach advantage and will be looking to use that to pound on Cena. Cena’s morale is low so he’ll need to be cautious in this fight. These guys are both contenders at the top of their division so a win here will be huge.

Karl Banks (2-0) V. Doc Holliday (2-0)

135lb

Two undefeated fighters face off in this one. Banks is coming in off two TKO victories in QFC while Holliday racked up a win in QFC before defeating Smash Mouth by decision at Rivals TV I. Banks is the better fighter in every discipline except BJJ in which he’s heavily outclassed. Physically these fighters are nearly identical. These are two rising stars in the 135lb division and a win here would be huge for either fighter.

William Dos Santos (4-2) V. Jesse McCoy (4-1)

170lb

Dos Santos is a Rivals veteran appearing in his fourth fight. He won at Rivals IV and XII and lost only to 170lb champion Mike Stouks in a Fight of the Night performance. Dos Santos has excellent boxing and BJJ skills and has consistently put up quality performances. Jesse McCoy has excellent wrestling skills with wins at Rivals V and XI where he won Knock Out of the Night award. All his wins have come by TKO so look for him to come out swinging. These guys are both right at the top of the 170 division so this fight has huge ramifications for the title picture at 170 lbs. Look for Dos Santos to try to use his superior boxing skills and reach advantage to take some of the fire out of McCoy's fists. If he has to hit the mat with McCoy he wants to have done some damage first.

Jimmy Dean (2-0) V. Wiesiek Kolano (3-1)

135lb. Title

This should be a battle of grapplers. Dean is a wrestling machine with neither of his previous two fights lasting past two minutes of the first round. Kolano however is pure BJJ although he does have some boxing skill. He started the tournament with a submission victory then got another by decision. This fight will probably be decided on the ground. Either way it’s going to be an exciting race to the finish.

Rivals XLIII: Thorn vs. Saunier

Organization: Eternal Rivals {150k+}

Event Name: Rivals XLIII: Thorn vs. Saunier

Date: 2012-08-03

City: Tokyo

Arena: Shinjuku Indoor Arena (5,000)

Merchandise Partner: Hell's Kitchen Lab Corp (159.49 $150)

Welcome to Tokyo as Eternal Rivals has packed the seats with fight fans ready to see a star studded line up of fighters. With two titles on the line in two vastly different divisions the stage is set for some devastating competition and a night to remember. So let’s get the party started….

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/14/14w20.jpghttp://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/30/30w26.jpg

145 lbs. 5 x 5 minute Rounds Marduk Thorn (9-1) vs. Matthieu Saunier (7-2)

(145 lbs. Title)

With Thorn having a stellar career and fight pedigree the cage was welcomed with thunderous applauses as Saunier a previous champion in this division entered the cage ready to fight and reclaim a prize he believes is his. Looking outmatched skill wise in paper did not faze Saunier as the first round was a tentative affair all round as neither fighter could complete their game plan fully. Saunier managed to get one takedown but could not capitalize and Thorn managed to tie the fight into his clinching range twice late in the round but again but could not make any real head way.

Round 2 was again a slow push but Saunier showed why he had been champion and getting the fight to the ground was unsuccessful with a couple of submission however not to be outdone as the round was about to close out Thorn landed a shot that was nearly lights out for Saunier as he went to his corner dazed and needing to clear his head.

As the heat was applied Round 3 was again back and forth as Thorn looked to clinch and Saunier escaped over and over, however, again his chin was tested as he was knocked down just over half was in the round and with a cut now showing looked to not only defend off his back but tried a couple of unsuccessful submission.

Going into the championship round Saunier was behind and still pressed for the win but was constantly being stifled by the clinch game of Thorn. Defending from the clinch for most of the round Saunier was still desperate to get the fight on the ground and with the dying second of the clock in round 4 got his wish with a nice takedown but again just could not seal a submission.

With the last round underway Saunier should have been more desperate and though showing some champion resolve to get this far could not break the defence and game plan of the Champion as he was looking to end the fight early connecting and seeing Saunier again hit the mat. But as he was unable to finish Saunier again, he went back to the clinch and his Muay Thai leg kicks seeing the round out and showing his stamina was not in question.

After 5 rounds of action, we go to the scorecards for a decision In favour of your winner, by unanimous decision... Marduk Thorn and still the featherweight CHAMPION as he goes to 10-1.

205 lbs.5 x 5 Minute Rounds Dongmin Oh (7-0) vsNicky Fernandez (5-1)

(205 lbs. Title)

Seeing the undefeated Dongmin Oh enter the cage was a site to be reckoned with as he had an air of entitlement. Fernandez was going to need to be on his game and perform like he has never before to bring about what would surely be an upset to claim the title belt.

With a guts and throwing caution to the win the champ was in trouble early as he was surprised by a Fernadez takedown and obviously also surprising himself that as good as it got with the action just slowing to nothing and the referee standing the fight up.

Oh then just turned it up as he pushed Fernadez to the fence and with some inside body shots and nice elbows worked on cutting Fernadez up into chopped liver. Over and over Fernadez was stuffed on takedowns and Oh showed how good his precision striking was hitting with relative ease and although it was not a one way street as he took some shots himself. Fernadez somehow limped through the round and past the doctors as his face was cut and bleeding from a deep and sickening forehead elbow gash, plus a telling rip under his right eye.

Looking wounded and being watched by the doctors and the bell still resonating In the ears for Round 2 the Champ put Fernadez out of his misery as he landed a highlight reel head kick that saw blood spurt everywhere and the crowd go nuts. But as quickly as the kick landed the doctors rushed in one round to late and quickly called the fight.

Winner by way of TKO (Cut). Dongmin Oh after 0:14 of round 2 and going to 8-0 as the undisputed light heavy weight Champion.

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/17/17b1.jpghttp://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/19/19w4.jpg

135 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Mo Lee (9-2-1) vs. Hindu Kush (8-1)

Seemingly playing into Mo Lee’s hands Kush gained an early clinch but was then punished for his hard work as Mo Lee dominated the inside fighting and was destroying Kush with Elbows and punches and bleed covering Kush’s face and upper body from the telling blows.

But again with slow acting doctors Kush was allowed to see the round out with cuts they would have been more comfortable in a butchers shop.

However his team went to work to stem the bleeding and obviously not clearing his head enough went into Round 2 and yes straight into a clinch again. With his defence just not enough against the Mo Lee clinch game, shots again found their target and blood started to flow freely again. Before any real action was able to come to fruition the doctors again spoiled the fighting by stopping the fight a round too late.

Winner by way of TKO (Cut). Mo Lee after 1:10 of round 2 and going to 10-2-1

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/36/36b1.jpghttp://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/6/6w18.jpg

185 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Roger Xu (5-2) vs. Keenan Kavanagh (6-1)

Round 1 saw Xu catch Kavanagh early and again has blood spilling out as yet another cut was produced in the cage. Xu then looked to try everything to take advantage of his early wind fall and worked the fight from every angle with kicks, punches, elbows, knees but Kavanagh just kept on taking the hits and late in the ground breaking for distance from a clinch got his own back as he also returned the favour with a cut to Xu.

Round 2 saw a more conservative game plan that kept the fight close and utilised the clinch from Kavangh. However as the round reached the midway point Xu broke free and as Kavangh tried to again tie the fight up Xu responded with a flying knee rocking Kavanagh and as Xu swarmed him ending his night with a perfectly timed head kick.

Winner by way of KO (Head Kick) after 2:47 of round 2 and going to 6-2

205 lbs. 5 x 5 Minute Rounds Siegfried Freak (7-2) vs. Tony Montana (3-2)

Like rock ‘em’ Sock ‘em’ Robots these guys came out punching with Freak being cut in under a minute but returning with cuts to Montana after a minute thirty and again in just under three the latter of which was followed up by a continued combination of unanswered punches as the referee jumped in before Montana was looking for a good plastic surgeon.

Winner by way of KO (Punch) Siegfried Freak after 3:10 of round 1and going to 8-2.

155 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Connor Speed (7-4) vs. Kenichi Atoshi (4-0)

A one sided affair saw Speed use his name to good use as he was just that, wasting no time he swarmed Atoshi who was overwhelmed by punches to the head and body as he was quickly dispatched needing to be saved by the referee.

Winner by way of TKO (Strikes) Connor Speed after 2:57 of round 1 and goes to 5-0.

145 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Volga Overstreet (4-2) vs. Mauro Breda (4-1)

A fight that saw unbelievable defence from Overstreet as well as some nice counter striking but all in all every round saw Breda get more and more frustrated as he managed to survive the rounds showing heart but just could not land a strike against Overstreet. Going 3 rounds and yet missing all 36 strikes and only obtaining 1 takedown from 9 really puts a damper on your night and an obvious inability to register on the judges’ score cards.

Winner, by unanimous decision... Volga Overstreet as he goes to 5-2.

265 lbs.3 x 5 Minute Rounds Rousimar Palhares Skywalker (3-0) vs. Muddy In The Mirrors (5-2)

Showing why he has stated his career without a loss Skywalker pushed for the immediate takedown and once it was sealed did not let Mirrors into the fight as he continued with ground control and with a dominant use of ground and pound as the referee finally had seen enough

Winner by way of TKO (Strikes) Rousimar Palhares Skywalkernough. after 2:59 of round 1and going to 4-0/

170 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Tom Bob (2-1) vs. Jason Metro (6-5)

Get hit and cut early Bob looked to be outmatched and definitely outgunned as Metro dominated round one and scored at will and round 2 started no better as Bob was punished by an early punch and then as it looked like a long and painful night was under way; Bob grabbed a opportune takedown into full mount and with a couple of heavy strikes Metro was covering up but just not defending intelligently as the referee warned him and then called the fight.

Winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tom Bob after 1:28 of round 2 and goes to 3-1.

265 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Randy Couture (1-1) vs. Thor Gundersson (6-7)

Pushing the action from the sound of the bell Gundersson was back pedalling all night as Couture working relentlessly on his takedowns and once on the ground his ground and pound and submission. Working at full pace and never wavering Couture stuffed any counter from Gundersson as his hard work paid off in the dying seconds of the third round as his 10 Submission was sealed and a well-deserved win notched up.

Winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle) Randy Couture after 4:56 of round 3 as he goes to 2-1.

WOW what an unbelievable event Rivals has coming up on 10 August 2012. With two title fights and so heavy hitting contenders in their division the seats will be packed with premium pricing expected for this talented line up.

Rivals XLIV: Blaze vs. Manlucas ***** Fight Pre-view*****

135 lbs. 5 x 5 Minute Rounds Ricardo Ramirez (9-2) v Lee Kawasaki (6-0) 135 lbs. title

We will see the undefeated ground demon try and keep his run alive as he contends against the All-round champion Ramirez who totally outclasses the challenger in all aspects of the stand-up and with one loss of his 2 losses coming from a submission the chance is slim but Kawasaki is gambling on getting the game to the ground and brining about another submission loss. However the odds are in favour of the Champion winning by KO in the first.

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/25/25w1.jpghttp://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/37/37a2.jpg

155 lbs. 5 x 5 Minute Rounds Tyson Blaze (10-3) v Ramon Manlucas (7-1) 155 lbs. title

Being confident in his abilities the Champion is secure in the knowledge he outclasses the Challenger heavily in Muay Thai and Wrestling and can match him in Boxing and BJJ, so how could he possibly lose? The Challenger is looking for the win with his BJJ 4 Submission victories and the glaring flaw in the Champion as he has lost all three of his defeats on the ground and through the Submission. It’s a close call and should be a good battle, but with a tank of energy the odds are still in favour of the Champ keeping his belt but being pushed into the Championship rounds for the first time.

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/40/40w40.jpghttp://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/41/41a4.jpg

265 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Piotr Nowak (6-2) v Mark Coleman (10-5)

Coming of two losses Coleman is desperate for a win as this could mean an end to a stellar career as he is at a turning point and taking on the youthful fighter Nowak who on a four win streak brings a very even fight to the cage as his key to victory would be on the ground and will be pushing to get it there.

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/25/25w22.jpghttp://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/29/29w15.jpg

205 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Agung Kang (7-1) v Bas Rutten (7-4)

With a long list of submission victories and being met by the fierce and over powering stand up of Rutten, Kang knows where he needs to get the fight to survive. However he would have to be thinking how he can win when Rutten has never been submitted in his 11 fights.

Undercard:

185 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Noah Bennet (8-1) v Ben Schilling (5-4)

Schilling may be another stepping stone in the career of Bennet as he is outclassed dramatically in 3 of the 4 disciplines. But as each fighter is coming of a loss each are desperate for a win and with desperation comes the chance of the lucky shot and the chance to make you a highlight reel moment. The odds are stacked in favour of Bennet and it’s hard to see him losing…..what will happen?

155 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Daigo Asai (5-2) v Yoshihiro Imanari (6-1)

As Imanari comes off his only career loss he is looking to steady the ship and In doing so is taking on a competent opponent in Asai: but will be looking to get the fight to the ground with his dominant wrestling and using his BJJ Black Belt to submit his underclasses opponent who has suffered 2 submission defeats in his career.

185 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Danny Brown (5-0) v Jett Padilla (6-9)

Padilla may have triple the fight experience but to say he is in trouble of being Knocked out early is an understatement. Brown has shown he is a force to be reckoned with never making it out of the first round and winning all his fights by way of knock out. With Exceptional skills across the board it would appear this fight will pose no trouble to keeping his undefeated run alive.

135 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Napoleon Moreau (3-4) v Cesar Viapondo (4-2)

With both men coming off loses and being so equally matched across the board it really just comes down to who has the better game plan and who can execute it on the night. Flip a coin on this one as it could either way.

145 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Yancy Norse (2-0) v LaMarcin Odricz (0-0)

In his debut fight Odricz looks to take on the dynamite hands of Norse as it become a Boxing vs Muay Thai showdown. As the fight is unlikely to hit the ground this should be a stand up war with bragging rights of Punches vs. Kicks or will it be Distance vs. Clinch?

205 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Kurt Orbiso (3-2) v Ixa Lixa (0-1)

With the last fight on the card being a war of desperation, this is a win at all cost affair. With Orbisco and Lixa coming off losses Orbisco is out gunned heavily in Muay Thai and Wrestling and will need to dig deep and swing for the fences if he hopes to steady his career.

Rivals XLIV: Blaze vs. Manlucas *** post fight review ***

Welcome to Tokyo as Hell’s Kitchen Lab Corp in conjunction with Eternal Rivals is proud to bring you the Action from Shinjuku Indoor Arena. We have an insane line-up featuring two title fights and a very talented support cast for a night of fighting action.

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/35/35w18.jpghttp://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/27/27b29.jpg

135 lbs. 5 x 5 Minute Rounds Ricardo Ramirez (9-2) v Lee Kawasaki (6-0) 135 lbs. title

Well it was touted as a first round win by KO and not going fully to the way of the god it was a very quick and decisive win none the less. With Kawasaki taking the Fight pre-view to heart he came out firing and with immediate success had the fight on the ground and with determination missed his case with 4 failed submission and with the fight now back to its feet Ramirez worked his stand up and blasted his opponent while now stuffing all further takedown attempts.

With his range now zeroed in Ramirez cut Kawasaki half way through round one and with a right hand dropped him, mounted him just as quickly and then with some unanswered ground and pound the referee jumped in.

Winner by way of TKO (Punches) Ricardo Ramirez after 3:12 of round 1and going to 10-2 and still the bantamweight Champion.

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/25/25w1.jpghttp://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/37/37a2.jpg

155 lbs. 5 x 5 Minute Rounds Tyson Blaze (10-3) v Ramon Manlucas (7-1) 155 lbs. title

Blaze showed why he is the Champion with a failed clinch game, he resorted to trading some stand up and while eating some shots showed he has far more power than he has been given credit for as he unleashed a devastating combination half way through round one that had the challenger floored and simply giving up the ghost as he succumbed to the blows without fighting for a save.

Winner by way of TKO (Strikes) Tyson Blaze after 2:37 of round 1 and still the lightweight champion as he goes to 11-3.

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/40/40w40.jpghttp://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/41/41a4.jpg

265 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Piotr Nowak (6-2) v Mark Coleman (10-5)

Nowak did everything he could trying to get the fight to the ground in his favour but with 12 unsuccessful attempts against 2 from 2 in favour of Coleman his inexperience or maybe just nerves got the better of him as Coleman could do no wrong. Landing with success in the stand up, in the clinch and getting his takedowns to work his ground and pound Coleman was impressive as he could not finish the fight but was flawless in all 3 rounds.

Winner, by unanimous decision... Mark Coleman and going to 11-5.

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/25/25w22.jpghttp://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/29/29w15.jpg

205 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Agung Kang (7-1) v Bas Rutten (7-4)

This fight had the crowd out of their seats and with an underrated fight rating score it shows that sometimes things just don’t measure up. The fight had it all as both men went at it as Kang wanted it on the ground and tried everything with limited success but just could not capitalize when it mattered in the ground as he worked the ground and pound and submission…yet Rutten showed he just won’t be submitted and also was so elusive against the ground strikes. While in return Rutten worked the clinch attack and was also busy on the ground trying his own submissions without success.

In the end it was a contentious victory but the winner, by split decision was Bas Rutten as he goes to 8-4 and handed Kang only his second loss.

Undercard:

185 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Noah Bennet (8-1) v Ben Schilling (5-4)

It may have been hard to ever see Bennet losing but Schilling showed he can be ever so hard to finish. With Schilling having a horrible night in failing all his attacks and takedowns he was left to show he had a head of stone and a heart to match as he was thumped for 3 rounds but still standing although barely with a bleeding and battered body he knew the result but still showed he was a warrior.

Winner, by unanimous decision... Noah Bennet and going to 9-1.

155 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Daigo Asai (5-2) v Yoshihiro Imanari (6-1)

With everything going to plan for Imanari he got a quick takedown, but instead of showcasing his BJJ Black belt he went for a ground and pound onslaught which quickly had Asai out cold yes KO’d and not a TKO as the decision would say.

We have a winner by way of TKO*** should be KO **** (Strikes). Yoshihiro Imanari after 2:31 of round 1and going to 7-1

185 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Danny Brown (5-0) v Jett Padilla (6-9)

With no trouble hitting his target Brown continued his unbeaten run with a resounding and flawless demolition of Padilla stuffing two takedowns and hitting all with 100% accuracy.

Winner by way of KO (Punch) Danny Brown after 1:41 of round 1 and going to 6-0/

135 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Napoleon Moreau (3-4) v Cesar Viapondo (4-2)

As Viapondo tried to hit his target and was having limited success Moreau tried with desperation to get the fight on the ground and keep it there. Over and over he avoided the strikes and worked the takedown and submissions.

With his energy not wavering his tactic finally paid off we after his 10th attempt he gained the submission success he was after.

Winner by way of Submission (Kimura) Napoleon Moreau after 2:59 of round 2 and going to 4-4.

145 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Yancy Norse (2-0) v LaMarcin Odricz (0-0)

Norse sent a message to the debutant Odricz and it was “Welcome to an Ass Whooping” Odricz came out hard with some youthful enthusiasm but was met with an uppercut which sent him to the mat and after being waved up was his again tearing open a cut and as he bobbed and weaved Norse then played whack a mole as he unleashed a right hook then a left hook and with a highlight reel finish a spinning back fist that has Odricz out cold.

Winner by way of KO (Strikes) Yancy Norse after 0:26 of round 1 and going to 3-0.

205 lbs. 3 x 5 Minute Rounds Kurt Orbiso (3-2) v Ixa Lixa (0-1)

With an overwhelming fight to finish the night Lixa shit down his opponent in every round with great takedowns and a continued pressure from his ground and pound. Orbisco survived the distance but was just simply outclassed and helpless against the ground pressure.

Winner, by unanimous decision... Ixa Lixa and he goes to 1-1.

Rivals XLV: Rude vs. Speed ***PREVIEW***

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1324432213Rivals%20Logo2.jpghttp://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1296131053HK-Logo-Devil-Lab-Corp.jpg

Shinjuku Outdoor Arena, TOKYO

August 17, 2012

Event sponsored by HELL’S KITCHEN LAB CORP

Welcome to the Prefight Show of RIVALS XLV: RUDE VS SPEED which will be held at SHINJUKU OUTDOOR ARENA, TOKYO on 17TH OF AUGUST, 2012. This event is proudly sponsored by our merchandise partner HELL’S KITCHEN LAB CORP. Fights are three 5-min rounds for non-title fights meanwhile we have two Title bouts which will be a five 5-min rounds in a 10 points must scoring system.m

Undercard Fights:

On to our fights, starting the night will be a bout between VASILIS MALIOUFAS (0-2) VS LESBEK ALIEV (1-1)

Our first bout of the night can go either way, Malioufas is looking to get his first W and he may be able to get it if he can use his Muay Thai skills better this time around, meanwhile Aliev needs to be as relentless as he was on his previous fight where he got a win via Submission. This is a close one but I would give this to Malioufas via decision.

Next is JAMES BLACKHILL (1-1) VS JOHANNES VERNE (1-1)

Both fighters are coming of a loss on their previous fight and are looking to buy a win to have a good start on their young career. Both fighters are good wrestlers but Blackhill has a slight advantage, if he could avoid being clinched where Verne has the distinct advantage he may be able to dominate this bout. This will be a close call, but I will give this one to Verne via T/KO on second round.

Up next, JUN ARAI (0-2) VS ETHAN SACKETT (2-0)

Sackett is looking to go on a three-fight winning streak while Arai will try to avoid being down 0-3. Sackett will have the advantage on the ground and must utilize his dangerous GnP as well as his Muay Thai expertise. Arai needs to upgrade his game if he wants to end Sackett’s W-streak, which will be hard but in MMA miracles can happen. But I will give this one to Sackett via first round T/KO.

Our fourth bout of the night is between Knockout Artist JEROEN BLAUWOOG (2-0) VS Freestylist OUTKAST JOBBER (1-1)

This is a fight to watch if you’re a Knockout fan, Blauwoog is a budding knockout artist capping his 2 wins via first round KO a good start in his young career and if he does it big again in this one, he surely will be a must-watch fighter. Meanwhile Jobber will be up against a fighter looking or a finish early on if he will be able to survive Blauwoog’s early onslaught and take this fight on the ground and keep it there all throughout the fight, Jobber can get the W. With that said, I would still give this fight to Blauwoog in another first round T/KO.

Next fight is BONG KI DUK (4-1) VS GREAT PETE (4-4)

Looking to take his 4-fight winning streak in Eternal Rivals is debuting Korean, Bong Ki Duk, who will be using his stand-up expertise to go against Great Pete who has a good wrestling background. Pete via Decision.

Up next, MOHAMED ZULU (3-2) VS HARRISON BEST (4-3)

This is going to be a good stand-up war between Zulu and Best. Zulu will be looking to start another winning streak and end his two-fight losing streak while Best wants to avoid having an equal win-loss record and to move up the 205 lb division ladder. Best has the advantage on clinch and must use it in order to dominate this bout. While Zulu needs to keep the fight in distance to be able to throw his own bombs to get the win. This will be close but I give it to Best via T/KO in second round.

Up next is BUZZ LIGHTBEAR (5-1) VS IZAAK WATERS (4-2)

Buzz Lightbear is a sub-specialist who takes his prey on the ground and constantly tries to make his opponents tap or nap, while Waters, an all around fighter who prefers stand-up which may be good or bad for him on this bout. Waters will surely have a hard time avoiding takedown attempts from Lightbear but he needs to keep this one standing to avoid the tap or nap. This one I will give to Lightbear via first round Tap or Nap.

The next fight will be a good crowd warmer before the two Title Fights, the fight is between MO LEE (9-1) VS PRINCE FUNKYAMA (6-1)

Both fighters’ lone loss came only from the 135 lb Champion Ricardo Ramirez, and both would want to add another one to each other. Mo Lee is looking for a shot at the 135 lb title while Funkyama wants to get another shot at it. Funkyama is a knockout artist who’s lone loss came in his last fight against the Champion Ramirez is looking to add Mo Lee in his knocked out victims which is now at six, while Lee, a seasoned fighter, with only three but nonetheless brutal T/KO’s wants to take his 3-fight winning streak on the line to become a worthy title contender, his last fight against the former Champion Hindu Kush proved that he’s ready for a shot at the Title. This is going to be a standup war, Lee will need to calm Funkyama’s fist but with Funkyama’s killing instinct probably kicking in early on in the round he can possibly win this one via first round T/KO.

CO-MAIN EVENT for the 170 LB TITLE

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/24/24w20.jpghttp://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/41/41w32.jpg

And for our CO-MAIN EVENT, fighting for the 170 LB Title, WILLIAM DOS SANTOS (9-2) VS XAVIER STYLES (8-2-1)

This is a title rematch where Styles is looking to regain his title back after losing it via decision against Dos Santos. Last fight, both fighters stand and bang at each other which earned them the Fight of the Night award, this time Styles needs to use his BJJ Black Belt in his advantage just like how he did in his last two wins. Meanwhile Dos Santos, the Champion, will surely come prepared on anything that his challenger will give him and will look to defend his crown for the third straight time. This will be another FIGHT OF THE NIGHT contender which can go either way as the two are very evenly matched on their strengths. But I will give this one to the Champion via Decision.

MAIN EVENT for the 265 LB TITLE

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/43/43w18.jpghttp://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/10/10w7.jpg

For our MAIN EVENT for the 265 LB Title between the CHAMPION, RICK RUDE (8-3) VS NATHAN SPEED (8-1)

For our Main Event, both guys are evenly matched on their feet, although Speed, the contender who is also a former champion, has a huge advantage on Muay Thai as well as on Jiu Jitsu. Speed, a Former Champ looking for his second belt, is only on his second stint in Eternal Rivals but has proven himself on the octagon. Currently on a six-fight winning streak, his only loss came off via decision in his young career. If Speed tries to take this fight on the ground, which he rarely does, the Champ might be having some serious problems who is only a BJJ white belter. But the Champ will be making use of his Exceptional Wrestling to avoid problems on the ground. Look for Rude to stand and bang against the Contender where he shines and will be looking forward for his first ever title defense and his 8th T/KO Win. This one will surely end in a very exciting exchange of bombs, and I will be giving this one to the Contender Nathan Speed via T/KO.

And that’s it for the pre-Fight Show of Rivals XLV: Rude VS Speed. Look forward for our Post-Fight Show where we will be having a Special Guest who will help me breakdown the fights, Rivals’ own Former 205 lb Champion Siegfried Freak who will be taking another shot at it on the 1st of September against Dongmin Oh. For ETERNAL RIVALS, where deadly warriors gather to test their might and walk away with ultimate title and gladiator's pride, this has been Blitz Kriegg saying “FIGHT for the right TO STAY ALIVE.”

RIVALS XLV: RUDE VS SPEED POSTFIGHT SHOW

By BLITZ KRIEGG

EVENT INTRODUCTION: (Voice Over)

ETERNAL RIVALS – where deadly Warriors gather to test their might and walk away with the Ultimate Title and Gladiator’s Pride – welcomes you in the sold out Shinjuku Indoor Arena, Tokyo with a an Event Rating of 222.50 this is RIVALS XLV: Rude VS Speed Post Fight Show.

(Intro Song . . . just put your imagination at work)

BLITZ: Welcome to the RIVALS XLV: Rude VS Speed Post Fight Show, I am Blitz Kriegg, and I am honored to be given a chance to cover this awesome night! But I am not alone because with me is my very own fighter, who begged me to tag him on this show, Rivals’ own SIEGFRIED “The Bully” FREAK!

SIEGFRIED: Oh c’mon I didn’t “beg” you were the one who BEGGED me to accompany you because you suck as a commentator. Well anyway, hello Rivals fans and managers I am Siegfried Freak putting this show on track where Blitz sucks at. I watched the show and it was so great I wanted to break into the cage myself!

BLITZ: Excuse me, it’s not just you, it’s US . . . I paid your ticket remember? You thrifty son-of-a-bully. But yeah, you were right. This event showcased a lot of budding Eternal Rival talents and TWO NEW CHAMPIONS!

SIEGFRIED: You were right Blitz. My personal favorite was the 5 Second TKO win of. . .

BLITZ: Hold it! Hold it! We’re still not there yet Freak! Let’s get on with the show. . .

SIEGFRIED: (Aww man you really suck. . .)

Aliev (2-1) SUBMITTED Malioufas (1-2) in 2:56 of the 1st Round

(SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION)

BLITZ: On to our first fight of the night, Aliev came aggressive off the bat and had successfully mounted Malioufas off an early takedown, Malioufas made a mistake by giving his back to his opponent while trying to escape the mount.

SIEGFRIED: Right on cue, I thought Aliev did a great job and had just enough luck being on his opponent’s back, and with that I thought he will go all excited choking his opponent but Aliev proved to be a wise kid softening his opponent first before putting on the kill.

BLITZ: Aliev controlled the early goings throwing punches where he managed to cut Malioufas around the one-minute mark. Aliev distracted Malioufas, who is flatted on the ground, by scoring with more punches.

SIEGFRIED: There we go. He must continue doing that but of course he needs to improve his game even more if he wants to be a relevant warrior in Eternal Rivals.

BLITZ: And finally, he finished the fight smoothly by going for the Rear Naked Choke improving his record to 2 wins, both via submission, against one loss.

SIEGFRIED: Aliev is on a little submission streak now, but I guess he needs to keep upgrading his game continously knowing that his opponents will be ready for his takedowns and ground game on his upcoming fights.

BLITZ: Look who’s talking, how’s your training young man?

SIEGFRIED: Well . . . On to our next fight!

Blackhill (2-1) KO’ed Verne (1-2) in 3:43 of the 1st Round

(SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION)

BLITZ: The fight started off with a grueling stand-up bout where Verne supposedly had the advantage having the better Muay Thai, but Blackhill had something better on his pocket as he connected better with his punches making Verne suffer a cut early on.

SIEGFRIED: Blackhill probably surprised Verne more than he surprised me. I thought Verne will completely own the stand up, but Blackhill proved me wrong!

BLITZ: Yeah, I was surprised too. Well, can’t do nothing about it, a fighter must be ready whatever happens on the octagon. He should be able to adjust depending on any given situation. Anyway, let’s get on with the show. After a minute Verne finally caught Blackhill in clinch, and it’s his show now – supposedly. But Blackhill kept his composure in the clinch and was able to go mano – a – mano against Verne who had enough of the stalemate and broke hold on Blackhill.

SIEGFRIED: Breaking the clinch was a bad idea for Verne where he found himself in deep trouble firing in distance against Blackhill. Blackhill dropped Verne with a hook to the temple but surprisingly he didn’t go for the GnP right away! He’s probably looking to knock the guy out which he actually did in a flashy manner!!

BLITZ: Freak! Let’s show them the highlights first!! On their feet again, Blackhill dominated the exchanges and another shot opened up Verne’s cut even more . . .

SIEGFRIED: Blackhill’s huge uppercut tells me that this fight is over, then he connected with another straight to knock Verne down following it up with a flurry of punches and it’s over!!!! Blackhill improved his record 2-1 and looks promising with his mixed arsenals.

Sackett (3-0) WON VIA TKO over Arai (0-3) in 00:37 of the 3rd Round

(SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION)

SIGFRIED: This fight could have been better. Sackett could have finished this fight early on. But well, Arai tried to go for the clinch early against Sackett who successfully defended every attempt, and even better, Sackett was able to successfully take Arai down. Sackett missed a number of shots but connected a fair amount of meaningful shots early on the First Round while Arai contained the ground game by using his BJJ skills putting further pressure to the wrestler, Sackett.

BLITZ: Don’t put pressure on Sackett. So, the fight goes on, Sackett missing more shots and Arai showing good ground defense, now Sackett had a hard time right there, he must really be pressured now. Arai finally landed a sweep but Sackett quickly reversed it right away and Arai sweeped again. Arai showed good ground game and ended up on top at the end of the first round.

SIEGFRIED: Their rolling in the canvas like it was green grass!!! On to the Second Round, Sackett started the Second round by taking Arai down and quickly moving into mount, he connected way better on his GnP, finally!! Arai’s fight plan was still the same as the First round as he looked comfortable on the ground throwing submission attempts. The fight went on with Sackett on top raining shots and Arai on his back working away with his BJJ. The Second Round ended the way the First did with Arai on top of Sackett, without the rolling that is.

BLITZ: Third and Final Round!!! Arai tried to clinch allowing Sackett to take him down into Full Mount!

SIEGFRIED: Sackett’s killer’s instinct has kicked in now as he came firing away with his GnP. Sackett landed a damaging elbow that rocked Arai and it’s over!!! Sackett fired way too many unanswered strikes allowing the ref to step in and end the fight. Sackett is now on a 3-fight winning streak!!

KNOCKOUT ARTIST Blauwoog (3-0) TKO’ed Jobber (1-2) in just FIVE SECONDS!!!

(SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION)

SIEGFRIED: Now we’re talkin’!!!!! Blauwoog wins again with another magnificent ONE-PUNCH knockout. It is that quick!! He is on a 3-fight KNOCKOUT streak, which reminds me of someone who also did the same early in his career.

BLITZ: Oh C’mon! He’s older than you, and you must follow his footstep instead of being too front with your achievements!!

SIEGFRIED: I ain’t boasting!! And I ain’t comparing him to me, the guy already had two 5 SECOND KNOCKOUT WIN under his belt. While I, well, I only have 7 KNOCKOUTS on my belt and 4 successful Title bouts! There’s no comparing that!!!??

BLITZ: . . . and you lost twice to Dongmin Oh. Don’t forget that.

SIEGFREID: Don’t say bad words, man. I know and you know that we’re both disappointed knowing that the judges and that blind doctor gave away the win to Oh in our last two fights against him, but don’t worry come 1st of September we’ll get the win via KO . . . for the 8th TIME and 9th T/KO overall!!!

BLITZ: Okay fine, keep your voice down, we’re here to do a Post Fight Show not to promote your fight against Dongmin Oh. On to our next fight.

Pete (5-4) Won via DECISION over Ki Duk (4-2)

(HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION)

BLITZ: The fighters started the bout looking for positions, Pete on the Ground and Ki Duk on the Clinch.

SIEGFRIED: Battling for position gives a fighter advantage depending on what his opponents’ skills are. And . . .

BLITZ: Woah! Now, you’re talking about positioning? What positions do you prefer? Do you have any?

SIEGFRIED: Well, hmm let’s see . . . (I always look for a knockout as early as possible, well . . .) well, I don’t know, but most of the time, I position my hand up in the air right after I put my opponent motionless on the ground.

BLITZ: Oh c’mon stop fooling around, you know nothing about battling for positions. On to the fight! After a series and exchanges of tries, Pete finally landed a takedown via counter after a failed Clinch attempt from Ki Duk.

SIEGFRIED: It took them one hell of a minute!

BLITZ: Certainly, Ki Duk wants to be on his feet but he’s getting none of it as Pete is controlling well on top.

SIEGFRIED: And after hitting the mat, Pete decided to stand back up and Ki Duk gave him a one-two for his troubles. Silly Pete! Hahahaha

BLITZ: Stop that Freak! But hell yeah that stuff was funny Pete. So we go on, a series of failed clinch and takedowns again, until Ki Duk decided to stop and throw bombs, but it made him open for takedowns where Pete ended up gaining side control. After successfully landing shots better this time Pete unexpectedly stood up, and we go back to a series of clinch and takedowns until the end of the fight which made Pete lose a lot of air.

SIEGFRIED: The second round started the same as the previous one, and I started to get bored, but this time Ki Duk was being more creative with his skills mixing things out to distract Pete, I thought I won’t see something new, like it was just a replay of the first round.

BLITZ: Pete landed two takedowns which cost a lot out of Ki Duk even if he was scoring with strikes from the distance. Pete just showed the judges how he dominated the ground.

SIEGFRIED: Even with a lot of misses, Pete still won the round again.

BLITZ: For the third and final round!!!! Guess what??

SIEGFRIED: Yeah, it’s the same stuff all over again, clinch and takedown attempts from Ki Duk and Pete.

BLITZ: Ki Duk is landing a fair amount of strikes in distance but Pete once again had taken this fight on the ground. Ki Duk had managed to sweep for the first time and had made the referee stand them back up again only to see himself being taken down AGAIN by Pete. Pete ONCE AGAIN stood up only to try and take Ki Duk down AGAIN, and was tactically fighting for the decision.

SIEGFRIED: After a long and grueling match for us, literally, finally it’s over and Pete had won via judges’ scorecards. Ki Duk seemed to be the more accurate fighter in this bout, but Pete just showed complete control of the fight. Ki Duk had a forgettable Eternal Rivals debut, but I’m pretty sure he’ll be back for good. His 4-fight winning streak was stopped by Pete. Let’s go now to the next card.

Best (5-3) Won via DECISION over Zulu (3-3)

(LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION)

BLITZ: Just as expected from both of them, Best and Zulu came out aggressive on their feet with Best gaining the upper hand early on with his Muay Thai expertise. Zulu kept up with Best with his boxing skills but Best controlled the first round by mixing up strikes from distance and on the clinch.

SIEGFRIED: Talk about stand-up war, those two showed what a war really is.

BLITZ: The two warriors started the Second Round with the same intensity as they had ended the First Round.

SIEGFRIED: We are seeing a classic stand-up exchange between two warriors who are measuring themselves up looking to go up the Light Heavyweight Division Ladder to fight with the best guys on our division, guys like me.

BLITZ: Oh shut up Freak! Why don’t you beat Dongmin Oh first before boasting yourself up! LOL! Anyway, on to our fight at hand, Best had kept it and started getting the better out of Zulu on the second round. Exchange after powerful exchange described that round.

The third and final round started with Best doing a good job connecting and blocking strikes from Zulu.

SIEGFRIED: He had just dominated Zulu up to this final round, and if Zulu doesn’t manage to score a knockout there’s no way he can win this one the way this fight is going. Best controlled more of the round with his clinch. Zulu was seeing this fight like a long trip to that L on his record. He’s getting more tired while trying to score a very slim chance of a Knockdown. And with Best controlling the whole fight successfully, he had started to grow tired and as the round comes to an end, Best finally landed ONE BRUTAL SHOT!!! Zulu will be having a good lump on his (SENSORED), well if you checked the fight you might know where Best’s last shot landed. Best won the whole Three Rounds.

BLITZ: And gave a Blow that did the Job down Zulu’s pants and he moves up 5-3.

SIEGFRIED: Zulu is now 3-3 and is still at the hospital with a bummed (SENSORED), poor guy.

Waters (5-2) Won via TKO on Lightbear (5-2) in 00:36 of Round Two

(MIDDLEWEIGHT DIVISION)

BLITZ: Lightbear came out looking to go on the ground early on but Waters kept the fight standing while scoring with punches, one of it cutting Lightbear early on.

SIEGFRIED: On the clinch, Izaak Waters dominated the bout but Lightbear kept his composure hoping to land a pull or a takedown from there – but he’s having none of it. Waters kept on pummeling Lightbear strike after strike while dominating the fight on the clinch all throughout the First round.

BLITZ: On the second round comes the end of the bout, after stuffing two takedowns, Waters sent Lightbear reeling.

SIEGFRIED: And with that sight Izaak Waters pushed the pace with his killing instinct and the referee stepped in and saved Lightbear from serious damage. Izaak Waters won via TKO and is now 5-2.

Funkyama (7-1) Won via DECISION over Lee (9-2)

(BANTAMWEIGHT DIVISION)

SIEGFRIED: This was another Stand-up War between two Muay Thai artist, Prince Funkyama and Mo Lee. Both fighters showed their athleticism early on with Funkyama dominating the strikes at distance. After the second-minute mark, Lee decided to stall in clinch to catch a breather, wise move. When Prince Funkyama had successfully got out of the clinch he made Mo Lee pay, hard shots after hard shots, Funkyama won the round but Lee showed a good sign by landing a hard uppercut before the round ended.

BLITZ: Lee regained his confidence by the end of the First Round and has been more aggressive at the start of the Second Round.

SIEGFREID: Mo Lee controlled the very first minute of the round but Funkyama quickly recovered from the shock that Lee gave him in the last couple of minute. Funkyama connected with the more significant strikes of the Round after that first minute where Lee dominated.

BLITZ: Third and final round, the fighter started off in clinch, both testing their Muay Thai expertise. Lee had once again got the better on the get-go scoring meaningful shots from the clinch.

SIEGFRIED: Funkyama had much from it, he was struggling to break the clinch and after the 2-minute mark he was finally successful. Keeping the fight at distance allowed Funkyama to show his class as he punished Lee’s head a couple of times. Lee started to look for the knockout knowing that he is way behind the scores over the two rounds but up until the last minute Funkyama had the better hand controlling the fight.

BLITZ: Funkyama won all three rounds and is now 7-1. He is now second to Bantamweight Champion Ricardo Martinez, and a rematch clause between them seems to be a good Main Event in the future.

SIEGFRIED: Fight stats showed how Lee dominated the fight on the clinch, while Funkyama successfully defended almost all of Mo Lee’s strikes from distance while landing a high percentage of his own shots. Moving on, we are now at the CO-MAIN EVENT of this EVENT!!

Styles (9-2-1) REGAINED HIS TITLE by submitting Dos Santos (9-3) in 3:33 of Round Two (WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP)

BLITZ: The bout started with Styles successfully defending the starting assault of the current Champion, Dos Santos, along with three successful counters off the misses of Dos Santos. But the Champ didn’t let the fight go down on Styles way. He hit his Challenger with a couple of ringing headshots!

SIEGFRIED: A good stand-up war displayed by two equally agile warriors with Dos Santos connecting with the damaging blows to the body early on the First Round. Round One goes the way of the Champion William Dos Santos, but Xavier Styles is keeping the fight close despite the hard body shots that he had taken. Definitely, Styles will be more cautious in the next round or else he will be worn down.

BLITZ: Second Round started with another hard body shot from Dos Santos, but Styles had enough of it, he also looked to put the air out of Dos Santos’ body with his own version of body shots.

SIEGFRIED: Furious, just furious exchange from top-class warriors are displayed in this round. Styles tried to mix it up with takedowns but Dos Santos successfully stuffed a couple of them. Relentless on takedowns, Styles had managed to land one via counter and ended up in a good Side Control. Styles caught Dos Santos trapped on the ground as Dos Santos struggled to avoid being controlled on the ground, but Styles, a BJJ Black belter, didn’t think twice and made Dos Santos TAP via KIMURA!!!! That’s three straight Submission victories for Xavier Styles!!! He is now 9-2-1 and THE NEW WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION OF ETERNAL RIVALS!!! Hoooraaaahhh!!!!

BLITZ: And for our MAIN EVENT OF THE NIGHT . . .

Speed WON VIA TKO in 01:56 of Second Round over Rude

(HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP)

Both fighters are proven Champion, the Challenger looking for his second HEAVYWEIGHT Belt on just his second stint as an Eternal Rival Warrior while the Champion, looking forward on a successful Title Defense. Last time when he defended his Title he lost it to Milo Talon, but now things are different and he is looking to win his first ever Title Defense.

SIEGFRIED: And it’s on!!!!!

BLITZ: The challenger threw the first combination which was successfully dodged by the Champion and after a series of missed exchanges Rick Rude drew first shot on Speed who connected with a jab to the body but Nathan Speed retaliated with his own hard body shot.

SIEGFRIED: The fight goes on and we had another thrilling Stand-up War on display between two able Champions!! Rick Rude was constantly looking to get a knockdown early on, targeting Speed’s head while Speed mixed things up by hitting body shots from time to time, but as the round is nearing end, Rude went to the body and it’s an even round for me for the first.

Round two started on a high level with both fighters throwing bombs without care at all! Both of them are just looking to knock each other out from the looks of things.

BLITZ: And after a series of exchange of damaging blows, Nathan Speed connected with a rocking solid jab that made Rick Rude dizzy and without further ado Nathan Speed cracks Rick Rude with a sick counter punch followed by a barrage of strikes.

SIEGFRIED: The Champion showing a lot of heart unconsciously tackled the referee who had already stopped the fight due to series of unanswered strikes!!

And the fight is done!!! Nathan Speed is the new HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION of ETERNAL RIVAL!!! I feel sorry for Rude who again lost in his Title defense.

BLITZ: Me too, I’m pretty sure he will get another shot at it again. I can still remember what he did to Milo Talon after losing his belt to him. Rude won, not just on the Title rematch but also on their Third fight clause, so I can see him up against any able Champion by the time that his Title Match opportunity comes again.

SIEGFRIED: (Ohhh such compassion . . . LOL) Yeah you’re right Blitz, and that’s it for our Post Fight Show. We are running out of time Blitz so in behalf of my manager, Blitz-uck-Kriegg, this is your future Light Heavyweight Champion Siegfried Freak! And I wanna give a shoutout to our Boss, Davy Jones! Thanks for the opportunity on being on the show!!!

BLITZ: Wait! Lemme . . . (cut!)

RIVALS XLVI: TIKKANEN v RUTTEN PREFIGHT SPECIAL

By BLITZ KRIEGG

EVENT INTRODUCTION: (Voice Over)

ETERNAL RIVALS – where deadly Warriors gather to test their might and walk away with the Ultimate Title and Gladiator’s Pride.

BLITZ: Welcome to the RIVALS XLVI: TIKKANEN v RUTTEN PREFIGHT SHOW, I am Blitz Kriegg, coming to you from here in Tokyo. Right now, we’re currently on an intense fight preparation with Siegfried Freak, as you all know he is on the PPV next week. So I decided to let two of my own fighters do the show. Enjoy it!

FIGHTER INTERVIEWS:

ESA TIKKANEN: I have trained well and had also scouted Rutten well in preparation for this Event and I think our match-up is fairly even, Rutten have the definitive MT advantage while I have the better grappling. None of us are known for our flashy KO’s, but nonetheless you are going to witness a rather low-volume yet very technical stand-up war with minor attempts on taking this fight on the mat. This will definitely be an exciting 15-minute of pure entertainment with me coming on top by the end of this wonderful night.

BAS RUTTEN: I think this is a great fight to test my abilities as Tikkaken possesses threats on both the ground and standing up. But this fight will show everyone why I cannot be submitted or even get knocked out. And as for my preparation coming into this fight, I haven't changed that much, I've put a little more focus on my takedown defense but other than that there’s really not much.

DANNY BROWN: I think that Bennet is a very good striker. He has very good Muay Thai and good takedown defense so I'm expecting a stand-up war on our fight. I'm going to take advantage of my reach and my power. My game plan for the fight with Bennet is simple: KNOCK HIM OUT IN BRUTAL FASHION. That's it.

NOAH BENNET: Danny Brown is definitely a very dangerous opponent. He is undefeated, has Excellent Boxing and had finished all his opponents in the 1st round - this kid has a lot of potential. But he had never faced an opponent like me. I’ve been here, in Eternal Rivals, since day one. I was the first Eternal Rivals Middleweight Champion. And I believe my experience will be the deciding factor in this fight. I had a tough time after losing my belt to Martinez, but my victory over Schilling helped me regain my

confidence. Now I'm 100 percent ready physically and mentally. Our fight with Danny Brown will be an absolute war. Let the best man win - but real winners will be MMA fans. August 24, Shinjuku Indoor Arena, Rivals XLVI - guys, you don't want to miss it!

(Event Song booms . . . just put your imagination at work.)

TRAPP DEATHGRIP: Hello Eternal Rivals fans, fighters and managers, I am Trapp, coming over to you to cover the Prefight Show of RIVALS XLVI: TIKKANEN v RUTTEN which will be held on the 24th of August in Shinjuku Indoor Arena, Tokyo. Tons of amazing match-ups are in store in this event that you should not miss. With me tonight is my good buddy, Shadow Deathgrip.

SHADOW DEATHGRIP: Thank you kiddo, we’re so happy to be here in Eternal Rivals as guests and we want to thank Blitz as well as Davy Jones for this opportunity. Now, enough of the buttering and let’s get on to the cards!

MAIN EVENT

ESA TIKKANEN (9-0-1) v BAS RUTTEN (8-4) [LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION]

TRAPP: For our Main Event, Esa Tikkanen will be fighting on his debut fight in Eternal Rivals against Bas Rutten who is also just in his 2nd stint in Eternal Rivals.

SHADOW: This just shows how hyped up this two fighters are that they already deserve a Main Event Card on Eternal Rivals.

TRAPP: Tikkanen will defend his no-loss record against Rutten who has 4-losses but is currently on a two-fight W-streak.

SHADOW: This is a very crucial point on each fighter’s Eternal Rival career because a win here will solidify their position as a title Contender for the 205 lb belt, currently with Dongmin Oh who will be defending it next Event against Siegfried Freak. Well, I don’t know what Davy is planning but the Light Heavyweight Division is starting to be a blockbuster roster.

TRAPP: Definitely. Meanwhile on this bout, we might probably see a masterful ground match between Tikkanen and Rutten.

SHADOW: That is a possibility with both fighters not known for their KO power this fight will either go for 5 rounds or end by an unexpected Submission.

TRAPP: Let’s break it down a little further. Tikkanen will definitely have the advantage on the ground with his BJJ Brown Belt and his Wonderful Wrestling, meanwhile on Striking it is a close call but I would give it to Rutten who will probably prefer a stand-up war to avoid that BJJ Brown Belt of Tik.

SHADOW: With that said, I would probably give the win to Tikkanen in another Sub-win.

TRAPP: It is too close to call though, but I agree with you on Tik’s win. But I will give Bas Rutten props for having been able to stand his ground and even win against fighters with a record better than his, which is why you can’t count this kid out that quick. He is used to being the underdog – and being a winner.

SHADOW: And for the Co-Main Event we have . . .

DANNY BROWN (6-0) v NOAH BENNET (9-1) [MIDDLEWEIGHT DIVISION]

TRAPP: Rising Rival Middleweight Star Danny Brown will look to continue his unblemished record against Former Middleweight Champion Noah Bennet who is also looking for another Title Match for his Middleweight Crown. Noah Bennet lost his belt to Ricardo Martinez who is now no longer with the Org, which makes the belt free for all, but Bennet will be a huge obstacle on that path for anyone dreaming of being a Champion.

SHADOW: Meanwhile, Danny Brown will be testing the Former Champ’s chin with his Knockout Power, but Bennet is a seasoned warrior who has been there and done that and can also Knock the hell out of Brown’s spirit. This fight is definitely going to be a stand-up apocalypse, with both fighters looking for an early KO, the fight will go for whoever will be able to withstand their opponent’s power. I would give the win to the Former Champ Bennet, whose wit and experience will be a huge advantage against a young Danny Brown.

TRAPP: I think Danny Brown had a good but slim chance of knocking out Bennet, so I would root for him on this one.

For the Undercards,

FRANK GREENE (4-1) v EVANDER TRIPP (9-7) [HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION]

This looks like a promising toe-to-toe card, with both fighter very even on their feet, the win will probably go to whoever can assert his fight strategy better. Even though Evander Tripp has more experience in fighting, Frank Greene had been in the game a little longer than Tripp has so their records must not be put into comparison. Expect a stand-up war and a quick knockout end for this fight. I’ll give the odds to Frank Greene, despite how close this fight seems.

CHANG SUN SON (6-2) v HAYATO WARMASTER (4-3) [HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION]

Former Heavyweight Champion Chang Sun Son is looking to go up the ladder again in expense of Hayato Warmaster who is currently on a 2-fight Losing skid. After earning his slot for a shot at the title against Talon who was the champion then, Grappler Hayato Warmaster is also looking to start his winning tradition again and end his losing streak. This will be a classic Grappler vs Boxer match-up, with Sun Son looking to knock Warmaster out. Depending on Warmaster’s takedown success, his hopes look dim for knockout artist Sun Son, so a win via T/KO is what I expect for this bout.

MARCUS BALDRIDGE (7-3) v TONY RIZZO (5-4) [WELTERWEIGHT DIVISION]

Another Former Champion in this card is Marcus Baldridge who is looking to solidify his rocky win-loss record taking on Tony Rizzo who is also looking to solidify his record and move up the upper half of the Welterweight rankings. Baldridge, a Rivals veteran will be using his experience as well as his dangerous ground and pound tactics on his way up the top ranks, while freestyle fighter Tony Rizzo is looking to catch on a big fish in the name of Marcus Baldridge. Marcus Baldridge needs this victory to remain relevant in his divison, so I think this will be a T/KO win for him on the 1st.

JIMMY JACOBS (5-1) v SOON DO (4-2-1) [LIGHTWEIGHT DIVISION]

After a dominating start early in his career, Jimmy Jacobs is looking to move further up and win via finish on his match against Soon Do. Soon Do, who has been in 3 orgs in just 7 fights looks to find a home in Eternal Rivals, and he will also be looking to finish this fight and avoid letting the judges do the favor of determining the winner because his two losses came by the way of the judges’ decision. So, look out for a fiery 15-minute match that may end in just a flash. I would give this fight to Do with another ground win, either a T/KO or Sub, in the 2nd.

KENICHI ATOSHI (7-5) v USHIO OBAKE (4-3) [LIGHTWEIGHT DIVISION]

Lightweights Kenichi Atoshi and Ushio Obake are both looking to bounce back after First Round loss on their last fight in Eternal Rival. Kenichi Atoshi is looking to regain his contender form after losing 4 of his last 5 fights, while Ushio Obake is looking to move up the ladder by winning against a BJJ Brown Belt, Atoshi. Obake will definitely need to change his fight plan or a miracle on the ground, or else it will be a win via Submission for Atoshi.

PEDER BJORNSNURD (4-2) v JASON METRO (2-2) [WELTERWEIGHT DIVISION]

Muay Thai Fighter Peder Bjornsnurd will be taking on Boxer Jason Metro on our first fight of the night. Jason Metro wants to get a win and improve his percentage but it will be hard against a Stand-up Specialist Bjornsurd. But we’ve seen underdogs win and it’s not impossible in this game, so after a thrilling stand-up war we should see a Finish early in the night. I would give the win to Bjornsurd though.

TRAPP: So, that’s it for us tonight. . .

SHADOW: Wait!

TRAPP: Why?

SHADOW: This just in, Blitz got a message from Davy, that the last two slots have been filled it will be. . .

RASHAD JONES (7-2) v BEN SCHILLING (5-5) [MIDDLEWEIGHT DIVISION]

TRAPP: Wow, I salute fighters taking quick fight notices.

SHADOW: I checked the records and it shows that, the Decision-a-tor, Jones is on his Eternal Rivals debut on this event, while Schilling had just fought in his previous fights Bennet and Brown and ended up losing.

TRAPP: Wow, this should be a bounce back fight for Schilling and for Jones, he needs to continue his Decision Wins on Eternal Rivals.

SHADOW: I guess Jones will have a hard time taking this fight the whole 15 minutes of it, because Schilling is known for his T/KO wins who had already earned 2 KOTN Awards, so I will give this one to Schilling via T/KO.

TRAPP: I agree with you.

SHADOW: Is this correct? The second quick notice fight is a fight between. . .

RICK RUDE (8-4) v MARK ABBOTT (6-2) [HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION]

TRAPP: Didn’t Rude just defend his belt last week?

SHADOW: Yeah, and sadly he lost it to Speed. I think he wants to take his vengeance on Abbott.

TRAPP: This Event is just getting better and better, I’m just so glad that we were here as special guests.

SHADOW: I also checked their records and I found out that Abbott is also debuting on this Event!

TRAPP: Wow! And I think you missed something on your message too . . . it says that this fight will be the Main Event!

SHADOW: What an exciting turn of events! Wait, Blitz is calling. . .

BLITZ (via phone): Someone wants to talk to you,

Via phone: Hi, This is Mark Abbott.

SHADOW: Wow, we’re just talking about you and your debut in the Main Event of RIVALS XLVI. Anyway, have you already checked you opponent Rick Rude? What are your thoughts about him?

MARK ABBOTT: Thanks. I think Rick Rude is a nice guy, but tomorrow I'll ride my custom, get into the arena, put on some heavy metal music and walk into the cage and KICK HIS BUTT. Then we can have a beer together, if Rude still wanted to. LOL!

SHADOW: Ohh! I don’t know how Rude will be taking that one. I’m looking forward for a great main event this 24th so goodluck on your fight!

ABBOTT: Thanks! (Phone disconnects.)

TRAPP: WOW! I am getting even more excited for this Event!

SHADOW: Yeah, me too. Sadly, we’ve run out of time. So we need to say goodbye now.

TRAPP: Don’t worry we’ll still be here for the Postfight Specials. So, in behalf of our manager Blitz Kriegg, I am Trapp Deathgrip inviting everyone to come and watch RIVALS XLVI: TIKKANEN v RUTTEN on the 24th of August Live in Shinjuku Indoor Arena, Tokyo.

SHADOW: And I am Shadow Deathgrip saying thanks to Davy Jones, this has been ETERNAL RIVALS – where deadly Warriors gather to test their might and walk away with the Ultimate Title and Gladiator’s Pride. I'll be leaving all of you the message: “FIGHT for the RIGHT TO STAY ALIVE!”

  • 7 months later...

In a recent interview, when asked about how he intends to approach his first professional kickboxing fight that may be different than his amateur bouts, Dee Mulks had this to say;

"I don't really see my opponent as being more or less dangerous than the fighters I have faced before... It's a pretty simple gameplan going in. I'm going to nullify his clinch and kick his head clean off of his shoulders. Simple and predictable."

Mad Mulks will be making his 145lb QFC-KT debut against Joe Vitalli on April 17th during the Eternal Rivals: QFC-KT XV event.

Mulks has an extensive amateur record and a very solid standup game all around. Can he use his speed and technique to stop Vitalli's brutal elbows or will he fall to the proven power of the Italian knockout artist? We'll be sure to catch up with him after the match for a follow up on this very exciting young KT prospect.
