Cf.21: Payakaroon vs Susi recap (click the poster for more info):

Main event: Payakaroon vs Susi for the lightweight title. -- This was Payakaroon's first title defence under the Crashforce brand. Hes opponent was a crafty veteran and a Crashforce newcomer Keni Susi. From the starting bell to the final minutes of the fifth round Payakaroon absolutely dominated the fight with hes sharp stand up and solid takedown defence. The challenger had a bit weird tactic coming in to this fight and my guess is that he drained all hes energy just trying to take Payakaroon down. Winner by unanimous decision: Wangjannoi Payakaroon!

-

Co-main event: Zeldenthuis vs Serra for the welterweight title. -- It was obvious from the starting bell that this fight would be decided on the mat. The challenger in Serra defended Zeldenthuis' takedown attempts very well and countered with a takedowns of hes own almost at will. On the mat it was different story though. While Serra tried to pick hes spots and looked for openings it was the champ who wanted to finish the fight asap. Zeldenthuis looked actively for submissions and in the fifth round got a hold of Serra's arm and went for the kill. Winner by submission (armbar): Dirk Zeldenthuis!

-

Heavyweight top dogs bout: Richards vs Lipponen. -- Top dogs? What? Yes, the winner of this fight will be at least in the title contention if not in the title fight next. The setup for this fight was quite familiar to us fight fans: the stand up versus the ground game. The first two rounds Lipponen had hes will and took Richards to the ground convincingly but wasn't able to finish him. The third round was closer though and I think that Richards took that with hes pin point striking but was it too little, too late? at least according to the judges yes it was. Winner by unanimous decision: Pekka Lipponen!

-

Welterweight title challenger bout: Murder vs Pesonen. -- Two vets going at it here. Frank Murder showed some impressive boxing right from the start. He slowly picked apart hes opponent in Pesonen with well timed and powerful striking. Pesonen really had no answer and looked oddly sloppy tonight. Both warriors brought it though and the audience was pleased. In the second round the was an exchange where both guys connected. After that they high fived and went at it again. Soon after that Murder's uppercut from hell found hes mark and it was all over. Winner by KO (Punch): Frank Murder!

For the rest of the fights click the event poster above. Thanks!

Eheh, thanks for that mate.

And I don't really mind that Fire Nutrition also decided to sell muscle bulk. But really, why not Stamina?

I was trying to corner a market damnit :D

Also, Donatien Alphonse Francois De Sade is ready to tear it up at 170lbs.

Cf.28: Welcome To Valhalla

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/129528236928-valhalla.jpg

Main Event – Undefeated prodigy Donatien Alphonse Francois de Sade took on the dangerous veteran Frank Murder and managed to assert his dominance in the second round. Murder came out and fought an excellent first round, cutting his foe and getting the better of the striking. De Sade managed to establish a clinch in the second frame, and from that point on it was a one sided beat-down. He didn’t even miss a single strike while punishing his opponent in the clinch. De Sage finished the job and wins at 2:43 of round 2 via TKO.

Co-Main Event – The young and fortified Mr. Stigu faced off against the experienced Matt Miller in an exciting co-main event attraction. Stigu may have taken the lengthiest beating of his entire career last night. He was dominated in every single aspect of the fight. Miller was almost flawless, rarely missing his opponent and scoring points in the clinch, on the ground and on the feet. It seems the only thing he didn’t do in this fight was throw a flying Pettis kick. All 3 judges saw this one 30-25 for your winner via Unanimous Decicion, Matt Miller.

Bantamweights Taisto Rakuuna and Ludovicus De Jong squared off against each other and had an absolute war. This was a classic matchup of kicker vs puncher which saw the taller man prevail. De Jong just couldn’t land his low kicks enough, the 14cm height difference really affected this. Rakuuna was very much content to just pick his foe apart from the outside and was able to land a larger volume of strikes to his shorter opponent. The judges all saw it 30-27 for your winner via Unanimous Decision, Taisto Rakuuna.

More bantamweight action as Druin Kahn put his undefeated record on the line against powerhouse Jose Cuervo. Kahn tried everything in his will to get the fight to the ground but ultimately lacked the skills to do so. Cuervo really embarrassed his opponent tonight, not getting hit once and defending all 7 takedown attempts before landing his bombs. This was probably the most lopsided beating of the whole night. A clean left finishes the deal at 4:10 of round 1. Cuervo wins via KO!

Crashforce heavyweight action was on display as Zeus Ziegfield took on Brian McGuire in a heated rematch. Ziegfeld won their last outing via decision and he managed to replicate and refine his game plan which resulted in a far worse domination. McGuire could barely get the fight to the ground once compared to the six times he managed to do so in their last fight. Ziegfield has shown vast improvements since last time, and he is your winner via Unanimous Decision.

Other notable fights:

Matt Mylly put on a dominant anti-grappling display en route to a 30-27 victory

Smooth Operator gets KO of the night win over an older veteran

Rob Roberto with the vicious Head Kick KO, fans favourite as KO of the night

Hans Lankari wins via dominant grappling; scored a 30:24 round

Kimi Aanekoski wins the closest fight of the night, 2 round to 1

Cf.29: Viking Legacy

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/129623440129-viking.jpg

Main Event - Markku Oramo vs Tom Byron - 265lbs Title Fight

8-0 Markku Oramo defended his title successfully against 8-4 Tom Byron with a sheer display of punching dominance. Byron couldn't land anything on his opponent, no matter how hard he tried. Oramo really embarrassed Byron this fight, he barely got hit once and it was extremelly one sided. It's a suprise that Byron didn't utilize his wrestling skills and try to make it more competitive of a fight. Oramo landed over one hundered punches in this bout, which is why every judge scored is 50:42 Unanimously for Oramo.

Co-Main Event - Veli Rokka vs Donny Dane

Veli Rokka hands Donny Dane his first professional defeat in what was a very evenly fought bout between both warriors. Dane comfortably won the first 2 rounds, getting the better of the stand up and landing a few takedowns. Rokka opened up a cut in the first frame, and it progressively got worse as he was able to land some sharp elbows. The doctor called a stop to the bout at 4:51 of round 3 with 9 seconds left in the fight, awarding Rokka with the TKO victory and the biggest win of his career! Oh, yeah and a middleweight championship belt. What an outstanding come from behind victory.

Pekka Lipponen vs Kevin Johnson

This middleweight bout was all action from the start as Johnson started swinging hard, opening up a cut on his foe. Lipponen turned the heat on after seeing his own blood, and fought with crisp, effective technique. After several knockdowns and submission escapes, Lipponen managed to secure Johnson's back and sink in the RNC for the tap. A truly skilled performance

Jonny Victorio vs Juri Arpa

Surely a fight of the night contender, these guys stood and traded leather in a very dynamic, exciting fight for the fans to watch. Arpa got knocked down and dazed with a viscious punch but managed to recover and keep himself in the fight. Victorio just kept pushing through all the punishment, landing a devastating combo and finishing off the epic job at 1:51 of round 3 via KO (Punches)

Anderson Romario vs Getto The Choppa

Jon Bones Jones can learn a thing or two from Anderson Romario on how to throw elbows. Getto The Choppa is a seriously skilled boxer, and he managed to land a large amount of punches in the first and the second frames. Romario devastating him in the third round though, hitting him with elbows that were so powerful they probably created thoughts of retirement in Choppa's mind.

Other notable fights:

Jason Myers vs Joaquim Williams - Excellent mix of takedowns and punches. Myers via Unanimous Decision

Bruce Tree vs Mick Fitzpatrick - Very close striking battle. Tree wins via Unanimous Decision

Homicidal Maniac vs Daan Overeem - Oh my god. Nothing else

Sergei Vorg vs Heikki Mela - Vorg wins via Wrestling

Carl Syrelius vs Magus Caligula - Syrelius wins via close decision

Cf.30: Impact

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/129623455630-impact.jpg

Odin Fredriksson vs Kalle Kolmiokuristus - 205lbs Title Fight

Crashforce light heavyweight champ Odin Fredriksson defended his title once again against BJJ black belt and grappling phenom Kalle Kolmiokuristus. Kalle tried to replicate the success he had in the last fight against Fredriksson, but his wrestling was easily thwarted by the champion. Odin was able to stay on the outside and land crisp, powerful punches which opened up a nasty cut. The real dominance was asserted in the clinch though, where Fredriksson bashed and bloodied the face of his foe with hardly any resistance. A crushing uppercut sealed the deal at the 4:24 mark of round 1 and Fredrikkson retains his title. He picks up another fight of the night bonus and moves to 3-0 with Crashforce.

Dirk Zeldenthuis vs Reima Katekismus - 170lbs Title Fight

I think it's safe to say that Reima Katekismus wasn't exactly expecting the tricky gameplan in which Dirk Zeldenthuis employed with class. Zeldenthuis has been quietly putting in the time to improve his striking, and it really payed off for him tonight. The BJJ black belt devastated his opponent on the feet with a straight left, then his killer instinct took hold and he swarmed with strikes to force the referee stoppage. Zeldenthuis wins via TKO at 1:57 of round 1 and picks up his very first T(KO) victory. A large feather in the cap for Zeldenthuis who retains his welterweight crown and moves to 3-1 in the organization.

Matti Teppo vs Hans Lippencot

Matti Teppo delivered a thorough beating to Hans Lippencot on the ground, who really couldn't contend with his ground skills. Once Teppo established top position, it was quite one sided as he passed the guard and landed strikes with ease. It's incredible that Lippencot wasn't knocked out unconscious despite being rocked by the blows of Teppo. Lippencot's will started to fade by the third round and Teppo made a very nice pass into side control and took the arm home with him. He wins via Armbar at 3:45 of round 3 and picks up a Submission of the night bonus.

Mike Horner vs Jesse Jalkalukko

Powerhouse Mike Horner shut down the grappling plans of Jesse Jalkalukko and left no room for controversy, finishing the fight within the first frame. Jalkalukko didn't get completely shut out though, as he was able to complete a takedown into mount right before the referee stood up the fight. His energy was seemingly depleted by that point, failing with many powerful takedown attempts and Horner capitalized on the opportunity. Horners wild and dangerous punches are not to be taken lightly. A headkick followed by a jab, straight right combo finishes affairs at the 4:21 mark of round 1 and Horner wins via KO!

Leuka Mononen vs Jack Hammer - 135 Bantamweight Grandprix Finals

The final of the Crashforce bantamweight grand prix between Leuka Mononen and Jack Hammer was a very intreaguing stylistic matchup that showcased Mononen's superior skills on the ground. Both men fought through a tough field of competitors ( http://challonge.com/iFight135GP ) and it all came down to the boxer vs the wrestler. Hammer proved he can finish just about anybody when he lands his fists, but was really nullified by the skills of Mononen. Although he lost the stand up war, Mononen was able to control 3 of the 5 rounds and secure the victory. Mononen wins via 48:47 Unanimous Decision and wins $20,000 plus the Crashforce Bantamweight Belt. Hammer wins $10,000 for being runner up. Congratulations!

Other notable fights:

Rocky Mercurius vs Mocha Latte - Mercurius wins via Unanimous Decision, it's amazing Latte survived

Mike Adamsky vs Antti Atleetti - Adamsky played kick the can, successfully

Moukka Monottaja vs Rerbert Gracie - Monottaja wina via Sprawl and KO

Yngve yngo vs Victor Du Bois - Yngo violated Du Bois in the clinch

Alan Mecier vs Jose Martinez - Mecier wins via Anti-Jiu Jitsu. We've seen that a lot tonight!

Cf.31: Animated Violence

http://mmatycoon.com/images/posters/129692933131-animated.jpg

Ado Flame vs Severi Turpaansaaja

The Animated Violence main event was something to behold as Ado Flame decisively out-pointed Severi Turpaansaaja with kicks, punches and especially in the clinch. The grappling intentions of Severi really backfired as he was unable to take the fight to the ground on 9 occasions. The leg kicks really nullified his offense and he was controlled like a puppet in the clinch. Although Flame dominated the fight he was no where near finishing it. The iron chin of Severi is rarely phased and Flame was very intelligent to recognize that and attack the body and diminish his gas tank for the majority of the bout. Flame wins via Unanimous Decision and will surely be a force in the upper echelons of the lightweight scene.

Cesar Romero vs Romeo Platinov

The young Cesar Romero really exposed the ground game of Romeo Platinov, repeatedly taking him down and distributing a powerful ground and pound assault. After a beautiful sweep into the full mount, Romero truly released the beast and began crushing his fists into his opponents skull. 5 strikes is all it took to take Platinov out of his consciousness and claim a decisive, dominant victory. His ground offense is very sharp and when he strikes, he strikes with bad intentions and tries to finish fights. Platinov couldn't get anything rolling, and despite landing a sweep on Romero he was quickly reversed, mounted and finished. Romero wins via TKO (Strikes) at 3:27 of round 1 and moves into the top 10 in Crashforce.

Wangjannoi Payakaroon vs Damion McGinley

Undefeated lightweight Crashforce champion Wangjannoi Payakaroon successfully defended his title for the first time against newcomer Damion McGinley in a rather dominant 25 minute affair. The leg and body kicks were unbearable, and slowly and surely the gas tank and the will of McGinley was fading. He was completely taken out of his realm of comfort and was also out-boxed by the hungrier Payakaroon. They say to be a true champion you need to defend your title at least once. Payakaroon has done that convincingly and now prepares for a reign of dominance in the future. He wins via Unanimous Decision and moves to 6-0.

Timo Silakka vs Carter Potter

Talented boxers and thick chinned warriors Timo Silakka and Carter Potter met and fought toe to toe in an explosive stand up battle. Both men were trying to impress as they were both making their Crashforce debuts. Potter had some extreme disadvantages coming into this fight however. His skin is very thin and Silakka had 24cm in height on him, which proved detrimental. Opening a cut with ease, Silakka continued to pepper the area until the cut was bleeding so badly the doctor had no choice but to stop the bout. Silakka moves to 14-9 and obtains an important win in his lengthy career.

Maximus Manhoef vs Eskobar Andersson

The lightweight debut of Maximus Manhoef was a successful one as he submits Eskobar Andersson in the opening frame and makes some noise in the division. After a lengthy struggle on the feet and in the clinch, Manhoef was finally able to secure a takedown into half guard. Amazingly, Andersson who is a BJJ purple belt didn't last long at all and was screaming in pain only seconds after he was on his back. Once Manhoef locked up the shoulder, he fiercely cranked it and forced a tap. Beautiful jiu jitsu put on display as Andersson wins via Kimura at 2:22 of round 1 and claims submission of the night.

Other fights:

Marlo Mouzone vs Jukka Hilden - A pure beatdown on the ground, Mouzone wins via TKO

Raidu Ruumets vs Sponge SquarePants - Striker vs Grappler, Ruumets wins via KO

Pulp Fiction vs Cliff Richards - Turned into a vegetable. Fiction wins via Unanimous Decision

Rike McMylly vs Donnie badge - McMylly wins via Kick to the neck! Awesome, KOTN bonus

Geraldo Higgins vs Minsc Boo - Higgins via Unanimous Decision. Boo didn't get the eyes

Cf.32: Blackout

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/129695673332-blackout.jpg

Anderson Romario vs Kevin Johnson

Crashforce Blackout is proud to have put together a fabulous main event in which Anderson Romario went to battle against the grappling based Kevin Johnson. The fight remained on the feet for the entirety of the bout while Romario picked apart his foe with precision strikes. It was very one sided fight, Johnson was rendered useless on the feet and Romario almost got a knockout victory. After opening a cut and after continuous aggravation the doctor was forced to halt the bout with Johnson's best intentions at heart. A decisive victory for Romario as he wins via TKO (Cut) at 2:10 of round 2.

Pelle Mutanaama vs Frank Murder

World class boxing talent Frank Murder went to war against a fierce grappler, Pelle Mutanaama. The hands of Murder never landed, and he hardly had the opportunities to throw any punches. Mutanaama put him on his back and went to work, attacking with submissions and trying to finish the fight. Murder was actually holding his own on the ground until he got sloppy in his guard and managed to get caught in an armlock. He was controlling the position relatively well until he got caught. Pelle Mutanaama wins via Submission (Armbar) at 3:01 of round 2

Harri Olli vs Pawel Andrea

World class boxer Harri Olli landed with clean punches tonight. And that can only mean bad things for Pawel Andrea as he folded up like a lawn chair after he got hit. The fight only lasted a short duration; Andrea couldn't utilize any wrestling abilities and was hacked down before he even thought about attempting any takedowns. Olli actually tried to take down the wrestler once, which shows his confidence in his MMA game. A very impressive victory and Olli wins via KO (Punches) at 0:11 of round 1.

Jason Myers vs Beat You

Jason Myers moves to 2-0 in Crashforce and picks up an impressive finish over Beat You. He had his opponent out matched right from the beginning, and he outclassed him on the feet and in the clinch. After a brutal knockdown, You was on queer street and was in trouble. Myers swarmed with a vicious combo and finished the bout in very convincing fashion, leaving the cage unscathed. Myers wins via TKO (Strikes) at 4:16 of round 1.

Matt Serra vs Jasse Pesonen

A brilliant and seemingly genius gameplan was fought by Matt Serra as neglected his wrestling skills and opted to dominate the fight where he was more confident in winning - on the feet. Pesonen tried to get this fight to the ground, as well as utilize his kicks and other effective strikes. Serra showed his power and wit, earning his first victory in Crashforce and moves to 1-3 inside the organization. He wins via KO (Punch) at 4:54 of round 1.

Osgar MacGregor vs Urho Kekkonen - MacGregor wins via KO

Tirawit Kokin vs Lars Fightmann - Kokin wins via Unanimous Decision

Jorge Assis vs Chuck Billy - Assis wins via Unanimous Decision

Ben Dingdown vs Douglas Neddles - Dingtown wins via KO

John Smith vs Jesse Kshymensky - Smith wins via Triangle

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/129952590533-valhalla.jpg

Helloooooo evryone!

Last thursday we kickstarted the new SHW creation tournament: The King of Valhalla. We had a few set backs as one of the tournament fights was ruled a no contest. Well thats have been taken care of but right after the event I heard that our event recap writer is super busy and cannot write for us at least for a while. :( So heres my very short recap of the evening (please bear with the rough language at times. No pun intented):

Donny Dane vs Veli Rokka for the 185lbs title:

Dane had his way in this rematch and took back the belt from Rokka after 5 rounds of face punching.

Sabin Figaro vs Donatien Alphonse Francois de Sade:

Figaro whooped some serious ass here. Francois de Sade hung in there but wasnt able to capitalize.

The King of Valhalla 1st round tournament fights:

Marek Szewczuk vs Ahto Paine:

Marek Szwccwweezkzzk chickened out after seeing some of Paine's training footage on youtube. Paine advances to the next round via impressive internet intimidation (no contest).

Hord Hirmuinen vs Kaj Priscilla:

Hord treated Priscilla like hes bitch. It took a total of 35 seconds to get the molesting done. Hord advances to the next round.

Kauno Kuuknaapi vs John James:

After just 29 secs Kuuknaapi KTFOs James to oblivion.

Teitur Gunnarson vs Chev Chelios:

Gunnarson kicked 39 kinds of shit out of Chelios who did nothing but tried to get the fight to the ground.

Danny The Dog vs Mikey Schkelpt:

After 3 rounds of face smashing the judges were drunk enough to "see" that The Dog landed the better shots.

Phoenix Valhalla vs Marrok Crotale:

Crotale cut mr.Valhalla with a big overhand right. After this Phoenix was reborn and delivered a punch from hell. It's been almost a week now and Marrok still doesn't know what hit him.

Tiberius Alakalakeitto vs Henry Chinaski:

Tiberius came, clinched and won. And by "came" I don't mean what you are now thinking.

Sauna Majuri vs Vincent Overeem:

Bell rings. Overeem is cut. Majuri is cut. Overeem is cut again. Majuri is cut more. Overeem is KTFO'd. I bet that this fight was an exciting one but I can't tell becouse Im on the ringside covered in blood.

Reviving the custom of event previews, thanks to the writer extraordinaire Martin O'Neill!

Cf.58: Fight Globe

170: Main Event: Frank "Big Baby Jesus" Murder (16-9-0) v "Le Marquis" Donatien Alphonse Francois de Sade (7-2-0)

The Welterweight Championship of Crashforce is on the line here in the Main Event, with the vacant title being fought for between the American Frank "Big Baby Jesus" Murder and the extravagantly named Frenchman "Le Marquis" Donatien Alphonse Francois de Sade. The former is the more experienced by far, with 25 career fights to date this twenty-six year old looks to become a Champion for the first time in his career here on Thursday night. He boasts Exceptional Boxing and Brown grade BJJ in a great all-round game. He also has Superb Muay Thai and Wrestling but with 56% of his career wins coming by way of his striking, it's safe to assume that this will be an avenue he'll look to explore during the course of this Championship bout. Coming into this bout on the back of four straight wins will give him serious confidence, but deep down he'll remember that these two have fought before with "Le Marquis" taking down a Round 2 (T)KO win via Strikes at CF 28 – And with 55% of his losses coming via this method, "Big Baby Jesus" likes to stand and trade which is not only his strength, but certainly his weakness too, his opponent knows this so will we see Frank Murder switch to a grappling game to perhaps bypass this fact? Since their first meeting "Le Marquis" has won two and lost two, with the two wins straight coming into this bout perhaps giving de Sade some confidence as he looks to repeat his performance at the fore mentioned CF 28, with Sensational Boxing and Remarkable Muay Thai, and a phenomenal record thus far of finishing his opponents, 6 of 7 career wins have come via either variety of KO "Le Marquis" will certainly want to keep this one standing as he's deadly in this area. However with superior Wrestling, and equal BJJ – certainly on paper to Murder, there is no certainly "Big Baby Jesus" will be able to take this man down should he want to do so. "Le Marquis" certainly comes into this bout as the favourite, however Frank "Big Baby Jesus" Murder will want to have a big say on the outcome that goes without saying. The key to this fight is really what both men have learned and improved on since their first bout, Donatien Alphonse Francois de Sade however has a big advantage in the striking game though – and with this fight looking like it will be settled on the feet and he can be considered the favourite for this bout, will he be able to handle the pressure of this fact?

265: Co Main Event: Carter "The Lion" Potter (18-7-0) v Jonny "The Angel" Victorio (9-3-0)

Coming into this bout on the back of four straight wins, three of which via early (T)KO Carter "The Lion" Potter is a man on form and this 30 year old New Zealander will want to extend that here on Friday Night. With Exceptional Boxing and Strong Muay Thai, and a record of 66% wins via Stoppage "The Lion" loves to keep bouts standing and he's certainly a man to finish, but his aggressive style has also been his downfall in many an occasion with 5 of 7 career losses coming via knockout of some sort also. Potter however has been famed for his Granite Chin and there is no doubt that he is willing to eat some shots to get his own off and he'll really want to get the job done here in this Heavyweight encounter by bringing this aggressive and popular style again. Coming off a 'KO of the Night' award from his last outing, Jonny "The Angel" Victorio boasts a similar Exceptional Boxing and Strong Muay Thai game to his opponent – With 7 of 9 career wins coming via (T)KO and this bout is poised to be an absolute war between two top strikers, the Italian, fighting out of New York City is taking on a vastly experienced opponent but he'll be confident in getting the job done. This one promises to be a real bout for the fans, and it might well be decided by who gets a clean shot in first because both these men really have finishing power. This is a clash of two men on form, but with Potter being the more aggressive of the two as well as taking down his last four, he perhaps will come in as the favourite but being the underdog is a tag that Jonny "The Angel" Victorio will relish and look to cause what would be an upset here for sure. Carter "The Lion" Potter will hold a very slight reach advantage, and with these two men holding so much power this could well prove to be a key factor because I expect this to become a very technical affair rather than the rip roaring brawl due to the amount of respect that both men will have for the other's obvious power here.

170: Alan Mecier (5-0-0) v Mercutio Benvolio (7-5-0)

Alan Mecier, the 20 year old Czech sensational puts his perfect career record on the line here Friday night as this Welterweight stands currently at 5-0-0, boasting Remarkable Boxing as the base of a dangerous all round game – Interestingly he has 2 of those 5 career wins via Submission meaning this truly looks like a dangerous young man in every area of the game. Mecier has shown his power, at C.f 47 he knocked his opponent to the mat before finishing up with an arm bar finish, then most recently at C.f 52 he took down his opponent with ease showing us that Superb Wrestling of his, furthermore giving us evidence that he could very well be the next big thing in Crashforce's Welterweight division. What the fans like about this guy is that he just does for it, perhaps he'll have to refine up in future but for now Mecier just goes in and fights, and he's aggressive from every position which is what makes his such a tricky task for anyone he faces. On Friday night that will be Mercutio Benvolio, a Sensational Muay Thai striker from Italy who will be much more experienced than the undefeated youngster and how might that play out during the course of this bout? With 4 of 7 career wins via (T)KO Stoppage, Benvolio certainly has the power to end the perfect career record of his opponent and I think he can be considered his toughest task to date for sure – Especially if we factor in the massive reach advantage that the Italian will have and with his Sensational Muay Thai game you have to believe that Alan Mecier is going to want to eat up the space and/or take this fight to the ground to neutralise the dangerous striking of Mercutio Benvolio – Something that the Italian surely must have been working on because he hasn't exactly shown himself to be adept at keeping fights standing thus far in his career. With both men boasting Superb Wrestling, the key to this fight is just how that adapts to MMA here with Benvolio must certainly wanting to use his Wrestling to keep the fight standing, whereas Mecier, I believe, will want to take the bout to the mat where he'll feel he'll be able to dictate this fight better. This one promises to be a keenly fought affair and might well be a contender for 'Fight of the Night' in my estimation. So much depends just how believable Alan Mecier uses his Remarkable Boxing to set up his takedowns though.

185: Lyoto Maia (16-15-0) v "WorkHorse" Pointon Slavey (10-7-0)

This Middleweight encounter seems to be a fairly open and shut case as Lyoto Maia takes on "WorkHorse" Pointon Slavey here at C.f 58 on Friday Night. "WorkHorse" has an incredible 80% of his career wins via (T)KO Stoppage, he boasts Exceptional Boxing and is a very entertaining fighter, holding numerous 'Of the Night' awards to his name. Coming into this bout off the back of a loss, this 28 year old from London, England will want to get his mind of the turmoil that currently rocks his home city as he looks to rock Helsinki here on Fight Night. Slavey has a serious chin, he's only ever been stopped once as a result of (T)KO, and even that was dubious as it was due to a controversial cut. He is as tough as they come, however he does seem to be quite weak with his grappling and that is what makes this bout open and shut as stated early because his opponent at C.f 58 has won 12 of 16 career wins thus far via Submission as he takes on Lyoto Maia. Maia however doesn't like to strike, he's lost 8 of 15 career bouts via Strikes including coming into this bout on the back of a KO and a (T)KO and for him to be successful here you really feel that he has to get this bout to the mat where his Brown grade BJJ is more than enough to put away "WorkHorse". Lyoto Maia needs to get this fight on the mat, however his opponent is not stupid, he knows this too and look for this one to be a really cagey affair as both men will most likely want to really bide their time before exploding because neither wants to expend too much energy too early in this bout handing the initiative to their dangerous opponents. It's the grappler against the striker here, who will dictate this bout – Whoever can implement their tactics better wins this fight, it's that simple.

Cf.59: Crunch! Preview

205: Main Event: "Mighty" Mike Mackey (10-4-0) v Odin "Óðinn" Fredriksson (14-5-0)

The Main Event of the Evening is the Light-Heavyweight bout between Mike Mackey and Odin "Óðinn" Fredriksson, this is a rematch from C.f. 47 when "Mighty" Mike Mackey took the Championship from "Óðinn" as the Doctor controversially called a halt to this fight in Round 3 due to the severity of the cuts to the face that the former Champion had. Mackey showed what he was all about in that bout however; he pretty much dominated the bout as he showed good takedown offence, great striking and variety with punches and kicks landing from all positions and the gauntlet has been laid before the former Champion – What can he do this time that he couldn't do at C.f. 47? Odin "Óðinn" Fredriksson is an experienced operator, with Sensational Boxing and effective Brown grade BJJ he has 10 of his 14 career wins thus far via finishes and he knows how to get the job done. From Asgard, Norway Odin "Óðinn" Fredriksson as stated is a former Light-Heavyweight Champion, but what can he do here to get his title back – He'll need to put the Champion under more pressure because at C.f. 47 he didn't really get anything off and that is the key to this bout, is he willing to take the risk? With 60% of Fredriksson's losses coming via (T)KO stoppage, perhaps his lack of trust in his chin leads to his conservative style? He'll have to do some soul searching with this bout just hours away. The Champion comes into this bout on the back of three straight wins, with one defence of his title out of the way it's safe to say that his nerves will be well and truly gone as he is the now undisputed Champion of Crashforce. Boasting Sensational Boxing and Wonderful Muay Thai we know what the Champion is all about, he'll have no problem keeping this fight standing and with Exceptional Wrestling and Brown grade BJJ he boasts a pretty respectable ground game too as he can dictate the pace of any fight with his phenomenal skill set. However with 8 of 10 career wins coming by way of his striking game, you know "Mighty" is going to want to keep this one standing, furthermore, it hasn't been that long since he out fought his opponent tonight on his feet and I think he'll follow a similar game plan tonight. The key to this fight for the Champion is to avoid complacency, Mike Mackey knows he is good enough to defeat his opponent, but he'll still have to be professional. As for the Challenger, it's all about regaining his title and revenge for his loss at C.f. 47, however to do that he's going to have to commit more to his striking, which of course leaves him open against a striker on the level of Mackey – This one is all about tactics for Fredriksson, he can get the win, but he'll not be the favourite for this bout. It seems like it's the defending Champions bout to lose.

205: Roland "Project G" Box (9-2-0) v "Mean Mugging" John Malham (7-3-0)

The Co Main Event of the Evening is also in our Light-Heavyweight division as Roland Box and John Malham are due to face off. Both these men are hugely talented, possessing very little holes in their games and this one promises to be an intriguing encounter. Fresh off defeat in his bid to win the 205 Crown, Roland "Project G" Box is back in action, boasting a crazily high skill set this man can literally take this fight anywhere and be successful, he's got serious striking, and a very effective ground game – He also knows how to finish a fight with 5 of 9 career wins not going the distance. Before his defeat in his last bout, he wasn't defeated in nine and he looks to be a serious threat for the gold because he is only 22 years old – He has got all the time in the world to mature and develop and I think this bout will be more a mental battle, than a physical because we know he is more than capable of taking anyone out. Standing across the cage from him in a few hours will be "Mean Mugging" John Malham, another hugely talented individual, with wins via stoppage, submission and 42% of his wins via Decision, he certainly knows how to take a fight the distance and grind out a win. Taking down a Round 1 (T)KO win on his C.f debut he'll look to keep up his undefeated record here in the company after taking out Kalle Kolmiokuristus in such impressive fashion. This fight is pretty much impossible to second guess, both these fighters can take it anywhere and both will be happy to go anywhere. The key to this fight is which of these men can control the action – Whoever can dictate where the fight takes place, will most likely take down the win but this is a pretty hard fight to call. It's a coin toss in my estimation, Roland "Project G" Box however has never been finished in a fight, and he'll be desperate to get back into title contention – that might well carry him over the line here but this promises to be a seriously competitive affair at Light-Heavyweight.

155: Sergei "The Beast" Klitschko (10-5-0) v "The Cowboy" Rolls Romo (12-5-1)

Sergei "The Beast" Klitschko and "The Cowboy" Rolls Romo are in action tonight at Lightweight, and this is very much a case of the crafty veteran taking on the relative newcomer despite there being very little between these two in terms of fights career wise. "The Beast" holds Respectable Wrestling and Brown grade BJJ as he is very much a grappler, on the back on three straight wins he'll look to be extending that, however he will have to acknowledge that it won't be easy for him as he takes on a superior fighter on paper in "The Cowboy" but in his favour, he has not tasted defeat as yet in Crashforce as he looks to keep up his recent good work. "The Cowboy" Rolls Romo holds vastly superior Exceptional Wrestling, and I think this may be the key to the fight because if Kiltschko cannot get this fight to the mat, he'll lose because Rolls Romo also boasts Wonderful Boxing and has 41% of his career wins thus far coming via some form of stoppage due to his hands. He's going to be a real handful for the young Russian but he's never fought in Crashforce before, will nerves perhaps play a part here? Looking at this one on paper it's really hard to look past Romo, who most likely will let "The Beast" gas himself out trying to take this one in the mat before trying to pick him off standing, it seems that straight forward, but Sergei "The Beast" Klitschko is used to being the underdog and as he says, if you leave a limb open, he's going to take it with him en route to a win. It's a dangerous fight for Romo, he's got everything to lose and nothing to gain really but I think he'll get the job done here in this Lightweight encounter.

185: Smooth "THE DEVASTATOR" Operator (7-3-0) v Sami Svensson (3-0-0)

"If Sami thinks he can beat me,hes definetly wrong!Hes one of the guys who trust in their self and failed!", and so Smooth "THE DEVASTATOR" Operator lays down the challenge here in this Middleweight bout. With Sensational Boxing and 85% of his career wins so far via this method, he's going to want to keep this standing where he can trade with absolutely anyone and be as confident as he is and with only one defeat in his last eight bouts, he certainly knows his way around the cage as he looks to make himself a big name here in Crashforce. He's been involved in the 'KO of the Night' and 'Fight of the Night' in his last two bouts and Smooth Operator is certainly looking like a crowd pleaser, he just needs to continue his recent good form and I think Crashforce have a genuine star on their hands in this guy. Across the cage later tonight is Sami Svensson, an undefeated Swede who will put his trust in his Exceptional Boxing as he prepares for the sternest test of his career thus far. This is going to be a stand-up war, make no mistake about it – Both men can grapple, but they aren't overly offensive from this position and that's why I think this one will be settled standing. Svensson is a dangerous counter striker, and "THE DEVASTATOR" will have to find a way around this – Although he is much more experienced and he should be relishing the challenge, also take into consideration the massive reach advantage that Smooth "THE DEVASTATOR" Operator has and I think that this one is stacked in his favour to be honest. Although both these men are primed for a 'Fight of the Night' bonus if you ask me, this is going to be a war, and if Svensson can get his way out of Round 1, he's going to be a nightmare in the latter part of this bout as "THE DEVASTATOR" tires and becomes sloppy.

205: Mick "The Mick" Fitzpatrick (7-5-0) v Uzumaki Naruto (4-1-0)

265+: Shatei "The Boulder" Yoshida (4-0-0) v Kaj Priscilla (2-1-0)

185: Pawel "sonur hans teits" Andrea (7-6-0) v "Jellysauva Suolessa" Veli Rokka (7-5-0)

155: Sakari Watts (5-2-0) v Keni "NeoNinja" Susi (12-11-0)

205: Marlo "Monk" Mouzone (8-7-0) v Jacory Luck (3-1-0)

265+: Henry "Barfly" Chinaski (2-2-0) v Iso "Läski" Masa (1-2-0)

Cf.60: Quake Preview

185: Main Event: Antti Sokka (13-5-0) v Matti Teppo (11-3-0)

Headlining the Main Event of Cf.60: Quake is the meeting between Crashforce Middleweight Champion, Antti Sokka and Matti Teppo, himself a former Champion of the same division as these two clash under Championship circumstances. These two fighters have recent history, interestingly with the Challenger defeating the now Champion at Cf.42, Sokka lost himself that contest with his relentless attempts to take the fight to the mat all being brushed off by Teppo who then used his striking to take down a very close 28:29 Decision win as scored by all three judges. Matti Teppo is a dangerous BJJ Black grade, with 4 of his 11 career wins coming by Submission it is clearly his strongest area – However he does boast Exceptional Boxing and Superb Muay Thai and in the past he has shown that he can end fights from standing – but the ground is his bread and butter and look for him to use this to perhaps be the launching pad for his attempt to take the Middleweight crown, but, giving his success with his striking in their last encounter, will he want to keep this one standing and outwork the Champion again? He is well capable of doing this clearly and he presents a very real and dangerous test for the recently crowned Middleweight Champion. We wonder however just what kind of game plan the Champion is going to come into this bout with - Antti Sokka is a Sensational Wrestler and Black belt, but he lost the ground game last time out however and you wonder if he will go down this path again? Sokka has won 53% of his career wins thus far via Submission so he is well capable of getting wins via this method – Teppo was the last man to defeat him as he now comes into this bout on the back of three straight wins, and you wonder just how much their first contest will affect the Champion psychologically coming into this one. Antti Sokka has won four 'Submission of the Night' honours, but he found himself outworked and outthought when these two fought at Cf.42. The key to this fight is undoubtedly who has the sharper ground game, I think that Teppo will want this fight to go exactly like the first one and interestingly the Sensational Wrestling of Sokka was rendered, to be honest, useless. A lot will rest on just how sharp Sokka's Wrestling is here – if he is as sloppy with his shots as last time, we could well find ourselves with a new Champion. Teppo will be very confident though, he'll think this fight is here for the taking and make no mistake about it, the Champion did not want him as a first defence. This is going to be a great contest, can Sokka wipe out the last defeat of his career and get that all important first defence?

155: Severi Turpaansaaja (11-4-0) v "The spartan" Emilio Viagra (13-3-0)

"The spartan" Emilio Viagra comes to Crashforce on the back of his first loss in ten bouts, the former Lightweight Champion of British Cage Fighting will want to get himself back on track here as he goes in a new direction career wise coming to Helsinki. Viagra, a Mexican is extremely talented, he boasts Sensational Boxing, not to mention Exceptional Wrestling and effective Brown grade BJJ. He'll be the more experienced man in this Co Main event and making his debut here with Crashforce you know he's going to want to put on a show. "The spartan" has very good takedowns and his ground and pound is just nasty, with 46% of his career wins coming via (T)KO Stoppage, him in top position is the last thing you want and look for him to take this fight to the mat when he can because he's extremely effective here – He was also knocked out in his last bout, perhaps that might make the urge to take this fight to the mat more important here for Viagra as he looks to regain some confidence after that loss. Across the cage tomorrow night is Severi Turpaansaaja, on the back of four straight wins, the Finn holds Sensational Boxing and Superb Muay Thai and he can end fights from standing – Which is not good news for "The Spartan". Turpaansaaja also boasts a very similar ground game to Viagra and with no losses to date via Submission, and only one career loss via (T)KO he'll be a very confident man coming into this bout. "The spartan" will want to take this fight to the mat I am sure, but as for Severi Turpaansaaja, I believe he'll be more than happy to keep this fight standing if he can, and that might well be the difference in this bout should Viagra's takedowns not be as efficient in Helsinki MMA as they were over in England. Turpaansaaja seems to have more ways to win this fight, and I believe that might well manifest itself during the course of this bout but don't write off "The spartan", nobody goes nine fights without defeat and this man has never lost twice in a row. Someone is going to be bitterly disappointed here, it's going to be an extremely close bout and the tactical battle will be of huge importance here.

185: Liu Bei (8-5-0) v "Global Killer" Anabol Asteroid (18-10-1)

Liu Bei holds Sensational Boxing and good Muay Thai, more importantly he's won 75% of his career wins via (T)KO and he'll want to bounce back with a win here in this Middleweight bout as he looks to get over his loss at Cf.55. It will be interesting to see how he copes with "Global Killer" Anabol Asteroid who holds a massive advantage in this bout in terms of experience, with twenty-nine career fights to date coming into this bout. This fight is destined to be settled standing as these two strikers are just under twenty four hours from colliding, with Exceptional Boxing and Remarkable Muay Thai Asteroid has 66% of his wins via (T)KO and on the face of it, it would appear like this is his fight to lose. However "Global Killer" has only won on two of his last six outings and that, by anyone's standards is not exactly Championship form. He'll really want to get back on track here and has the opportunity to put back to back wins in for the first time in a long time here – That might well get him through this bout. I think the key to this bout is the fact that Asteroid has only ever been finished once, he's been in the cage with some of the best fighters in Helsinki and he is under a new management team – If he's got his head on the game, he's the favourite – But Liu Bei will relish being the underdog, the Mongol has absolutely nothing to lose here and I think he'll be really confident in being only one of two men to get a finish over Anabol Asteroid in what would be a big upset win in my opinion, with his power, "Global Killer" will have to show him respect and look for this to be a cagey striking affair rather than an all-out brawl.

170: Rocky Mercurius (7-3-0) v Pelle "Hermanni" Mutanaama (7-4-0)

Pelle "Hermanni" Mutanaama has never been finished in his career, however he has tasted two defeats in his last two outings and this Exceptional Wrestler and Brown grade BJJ grappler needs to get a win under his belt by any means here. With every career win thus far (7) coming by way of Submission, he is more than capable of finishing this one should he get it to the mat and that really is the key to this fight, if he can, his chances of winning increase dramatically. From Baku, Azerbaijan, "Hermanni" will fancy his chances of being the first man to submit Rocky Mercurius as I think this fight looks destined to be settled on the mat. With, what looks to be a similar grappling game with Exceptional Wrestling and Brown grade BJJ, look for Mercurius to be less subtle than "Hermanni" when this fight hits the ground, he favours ground and pound more so and he's also pretty good at it with 71% of his career wins via (T)KO look for him to swarm all over should he get into his favoured top position. This fight comes down to who wants it more, I think that both these men are very similar and they both will want to take it to the mat – It just comes down to tactics, will it be the Submission prowess of "Hermanni" or the swinging hammers of Rocky Mercurius that takes this bout.

185: Moukka Monottaja (7-3-0) v Lasse Kongo (7-1-0)

265+: Miika Laihaila (3-1-0) v "Magic" Mikey Schkelpt (3-2-0)

185: Antonio "Black Russian" Kovalov (10-4-1) v Jesse Jalkalukko (7-6-0)

185: Oiva Tuominen (12-11-0) v Hans Lippencot (10-8-0)

265: Donnie "the skunk" Badge (7-6-0) v Seamus McDonald (2-2-0)

265: Cam "little king" Gatesy (1-1-0) v Rike "Lisko" McMylly (6-4-0)

Cf.61: Warrior Spirit Preview

155: Main Event: Wangjannoi Payakaroon (9-0-0) v Sulevi Sammalharju (9-6-0)

Undefeated Crashforce Lightweight Champion, Wangjannoi Payakaroon will be making his fifth title defence in the Main Event of Crashforce 61 'Warrior Spirit'. Hailing from Phayao, Thailand this Wonderful Muay Thai striker has made a spectacular start to his career, winning 33% of his career wins thus far via violent stoppage. Payakaroon is a dangerous striker, his Boxing is also at Superb level and he'll have no problem with standing in the pocket and taking this fight to his opponent tonight Sulevi Sammalharju. At just 22 years of age the Lightweight Champion is truly one of the best prospects in Helsinki MMA and he'll look to extend his superb winning streak here as he takes his aggressive striking game and just asks his opponents to see if they can handle it. Obviously nobody has been able to thus far, across the cage Friday Night will be Sulevi Sammalharju, who has won his last three via Decision to elevate him into title contention. Sammalharju is the more experienced fighter, and he also seems to be the more rounded fighter on paper because he also boasts Exceptional Wrestling and Brown grade BJJ to compliment a Sensational Boxing and Exceptional Muay Thai striking game and he really will be a stern examination of the young Champion. With neither of these fighters on the end of a loss via strikes before, we can anticipate a real battle should this one remain standing – However the challenger is more than capable of taking this one to the mat should he wish to and this Plan B if you will, could well be a tipping point in what seems to be a finely poised encounter. For the best part the Challenger likes to keep fights standing, and he's especially good at inflicting damage in the clinch but will the fact he's taking on a Muay Thai specialist perhaps see him neglect this obvious strength in his game? If the Champion can keep this fight standing he'll fancy his chances, but Sulevi Sammalharju's versatility makes him a real danger because the Champion is not going to really be able to put his all into his strikes for fear of being taken down and you have to feel that goes in the favour of the Champion. However Wangjannoi Payakaroon is not undefeated for no reason, and with 6 of 9 career wins via Decision, he's clearly able to formulate good game plans and more importantly, execute them and he will probably come into this fight as the favourite – However there is no doubt that this will be the toughest examination to date of the young Champion – and if this fight hits the ground it will be fascinating to see how the striking Champion copes. Will both fighters well versed in going the distance I expect this one to be a technical striking affair that lasts the five rounds, however who'll take the gold home - Sulevi Sammalharju will have the crowd support, from Mikkeli, Finland, he'll take any advantage he can get in his quest for the top.

265: Co Main Event: Anderson "Bebeto" Romario (11-4-0) v Juri "Madman" Arpa (8-2-0)

The Co Main Event is the Heavyweight clash between Anderson "Bebeto" Romario and Juri "Madman" Arpa, with both these guys known for their striking prowess this promises to be a feisty affair as Arpa with 87% of his career wins thus far looks to get himself on a win streak that ultimately would lead him to his shot at gold. Boasting a Wonderful striking game, there is no doubt that "Madman" will want to keep this one standing where he'll believe he's got more than enough in the tank to get past "Bebeto" Romario here at C.f 61. Anderson "Bebeto" Romario has got himself in the positon that Arpa would love to, but he lost when he challenged for the Crashforce Heavyweight Championship way back at C.f 45. Boasting some impressive striking of his own, namely his Remarkable Muay Thai it looks like Romario concedes the striking game in this one and with this bout looking like it's going to be settled on the feet, that's not a good start to his cause. There is no doubt that both these men are tough as teak though, with only two losses via stoppage combined, at one a piece, these two could well put on a hell of a show here and that's something that the fans will be hoping to get here in the Co Main Event. In my estimation however all the signs point to a win for Juri "Madman" Arpa, not only is he the better striker, he's a phenomenal rate of finishes and he comes into this bout with a massive reach advantage – I suspect he'll get the job done here but look for "Bebeto" to ram my words right back down my throat, if he can get a shot in at the much bigger man physically as I think the reach advantage will be key here.

205: Kalle "Kyy" Kolmiokuristus (19-13-0) v Bruce "Dragon" Tree (6-3-0)

Bruce "Dragon" Tree comes into this Light-Heavyweight bout with probably one of the most dangerous all round games in the Crashforce Light-Heavyweight division, boasting Remarkable Boxing and Wrestling, that is outdone by his Sensational Muay Thai and not only that, he knows how to use these dangerous tools boasting an excellent 83% finish rate from his career wins thus far. Not only that but "Dragon" is furthermore backed up by one of the most renowned management teams in MMA and with his recent record of his last two wins resulting in 'KO of the Night' awards – he's one scary prospect to be facing off against, but that is exactly what stands in the way of the seriously experienced Kalle "Kyy" Kolmiokuristus on Friday Night. With Exceptional Wrestling and Black belt BJJ there is no doubt that "Kyy" will want to take this fight to the mat where he has 13 of his 19 career wins via Submission, if he gets the fight to the ground – and that is an if, he is more than half way to victory you feel and with his experience and record, he knows how to do so. Normally I don't like to generalise fights into a grappler versus striker affair, however if you take into account that Kolmiokuristus has lost 46% of his bouts via stoppage due to strikes, I think the necessity for him to get this fight to the mat is certainly something that will be in his mind from the start because "Dragon" will have no problem increasing that percentage should the Finn Kolmiokuristus leave his chin on display too long. Kalle "Kyy" Kolmiokuristus has been around for what seems like an eternity, he's fought twice for the Crashforce Championship, however to no avail and his experience will be crucial here – That being said, if Bruce "Dragon" Tree and his management team can formulate a plan to stop those early takedowns of his opponent and frustrate him and force him to stand, he'll have no problem getting the job done as the experienced Finn tires. This one really does depend on which fighter can assert their tactics, and take control, it's pretty open and shut in my mind, if Kalle "Kyy" Kolmiokuristus gets it to the mat, its over – But if he can't, I don't fancy his chances and every fight starts standing which will be crucial – Also, consider that "Dragon" will have a big reach advantage, which will help him control the space between the fighters, but will also make it easier for his opponent to dip in and take it to the mat if he can get close enough. This one is too close to call to be honest.

185: Uncle Rico (13-8-0) v Lassi Lambada (4-1-0)

Fresh off a 'Fight of the Night' award in his last bout, Uncle Rico will once again bring his Remarkable Wrestling and Wonderful Boxing game to the cage where he will look to show his youthful opponent on Friday Night, Lassi Lambada the virtues of experience and just how vital a tool it is in MMA. With 53% of Rico's career wins via (T)KO he certainly is an aggressive fighter, and that probably is because should he get taken down, he's got dangerous Brown grade BJJ to fall back on and that is something that certainly lets him put his all into shots because he's pretty comfortable grappling when needs must. But don't be fooled, essentially Rico is a Wrestler, he'll be the one looking to take fights to the mat, he loves to take fights to the mat, use his ground and pound, and where things go from there he's happy in the dominant position with his BJJ as a great back up. It will be interesting to see however how Rico's bully boy tactics work against a superior Wrestler as Lassi Lambada boasts Exceptional Wrestling and putting men up against the cage in the clinch, and pretty much beating them up is his tried and tested techniques – something that has brought him all four of his career wins to date via (T)KO. Will Lambada be able to stuff the relentless takedowns of his opponent here? Because if he can keep this fight standing, you have to believe that he'll get the job done from here with his Remarkable Boxing and Strong Muay Thai. This fight essentially comes down to which one of these guys can use his Wrestling to better effect, Lambada is going to want to use it to keep it standing and take the fight into the clinch, whereas it will be exactly the opposite for Rico – It will be interesting to see Rico's tactics however should this fight go into the clinch positon, will he attempt to Wrestler, or will he try and use that Brown grade BJJ to take this fight to the mat by 'hook or crook?'. This one promises to be an interesting affair, and both men will have to think a great deal about this fight and the tactics employed because one mistake will be enough as both these men come to finish – This Middleweight bout could be a contender for 'Fight of the Night'.

155: Brad "The Technician" Ryan (16-12-0) v Osgar "Blunt Force Trauma" MacGregor (10-5-0)

205: Don Cerrone (3-1-0) v Simo Silakka (5-2-0)

265: "No Can Do Black Belt" Ahto Paine (3-1-0) v Sauna Majuri (3-2-0)

155: Ayo "The Knot" Anoy (10-10-0) v Eduardo "Tarantula" Santos (9-2-0)

170: Dean "Mr. Nipple" Fay (4-3-0) v Ray Shifflett (4-4-0)

155: "Sanji" Santi Jimara (3-2-1) v Mika "The Dragon" Soutukorva (5-4-1)

Cf.66: Fury Preview

265: Main Event: Homicidal Maniac (10-5-0) v Juri "Madman" Arpa (9-2-0)

The Main Event of Cf. 66 is the rematch between Heavyweights Homicidal Maniac and Juri "Madman" Arpa, these two met way back at Cf.50 with Maniac taking down the Decision win in the King of Valhalla final. The first bout was a dominating win for Maniac as his relentless Muay Thai kicks simply proved too much for Arpa to handle as shown by the dominant scoring in that bout by the judges as the Decision was read out. Wonderful Muay Thai striker Homicidal Maniac is a former Heavyweight No1 Contender and he'll look to build from his win last time out here by handing down another defeat to "Madman" as he attempts to get his hands on to the title he nearly won last time. His opponent in Juri "Madman" Arpa is a familiar one, but with these two meeting before you have to believe that Arpa will be absolutely determined to gain a degree of revenge here as he is a vastly improved model from the one that took to the cage at Cf.50. Boasting Exceptional Boxing and similar Wonderful Muay Thai – there is no doubt that "Madman" is the better striker on paper, take also into consideration that 88% of his wins have come via Stoppage due to his striking and you really can't look past him in this bout. Coming off the back of two straight stoppage wins, Arpa looks like a formidable task for Maniac which is quite interesting considering just how dominant that win for Maniac was back then. The key to this fight is just how Maniac approaches it; he'll not be allowed to get in as many kicks as the first bout and you have to believe that Arpa is going to come out the aggressor here in an attempt to force Maniac back and as a result, take the sting off those kicks of Maniac. Does Maniac have a backup plan if this materialises? I believe that "Madman" has the motivation, and the talent to see off the challenge of an old foe but with Maniac also boasting a high finish rate due to striking, with 70% of his wins coming via this method. I think that Arpa should win this one, but he certainly must take Maniac serious, because as first bout showed – Maniac knows how to beat Arpa and he'll relish the chance to prove that was no fluke here.

155: Co Main Event: Severi Turpaansaaja (12-4-0) v Taisto "Bad Company" Rakuuna (9-4-1)

The Co Main Event of the Evening is the Lightweight Title Fight between the undefeated in five Severi Turpaansaaja and former title contender Taisto "Bad Company" Rakuuna. Turpaansaaja boasts a very well rounded game and as stated, he's won his last five straight to get a shot at the vacant title against "Bad Company". The 23 year old Finn is a formidable rival for anyone, he can take this fight anywhere and pick up a win and these options and flexibility is a massive plus for him when these two clash on Sunday evening. With Exceptional Boxing and Superb Muay Thai, you have to believe that Rakuuna will want to keep this one standing and with 55% of his career wins coming via Stoppage, he certainly can get the job done if he gets his wish here. But just how will his ranked Remarkable Wrestling hold up against the Exceptional level that Severi Turpaansaaja boasts – And this will really be the key to this one, as I think we are going to see Rakuuna try and use his reach advantage that he will have in this bout to keep it on the outside and try and pick off the man in form. However Turpaansaaja surely won't let his title aspirations be smashed now, and with the belt in sight – That should be enough to drive him to victory here as I think he'll be able to shoot in on his much taller opponent and take him down enough times to get the job done here.

205: Simo Silakka (6-2-0) v Mick "The Mick" Fitzpatrick (8-5-0)

Light-Heavyweight action next with the impressive Simo Silakka back in action here, having won his last six straight, with the most recent four of those via huge highlight reel stoppage this Exceptional Muay Thai striker will look to rack up another impressive win here at the expense of "The Mick". With a two lose streak to start his career, Simo Silakka really has struck back at his doubters in style, and with Wonderful Wrestling and Brown grade BJJ his game is certainly built upon keeping fights standing, however he is more than able to handle himself on the mat should this one go there but Mick "The Mick" Fitzpatrick isn't going to be interested in a grappling game, because this Wonderful Boxer and Superb Muay Thai striker boasts 75% of his career wins via Stoppage and he's going to be the man to stand right in front of the inform Silakka and throw down on Sunday Evening I feel. This bout has the potential to be a seriously entertaining affair, and it's going to be settled with one of these men being finished you have to believe. "The Mick" is the more experienced fighter of the two here, but he has quite an inconsistent career thus far, with two wins usually being followed by two losses, but the good news for Fitzpatrick is that if that form keeps up he is due a win here. But you can't look past Simo Silakka he's really proving himself to be a rising star in the Light-Heavyweight division but "The Mick" is going to give him a real test and if Silakka has believed his own hype and not taken Fitzpatrick seriously – he'll be punished and shocked for his foolhardiness.

155: "Papai" Bondye Viktorye (9-7-0) v Keni "NeoNinja" Susi (13-11-0)

Back in action for the first time since his loss as he challenged for Lightweight gold at Cf.61, "Papai" Bondye Viktorye will attempt to get back on track as he looks to eradicate the (T)KO loss to Wangjannoi Payakaroon out of his system here on Sunday Night. Viktorye is an immensely talented fighter, he's well able of going anywhere the fight should lead and with his career victories to date divided nearly equally between Stoppage and Decision, he certainly knows how to pick his spots to explode and when to play the safe game tactically. Although the 23 year old Brazilian is adept at picking up Decision wins, he's also experienced his fair share of Decision reverses with 5 of 7 career losses coming via this method. On Sunday Night he'll face a man who's had a number of wars in the cage as the vastly experienced Black belt grappler Keni "NeoNinja" Susi lies in wait, boasting 92% of his 13 career wins via Submission, the ground is his realm. There is no doubt that "NeoNinja" is going to want to take this one to the mat and if he gets it there, the odds tip massively in his favour but he too has also experienced his fair share of problems in going the distance, with 10 of 11 career losses coming via this method. This one could well descend into a bitter battle that goes the distance, and it might not be pretty. But there is no doubt that for Keni Susi to win, he must get the fight to the mat and Bondye Viktorye will know this – the stage is set for a game of cat and mouse here.

205: "Mean Mugging" John Malham (7-4-0) v Jussi Viitalainen (6-4-0)

155: Romano "Redz" S (11-6-0) v Numero Cero (2-5-0)

170: Dean "Mr. Nipple" Fay (4-4-0) v Lars "Little Brother" Fightmann (12-8-0)

265: Seamus McDonald (3-2-0) v Anderson "Bebeto" Romario (11-5-0)

265: Jarppi "Grim Grin" Virne (7-9-0) v Rike "Lisko" McMylly (6-5-0)

155: Lukasz "Sokol" Sokolski (2-5-0) v Nomi "Sissy" Mae (6-7-0)

Cf.67: Haunted Preview

170: Main Event: Kalema "Ph" Kirunda (16-8-0) v Rocky Mercurius (9-3-0)

The Main Event of Crashforce 67 is the Welterweight clash between Elite Boxer Kalema "Ph" Kirunda and Sensational Wrestler Rocky Mercurius in a bout that features both these men coming into this bout on the back of some good work recently. Kalema Kirunda is a two time challenger for Crashforce gold, but unfortunately for him he was thwarted on both attempts to climb the mountain. Despite having some serious striking, as stated his Boxing is Elite but not only that he also boasts Exceptional Wrestling – Kirunda is more known for his ability to go the distance rather than finishing bouts with 11 of his 16 career wins coming via Decision and you have to think that he'll look to use his vast cage experience advantage over his opponent Friday Night as the bout unfolds. With Exceptional Wrestling "Ph" will want to use this to keep the fight standing, not only to utilise his superior striking, but he also seems at his weakest whilst grappling with 50% of his career losses coming via Submission and with Mercurius holding Sensational Wrestling and Brown grade BJJ there is no doubt that for "Ph" to win, he's going to have to avoid getting involved in a grappling affair with his opponent. On the back of three straight Decision wins, Rocky Mercurius has something in coming with his foe Friday Night, he too has failed on his two attempts to lift the Crashforce gold. Both these men have the pedigree and to get another shot they are going to have to go through each other here in a fight that will be decided on the key issue of Kirunda being able to keep this fight standing. Rocky Mercurius does have the better grappling and he most likely will want to get it to the mat at some stage because this seems to be his quickest route to victory, however he is by no means a slouch on his feet and his Exceptional Boxing and Wonderful Muay Thai will certainly offer his opponent a lot to think about as he'll be able to set up his takedowns a lot more convincingly with his own solid stand up game. And I think that point may well swing this fight for Mercurius because he certainly looks to have a lot more tools than his opponent to win this bout and I think that will manifest itself during the course of this bout as these two look set to go the distance considering their track records to date – But Kalema "Ph" Kirunda has been around a very long time, don't think that this crafty veteran is going to just be walked over, and he could yet spring a surprise here because you don't get the amount of Decision wins he's had without having something about you.

265: Co Main Event: Carter "The Lion" Potter (19-8-0) v Tom "clASSic" Byron (11-8-0)

Heavyweight action in the Co Main Event now as we have Carter "The Lion" Potter in action, Potter has had a career surrounded by Gold and 'Of the Night' awards, and with only one loss in his last five he looks to be making another run at gold this time in Crashforce. Potter holds a respectable record of 63% of his career wins coming via Stoppage and his Exceptional Boxing and Superb Muay Thai is simply devastating as he has shown in the cage time and time again. "The Lion" is one of the most popular fighters in Crashforce, because win or lose, he's going to bring the fight and the fans appreciate what he is all about. But Carter "The Lion" Potter has a big question to answer now, he's got the titles, had the awards, does he still want it? That is the key in this fight for him because there is no doubt he's got the striking to affect anyone but you have to wonder just how much is left in this 30 year old New Zealander to achieve and that could be shown in this bout as he takes on the young and hungry Tom "clASSic" Byron on Friday Night. Byron is a Sensational Wrestler and he'll like nothing more than to take down Potter and really put him away, with 11 of 11 career wins coming via Stoppage he is more than capable of doing it – And not only that, but Byron is a Superb striker, and as shown, especially at Crashforce 48 he is more than capable of ending a fight standing himself but it remains to be seen if he'll want to throw down with a man as experienced and superior, on paper anyway at his own game here. The one thing for sure in this fight is this, both these men come to fight and come to finish – I don't think this fight as the legs in it to go the distance and a lot will be decided on just how Byron approaches this one, if he shoots too early on "The Lion" he'll wear himself out and the wily veteran will know that he's going to want to take him down – so I suspect he'll have a plan in place for this. This fight looks set to be one of the most entertaining of the night and one of these two is nearly certainly going to leave the cage unconscious.

185: Smooth "THE DEVASTATOR" Operator (8-4-0) v Uncle Rico (14-8-0)

Smooth "THE DEVASTATOR" Operator comes to the cage with two 'KO of the Night' and 'Fight of the Night' awards to his name, and this Sensational Boxer also has won 6 of 8 career bouts via Stoppage and he's a formidable force for anyone at Middleweight in Crashforce due to his dangerous striking and aggression. There is no doubt that he's got the ability to blitz anyone and his unpredictability is not only his strength, but his weakness too because you simply cannot predict what this menace is going to do, and as shown with 2 of his 4 career defeats via stoppage, he does leave himself open too. But we do know that he cannot be taken lightly, he's got a killer instinct you can't teach and this fact makes him all the more dangerous for anyone he steps in the cage with. Uncle Rico faces off against him on Friday Night and it will be interesting to see how Rico approaches this fight considering he's never been stopped in his career via strikes to date. Rico is the more experienced fighter here, and with Wonderful Boxing and Remarkable Wrestling, he's certainly got the tools to overcome "THE DEVASTATOR" with 57% of his career wins coming via Stoppage as well. I think that Rico will play this one safe though; I don't think that he'll want to take too many shots on his way in and out of the takedown and it's a safe bet to think he'll want to counter the aggressive Smooth Operator into it. Rico also holds Brown grade BJJ and there is no doubt should he take this fight to the mat his chances of winning multiply considerably and that's how I see this bout playing out as Rico will frustrate the dangerous Smooth Operator and could well finish this one up via putting the heat on with his ground and pound.

185: "WorkHorse" Pointon Slavey (11-8-0) v Sami Svensson (4-1-0)

Exceptional Boxer, "WorkHorse" Pointon Slavey with his formidable record of 81% career wins via Stoppage comes to the cage here at Crashforce 67 'Haunted', and this 28 year old Londoner will look to bounce back after suffering a defeat last time out to another combatant in action tonight, Smooth Operator. "WorkHorse" is a striker, he'll want to keep the fight standing and he has his fair share of fans too with his all action style, with 3 'Fight of the Night' and 1 'KO of the Night' awards under his belt too he's another man that rarely puts on a damp squib – But he does seem to have some problems the longer fights go on, and with 62% of his career losses coming by way of Decision – This certainly is a weakness that others have exploited and benefitted from. Sami Svensson is his opponent Friday Night, and despite being in the infant stages of his career he's taken on a big challenge here. Boasting Exceptional Boxing and Respectable Muay Thai – He's won 3 of 4 career wins via Stoppage but he did lose last time out, ironically via Decision but I don't think that either man has to worry about going the distance here – Both these men are going to keep this one standing and we're going to see just who has the stronger will to win. "WorkHorse" should be considered the favourite here by virtue of experience, but Sami Svensson is arguably his superior in the striking game and he'll relish the chance to claim what would be a massive scalp here for him with absolutely no pressure on him whatsoever.

155: Brad "The Technician" Ryan (16-13-0) v Colt Riley (7-1-0)

155: "Sanji" Santi Jimara (4-2-1) v "El Toroo" Eskobar Andersson (8-4-0)

265: James "The Mauler" McQueen (11-8-0) v "Uncle Buck" John Candy (11-5-0)

155: Ayo "The Knot" Anoy (10-11-0) v "The Cowboy" Rolls Romo (12-7-0)

265: "No Can Do Black Belt" Ahto Paine (4-1-0) v Dwayne Johnson (10-4-0)

265: Heikki "Mahti" Mela (6-11-0) v "The Half Naked Man!" Mr Stigu (8-7-0)

Cf.68: Red Storm Preview

265: Main Event: Pekka "Punasolusprinkleri" Lipponen (13-2-0) v Jonny "The Angel" Victorio (11-3-0)

The Main Event of Crashforce 68 'Red Storm' is the meeting between Heavyweight Champion Pekka "Punasolusprinkleri" Lipponen who is undefeated in ten straight fights, who defends Friday Night against the Challenger Jonny "The Angel" Victorio himself on a run of four straight wins, all via stoppage. With 72% of his career wins coming by way of (T)KO, "The Angel" represents a very real, and very dangerous threat to the Champion, as stated he's no stranger to finishing a fight but it's how he finishes fights that are most notable, he is extremely well rounded and he can take this fight anywhere and get a win. In fourteen career bouts, win or lose he's only been to a Decision twice and that is something that will absolutely be noted by the Champion for both his threat, and perhaps weakness I am sure. Boasting Exceptional Boxing and Superb Muay Thai Victorio is most dangerous on his feet, he loves to clinch up and is very dangerous once he's got that position but what makes his stand-up even more dangerous is that he can throw his all into his strikes, he's got a superb ground game and his Brown grade BJJ is not just for show with 2 of his 11 career wins coming by way of Submission including a recent win at C.f. 58 so he'll not be afraid should he get countered into a takedown whilst swinging. But the Champion is a grappler, I think we'll see the Challenger perhaps want to keep this fight standing aslong as possible because "Punasolusprinkleri" is an Exceptional Wrestler and Black belt to boot – he knows how to get the job done for sure on the mat and it will be interesting to see just who can assert their domination in this respect. The Champion has the weaker stand-up of the two on paper, but that by no means he's foreign to the striking game with his Wonderful Boxing and Superb Muay Thai. With seven of his last ten straight wins via stoppage, I think we are in for an absolute treat here, both these men are going to look to put this one beyond doubt and for me the key aspect of this bout is can Jonny "The Angel" Victorio keep the fight standing long enough where he'll really feel he's at his strongest? There is very little between these two physically, the Challenger will have a slight reach advantage, but nothing that he could really plan this fight around and this fight will come down to tactics. I think that the Champion will really want to take this fight to the ground and work over Victorio and see just how good his grappling is, but there is no doubt that "The Angel" will want to stand, the Champion's only defeats have come via (T)KO due to Cuts – and there maybe something in there for the Challenger to test the will of the Champion should he manage to draw blood early with his precision striking. This is poised to be the 'Fight of the Night' and I don't see this one going the distance at all, miss this one at your peril.

205: Co Main Event: "Mighty" Mike Mackey (11-4-1) v Roland "Project G" Box (11-2-0)

Another title on the line in the Co Main Event of the Evening as Light-Heavyweight Champion "Mighty" Mike Mackey defends his title for the fifth time Friday Night against a familiar foe in Roland "Project G" Box. These two met at C.f. 54 with Mackey taking the Decision win and retaining his then, recently won title. In that fight "Mighty" was very busy, he was very impressive with his stand up and mixed it up well to take the fight to the mat too in order to secure some rounds that were perhaps in the balance whereas Box struggled to get anything off over the course of the five rounds that night. The Champion is one of the best rounded fighters in Crashforce without a doubt, boasting Sensational Boxing to the fore, 81% of his career wins have come via (T)KO and last time out, he very impressively took less than one round to beat up Odin Fredriksson's face so badly that the fight was stopped by the Doctor due to the severity of the cuts inflicted showing just how dangerous this man is should you let him loosen up and go to town. Since coming to Crashforce and changing to Helsinki, the Champion has remained undefeated (five straight) and he really looks at home in Europe and you know he'll be happy to keep that record going here on Friday Night. You wonder though just how he'll approach the bout with "Project G" having already beaten him once and that will be one of the more tricky aspects to this fight for the Champion I believe because the Challenger will know what to expect, however Roland Box will have some surprises up his sleeve which arguably leaves him with an advantage coming into this bout. "Project G" has won two straight since the loss to the Champion, and with his Exceptional Wrestling and Brown grade BJJ I think we might well see him try and take this fight to the ground a lot more than he attempted during the course of the first bout in which he was happy to stand and trade whilst Mike Mackey was the more active with his grappling. With Wonderful Boxing and Remarkable Muay Thai, he's no slouch standing either and his supremely impressive disposal of Kalle Kolmiokuristus at C.f. 42 will always serve as a reminder of just what he's capable of should you not take him seriously in this respect. These two guys could take this fight absolutely anywhere, it's extremely hard to predict what way this one will go however I think that the Champion must come in as the favourite due to his recent win over Box, for "Project G" this fight will be about revenge, and if he approaches this one correctly he's more than capable of winning but this fight comes down to the tactics of both men, and we could well see a five round war again here.

265+: Shatei "The Boulder" Yoshida (5-0-0) v Sauna Majuri (4-3-0)

Shatei "The Boulder" Yoshida comes into this Super-Heavyweight bout on the back of five straight wins, undefeated thus far in his career this Wonderful Wrestler has taken everyone down he's fought thus far and had the fight stopped due to his intensive ground and pound leading to five straight (T)KO wins. This Japanese Super-Heavyweight has really exploded onto the scene, and the talk is he could really drop down to Heavyweight where he would be an absolute monster – if that happens in future, don't be surprised, but for now he faces off against Sauna Majuri who represents a very real threat himself with all of his career wins coming via Stoppage too. With Remarkable Boxing and Strong Muay Thai he is a striker, and that will be both a problem, and a help for the undefeated Yoshida as he undoubtedly will look to counter into the takedown – but boasting Superb Wrestling of his own, Majuri might prove a tough nut for "The Boulder" to crack. I think this will be the biggest test thus far in the short career of Yoshida, but I am backing him to come through this one, he'll have to be very cautious, but if he can avoid the initial onslaught of Sauna Majuri this fight is certainly winnable for the young man from Nagasaki as long as he can negotiate what will be an absolutely massive reach advantage for Sauna Majuri – If he comes into this fight in the right frame of mind, and the right tactics – He can literally jab his way to a massive win here without having to commit too much, will that be how this one plays out? Yoshida is the favourite in my eyes, but don't be surprised if he finds himself stuck on the outside taking punishment for the duration of this Super-Heavyweight bout.

205: Bob "Razor Sharp" Stroker (17-5-0) v Bruce "Dragon" Tree (6-4-0)

Bruce "Dragon" Tree makes a big step up in competition here as he takes on Bob "Razor Sharp" Stroker in this Light-Heavyweight clash. A Sensational Muay Thai striker, with 5 of 6 career wins via Stoppage "Dragon" certainly is strongest whilst keeping a fight standing, but his last bout against Kalle Kolmiokuristus as C.f 61 summed up his weakness better than I can with his inability to keep fights standing and this has been his downfall more often than not. This might not be such a problem in this bout however as he faces off against Exceptional Boxer and equally Sensational Muay Thai striker Bob Stroker in a bout that has knock out written all over it. I think we are going to see an absolute war here in this one, and with a massive reach advantage Bruce "Dragon" Tree will he keep this one on the outside and try and pick off his more experienced opponent? "Dragon" has also never been finished via Strikes, and this might well have him come out swinging in a bout that is going to be absolutely explosive. It remains to be seen if "Razor Sharp" will be able to get round the reach advantage of his opponent but with more career wins than "Dragon" has had combined it must be assumed that he'll be able to get round this task and pick up a win here. Bruce Tree will relish being an underdog here and he's absolutely got nothing to lose here. With both men coming into this bout coming off losses there is no doubt that this one could well descend into a gutter brawl and the Crashforce fans will be hoping that is the case here as we anticipate a war at Light-Heavyweight here.

170: Gunnbjorn Ulfsson (9-3-0) v Mercutio Benvolio (8-6-0)

170: Alan Mecier (5-2-0) v Keke "Hammer" Pummel (4-3-0)

185: Antonio "Black Russian" Kovalov (11-5-1) v Tj Beckerman (7-3-0)

155: Matt "Myllyttäjä" Mylly (10-11-0) v Numero Cero (2-5-0)

205: "The Terminator" Gaz Passmoor (10-9-0) v Don Cerrone (3-2-0)

Cf.70: One Shot Preview

By Martin O'Neill

265: Main Event: Pekka "Punasolusprinkleri" Lipponen (13-3-0) v Carter "The Lion" Potter (20-8-0)

The Main Event of Crashforce 70, 'One Shot' is the Heavyweight bout between Pekka "Punasolusprinkleri" Lipponen and Carter "The Lion" Potter, two vastly experienced fighters and this will also be Lipponen's first bout back in the cage since losing the Heavyweight title back at Crashforce 68. That was his first defeat in eleven bouts, he lost via Strikes in less than 30 seconds and the biggest factor Saturday Night for him will perhaps be the memory of that loss. A Black belt BJJ grappler and Exceptional Wrestler, the Finn boasts his wins from a variety of methods, but there is no doubt he's most dangerous on the mat and that will be something he'll want to emphasise here at Crashforce 70. But he can also Strike, his win at Crashforce 63 all started with knocking down Keijo Richards before forcing the referee to stop that one rendering him the winner via (T)KO after just 3:04 in Round 1 so he'll be confident in his stand up too and he is one of those high level grapplers who can also stand and bang with real confidence if needs be which makes him a very dangerous proposition for Carter "The Lion" Potter. "The Lion" is vastly experienced, he's been around a very long time and this 30 year old New Zealander boasting Exceptional Boxing and Remarkable Muay Thai will obviously be looking to keep this fight standing where his record of 60% of his wins via (T)KO speaks for itself. However a worry for him will be the fact that he does appear weak on the mat, he's been Submitted twice in recent memory and he won't want to go to the ground even for a second with such a dangerous grappler as "Punasolusprinkleri". Coming into this bout on the back of two straight wins will certainly give the New Zealander confidence but he knows he must keep this fight standing to have any chance – Will his Remarkable Wrestler however hold up against the stern examination that he is about to get? That will be the key to this fight; if "The Lion" can't keep this fight standing he doesn't really look to have too many options and he will be desperate to stop this from becoming reality. Potter will hold a slight reach advantage in this bout, and how he uses this will be crucial, I expect him to try and keep this fight on the outside with it and not to let Lipponen close to him – If he can do that his chances of winning increase by quite a bit but that is looking like a big ask for him because Lipponen just looks too dangerous from all areas for me now to get the job done here.

265: Co Main Event: Juri "Madman" Arpa (10-2-0) v "Humble" Joshua Drake (18-5-0)

The Co Main Event of the Evening is another Heavyweight bout and one that features one of the hottest properties in Crashforce right now with Juri "Madman" Arpa back in action coming into this bout on the back of three straight finishes due to Strikes and has really propelled him into the big time here in the company. An Exceptional Boxer and Wonderful Thai striker, he has 9 of his 10 career wins due to these two skills and this man is one of the most dangerous strikers in Helsinki, let alone just Crashforce, The Gabonese National will also come into this bout with a large reach advantage and I have to believe that he'll be confident in knocking up another Stoppage win here as he takes on "Humble" Joshua Drake who will come into the cage Saturday as the more experienced of the two men. Drake however is no slouch on his feet himself, he holds arguably superior striking in fact with his Sensational Boxing and Remarkable Muay Thai and he comes into this bout on the back of four straight wins, with three of those coming by way of his Striking and I think the stage is set for an absolute war between two of the hardest hitters in Crashforce's Heavyweight division. "Humble" will be making his debut in the organisation, but he comes into Crashforce with a reputation as a reckless striker, he does have 4 of his 5 career losses due to (T)KO and he does leave himself open, so just how will that work out against the brilliance of Juri "Madman" Arpa who by contrast only has one defeat via the same method? This is going to be an intriguing encounter, just how will the more experienced fighter go about taking down the reach advantage of his opponent? And he knows if he swings wildly he can be finished at any time because "Madman" is a predator, pure and simple. And it is for that reason that I believe he will pick up the win here because his power is just overwhelming, sooner or later I think he'll connect and with a career littered with Round 1 wins, don't be surprised if he gets another here.

155: Severi Turpaansaaja (13-4-0) v "Papai" Bondye Viktorye (10-7-0)

The Lightweight Championship of Crashforce is on the line here as Severi Turpaansaaja, undefeated in six defends his title recently won at Crashforce 66 for the first time against "Papai" Bondye Viktorye one of the most individually talented fighters probably on the roster. Interestingly, Viktorye the Brazilian is not long off a title shot, he was defeated by Wangjannoi Payakaroon at Crashforce 61 via (T)KO. He got back on track shortly after with a Decision win at Crashforce 66, and he will present a unique challenge to the Champion for sure especially with his recent maturity being shown by his last four victories all via Decision to add the finishing power he showed he was capable of at the start of his career. Interestingly, these two have met before, with Severi Turpaansaaja taking down a close Decision win back at Crashforce 43. In that bout "Papai" was unable to stop the takedowns of his opponent and it was the top control that really won that fight back then for the Champion, although both these fighters have moved in and improved massively since then, I think we can expect a similar kind of battle with the Champion looking to use his Exceptional Wrestling again to the fore much like he did last time out as he pounded out Taisto Rakuuna to win the Lightweight Championship. Bondye Viktorye will hold a reach advantage in this bout, and he'll probably want to keep this fight standing, boasting Sensational Boxing and Exceptional Thai Striking, he will really feel he's got the edge here but again, he must be careful to pick his shots and not force it because the Champion's takedowns are really relentless and more often than not when he shoots, he scores with the takedown. This fight I believe will be a real tactical battle with both men I expect to play it really cautious, and the key to the bout is undoubtedly over the issue of keeping it standing, whilst Viktorye is a Brown grade BJJ grappler, he's got no Submission wins to his name and I don't think that Severi Turpaansaaja will be worried by that statistic one bit, and considering that's how he won the first bout, expect him to take this to the mat and grind out a win here.

185: Liu Bei (9-6-0) v "The Pole" Mike Horner (11-5-0)

An interesting Middleweight bout ahead here, with Liu Bei and his noted Sensational Boxing, taking on "The Pole" Mike Horner boasting a very similar Boxing level. Both these men have had very inconsistent careers however the big difference between the two is the fact that Liu Bei can point to the mat that he's won 7 of his 9 career wins via Stoppage and there is no doubt he can get the job done should he be allowed to work his Striking in this bout, whilst his opponent has 7 of 11 career wins via Decision as this is a fighter who really knows his way around the cage and how to grind out results. I think that either this fight will be ended early by Liu Bei, or we can expect "The Pole" to take this one to the distance and it will be really intriguing to see just how both these men come out to approach this one. Both are very skilled fighters, but they do like to keep it standing and this one could be a contender for 'Fight of the Night' as both fighters will feel this one is very winnable I believe. Liu Bei will hold a very slight reach advantage, but I don't think he'll be able to concoct a winning game plan around it and with no reach to hide between, and two Strikers going at it – We can expect fireworks in this Middleweight bout. I would put my money on Liu Bei, he always comes to fight and that might well get him through this one – It will be interesting to see just how Horner copes with the undoubted power of his opponent.

265+: Sauna Majuri (5-3-0) v "No Can Do Black Belt" Ahto Paine (4-2-0)

265+: Hord Hirmuinen (5-2-0) v "Magic" Mikey Schkelpt (4-3-0)

155: Geraldo "couch potato" Higgins (5-4-0) v "El Toroo" Eskobar Andersson (8-5-0)

185: Sami Svensson (4-2-0) v Arvo Pentti (1-0-0)

265: Donnie "the skunk" Badge (7-8-0) v Jarppi "Grim Grin" Virne (7-10-0)

Cf.80: Gladiators Preview by Kurt Hustle

On the 9th of December Crashforce invades the 6000 seat Kamppi Arena for Cf.80: Gladiators and what an event they have set up for the fans to enjoy, 10 fights are on the card with the main event being for the big one, the Heavyweight Title! So without further stalling lets get on with the fights starting at the bottom of the card and moving our way up to the Main Event…

155lbs:

Geraldo "couch potato" Higgins (5-6-0) vs. "Black" Jack Fargloom (2-1-0)

The night begins at Lightweight where there will be two fighters looking to get back on the winning trail. Higgins has hit very hard times at the moment but he is still a very dangerous ground expert given his Brown belt in BJJ and the fact he has submitted four of his opponents out of his five wins. Fargloom will be looking to stand and bang for this one, he has the better Boxing and if he's smart will use his Sensational Wrestling to keep this one upright as a ground battle will see him in all sorts of trouble given his limited Blue belt. With both men coming off losses they will both want to get back to their former winning ways so both have incentive to go out and perform here which should lead to a good fight.

265lbs:

"Uncle Buck" John Candy (13-6-0) vs. Jarppi "Grim Grin" Virne (9-10-0)

Heavyweights up next as one of my old fighters Candy looks to put a loss behind him and bounce back but he will have to be wary of Virne who is coming in off the back of 2 straight wins. Candy has a decent advantage in Boxing and a slight Wrestling advantage over Virne but upsets happen all the time on Tycoon so I wouldn't pay too much attention to differences that are not huge on the surface. As I write this Candy has practically no moral which if it isn't addressed could prove a tipping point against him, this one looks like it may be settled as much in the heads of the fighters as it will be with their fists.

265lbs:

James "The Mauler" McQueen (11-11-0) vs. Dwayne Johnson (13-5-0)

Staying at Heavyweight for the next bout this one is shaping up to be very even. Both have the same Boxing level as well as equal Wrestling, but McQueen has a little advantage in both Muay Thai and BJJ. A concern for McQueen however is he has been (T)KO'ed 11 times in his career (and has lost his last 3 fights) and he is facing an opponent who has finished all but two of his wins via (T)KO and won his last two in a row. Don't get fooled into thinking this one is a foregone conclusion however, McQueen is good with his hands and can end a fight as he has shown in the past, should be a good old stand and bang brawl for sure unless someone throws a surprise takedown in there!

170lbs:

Kalema "Ph" Kirunda (16-10-0) vs. Mercutio Benvolio (9-7-0)

Down to Welterweight for the next bout which see's two more fighters coming off a loss square off for a chance to get themselves back on the winning path and move up the title rankings. Title rankings is something that Benvolio knows about his last fight was for the belt but he was unable to take it and will want to win his to try and get another shot. Kirunda is a tough opponent however, he has World Class Boxing and excellent Muay Thai and Wrestling meaning he has several ways to win a fight and is always dangerous to battle anywhere in the cage. Benvolio himself is no slouch at the fight game and will likely be looking to use his World Class Muay Thai to score a win here. Which ever way it goes expect fireworks from both guys!

185lbs:

Smooth "THE DEVASTATOR" Operator (10-5-0) vs. Unkind "Mixed Martial" Artist (5-2-1)

Middleweight division makes it first appearance next as two evenly matched fighters square off. Operator is on a high after a few wins while Artist is coming off a tough split decision loss but that should only serve to motivate him for this one. Operator has made a reputation for himself as a finisher of fights using his World Class Boxing to good effect in the past while Artist despite his World Class Muay Thai has struggled to finish fights, his wins mostly coming via the judges, but this is still anyone's to take! Artist has a slight advantage on the ground but with their even Wrestling and the fact both men prefer to stand that is unlikely to play into the result much. Keep an eye out for this fight is my advice.

205lbs:

Rodney Holmes (9-3-0) vs. Bob "Razor Sharp" Stroker (18-6-0)

These guys are two Light Heavyweights who started their careers like a house on fire but have had a few little setbacks in more recent times and will want to win this fight to reignite their fight careers. Stroker has a good few years age wise on his opponent and a lot more cage time under his belt but looking at their stats this is tough to call. Stroker has World Class Muay Thai but is no weakling when it comes to Boxing, Wrestling or BJJ either! He is a very well rounded fighter who should command a lot of respect in the cage. Holmes too deserves a lot of respect in the cage, he has World Class Boxing as well as excellent Muay Thai, Wrestling and BJJ so this one is looking like it may well come down to who has the better game plan on the night and that has a lot of variable to it, far too many for me to try and put down anyway. One thing I will say however is that Stoker has been TKO'ed 3 times in the past 2 of which came via Cuts which may play a part in this one while Holmes has only ever lost via the judges so he may have a slight advantage in that respect but with so even stats this is anyone's to win.

265lbs:

Anderson "Mantequilla" Romario (14-6-0) vs. Chris "Wizard of Oz" Adebisi (9-3-0)

Another Heavyweight battle and another Boxing vs. Muay Thai line up from the looks of things. Adebisi is a Boxer and has used his hands to devastating effect in his career thus far, finishing six of his last eight wins via either TKO or KO while Romario has been winning his fights via the Clinch which he really know show to use to full effect and that is something that Abebisi needs to watch out for given his own very weak Muay Thai skills. I can't see this one going down due to both fighters only having Blue belts in BJJ and the evenness of their Wrestling which is mainly used for defense, so with it likely to be contested on the feet I would probably say that Romario has a slight advantage given his Clinch skills but unless he does something about his very low moral it may have a huge effect on him when he steps in the cage. Boxing vs. Muay Thai is always fun to watch and these two are masters of their crafts making the fight hard to call and very exciting for the fans and if someone actually adds a little ground game into their game plan this one could be up fighting for fight of the night.

265lbs:

Keijo Richards (12-8-0) vs. Juri "Madman" Arpa (10-4-0)

Staying at Heavyweight we have another fight that on paper is too hard to call! Both fighters have lost their last 2 fights and will be going all out for the win here to get back to their old winning ways but looking at their respective skills its hard to pick a difference maker. Both fighters have excellent Boxing and have used it to score plenty of wins between them although Arpa has recently added some Head Kick KO's to his record so that may tip the fight in his favor slightly if he can get that Muay Thai working and add some kicks to his punching. Richards knows how to grapple on the ground however and if he decides to use his superior BJJ in this fight he, rather then his opponent may well have the advantage. Like I said these are so evenly matched its almost impossible to separate them on paper. With both fighters having excellent Boxing and possible suspect chins, after all they have both been finished several times in the past via strikes and outright KO'ed with a Punch or two, this could go either way, with there being only one thing to be sure of, its going to be a hell of a fight to watch!

170lbs:

Seppo "Ninja!" Rovanpera (20-5-0) vs. "The Future" Arturo Gatti III (18-2-0)

Two Welterweights make their way to Crashforce for a superfight in this Co-Main Event of the night and what fighters they are! The only stat separating these two beasts is their BJJ, Rovanpera has a slight advantage there with his Brown belt out classing Gatti III's Purple but as far as Boxing, Muay Thai and Wrestling its all even making this one so exciting you may well wet yourself. Rovanpera comes in bringing the 'ACME - MKFC:Revolution' Welterweight belt with him which shows that he knows how to handle big pressure fights but he is against an opponent in Gatti III who has yet to be stopped inside the distance and has held titles himself in the past. Rovanpera comes in off the back of seven fight win streak while Gatti III lost his last time out but that may well just add more incentive to him to get back on the winning trail and despite his winning streak a worry for Rovanpera and a source of hope for Gatti III will be Rovanpera's chin, he has been KO'ed twice and TKO'ed twice and facing an opponent with World Class Boxing who has shown he can finish fights at any time with his hands. If this one goes to Clinch both fighters have shown they are capable of imposing themselves there too so once again I can't separate them. Everything about this fight screams fight of the night contender and the result is anyone's guess, but the true winners are going to be those in attendance you have to feel.

Main Event: 265lbs Title Fight

Jonny "The Angel" Victorio (13-3-0) (Champ) vs. Pekka "Punasolusprinkleri" Lipponen (14-3-0)

Main-Event of the night comes in the form of a Title fight for the Heavyweight belt, and not just any title fight but a rematch! These two first clashed at Cf.68: Red Storm where Victorio took the title from Lipponen in a fight that lasted just 28 seconds! Obviously he will be looking to do that again and show why he is ranked as the top Heavyweight in the division and a champion but I'm sure that Lipponen will have something to say about that. Lipponen really needs this on the ground, he has a Black belt in BJJ compared with his opponents Brown belt and he has submitted a few people in the past, if this one stays on the feet there will be a big red danger sign for Lipponen as Victorio has World Class Boxing and has shown he can take out this challenger in double quick time. Wrestling is the key here it looks like and while Lipponen is slightly better in that regard Victorio has the advantage that all fights start on the feet and he knows that his best chance of loosing comes on the ground so his opponent will be looking for the takedown meaning he can plan for that and watch out. All this doesn't mean that Lipponen won't look to stand for a while, he is no slouch on the feet and has good Boxing that he has used to finish a few fights with but in the back of his mind will be that devastating loss the last time these two met but as someone once again, you learn more from a loss then a victory and Lipponen is looking for revenge and to regain what he see's as rightfully his but has he learned from that first fight? We shall all see come fight time!
