fixing free agents

what does that even mean?

What he means is that for the richest players, they have nothing to really spend the money on in the game, so by turning the FA market into an Auction House of sorts instead, they will be able to spend their money in order to get the best FA's on the market instead of the current system. Not a fan of the idea personally.

Yes. Free Agents would go to the highest bidder. It would be more fair to disperse free agents this way than to simply go by rank.

Rank shits on new players like none other

not necessarily. saw a new player the other day who after only 4 fights was in top 500

"It would be more fair"

In what way is "most money wins" a fair way of doing it? And if you wanna play the "new player" card, they will still be back of the queue since they won't have much money to be bidding with.

There are much better suggestions around the forums for money sinkholes than this one if you really want a way to spend your cash.

Nope. You guys are wrong. Rank shits on new players the maximum way possible.

But once ppl start sinking a lot of money into free agents then they begin to become a little less likely to bid. So the FA's fall further down the board.

Then win those really good free agents hit the board and run up million dollar price tags. That's when the money really starts to flow out of the game.

In the end it's all about giving money a purpose inside the game and fixing the in game economy.

Edit: Pbr I do see your point a little bit. You can always rise up the ranks. But honestly just having a lottery would be the fairest way. You pick a number between 1 and 1000. Then the game assigns the fighter to the closest one.

I like that you are trying to come up with improvements, but this wouldn't be an improvement at all.

YOu basically want to give the rich managers another advantage. I'm not poor and I'm against this idea, that should tell you something already. That it's based on rank is actually nice. Making it a bidding war would make rich managers get all the FA's best guys with literally no chance at all for a good noob who is climbing the ranks to pick one up...

like i pointed out rising up ranks isnt as hard as you are making it out to be. again, one manager had 4 wins all in a non-vip qfc tournament and climbed all the way into the top 500 because of it

You're thinking is very short sighted. Once money started flowing out of the game then rich managers wouldn't be getting all the free agents.

From what I'm seeing all the top ranked managers scoop up the beet free agents. So it's really just a choice between two evils. At least requiring bidding live up to the name of the game. You know, TYCOON.

If It was up to me I would reverse the shit around and lowest ranked manager gets the free agent. What's the problem with that?

that would ruin the career of a lot of fighters with good potiental,

and most top ranked managers pick up those fighters strictly for their $. if their money was limited like in bjorns suggestion post, that would also funnel money out of the game and spread out the fa pickups more

hey he might be onto something here

what if you can bid on a fighter but if you dont have the winning bid you will lose that cash ?

it would stop some of the bidding on fa just to get cash would it not ?

and going by rank only lets the top manager get a shot at the good fa where bidding opens up that chance of others getting a top fa if you are willing to pay more

and all lower bidders lose their bid

sounds like it fits the name mma tycoon to me

lowest ranked VIP manager gets dibs on free agents. How is that then?

That way it encourages ppl to go VIP that may not otherwise. And if a player has gone VIP then he's shown commitment to wanting to play the game long term. So it doesn't ruin the potential of good fighters being picked up by a non returning manager.

And mike could really use that as a selling point to get new managers considering VIP but not sure

And if it were to ever get abused as in ppl buying VIP at the last second to pick up a free agent then it could end up in some serious casholla for mike and the game.

And also ppl complain about ppl picking up free agents just for their money. Well that exploitation under this scenario would seemingly help the ones that need it the worst. The lower ranked players.

In the end it should not be a concept of the guys at the top get all the benefits. The hardest challenge should come with staying at the top. If you are at the top its because you can beat the odds. Not because the odds are stacked in your favor

you cant give it to lowest ranked because its easy to drop in rank. just throw fights.

purposely losing to drop rank and pick up good FA's, i can see that becoming a huge issue.

Thats like saying at a job lets give the promotion to the person who does the least amount of work instead of the person who been busting their ass to earn the perks

I rarely pick free agents,

but I believe there is reason why in professional sport leagues like NHL, MLB, etc weakest teams have priority picks.

thats in a new player draft, not free agents
