pauldengel
What skills would an elite wrestling coach train that wouldn't also need BJJ - Ground and Pound? For a double elite - wrestle/BJJ - transitions, escapes, takedowns, takedown defense leaving a pure jits coach with submissions I've been looking at a ton of private gyms and seems you all do things differently
10thPlanetKT
Takedown Offense & Takedown Defense/Escapes do not need a double elite because it is strictly Wrestling I believe. However if you are training GnP, and defensive grappling it makes more sense to use a double elite to progress BJJ and Wrestling Primary faster. Gator001
escapes is BJJ only, I have never seen a wrestling improvement from escapes only BJJ, DG is wrestling and BJJ just wrestling is GP, TD and TDD
10thPlanetKT
Well I'm spamming escapes with one of my 350+ projects and what is improving is his wrestling not his BJJ. I don't think Escapes is a BJJ skill.
pauldengel
Sounds like escapes I'll have to experiment with - thanks!
Bwang
I’ve always though the only pure wrestling skills are takedowns and takedown defence. Everything else, including escapes and ground and pound, are a wrestling bjj mixture.
