I just read a good article that now one of the most desirable corporate job skills is the ability to communicate effectively, especially face to face. If you get everyone arguing amongst themselves, you can get away with murder. And they have. As time passes, you will see an even more noticeable dumbing down of both rational thinking and critical reasoning. Our language is also under attack. Have you noticed how people are actually typing things like, "ugh" or "uhh", or similar such caveman sounding things? It's by design. Read some of the Huxley works, or any of the Fabianists or Rhodes Scholars. I did notice that his English skills were perfectly fine when talking to his alliance mates in the chatbox, though. You should have stayed in and gone undercover It could have been highly Ninja. The alliance does absolutely nothing, just go there and read it. 3. This is not about weather it is an acceptable contract or not, I have 210 people in the org that think its more than acceptable when your a 0-0 fighter. Other orgs offer 200-200-200 for a 5 fight deal, which one are you taking? It is arguable. This IS about language used with no merit. and Mattyblayze, what is a troll? I just dont think you should be able to talk like that to someone for no good reason, just out of the blue start calling names and using vulgar language. In the USA you can get arrested for acting like that, most likely the other person is gonna punch you in the teeth though. I just dont know why that has to happen to any random person? $5000 base pay and $1000 win bonus for a 1-0 fighter is not bad at all. Sure 9 fights is very long and most people would not be interested, but that is a personal preference call and offering a contract like that is just business and does not merrit anger or vengence. You cant fix it by being macho and fighting them. thats stupid. I faught for SYN, and was the youngest fighter at that time (as far as creation date) and i won against all odds. Does anyone remember? does anyone care? no it does not make a difference. What matters is the future of the game and the future of this demagraphic of males age 18-35. Theres going to be a lot of hostility in this game. I say punish the paul daley's and every other jerk on here that cant control their tongue or their evil intentions. But thats part of what you get when you mastermind a game thats sole purpose is to pit everybody against each other in comerse and in sport. Everyone is meant to wish evil upon each other from the get go. Not a smart idea for a "social" game if you ask me. In order to win everyone NEEDS a facade put up in every single word spoken. so you're AA's daughter?? quick question... are you HOT?? Eveas Posted May 13, 2010 Report Share Posted May 13, 2010 I don't see why people think it is an insulting contract unless AA has a reputation for only scheduling fights every other month. For a 1-0 fighter they are likely to get anywhere between 200/300/400 to 500/1000/1000 on a 3-4 fight deal. Say they got the good deal for 4 fights. They could have been up $16k already with AA's contract. If they managed to be undefeated (which most don't) they might get a better deal in later fights, but since they were grossly over paid in the early fights so making slightly less in later fights is still a net gain. Plus, you can afford to train the fighter in better gyms earlier. Sure, it is a long contract, but the deal is pretty good. No reason to get angry about it. I just want to correct this inaccuracy: In the USA you can't get arrested for anything you say, including that. The First Amendment prevents the government from arresting people for speech. I personally don't use the f bomb when I'm writing online, because unlike real life where it just "comes out" spontaneously, when I'm writing I can control myself. However, I also don't think the person who wrote it should be punished. The First Amendment wouldn't apply even if this game were located in the USA (a private site can do what it wants; the First Amendment only protects people from government action), but I don't think responding to an offer that one could take as a rip-off in an insulting matter should be cause for discipline. While people have pointed out why the offer wasn't necessarily so bad, at least in financial terms, I'd have to know an org very well to tie my fighter up for that long, even if my message would have been more like "Contract WAY too long" or something. I am simply saying that if you act in a fashion that is considered to be "disorderly conduct" you can get a fine and possibly jail time. This specific incident in this thread is not a huge deal to me, but could be to a new player or somebody that has to deal with it multiple times over. In real life it is almost impossible to prove somebody's faults when it comes to their dialog and physical communication, but here there is obvious proof.
