First fight

Gamburyan vs Nunes

Intro notes

Nunes out first. Nothing really to note with the prelims, so don't expect much in the first four or five. Manny our second. I'll be calling Nunes as Nunes and Manny as Manny. TOTT has Nunes with an inch in height. Ref is Steve Mazagatti.

Round 1

THey touch and circle in the center. Manny the one moving forward eats a legkick form nunes and they continue to circle. Manny puts the jab out and blocks a spinning back kick from Nunes. Nunes gets the feints started, then puts out a jab and a follow up leg kiick. Manny sitll the one pushing forward. He backs away from a front kick but eats a leg kick. Nunes feints the kick again and throws it after, glancing on the thigh. Nunes follwos with a feint and throws the leg kick. Manny shots and they wind up in the clinch. Nunes turns him into the cage then Manny turns back, arms locked on a double. A little work on the cage follows and Mannygets him down to full guard against the cage. Many looking to pull Nunes away while Nunes looks for a possible kimura. Manny takes a moment to pass to half and Nunes stands while showing the sub. Manny clinches and they break after a couple seconds and reset in the center of the cage. Manny eats a couple leg kicks befor ethe circle and reset. Nunes in the center throws a front kick that gets blocked. He follows that with a couple of feinted punch and ends with a leg kick. MAnny tries a spinning back fist that well misses with his small stature. He shoots takedown and gets stuffed by Nunes at the 30 second mark. Nunes throws aleg kick and ducks the overhand form manny that follows. Nunes tries a psinning back kick, well taken by Manny. They put feints out and the round ends.

10-9 Nunes. Nothing from the takedown and Nunes had all the striking points.

Round 2

THey touch to start the second. Manny starts as the one moving forward and tries a couple wild hooks that nunes ducks. He pays manny back with a leg kick and the circling continues. Nunes starts to work feints with the hands, keeping manny off the forward moveent. He scores agood punch. Manny pays him back with a good couple of hooks that rock Nunes. Nunes tries to break the lcinch it seems and Manny trips him up and grabs the back for a moment. He switches to a takedown attempt, looks like a double. Nunes fends it off for a moment. He has to grab the cage but is stilll down to a knee so only a warning form the ref. Nunes pulls the leg out and stands, resetting in the center. Nunes starts working the kicks some more. Couple leg kicks and Nunes switches to a punch to the body before he tries another spinning back kick. Manny catches this one and pulls Nunes to teh ground, into half guard. Manny looking for ground and pound, not much scoring though as Nunes has him tied up pretty well Manny continues to up his punch attempt count though, getting a couple in every once in a while. Manny adjusts in half guard and looks to be going for a guillotine. He's not in position as Nunes still has the half guard. Nunes adjusts and gets to the feet and into the clinch. Nunes moves Manny to the cage, each with a respective underhook for the moment. Nunes looks for double underhooks and gets a couple knees in to the body. Manny tries a toss, well missed and Nunes makes him pay with a couple shots to the body and a couple knee attempts to the head before they reset in the center. Nunes on the outside. Manny tries a straight punch that misses and Nunes tries a hook that gets ducked to close the round

Lot closer round, but majority standing means Nunes scored the striking points, means Nunes takes it 10-9. Incompitent judges might see it 10-9 for the early round damage but nunes paid him back and then some.

Round 3

It starts out pretty much the same. Nunes throwing leg kicks and scoring with little offense from Manny. Missed a couple of minutes because tycoon decided to log me out even though I have it set to remember me... anyway... at the 3 minute mark is where I'm at. Nunes scoring leg kicks and Manny finally shoots a takedown. Nunes stuffs, clinches, and turns him into the cage, scoring a good knee ot the body before he backsaway at another manny takedown attempt. Nunes with a half hearted leg kick that cup checks. They halt the action as Manny takes a minute to put the boys back into place. They restart, touching gloves. Nunes throw s head kick and takes a hook. He throws another and dodges the next. A third head kick and Manny wises up, ducks it, and shoots a single. He tripes Nunes up but Nunes uses the cage to stand again to close the round

10-9 Nunes, striking all day an dlittle from Manny. No Idea why he's raising his hands for the little he did the whole fight. My scorecard is 30-27 for Nunes

Brocks a bitch .... just like with pro-wrestling and football ... as soon as he is faced with adversity he runs home.

That's unfair considering the fight he had against Carwin and the struggle with his disease. Brock really gave it his shot and this is the best he could've done.

Really Heatseeker? Really?

Lesnar took a liver kick that would kill lesser men, and he is coming off a surgery that took a foot of his colon.

Really?

Can we put Heatseeker in the cage with Overeem and let Overeem kick and knee him in the liver???

driving home from 141 still...took 6 hours to drive from LA instead of 3.5, so I missed the under/mid card fights. one more hour til I get home...thank god for Sherdog or this drive would be unbearable.

was commenting to the guy next to me that Brock fades mentally when he takes damage. sure enough, after eating some knees from AO, he started to wilt. most people would have wilted also, so not just a Brock thing.

Cerrone got screwed out of round 2 but the decision coulda gone either way.

looking forward to AO vs JDS. if Brock decides to rethink retiring, give him Gonzaga or Kongo. let Mir fight Cain.

Brock stepped into the UFC as a 1-0 MMA novice and fought nothing but the true elite of the Heavyweight division, and more than held his own. Anyone who would call Brock Lesnar a bitch does not know a thing about the sport. He has massive holes in his stand up defence but the guy is as brave as anyone. That comeback agaisnt Carwin will go down as one of the greatest ever, and if he is retiring he should be remembered as someone who made a LOT of people eat their words, and as a legitimate UFC chamion. I have a lot of time for Brock.

The second round was CLOSER but by no means close, Diaz has all three rounds by a large margin. Just ask Cerrone's jaw.

Knockdowns, even non damaging ones, are significant in scoring. I would have given Cerrone that second round.
