Bleakardor
Hey all, I was just curious if anyone could suggest software to design these custom avatars. I can be creative and enjoy learning to use new software, so if there's any that free or cheap that I can get started on doing this, could you please refer me to it? Thank you in advance. Bleakardor
Really? I struggle to get a clean look from pain, but I've haven't spent a whole lot of time working with paint either. I just bought Adobe Photoshop, well, at least did the trial and probably will give it a 1 month go to see if I can pick it up well enough to do what I want. So still open for suggestions for free software, or guides on using Photoshop towards the end of creating avatars. Thank you.

Bleakardor
I get that, I have paint, just not good at getting clear cuts and blends from the tools it has with it.

actionjackson
I've made a few using Photoshop and know a lot of people use it as well. I've heard of others using Gimp but I don't have experience with it. Maybe reach out to some of the avatar masters directly and ask as people are fairly helpful here. Bleakardor
I've started using Photoshop, just didn't want to pay for it. Thank you all for your input.. mostly.. lol
HareRumpler
GIMP. Free and more than suitable for getting the job done. Graphics artist experts who do it for a living with swear by PS of course most likely, but for those a notch below, GIMP is more than satisfactory for most jobs.
