I am good with either way of picking, 1,2,2,2 or the 2,3,2. I do think the 2,3,2 is a bigger edge for the home team, but since we fight all teams twice it really don't make any difference. Both teams will have an edge at some point.

Home: 170 / 265

Away: 265

Home: 265 / 265 // Away: 170 / 170 (can be done at the same time.)

Home picks their ideal first fight at 170 and 265 at well as decides the last 265 fights.

Away would pick the second 265 fight as well as the last 170lbs fighters.

You can say that the away team could pick the last 265 fights if they play smart but the home team has the same option is they pick their 170 fight smart. The only clear advantage is the home team picks the first fights and has +1 pick.

I think 2-3-2 is best! I want to start discussing picks soon so let's pick one!!! I definitely don't think each pick should need to be restricted to wc. Captain should be able to pick whatever fight they want. I'm Conquers captain btw

We'll go with the 2-3-2 system where the Home team makes Picks #1 and #2 and then Away gets #3, #4 and #5, with Home then making #6 and #7 to finish up.

One of the events each round will be held in Amsterdam, which happens at 5pm instead of the 6pm. I will PM each manager competing in Amsterdam each round to make sure they know and don't fly to London by accident.

Edit: Post #3 of this thread now contains the Picking Order for each team. Captains, please notice when you are to make your picks, and you can either PM me your Fight Picks or Post them here.

I understand, home should get an edge. Plus with us all fighting each team twice it really don't matter. It will all even out in the end. I am good with the 2,3,2.

In theory, the draft pick order should allow the home team to make 4 picks and the away 3.

A 2-3-2 will only allow the home team to effectively make 2 picks. 3 if they pick 2 170 fights first.

People should keep in mind that the second last pick for both of the divisions automatically closes the last fight and therefore the last pick is just a formalization. That means that the last pick for both weights are dead picks.

I was just about to post something like this. With a 2-3-2 order its hard to say that the home team really gets an advantage. Its not too important since we all fight each other home and away but if we want the home team to have an advantage 2-3-2 isn't the way to go in my opinion.

You are right I didn't notice that until JLP pointed it out to me earlier. I guess the only real edge is they get the first two fights they want for sure. I still don't like having to pick a weight at a set pick number so I don't know how else to make it better. Maybe every other pick. 1,1,1,1,1,1,1.

But they get to choose who fights who on the last 2 fights.

Unless there's only 1 of each weight class left I understand now

Will if we are fighting each other twice home and away. Just go Home Team #2 away team #2 home team #3

2 -2 -3

I know it's a big advantage but you get the sane when you fight again. Home sides usually do have big advantage.

After looking through to see how to make this a more "fair" process in terms of Home Advantage, I came up with 2 possible solutions

A - Home Team gets Picks 1 and 2, Away Team gets Picks 3 and 4, with Home then getting 5, 6 and 7

B - Home Team gets Pick 1, Away Team then gets Picks 2, 3 and 4, with Home then getting 5, 6 and 7

In example A, Home would Overall get 5 picks, while Away gets 2

In example B, Home would get 4 picks Overall, while Away gets 3

Overall, I would be leaning towards Example A, as with clever picking, the Away team could cut Home's advantage to only 4 picks, but it would still result in the "Home" team technically still holding the edge.

I would be OK with either A or B. Both would be an edge for the home team and I think would work the best of all that are listed.

The problem with all the solutions so far debated is that it creates a pattern. The solution A, for exemple, the Home team to ensures a 5-2 must pick 2 170 fights, any other pick will end up 4-3. After that the Away team is obliged to pick 2 HW and then the Home team picks the 2 last HW fights. There is no room for change here, it will always be like that.

I think Joe spot on the best solution. A 1^7 looks ugly but fix all the issues that we are having. If everything works fine the home team should end with a 4-3. The teams can pick a MW or a HW as they please, it doesn't matter the order and there is a higher possibility for some team captain to screw up and the picks end in a 5-2 or 3-4. This should the ''hardest'' and the most enjoyable way for a team captain to do the draft picks. At least it's what I think.

Deadline has passed for any last minute team changes to be made, so these are the teams we will go with.

We will also go with Option A, since it means that as long as the Home Team captain doesn't do a royal fuck up, they will have an advantage. Since each team will be Home once to all other alliances, there is no disadvantage overall for anyone.

Now with that being confirmed, FinnFighters, Team Conquer and Vendino get the first 2 fight picks for their matches. I will update the 3rd post with the picks as they are announced.
