House swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ahola wants to counter the offense by House and move into the clinch position.
Ahola misses with a low kick.
Ahola tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ahola pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ahola fails in his attempt to clinch.
Ahola lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ahola feints a jab promting House to slip. Ahola then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. House slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.#TD#
House closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ahola is trying to control but can't.
Ahola really doesn't want to stay on the ground with House. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ahola scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but House manages to mount him!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

House tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Ahola defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of House's arms. #SUB#
House is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Ahola has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but House has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Ahola taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. House doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Sheldon House!

Smith will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
It seemed like House was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
House tries a head kick but it misses.
Smith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling House to counter with a crisp jab.
Smith fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
House looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A head kick misses from House.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Smith.
A little jabbing left from House on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Smith shoots for a takedown but House saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.#KD2#
Oooooh!!! House has knocked Smith down with a huge combo! House steps away and waves a wobbly Smith back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!#ROC2#Smith is rocked!#CUT2#It looks like James Smith has been cut.
Smith could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Smith has hold of House's arm. He's looking for a kimura. House seems comfortable defending it but Smith has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! House is real pain and he's forced to tap out! House is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Smith couldn't care less - he's delighted!
