Freud fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mercier sprawls well initially but Freud persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Freud really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mercier. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mercier wants to control but Freud is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Freud is looking to stall here but Mercier recovers full guard.

Mercier is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick!
