Freud fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mercier sprawls well initially but Freud persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Freud really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mercier. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mercier wants to control but Freud is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Freud is looking to stall here but Mercier recovers full guard.

Mercier is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Gripton gets underhooks to prevent Freud's takedown attempt.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Gripton obliges.

Freud goes for a takedown attempt but Gripton pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Max Gripton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sigmund Freud.
Freud shoots in for a double leg but Gripton sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Gripton tries to counter by clinching up but Freud breaks away and moves out of range.#CL#
