Iron is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Slater presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Slater goes for a takedown attempt but Iron pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance. #TD#
Slater scores with a takedown into Iron's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Slater stands up over Iron, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Slater is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

A relieved looking Johnny Slater thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

A cross from Iron lands.
Jose Iron seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Iron changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.#KD2#
Iron feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Hampton sprawling to the canvas! Hampton rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Iron finish him?! #ROC2#Hampton is rocked!
Iron lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Hampton head around and knocks him out cold! Iron hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jose Iron!
Jose Iron was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.

Iron bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Slater's head.
Slater ducks under a wild hook from Iron.
Iron misses with a few strikes there.
Iron lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Slater shoots in but Iron avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A right-left combo lands from Iron.
Slater tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Iron swivels and escapes.
Slater fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Slater. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Iron misses with a low kick.
Iron thuds his right hand into Slater's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.#TD#
Slater is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Iron's half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Iron can do anything to dispel that myth.
