We've been hearing reports that Pekkala has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Akhtar Assad seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pekkala gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Assad tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Pekkala is able to avoid easily.
Pekkala appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Perry has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Pekkala to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Perry is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Pekkala pulls down on the head and he's put Perry to sleep! This one is all over!

A very excited looking Usko Pekkala rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

Pekkala quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Berachi has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Pekkala celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Pekkala has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Choi finds it's way round the side to connect with Pekkala's head.

Choi looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pekkala wants to take the fight to the mat but Choi manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
