Spann tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jay swivels and escapes.
Spann stuffs the takedown.

Jay is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Spann slips nicely into half guard.
Spann seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jay does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. #SUB2#
Spann is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Jay is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Spann stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Spann wants it to stay on the feet.
Spann stuffs the takedown attempt from Diaz. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet.
Spann keeps the fight on the outside.
Spann is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Diaz lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Spann backs up against the cage.

Spann decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Diaz tries to kick Spann off in order to stand up. Spann Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Diaz is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Diaz wants to control the position but that's not easy when your opponent is in side control! Spann seems to be going for some sort of submission here. Hard to say what - oh, it's a Brabo choke! He's got it! Diaz is tapping! Wow, great finish!
